Hey everyone, Wolf here. I won't be updating as often, seeing as I have school now. I hope everyone likes this fic, as I'm still kinda new to this. Reviews are welcome and appreciated, the reviews that I've gotten so far on my other stories have helped me a lot. I don't own anything, all right go to Rick Riordan. On with the story.
Íroas POV
I was out in the mortal world, enjoying some Panda Express. I know, I know, it's not real Chinese food, but I love it. I heard a rumble of thunder, disrupting my lunch. 'Seriously Zeus, calling a meeting during lunch?' I thought. I disappeared in a flash, taking my food with me. I appeared on my throne in the Olympian Throne Room. I continued eating as the other Olympians flashed in. Aphrodite was the last person to flash in, still adjusting her makeup, as always.
"Alright, everyone's here, not Zeus, what was so important that you had to interrupt my lunch?" I asked. 200 years ago, had I spoken to him like that, I would have been incinerated in an instant, but that was 200 years ago.
"Well, Íroas, today is 200 years since the disappearance of Percy Jackson. We're inviting all demigods and gods to Olympus, to celebrate his life and heroism. Íroas, you will be helping to transport, along with Artemis." Zeus said, "Go prepare them for the teleportation, and have them here in an hour."
Everyone flashed out, leaving Artemis and I alone. "Been a while since we were alone together huh? Almost 50 years. How are you doing?" I asked her, she's a really good friend of mine, she even takes me on hunts with her, and she helped me perfect my skills with a bow.
"I've been pretty good, the hunt around a hundred right now, so I'm stronger than ever." Artemis replied, "And you?"
"I'm good, been busy with me domains, they have me doing stuff basically 24/7, the only breaks that I get are when we have a meeting, when I have to eat, or when I sleep." I replied, remembering when I became an Olympian.
Flashback
I was on the elevator, going up to Olympus. Camp had betrayed me, and Annabeth had cheated on my, WITH MY OWN HALF BROTHER. I was going to the Olympians to ask for them to kill me, because I had nothing left to live for. Mum and Paul had been killed, Gaia's revenge against me. The elevator dinged, and I stepped out. I began the trek to the throne room, ignoring the stares that I got from the nymphs and gods.
I reached the throne room, and walked in, seeing the council arguing with each other. I cleared my throat, and they all looked down at me. "Son, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be teaching the campers right now?" my father asked.
"No, that place is no longer my home." I said. I created a rainbow with my powers, and said, "Iris, show the Olympians the events of my betrayal." Oh yeah, Iris gave me unlimited free Iris Messages, as a thank you for the wars.
The Olympians watched, as one by one, my friends betrayed me, believing Mark, my half-brother, over me, the person they fought beside for two wars. Poseidon was looking more and more pissed, to the point the ground was shaking, and there was probably a hurricane forming out in the Atlantic. Finally, it showed me finding Annabeth, on the beach, kissing Mark. At this point, dad looked like he was considering massacring the entire camp, but he restrained himself. Athena looked ashamed that her favorite daughter would do this.
"Now that you have seen that, I have one wish." I said.
"What is it Perseus?" Zeus asked.
"Kill me. I have nothing left to live for. My friends have betrayed me, my girlfriend cheated on me, and my parents are dead. So please, kill me." I said, without any emotion on my face.
There was silence, before the entire council started yelling out objections at once. "Silence!" Zeus thundered. "I am sorry Perseus, but this, we cannot do. However, we can offer you something else. Would you like to join the council?" Zeus said, like it was no big deal, when it was one of the biggest things in the Greek world.
I thought about it. I had turned down godhood in the past, but that was because I had people tying me to the Mortal world. This time, there was nothing holding me back. "I accept." I said.
"Alright, this might hurt a little." Zeus said, before the council started chanting in Ancient Greek. Beams of energy shot out from them, and formed a ball of energy in the middle, as they finished chanting, the ball shot into my chest. I fell to the ground, experiencing pain like never before, it was almost as bad as when I held the sky. When the pain finally stopped, I slowly stood, realizing I was at my Olympian height. There was a flash of light, and when it faded, I saw 3 shriveled old ladies, The Fates.
"All hail Perseus, The 15th Olympian, god of Heroes, Tides, Volcanoes, Weapons, Weapon Forging, Swordsmanship, Monsters, Loyalty, Leadership, Time, and Light. Your sacred weapon is your sword Riptide. Your sacred animals are Wolves, your Hellhound, Mrs. O'Leary, and your Pegasus, Blackjack." They said in unison.
