I'm a Shaymin. Living deep within the mountains. Alone. No one around for miles and miles. I've lived here my entire life living off of random foods that I collected like berries, fruits and vegetables. It was an okay setup for me.
It was around summer at this point. I was glad since I actually made a garden which only blooms during summer. But yeah, my place was built from the ground up. I have no social interaction at all, which was fine with me. I just feel very nervous around others honestly. Being a mythical and all, I get a load of unwanted attention. I remember about five years back, I ventured down from my mountain and entered the nearest city to try and get some stuff like certain seeds to try and grow new stuff. However, the moment I entered, every single Pokemon just stared. Just stared intensely at me. Lets just say it was extremely uncomfortable for me. That was pretty much the last time I ever went down from the mountain.
So yeah, this is a problem for me. Anyways, I suppose that was enough info.
Now, it was around June 15th. Or I think so. It's a bit hard remembering dates when I don't really have technology and all. All I know is that it was around June.
So, I was outside of my house. Just tending to my garden. It was a really nice day out as the sun shined brightly. I was wearing casual clothing as I grabbed a watering can I carved out of wood. I guess living in the mountains completely isolated with no internet or power whatsoever really brings out my creative side. I learned to crave all kinds of objects into things. Though I do wish I had an actual bed instead of a wooden slab with grass and other things to soften it.
Anyway, I grabbed my can, went down to a nearby lake, filled it, and returned back to water my crops.
"Looks pretty nice… Kinda glad they can grow this high up." I told myself, pouring the water evenly.
I tended to them and soon finished, placing the watering can next to the crops and standing up.
"I'd say about a month more then I can yield quite a lot from this batch." I spoke and stretched.
Smiling softly, I slowly looked around and walked around. I felt very nice today honestly. Very relaxed as I walked down to the lake once more and sat near the lake.
Letting out a yawn, I laid down and stretched my body out. I stared up to the sky as no clouds were in sight. The sky was perfectly clear as the temperature was amazing. For a Shaymin, I didn't really have much fur, so the warm weather felt amazing to me as a slight breeze blew over me.
The day went on as I continued laying there. I had my eyes closed, but however, as I laid there, I noticed a quick flash of shade. Opening my eyes, I noticed what looked like a Flygon.
"Huh…? A Flygon? I… Never saw a Pokemon up here my entire life. Even flying types." I said.
Slowly getting up, I saw that the Flygon was carrying a big bag. Most likely mail delivery. This was somewhat confirmed as I noticed something that fell from the bag. It appeared to be a piece of paper as it fell from the sky. Looking at it, I slightly jogged towards it before it touched the ground.
"Wonder what dropped from him." I asked myself and continued jogging.
Keeping my eyes on the piece of paper, a sudden gust of wind caused it to blow further away.
"Come on…" I mumbled and started to run faster.
The piece of paper continued fluttering around in the air as it pretty much lead me towards my house. However, I wasn't lucky as the wind continued blowing, causing the paper to blow further away past my house. Sighing softly, I continued running more.
I continued running for a good minute as I panted gently, soon rushing at full speed.
As I ran as fast as I could, it was finally caught in a tree branch. I got to the tree and panted softly, nearly falling as my legs felt somewhat weak.
"Man… I sorta need to increase my stamina…" I panted and looked up.
The piece of paper luckily got stuck into the branch, preventing it from moving no matter how hard the wind blew.
"Okay… Guess it's time to climb." I said.
Getting right up to the tree, I gripped the tree and started to climb. The climb was difficult, that was for sure. It was very tough due to how little there was to grab.
I shivered and got to the branch. Gripping the branch, I soon began hanging from the branch. I started to then lift myself up which was even harder.
"J- jeez, I need to really get stronger…" I sighed to myself.
Abandoning my plan, I just decided to reach for the paper. So hanging from the branch with one arm, I tried swiping for the page. My grip loosen quite quickly as I continued reaching for it. Luckily, right before falling, I managed to grip the page and the moment I got it, I fell and landed right on my ass.
"O- ow… Crap…" I shivered and slowly got up, rubbing my ass as it stung.
"At… Least… I got it…" I panted and slowly looked at the paper which was somewhat crumbled.
I looked at the piece of paper and noticed it was for a place called Hexa Town. The paper appeared to be advertising an exploration type town.
As I continued reading, it explained Hexa Town was some kind of town where Pokemon form teams and all that stuff. Going on adventures and helping those who need it.
"I swear I heard of exploration towns before. Now that I think of it… I used to love wanting to join one of these places. Going on all kinds of adventures and meeting all kinds of Pokemon. Man… I remember wanting to join one of these places for the longest time." I said.
Beginning to walk back home, I continued looking at the paper.
"The location this page has printed on seems so far away… But for some odd reason, I really want to go there. This… Could be the perfect time to make my wish come true. Joining an exploration town." I said.
Closing my eyes, I let out a sigh.
"I should try… It'd be nice going to new places and possibly meeting others. But… I'm afraid… What if they find me weird? It's not everyday a mythical just strolls into a town. I do terribly with others… Everyone just… Looking at me. It makes me feel so nervous and weird inside…" I shivered and inhaled.
"B- but then again, I could really make it work… J- just need to try and control myself and not panic…" I exhaled.
When I got home, I placed the piece of paper next to my bed and just looked at it once more.
"Hexa Town… This could be my time to finally do what I've wanted for so long… Join an exploration town and make a change… A- Arceus… I don't know what to do… I'm just so scared everyone will… Ugh…" I shook my head.
Sitting on my bed, I held my head and closed my eyes tightly.
"I guess if it doesn't work out… I can always come back here… This place is sanctuary for me. Makes me feel better all the time. So I guess I shouldn't worry too much." I told myself.
I thought for a moment before nodding slowly.
"O- okay. I'll… Give it a try. J- just try and relax…" I said to myself.
Remaining there for a good half hour, I finally got up and sighed before looking around.
"I g- guess I should get r- ready." I told myself.
Slowly walking to a small storage container, I removed a backpack big enough for a decent amount of supply.
"Guess I should thank Mew for this… Though not sure why she got me a backpack since I never go anywhere… Oh well, it's useful now though it's been sitting in here for three years…" I said.
Placing the backpack on my bed, I opened it and sighed. I planned on storing as much supply as I could so I could make the trip. I did have at least $250 due to past events like birthdays. I swear the other legendaries and mythical's give me stuff that never became useful until now. But it was nice since I'm finally going to use them.
So I took the money from a box pretty much labeled 'Unwanted Stuff'. Alongside this, I also grabbed a map from the box which was a map of the entire region.
"A map that I randomly found on the ground that one time I went out all those years ago to that city… Sorta don't want to remember how uncomfortable I felt." I said and placed both of the items in my bag.
I then went to my food storage and collected a decent amount of fruits and other goods, placing them into my bag as well and went on to collect a few clothing items and other random gear. Once I was set up, I slowly closed the bag and sighed.
"Well, here we go…" I told myself.
Grabbing the piece of paper, I stored it away and looked at the door before leaving the house and walking down the mountain slowly which would take about three or so hours.
As I walked down the mountain, I just stared somewhat to the sky. It looked really nice out, so it was a perfect time to adventure.
"Well, this is pretty nice… But I have at least a week of travel…" I said, sighing softly.
I continued walking down the pathway as the mountain became more and more flat. I smiled softly as it took about an hour more before reaching the bottom of the mountain. Once at the bottom, I slowly looked at my map. The distance from my mountain to the town was so far away. Groaning softly, I just accepted it and dealt with it. Not wanting to back down, I just decided to deal with it. So that's what I did. I began walking and set out on my journey.
My journey started through the forest. The forest was alright with me as I didn't encounter anything luckily.
Nothing eventful happened throughout my journey through the forest. But it sorta changed half way through since the forest began turning into a swampy location.
Sighing softly, I tried to prevent getting my clothes all gross and messy. I tried staying on land as it turned into mushy swamp filled with disgusting green thick water.
"Not the biggest fan of coming down from my mountain… This place is gross…" I said.
Pressing myself against the wall of a tree, I started to slowly moved across a ledge. I looked down at the swampy water as I groaned and made sure not to lose my footing. The place felt so hot as I quickly began to sweat. The air was so thick and wet as I tried not to think of it. I didn't try breathing it either since it really felt disgusting.
When I got to some land, I slowly removed myself from the tree and sighed softly, looking at the giant pool that I just crossed.
"This sucks already. Just need to keep pushing." I told myself and looked around.
Looking around, I started to walk. I walked and walked for a good amount of time. I was sweating further due to the air being so thick and hot. But I didn't give up, I just kept pushing as I let out pants.
It took about half an hour before the swamp began turning into a plain area. The trees became fewer before nothing. I dragged my feet and somewhat fell onto the lush grass of this new location.
"Looks… Like I'm out of the swamp… Just… Need a moment. I could barely breath in there…" I told myself, panting more.
Letting out soft groans, I stood up and shook my head. I already felt tired as I started walking through this open field area. This place reminded me of my place honestly. Just without all the mountains and all. That was fine though, I rather travel through a nice location like this instead of a gross mucky swamp.
So as I continued walking, I noticed a town in the distance. Tilting my head, I grabbed the map and opened it to look. It appeared it wasn't the town I was after. Instead, just a simple town called Arax Town. A small town mainly used as pit stops for truckers and the such.
"I guess I could, um… Stop by there. I did bring this money and I might need help on my journey… I completely forgot to pack a tent. Not like I had one to begin with… But… Maybe I could find a shop that sells camping gear. But I don't know. Could maybe find hotels. Then again, I really don't want to bring immense attention to me…" I said.
Closing up the map, I decided to just find a basic tent that is easy to pitch.
Walking into the city about ten minutes later, it was surprisingly dead. Not maybe Pokemon around. I managed to avoid getting eyes on me from the few who were out until I spotted a store which seemed to be a mall. I decided this could be a good place to shop as I slowly walked to the automatic doors. They opened up as I stepped near and once I entered, I tried to make it fast and rushed around. Not sprinting, but speed walking pretty quickly.
I continued this pace around, trying to keep my head low as I noticed what looked like an outdoors goods shop. So I entered and scanned the area for what I needed.
It took a few minutes, but I did find a tiny camping starter kit shoved behind some large boxes. I moved them aside and reached in, pulling the box out and looked at it. It wasn't anything too fancy. Just a small starter kit that contained a tent for one along with a portable stove.
"No use for the stove, but at least it has a tent and only for $30…" I told myself.
So taking it with me, I brought it to the counter and the Raichu who worked there seemed surprised but gladly didn't awe over seeing a mythical after I quietly mumbled I didn't really want to be here for long.
With the Raichu accepting my request to make it quick, he just simply took my money and I was on my way. Now, the way out of the town was pretty okay. I just ran down the street and tried to get out as fast as I could.
When I did reach the border of the town, I just sighed and looked at the box that I held in my paws.
"Since I'll be on the road for five days to a week at best… This will surely help." I said and carried it.