I looked around the room and saw everyone's jaw hit the floor at how many domains I have. When The Fates finished, a throne rose out of the ground, next to my father's. It was made out of a mixture of Stygian iron, and Olympian Silver, a very rare metal. The armrests had the designs of swords and knives on the sides, the front of the seat had an hourglass on it, the Back had waves depicted on it, made from Atlantean Steel, and the Headrest depicted a Hellhound's face.
Everyone stared in awe at the throne, it was magnificent. "farewell Olympians, until we meet again." The Fates said, before vanishing in a flash of light.
I walked over to my throne and sat down. As soon as I did so, I felt a rush of power flow through me, as well as knowledge of how to use and control my domains.
"Also, from hence forth, I will be known as Íroas, not Perseus." I said.
"Hero, it's fitting for you." Surprisingly, it was Artemis that said that.
"If that is all, then I declare this meeting adjourned." Zeus said, before vanishing in a flash of lightning.
Flashback End
"You do have a lot of domains." Artemis said, startling me out of my thoughts.
"True that. Anyway, let's go get the heroes, I'll transport us so you can save your strength, since you'll have to transport your hunters as well." I said.
"Ok, that works." she said, grabbing my hand.
I focused on my domain of Monsters, and shadow traveled us to Camp Half Blood. I found out that I have the powers of every monster in all of mythology, so I can shadow travel, among other things.
We arrived in Camp, and Artemis ran to a bush and puked. I guess she still isn't used to shadow traveling, it does take some getting used to. She walked back over, "Not a word." she said. I just held my hands up in a surrendering manner, before we both laughed, and made our way to the big house. We walked in and saw Chiron playing Pinochle with Dionysus. Oh yeah, Dionysus had decided to stay at camp, because he 'Didn't want us to miss him'. I think he just actually likes them.
"Ah, Íroas, Artemis, I was wondering when you'd show up. Chiron, go make the announcement, it's time." Dionysus said.
Chiron got up, and walked out, heading towards the amphitheater. I flipped my cloaks hood up, to mask my identity. I know, I could just change my appearance, but I like how I look, plus, I like being mysterious. my cloak was black, with a ragged tear at the bottom, and some holes in it. (look up Cayde-6's cloak from Destiny, that's where I got the idea) I also had my armor on, it was made by myself and Hephaestus, with the help of Hades, since it's primarily made out of Stygian iron. It has designs representing my domains, made out of Olympian Silver. All in all, I looked very intimidating. Artemis, Dionysus, and I made our way to the amphitheater. When we were almost there, I told them to go on ahead. Artemis just rolled her eyes, know that I just wanted to make a grand entrance, one that Zeus would be proud of.
I waited until I heard Chiron start speaking. I extended my wings and shot up into the air. I flew un until I reached about a thousand feet, then I coated my wings in darkness and light, making them look like they were made of black holes. I flew down, with my sword, Quickfang, which was a katana, in hand. I flew feet first into the ground, using my powers to create a tremor in the earth, and drove Quickfang into the ground. I created a small crater, about 5 feet deep, and 10 feet wide. I was on one knee, with me head down.
Everyone started freaking out, until they realized that it was me, and they just started either rolling their eyes, laughing, or both. I was known for being dramatic, I mean, Zeus taught me everything he knew about being dramatic. I stood up and waved my hand, reversing the effect. I then walked over to Artemis, who was sitting in a throne she summoned. I summoned a smaller version of my throne, and sat down.
"Heroes, Satyrs, and Nymphs. You have been gathered here for a special occasion. Does anyone know what today is?" Chiron asked, "Yes Annabeth?" Annabeth, along with the other councilors had been granted partial immortality after I became an Olympian, so they could continue to lead their cabins.
"Today is 200 years after that traitorous bastard Perseus left us. Today, we're having a celebration on Olympus for him, why we're celebrating that piece of shit, I don't know." she said. I tried not to flinch, I mean, she was talking about me, she just didn't know that.
"Annabeth, watch your mouth. You don't want to anger Poseidon." I said with obvious distaste in my voice.
"What do you have against me, Lord Íroas, you've never liked me." Annabeth said, sounding curious.
I stood up, "Perseus was my friend, and you call him a traitorous piece of shit. Also, you let your pride get in the way of your leadership. A true leader does what is best for the greater good of his or her people, not what is best for him or herself. You ask why I dislike you, well, think about it. Your mother is the goddess of wisdom, use your brain. Or, are you too stupid to figure it out? I retorted.
"Íroas! Control your temper." Artemis said, and I realized that it was getting really dark, and the tides were getting stronger. I calmed myself, and everything returned to normal.