I was right to think that as around nine PM that same day, clouds started forming and it started getting colder. I was walking through a deserted forest path at this point of time. The area around me didn't really have much other then a few houses here and there. The sun was completely down at this point as the moon shined enough to where I could see. However, with the weather getting worse, I knew it'll be raining soon. I didn't want to stop since I prefer walking at night, but I didn't want to get drenched.
So accepting defeat due to weather, I just walked a little off the main path and found a place to set up my tiny tent. It was actually much bigger upon unpacking it from the tiny box, so I was glad for there. When I unpacked it and set it up, I checked it over.
"Seems like this could be useful to protect me against the rain." I told myself.
Opening the entrance to the tent, I crawled in and sat down. It was perfect size for me as I placed my backpack down and closed the flap that lead outside. Once it was closed, I laid back and stretched, letting out a sigh as I grabbed my bag and looked in. Taking out some food, I ate in total silent as it was soon broken due to the soft hits on my tent. It started raining.
"Really hope this tent can endure the heavy rain that's coming…" I quietly spoke and finished eating.
Once I finished eating, I just laid down and yawned, closing my eyes. I was oddly tired upon laying down as it didn't really take long until I fell asleep, hearing the rain pick up as it soon poured.
When I woke up the next morning, I felt pretty bad. I let out a groan as I slowly sat up.
"U- ugh…" I sighed.
Rubbing my eyes, I was nearly blinded by the bright light the shined through my tent. It appeared to have stopped raining thankfully as I tried stretching, hearing cracks and pops which caused me to groan a bit more.
"Still better then sleeping in the rain I suppose…" I said softly and opened the flap.
Looking out, everything was wet and the air was a bit chilly. I shivered as the frosty air blew against me.
Letting out a shaky breath, I slowly began packing up. I wanted to wait until it warmed up, but I didn't have much time. I wanted to try and get to this town as fast as possible since I didn't want to run out of food and money. Though I have a feeling Pokemon would support a mythical. But I rather not do that.
So once I packed up, I grabbed my bag and got to my feet. Placing my camping gear back into it's box, I shoved it into my backpack and began walking again.
As I walked down the path, it looked somewhat nice as the rain on the leaves and grass left it so shiny. I gave a soft smile and continued walking down. It took a while walking through this mysterious location until I encountered what looked like a small farm town.
"Huh… Didn't see this on my map. Looks quite empty too." I said.
It was still early morning, so I expected everyone was asleep. Not wanting to make a large detour, I just decided to go through the farm.
Walking down to the farming lands, I looked at the massive fields of corn and other random crops. Nothing special for a farm.
"Hmm… This place does seem nice. Wonder where everyone is though… Guess I should be glad." I said.
Going silent, I just walked through the town and tried making little noise at this moment to avoid getting attention if someone was awake. I just walked silently, managing to avoid the squishy sound of mud beneath my feet.
"Man… This reminds me of a western town. Must've been built years and years ago." I whispered to myself.
I looked side to side as nothing happened. Until I saw it. A Pokemon that suddenly came from within an alley. I instantly tensed and looked to the side. I silently ran behind a large wagon I saw and tried making myself hidden. The reason why I did this is because they looked very shady. The Pokemon wore complete black. Standing out miles away and did not fit the setting of this quiet little town. What worried me more however is that the Pokemon had something in it's paw. It looked shiny, so I didn't want to risk it. So I attempted to just stay silent.
Hearing the footsteps of this Pokemon. It sounded heavy. Possibly something bigger like a Charizard. But I had no idea. It's figure did appear huge, but many Pokemon are big in size.
"C- crap… I'm a mythical and all… But… Even I won't be able to defend myself against something huge…" I thought and pressed myself against a wall.
The footsteps became louder and soon I saw the figure walk right by me. I looked, extremely nervous as I watched the Pokemon walking down the path. Looking, I noticed what they were holding. A metal baseball bat.
"Um… This is sorta unsettling… Like a horror movie…" I thought and watched.
The Pokemon continued walking down and soon turned the corner. Once they were out of view, I waited for about five minutes before crawling out from my hiding spot and sighed softly. Not wanting to run into that Pokemon, I tried avoiding using the main pathways until I was out of the town.
Luckily I didn't run into the Pokemon again as I got out of the town and shrugged it off.
"P- probably nothing. But still should be safe." I told myself.
I didn't really think about it much longer upon leaving the town and walking off to my destination. I pulled out my map and yawned softly, still tired.
"Okay… If I keep moving, I should be able to reach the Hexa within four days. Just need to keep moving and not get distracted." I said.
Looking from the map, I continued to walk down the pathway which went on for about eight miles before I finally reached mainland instead of forest. The muddy path turned into paved roads. Houses appeared more commonly. And vehicles started driving around.
Being my nervous and shy self, I just tried avoiding the main roads. I just didn't want to get caught by someone and get into an interaction honestly, so I just tried avoiding it. Going into backyards of houses, dipping into bushes and other random places, and even hiding in ditches.
"This sucks… But this is the last major landmark from what the map says… Then it's smooth walking to Hexa." I told myself.
So enduring it, I continued to hide from others. Luckily it worked. Other then one time where I was too slow and someone did spot me. I looked nervous, but they left me alone, so I just rushed off before they did something.
It took me over four hours before reaching the end which was very tiring for me. But I did it. Once I was out, I quickly ran off.
I ran for a bit before I decided I was far enough from the city. So once I relaxed a bit, I just started walking down the road.
This went on for the entire day honestly. I saw no vehicles in all that time which was odd, but I didn't really mind at first since my mind was set on getting to Hexa.
During that night, I just set up my tent and relaxed. I actually didn't plan on sleeping all night, so I just laid and rested for a bit. I managed to wake up around three AM as I quickly got up and unpacked. I began walking again.
"Moving under the cover of night… Perfect for me." I said, yawning.
Now, three to six, I managed to get through a few miles as I jogged most of the way. I didn't stop at all as I wanted to cover the most distance I could before dawn. I was lucky enough to make such distance before the sun was fully up. When it was fully up, I decided to get some more sleep.
The time was around four PM upon waking up. I sat there for a moment and just scanned the map.
"Jeez… I am making distance… But I still have a bit to go…" I said.
Letting out a sigh, I just closed the map up and got up, taking down the camp and started walking up.
I walked as I looked down.
"Not sure if this was worth it… But I can't turn back now…" I said.
Looking up slowly, I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply, continuing to walk down the path. I began feeling sore at this point due to the constant walking and carrying this heavy backpack. I panted gently and shook my head. It sucked big time as I tried pushing on as my body continued hurting. I didn't want to give up though. Not this far in. So I kept pushing even though my legs were pained and I began feeling a bit weak, but I still continued.
I did end up taking more breaks then normal, but I still didn't stop for more then a few hours. I really did want to reach this place, I luckily, I didn't just give in.
My travels became harder as I passed multiple places and hiding from Pokemon, but I still didn't turn back.
Now, it has been three days on the road as I was feeling good that I was almost there. I checked my map and noticed I was less then 50 miles away.
"Glad I didn't just go home… I really want to go to this place. So close now." I told myself.
Through the three days, I ended up making tiny and quick stops at gas stations and other very small stores to buy some food and more supply. As of right now, I only had about $20 left. I was running pretty low, but I had a feeling I could make it before I ran out of money completely, so I tried not worrying about it.
The day went on and on. By the time it was 5 PM, I looked ahead and noticed a large hill. I walked up to it and just decided to climb it instead of walking around. Luckily the hill wasn't that tall, but it was somewhat steep as I tried to not slide down it.
I was somewhat sweating and tired, panting as I climbed the hill further. My legs felt very weak but I continued. I continued to climb for a few minutes as I panted more.
My legs were so tired that I thought I was about to collapse. But thankfully, with one last push, I managed to get to the top and I sat down.
"S- should've just went around…" I told myself.
Slowly opening my bag, I sighed. Nothing really left inside it. But when I looked up, I noticed a town just in the near distance.
"I- is this Hexa?" I asked myself.
Closing my eyes, I tilted up my head up and inhaled. This must be it. After multiple days of nonstop walking, I managed to reach the town. I felt pretty happy as I slowly opened my eyes and looked around myself. I then looked at my clothing. I rested easily knowing my clothing was decently cleaned. I didn't want to walk into this place looking nasty.
I looked back down and suddenly sighed. I was somewhat nervous at this point since I didn't know what I was going to do. A town full of mysterious Pokemon that will most likely cause unwanted attention that I really did not want to get. Not a single bit. It really made me nervous and I just didn't know what to do. I didn't want to back out now.
So fighting against myself for a moment, I slowly got to my feet and shivered before grabbing my bag.
"Lets do this…" I quietly spoke to myself and began walking down the hill.
Each step I took, I felt even more nervous. It didn't take long until I entered the town and slowly looked around. No one was around. But as I continued walking, I must've made it to the main plaza area as I started seeing crowds of Pokemon. All kinds just doing their own business. Groups sitting at tables and chatting while some were alone and doing their own thing.
"Just keep my head down… T- try and not make eye contact." I told myself and stepped forward.
I then began my journey through the main plaza. I kept dead silent as I tried looking normal. I didn't run or hid, I just kept my head down as I walked through this area. Some Pokemon who were talking within range of me became quiet rather quickly as I felt myself get a bit flustered due to how quiet most of the plaza became. Some still talked, having not seen me or didn't really think much about it. But the ones who didn't speak made me feel flustered and shy as I tried remaining calm.
It wasn't long until I heard some whisper. I tried not to really think of it as I kept walking. Luckily ones who clearly stared turned back to do their own things once I passed them.
When I reached the end of the main plaza, I let out a big sigh and looked up slowly. It was only a long stretch of road that lead to a big building on top of a hill.
"T- that must be it… The main guild hall or something." I told myself and looked around.
From what I saw, this must've been the housing area of the town. Multiple buildings that lined together and traveled up the path. No one was around as most were in the center. I didn't really know, but I believed that's where everyone goes to during the late day. It was okay with me since the housing district looked empty and it was a clear path to the guild hall.
I slowly looked back to the center of town before facing forward again and then walking up the path.
When I got to the large building, I reached out and grabbed the handles. Letting in an inhale, I pulled slowly as the doors opened. Upon opening the doors a little, I looked in slightly and saw no one. When I didn't see anyone, I went inside.
The building looked very fancy honestly. The floors were made out of crystal or something as the walls were made of quartz. Large lamp lights covered in frosted glass hung from the ceiling which created a somewhat relaxing tint of light in shapes of diamonds due to the frosted glass patterns.
Walking down the large room, it appeared quite empty. Only a few tables and chairs and a much larger table which I assumed was the reception. No one was around at all. This confused me as I kept walking towards the reception center. The emptiness of the room caused me to hear my footsteps quietly echoed through it.
Once I reached the table, I slowly looked around. I was still confused honestly. No one at all. No noise other then me. This is when I decided to make some noise.
"H- hello…?" I spoke as it echoed.