"Sorry Artemis, Chiron, continue please." I replied, before sitting back down.
"As Annabeth explained, today is 200 years since Perseus left. We are going to Olympus to commemorate him, and to learn the truth, as the gods put it. Gather at Half Blood Hill in 15 minutes." Chiron said, before stomping his hoof, dismissing them. Everyone got up, leaving the amphitheater, going back to whatever they were doing before they were called there.
"Well, that went pretty well, all things considered." I said, before shadow traveling to Half Blood Hill. Artemis appeared in a flash right after me.
"You still need to work on controlling your temper, otherwise you might lose control and do something you're going to regret." Artemis said.
"Sorry Arty, I'm working on it, but every time I come back here, old memories resurface. If you weren't there, I'd hate to think what might have happened." I replied.
"That's why I'm here, Zeus knows you could have transported them all by yourself, seeing as Heroes is one of your domains. He had me come here to make sure you stayed calm." Artemis said, before giving me a hug. Yes, Artemis, the man hating goddess, was giving me a hug. That's how close we are.
Everyone arrived on time, and I prepared for the mass teleport. "Everyone, join hands, Hunters and some of the girls, go with Artemis." I spoke, going into what Artemis calls my "Leader mode".
The Hunters and around 25 of the girls from camp went over to Artemis, so I was left with around 125 campers. I gathered my power, and light traveled myself and them to Olympus. We appeared in the throne room, and Artemis and her group appeared a few seconds after. Artemis and I sat down in our thrones, and I pulled out a throwing knife, throwing it into the air and making it explode. The Olympians started flashing in, they were all there after about 5 minutes.
Zeus motioned to me to start, since I was the god of Heroes, and I was Percy Jackson, but the heroes didn't know that last part. "Gods, heroes, Nymphs, and Satyrs. We are gathered here to remember the story of a great hero, one that exceeded all others. Today, you shall learn the truth of why the Hero Of Olympus left camp. Today, history shall be restored. Today, we commemorate the life of Percy Jackson!" I said dramatically, hey, what can I say. I love being dramatic, and even Zeus admitted I'm good at giving dramatic speeches. Possibly as good as him.
Over the next hour, I retold the tale of Perseus Jackson, the Hero Of Olympus, with the other Olympians and Chiron reminding me of stuff that I forgot. Then, I got to when Percy was betrayed.
"One day, a new demigod showed up at camp. He was being chased by some low tier monsters, a hellhound, a couple empousai. Percy saw this, alerted the camp, and ran to help the kid. He killed the monsters, but the kid knocked him over and took his sword, acting like he killed them and protected Percy. The younger and newer campers believed this, seeing as they didn't know Percy very well. They started to think that Percy wasn't all that, that he didn't do what he said he did. So, the camp started to lose trust in Percy. Everyone but the other cabin councilors. They stuck by him, which angered mark, who turned out to be a son of Poseidon. He targeted Katie Gardener first. he flooded her garden, and blamed it on Percy. All the evidence was against him, so Katie believed mark, over her best friend for 6 years Percy. One by one, Percy lost his friends. The only people that stuck by him were Clarisse, Chis, the Stoll brothers, and Annabeth. But, one day, something happened that changed Percy's life forever. He had gotten Athena's permission to marry Annabeth, and he had invited her to the beach one night, planning to propose. But, he never did. When he reached the beach, he saw something he thought wasn't possible. Annabeth was already there. But that wasn't what broke him. No, not at all. What broke him, was the fact that she was lying there, kissing his half brother, Mark."
"The water got stronger and harsher, the ground started shaking, and a hurricane started forming. Annabeth asked mark what was wrong, and he said it wasn't him. Percy stepped out, revealing himself. 'Why Annabeth, how could you do this to me' Percy said. 'Percy, it's, it's not w-what it looks like' Annabeth replied, scared for her life. Her boyfriend's eyer were filled with so much rage, she thought she was going to die. 'It's not what it looks like, eh? Well, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE BLOODY CHEATING ON ME. WITH MY OWN DAMN BRAT OF A HALF BROTHER NO LESS.' Percy roared, pissed to bloody hell. 'Ha, I got the camp to think you were fake. I got your friends to leave you. hell, I even got your girlfriend. What're you gonna do Percy?' Mark laughed. 'That was a mistake' Percy said in a scarily calm voice. 'Why? Because you have no one left to care for?' Mark asked. 'No, because I have nothing left to lose.' Percy said in the same scarily calm tone."