A second upon speaking, I suddenly heard noises come from down a somewhat darken hall. I looked over and noticed a door open. I watched as a male Sawsbuck backed away from the door, pulling a table with loads of stuff on it. He didn't notice me until he traveled down into the room I was in while pushing the table.
When he looked up from his work, he looked instantly surprised.
"A Shaymin?!" He stepped back slowly.
I looked away slowly as he quickly calmed himself down.
"This… Isn't an everyday encounter. S- so, um… What brings you here?" He asked.
"Oh, um… I'm here to, uh… Join this town's exploration team." I said.
"Huh… Is that so? You are in luck. We can hold six more Pokemon. Come with me and we'll get you sorted." He said.
Nodding slowly, I began following him into the room he have just left.
Once we got inside the room, it looked like an office as the Sawsbuck walked over to a desk and grabbed a clipboard with a piece of paper on it. He then placed it on the table with a pen.
"We like to keep a record of everyone who joins us. So if you don't mind, please fill out the required fields." He said.
Nodding, I sat and took the pen.
"S- so… Are you the guild leader?" I asked.
The Sawsbuck nodded.
"Yep. Leader of this place for about five years now. I do the recruiting and maintain the town along with my assistance." He said.
"Assistance?" I asked.
"You mean me?" A voice spoke behind me, causing me to jump and turn around.
A female Boltund was leaning against the door frame.
"O- oh…" I spoke very softly and turned back to the paper.
Looking over it, it appeared to be basic info. So I didn't really take long to fill it out.
Once I was finished, I sat back as the Sawsbuck took it and looked over it. He nodded every few seconds before detaching the piece of paper and placed it into the desk.
"Well, everything seems okay. Now, follow me please." He said.
Getting up from the chair, I started to follow him out as he lead me to the front doors. He then exited the building as I followed. The Boltund also followed as we walked down the pathway back to the main plaza.
"Well… I should introduce us. I am Autumn. My assistance is named Bolt. Welcome to Hexa Town. A place full of Pokemon who create teams to help others in need and more." He said.
Nodding slowly, he continued.
"We have a house you can stay in. Hope you don't mind. It has four others so they'll be your roommates." He said.
"O- oh, um… That's… Okay…" I said, looking to the side.
"There's no need to feel worried." He said before stopping.
Looking at him, he nudged his head to the side, directed at a house. He then walked up to the door and pulled out a key.
"Make sure not to lose this, okay? We can replace it, but it's a little trouble to get another copy." He said.
"I- I'll make sure to keep it safe." I said.
He nodded and gave me the key.
"You look pretty tired." He said.
"Y- yeah… I've been on the road for days to get here." I said.
"Huh. Well, I mostly give a tour with newcomers when they first join, but since you look like your about to drop… I'll just do it tomorrow. I'll stop by around 9 AM to give you it, okay?" He said.
"That sounds good." I replied.
He smiled.
"Well, you should get in and get some rest. If you have any issues, come get me." He said.
Giving a soft nod, I unlocked the door and opened it. The two left me as I walked into the house. It looked fairly clean thankfully as I walked around. The place wasn't insanely big, but still a decent size for now five Pokemon.
Once I checked over the house, it appeared to be empty. My other roommates must be out doing their own thing. I didn't get bothered by this since I enjoy the peace and quiet as I sat down and placed my bag down.
Letting out a groan, I rubbed my back, feeling the imprints of my backpack straps down my back. I stretched out and yawned before opening my bag.
"F- feel so hungry all of a sudden… Guess the excitement of getting here nullified the feeling until now…" I told myself.
Reaching into the bag, I pulled out the last bit of my money. I looked over it and got up. Walking towards the door, I walked out and tried finding a place to get some food.
I walked near the plaza zone as I noticed a vending machine. I still didn't really want to get spotted, so I quickly went over to it and put five dollars into it, getting five one dollar bags of chips.
Collecting the bags, I traveled back to the house and walked inside. Closing the door, I walked into the bedding area which had all the beds of each member. It appeared five Pokemon could stay in one house at a time since there was already a fifth bed which is now used for me.
I claimed this bed instantly as the others already had other bags and gears from my other roommates on them.
So upon getting set up, I just sat in my bed and ate the bags of chips I had beside me which made me feel much better since I was started to feel somewhat faint at this point.
It wasn't long however before I ended up falling asleep.
I slept throughout the night and when I woke up, I slowly looked around in a daze. Yawning, I rubbed my eyes and stretched out. The bed felt very comfortable and I didn't want to get up. Looking at the clock on the wall, it was nearing eight AM.
"An hour before the two are suppose to come…" I told myself.
I checked the room but no one was there. Slowly standing up, I turned to face the door. Walking over to it, I opened it and stepped out. It was a bit of trouble to keep myself standing since my legs felt so weak.
Managing to get into the living room, I suddenly stopped. Looking ahead, I noticed a Scorbunny, Torracat, Furfrou and Luxio. All were male other then the Furfrou.
I stood there for a moment before the Scorbunny noticed me and spoke.
"Ah, you're up."
Instantly I felt a bit nervous again as I looked to the side.
"Y- yeah…" I nearly whispered.
"We heard we were getting a new roommate. I was excited but didn't expect a mythical!" He told me.
"A- anyways, we've been up for an hour or so now. You looked completely blacked out, so we decided to let you get some more sleep." He continued.
"Thanks…" I mumbled softly.
"You hungry? This is about the time we start breakfast." The Torracat spoke.
Nodding slowly, I pretty much shuffled towards a table and sat down. The Torracat got up from a beanbag chair and made his way into the kitchen as I waited silently. I should've expected them to be here during the morning, but it still really made me shy because of it.
"So… Kinda shocking being near a Shaymin." The Scorbunny said, sitting down at the table.
The other two sat at the table not long after.
"Really something honestly." The Scorbunny said.
"I don't really want to fanboy over being feet from a mythical, but I had a question that I had for about a year. Is it true you have healing abilities?" He asked.
"U- um… Not… R- really…" I spoke.
"Really? Is the original only able to heal? I heard somewhere there are multiple Shaymin's and other legendaries." He said.
"Uh…" I looked away slowly.
"Wait… Are you the original? I-" The Scorbunny was stopped with a quick forceful flick towards the forehead.
"Chill with the questions… He is clearly uncomfortable…" The Furfrou said, rolling her eyes and looking at me.
"Sorry about him. He tends to get this way sometimes…" She said.
"It's… O- okay… Just, um… Not used to interacting with others…" I said shyly.
The Scorbunny rubbed his forehead and sighed, apologizing.
"W- well… I guess we should give names. I am Scorch." The Scorbunny spoke.
"And I am Cloud." The Furfrou said.
"I'm Shock. The Torracat is Ember." The Luxio said as well.
Nodding slowly, I gave a weak smile and waited for the food to finish. The three didn't really push any questions onto me as I waited for the food to be finished which I was glad for since I still felt very nervous and shy.
When the food was done, Ember walked out and placed the food down. I let out a soft thanks before starting to eat.
The food was very good honestly as I finished minutes after it arrived and before anyone else. Once I was done with the food, I just sat there and waited for the time to hit nine. When the others were done, they mainly just went to do their own things while I just sat there, not really interacting and staying very quiet. The four did notice my silent but didn't really confront me.
When the time arrived, I slowly got up and five minutes passed nine, I heard knocks at the door. Scorch looked at me and spoke.
"Must be for you." He said.
"Y- yeah… Suppose to go on a little tour." I said.
Scorch nodded and returned to whatever he was watching on the TV.
I walked over to the door and opened it to reveal Autumn.
"Hey. Good to see you up at this time. Hope you slept well." He said.
"Y- yeah…" I spoke.
"Great. So, ready to get shown around real quick? It won't take more then ten minutes." He said.
Nodding, he stepped back as I walked out and closed the door. He then motioned me to follow as he walked down the road to the main plaza.
"Nothing much of interest back there. Just the housing and guild hall areas. All the stuff worth noting is near the center of town. So please follow me and I'll show you." He said.
I accepted and followed him close as we reached the plaza zone.
"Okay, so of course this is sorta like the gathering place. Nothing too crazy. Just a place where everyone can relax and buy stuff from the many shops around here." He said.
He then lead me towards a building a neon lights.
"This place is where requests and all appear at. Lets head inside." He said.
I followed him inside as there were multiple touchscreen computers.
"Pretty simple stuff here. Just go to one of the computers and scan this." He said, giving me a card.
Looking at it, it looked like a normal key card of some kind with my name on it.
"I made you this last night. It's what you scan using the computers scanner. Upon doing this, you can access the database of incoming requests, currently accepted requests, news, and just all kinds of other useful stuff." He said.
He then motioned towards the computer as I walked up to it. Looking at the card, I placed it against the scanner as it turned green. Once the green tint faded, the screen changed into what looked like a main screen.
"Perfect. Now you can see all kinds of info. Just touch the tabs on the screen like requests and it will change to that tab. It's pretty easy and I am sure you'll figure it out instantly upon doing it on your own time. Anyways, we have one more stop." He said.
Nodding slowly, I exited from the computer and placed my card in my bag. Autumn then walked out as I followed again. He then walked up to the guild hall. I followed still and soon we entered the building. He looked at me and continued to motion as we walked into an office room. Autumn walked towards a box and picked it up before giving it to me.
"Um…" I looked confused.
"This is your starter kit. It comes with the basic gear which is required to be apart of a team. This stuff isn't the greatest… But you can purchase better gear within the plaza's shops." He said.
"S- sounds good." I replied.
"Well, that'll be it. Please come here if you have any problems or questions. Either I or Bolt will be here." He said.
Nodding, I looked at the box before turning back and walking out and soon outside. Once outside, I walked back to the house.
I opened the door and walked in. The four still did their own thing before Scorch noticed and walked up to me.
"Sweet. You got your kit. Make sure to keep them in good condition." He said.
"I- I'll make sure." I replied and walked into the bedroom.
Inside the room, I just sat on my bed and placed the box on the bed. I looked at it and removed the top. I took a look inside and it wasn't a load of content.
I pulled out a tablet and pressed the power button. It turned on and opened up a digital map.
"Huh… A map. Looks like it's satellite too." I said, looking at the map which pointed right on top of a house.
Turning it off, I placed it aside and pulled out a phone. It looked high-tech and noticed a scanner on top of it.
"I… Guess this is where my key card is used for." I said, pulling out my card.
Scanning my card, the phone suddenly turned on and revealed what looked like the screen I saw on the computer back in the plaza.
"Oh, okay… Appears to be a mobile database. That's actually… Much easier." I told myself.
Shutting off the phone, I placed it near the tablet and pulled out the last item. A bronze badge.
"This is pretty nice. A small badge to show that I'm apart of this town." I told myself.
I didn't attach it to my shirt or anything right that moment. I just placed everything back into the box and pushed it under my bed.
Once I pushed the box under my bed, I heard the door open. I looked up to see Cloud who walked in.