"Percy started walking towards Mark, with a dangerous look in his eyes, like a mama bear who's cubs just died. Mark pulled out his sword, Wave Splitter, and rushed at Percy. Percy didn't activate Riptide, he didn't need to. When Mark reached him, mark swung. Mark thought he had won, Percy didn't even pull out a weapon. But, he was shocked by what Percy did. Percy had caught the blade in between his palms, a move no one had ever seen before. he ripped the blade from Mark's hands, and started punching him, hard. When Percy stopped, Mark was hardly recognizable, and barely alive. 'I'm not going to kill you. No, I'm going to let you live with the fact that your half brother beat you within an inch of your damn life without even trying. This was a fraction of my power, if I used my full power, you would have died instantly.' Percy said, before walking towards Annabeth."
"Annabeth thought she was going to die, after what he did to Mark. "I won't kill you, Annabeth, you don't deserve my time." Percy said. He pulled out a small box from his pocket, and threw it onto the ground in front of her, before walking away. Annabeth picked up the box, and opened it. it had the most beautiful ring she had ever seen in it. It was made from an extremely rare metal, called Olympian Silver. It had the design of an own, with the prongs of a trident for feet. The tips of the trident prongs and the eyes of the own were made of diamond. On the inside of the ring, there was an inscription. To last a million years. Annabeth realized her mistake, and pleaded for Percy to come back. 'I guess you were right Wise Girl. Children of Poseidon and Athena don't mix.' Percy said, before vanishing into this air. Annabeth sat there, crying, until Chiron found her. Annabeth lied to the campers, saying that Percy attacked Mark for no reason, and that she almost got her head sliced off, before he ran off, disappearing into the rain. The campers believed her, because Percy's reputation had been tarnished. Only Chris, Clarisse, and the Stoll brother didn't believe her. They contacted Thalia, and told her what had happened. After they did that, Thalia contacted Jason, relaying the information. the romans cut all ties with the Greeks, because they had betrayed their honorary Praetor."
"So, that is the story of Percy Jackson, and the truth of why he left. You now know that you have been lied to by Annabeth and Mark, but don't hold it against them. Annabeth did it because she made a mistake, and her pride got in the way. mark, well… he did it because he wanted control of the camp, so I don't really care what you do to him, as long as you don't kill him. He may be a pompous, prideful brat, but he's still a son of Poseidon, and you don't want to anger him." I finished, and sat down.
"Now, gather into 2 groups for transportation back to Camp Half Blood. This time, it will be Hermes and Dionysus transporting you." Zeus spoke. Once they had gathered into groups, they were transported back to camp. I shadow traveled back to my palace, and got out a bottle of Olympian strength Whiskey. I heard a knock at the door, so I opened it. Artemis was there, probably to comfort me or something like that. I let her in, and sat down.
"So, how are you feeling? I mean, talking about your betrayal and all." Artemis asked, sounding concerned.
"It was hard, I was struggling to keep my voice steady, and to keep my powers in check. I could tell that all the wolve around the world were depressed, even Lupa's pack. And some of the weaker monsters got highly aggressive for a bit, but I managed to keep my emotions in check." I said, downing a shot of whiskey.
"Well, if you want to talk about it, I'm here. Pour me a shot." Artemis said, surprising me. She never drinks, and I mean never. I've known her for 200 years, and I've never seen her touch alcohol. nevertheless, I poured a couple shots, and handed one to her. We downed the shots, and she scrunched up her face and started coughing. I was worried, this was Olympian strength whiskey, and she had never drank alcohol before. maybe I should have gotten something weaker…
"I'm fine Percy, it just surprised me." Artemis said, startling me out of my thoughts. We sat there, drinking shots, until Artemis was three sheets to the wind. I took her back to her palace, and laid her in her bed. I was about to leave, when I felt something grab my arm. It was Artemis, and she pulled me into the bed, and started snuggling up against me. I was shocked, it's probably the alcohol, I thought. anyway, I just laid there, until she fell asleep. I tried getting up, but she had me in a vice grip. I gave up, and decided to try to go to sleep. I laid there for about 15 minutes, before I finally fell into the dark realm of Morpheus.
So, that's chapter one. I hope everyone liked it, it's my first straight PJO fic. If you liked it, or have feedback, leave a review, I love hearing from y'all. Also, I'm warning y'all, I'm not very good at smut, so if that part of this story comes out kinda bad, I'm sorry. Anyway, I won't be updating as often now, since school is starting for me. I hope y'all enjoyed, and will continue to read this fic, Wolf out.