"H- hey…" I spoke softly.
"How are you settling in?" She asked.
"P- pretty good." I replied.
Cloud nodded and walked towards her bed.
"Well, it's Sunday. The four of us mostly go out and have fun on Monday and Friday. You can join us tomorrow if you'd like." She said.
"Oh, um…" I stopped.
"Don't stress it. If you don't feel comfortable yet, we'll just let you be here alone. Eh, we'll bring back some food for you if you stay behind." She said.
"S- sounds pretty okay. Sorry… Just, uh… Bad at conversation…" I said.
"How so? It's fine if you don't wanna talk about it." She said, turning to face me.
"O- oh… Well, um, it's… Just being a mythical… I… Suppose. E- everyone asks constant questions and it really makes me shy and nervous…" I said.
"Should've expected. Not everyday someone sees a legendary or mythical. Well, I won't push the topic… We'll be out in the living room if you wanna join." She said, grabbing a backpack and walked out.
She closed the door as I sat on my bed, letting out a small sigh. I gently shook my head and got up. I just ended up walking around the room for about ten minutes. When those ten minutes passed, I walked towards the door and opened it. The four was just watching TV. Looking to the side, I decided to join them. I held the phone as I sat at the table.
Scanning my card and all, I just looked through it. This is when I noticed an option to create a team. Tilting my head slowly, I didn't really expect this. But honestly, I'd love to have my own team. Looking at the four, it looked like a perfect team. Looking back down at the phone, I closed my eyes and inhaled. Opening my eyes, I tapped the team creation tab.
It opened a basic creation page like the name and other random info. I filled out the other info fields first. Mainly what the team was about.
After filling everything out, I went back to the team name. Looking at it, I took a decent amount of time to think of a name. After thinking very hard, I finally put something in.
"Team Savior…"
Upon entering the team's name, I looked over the info once more before accepting. It then processed it and once it was finished, my team was now live within the database so everyone can see it now. I checked my team page and noticed only one member, which was of course me. I looked at the four and shivered before speaking.
"U- um… Everyone…?"
They looked over to me.
"Yeah?" Scorch replied.
"I… Created my own team, and um… I wanted to know if you four wanted to join." I said.
"Already creating a team? I sorta like someone who gets things set up. So yeah…! We hadn't even created a team yet and we've been here for a year." Scorch said.
Scorch then took my phone and scanned his own card which seemed to have added him to my team. The other three accepted to join as well and scanned their own cards. When they were finished, Scorch handed my phone back as I looked at it. The four were now in my team.
"T- thanks…" I said.
"Of course…! Not sure why we hadn't even created a team yet. Why was that?" Scorch asked Cloud.
"Don't look at me. I came here to help resupply. So maybe that's why." She replied to him.
"Oh… Well then. Anyways, we're apart of a team now. I'm sorta excited." Scorch said.
Nodding, I turned my phone off and sat there, smiling softly.
"My very first team… I hope I do well…" I told myself.
For the rest of the day, we didn't really do anything. We just enjoyed ourselves. Well, they enjoyed themselves. I mostly just sat alone while watching TV.
When nighttime came, I just crawled into bed and let out a sigh. The others were still awake while I just sat there in the dark. Closing my eyes, I just relaxed and soon I fell asleep.
The next morning, I woke up and got up slowly. When I was up, I noticed everyone else was asleep. They must've been up nearly all night since it was nearly noon when I awoke.
All of a sudden, I heard a ding. It somewhat startled me as I looked towards where the noise came from. It came from my phone. Tilting my head, I picked it up and a light was flashing red. Confused, I scanned my card as my phone turned on. When I looked, I noticed a red bubble with a '1' inside it. This was still confusing as I tapped it. It then opened a screen with a single tap. The title said 'Welcome'.
"Oh… G- guess it's just a welcome message for joining the team…" I told myself and opened it.
It opened up as I looked at it.
"Welcome to Hexa Town. The town of explorations. This is a message to simply welcome new members and give basic info." The first line read.
It then went on for a bit more. Just explaining what the town was all about which I somewhat knew already. It didn't take long to finish the message since it just told me about everything. Gave me directions, info, tips and other random things that didn't really bothered me. I was still waking up so I couldn't really focused.
I just ended up closing the message and yawned while stretching before snuggling against the bed. My eyes could barely stay opened. I struggled for a bit before falling asleep again.
When I woke up around 4 PM, I felt more awake but felt a little sick from it. I got up slowly before walking out and seeing the others doing their own things. I didn't really want to interact with them, so I decided to walk outside. I walked down the road and went outside of the town and into the fields. I went about 100 feet from the town before laying down onto the grass as I stared up at the slightly cloudy sky. Inhaling deeply, I just stared and soon looked to the side.
"Don't really know how to feel about this… This just feels so new… Everyone also stares which makes me very uncomfortable…" I told myself.
Looking at my phone, I just sighed.
"S- so different here… I'm just unsure if I can do this… All the attention…" I said, shivering.
Sighing more, I curled into a ball and closed my eyes. It was hard.
"Scorch, Cloud, Ember and Shock… I have no idea. They seem okay… But I still feel nervous…" I spoke.
"Scorch, err… He seems nice enough. As well as Ember and Shock… They all seemed excited that I'm here. Scorch… A bit more then the others. Cloud though… She seems cold and distance to me… That just makes me feel weird and even more nervous…" I shook my head and laid there still.
Sitting up slowly after a minute, I just held my head and closed my eyes. I shook my head quickly again and stared up to the sky. I planned on staying out here for a bit. I just needed time. Time alone. Just some time to think. I'm really nervous and it caused me to shake gently. This was really hard for me.
"T- this sucks… But I don't want to leave…" I told myself.
Getting to my feet, I slowly walked around the fields which made me feel at peace. Being out here alone made me feel much better honestly. Nature does that to me. Walking out there alone made me remember the time I was with Mew. She visited a year ago because she found the most perfect location for someone like me. And she wasn't kidding.
The location she took me to was so colorful and filled with lush green fields, trees and many different flowers. She even joked that Xerneas was the one who created all of it. I never really knew him, but I know Xerneas creates all kinds of nature. Even things that can't normally form normally.
The tales I heard of him being able to create or revive anything nature wise kinda made me question him. But after seeing that beautiful land Mew showed me. It made me think Xerneas can actually do such a thing.
Closing my eyes slowly, I smiled.
"Miss that place… Hadn't visited there for a while… Just hope it's just as beautiful and peaceful as it was all that time ago…" I told myself softly.
Opening my eyes and slowly walking to a tree, I placed a paw on it.
"Hmm… I wonder if Mew will find me here… We were pretty close…" I said.
Mew and I were actually pretty close. She always visited quite commonly until she just stopped a year ago. She hadn't really visited much after last summer. It did confuse me, but I didn't think much of her. Just like most legends and mythical Pokemon, they have jobs to do. It is sad, but she must've gotten a more important role or something. Thinking of it, I never really knew what she did. Oh well.
Removing my paw from the tree, I smiled gently and turned back to look at the town within the distance.
"Hmm… Yeah, I guess I'll stay here for a bit…" I said.
Slowly backing from the trees, I went back to my spot and slowly laid down. I stared blankly up to the sky.
"Xerneas… Isn't he deep within Lunar Forest…? That place is like a maze. No idea how anyone can find where to go. Mew did say something about visiting him one time… And it was awful navigating that endless forest." I said.
I continued to think about Mew. I tried thinking hard of the last time I saw her. It was a little over a year I think. Around summertime. The last time I saw her. She was acting a tiny bit weird. Unlike herself. Back then, I thought she was busy with some stuff. She kinda just rushed and didn't let me speak.
"She… Was so weird that last time… She pretty much burst into my house before I could answer the door. I… I don't know… I hope she's okay…" I said.
I didn't know why I started thinking of this now. I guess since I'm so far away from home now, it started making me wonder. Mew was always very relaxed and quite quiet. But that last time. She spoke quickly. Loudly as well if I tried speaking. I sighed and tried shrugging it off.
I then stopped thinking and relaxed for about 2 hours. When I finally got up, I started walking back to the town. I kept my head down for most of the walk and as I walked through the town, I just walked silently. Everyone was doing their own things. Speaking and enjoying themselves. I know this will take time to adjust to.
When I walked into my house, I only noticed Scorch as he was playing some kind of game.
"Scorch…?" I spoke.
"Hey. Was wondering where you went." He said.
"Yeah, sorry… I just wanted to take a walk and all…" I replied.
"That's okay. The others are outside buying things. Wanna play?" He asked.
"N- no… That's okay. I'll just be in the room if you need me…" I said.
"Oh, alright. Is everything okay? Seem kinda distracted." He said, turning to face me.
"D- don't mind me. Just…" I stopped.
Scorch tilted his head. I just rubbed the back of my head nervously and looked to the side.
"D- don't worry, okay? I'm… Still adjusting…" I said.
"Oh… If you say so. If you need to talk, I'm here, okay?" He told me.
I slowly nodded and walked off. I walked into the room and laid on my bed. I stretched and yawned. I didn't really know what to think right now. Scorch really seemed to care. Which kinda makes me feel weird. But I am glad since I was afraid everyone will go crazy over seeing me.
Covering my eyes with my arm, I sighed deeply as I soon heard the door open. I peeked and noticed Scorch walking into the room. I decided not to speak as he jumped into his bed and pulling out a box from underneath his bed. He placed it in front of him and opened it. I heard him move around the items within the box as he soon stopped for a moment before speaking.
"Shaymin?" He asked.
Slowly unblocking my eyes, I looked over to him and looked. When I did, I came face to face with a 'Legends' book.
"Um…" I looked confused.
Scorch just smiled.
"I've had this book since I was very young. It was written by some Alo. A famous writer. He documented all the legendary and mythical Pokemon." He said.
"O- oh, nice." I replied, smiling weakly.
"I remember reading all about Shaymin. There was so much info on them. And when I finally saw a Shaymin… I nearly fainted." He said.
"H- heh…" I looked away.
Scorch looked away, a bit embarrassed.
"Yeah… It was awesome seeing you. Sorry if I came off too strong. I was just so excited to see someone like you." He said.
He then opened the book and showed me the page with me on it.
"I don't wanna make you uncomfortable, but it says you can heal. Sicknesses, injuries and all in between." He said.
"U- uh…" I looked down.
Closing my eyes and sighing, I spoke gently.
"I… Can't heal…"
He looked surprised but didn't freak out.
"Really? Why not?" He asked.
"I just… Can't…" I replied.
"O- oh… That's okay. I just found that the most interesting thing about them." He said softly.
He closed the book and placed it into his box before closing it.
"Sorry." I said.
"Oh, it's okay! Sorry to disturb you and all. Just wanted to show it you while I got something I needed." He said.
Nodding slowly, I kept laying there as Scorch got up.
"Well, I'll let you get some sleep if you need it." He said.
"O- okay…" I said.
He smiled and left, leaving me there. I slowly closed my eyes as I did fall asleep soon later...
