Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling what if...

I do not own the story Please feel at Ease Mr. Ling. I am only writing for entertainment purposes. This is truly fiction.

If you have not seen the show past episode 5 I would beware of spoilers.

This is my what if story...

Although I love this couple together I did not think I could forgive Ling Yue so easily as Anxin did. On these points:

Point Number 1:

She doesn't get much of an explanation for why he lied, only that he In the show she simply believes he exaggerated his injuries to get close to her for the shares.

I wanted to write a story that addressed this and had him explain more fully to her. I also had it happen right in the show interrupting their first kiss. The kiss in the show connected them and was the first big sign to Anxin that this could be more. She is unnerved by Eightie's flirting but this was something very concrete to her. I wanted to play around with if it didn't happen.

Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling what if... Chapter One

"You don't have any embarrassing pictures in here do you?" Anxin smiles holding the folder out teasingly. She was further away from him on the couch since she had scooted and in her excitement the papers came flying out onto the floor. "No- " " I'm sorry let me." she smiles. She bends down to pick them up and her eyes widen at his closeness. Anxin notices that he quickly tries to backpedal and downplay it. "No I got it..." and she can't help it, she glances down at what she sees. Anxin instinctively backs away blocking his outreached hands trying to understand his panic. Eightie slows down "Anxin ..." She at first relaxes that it isn't anything that looks nefarious then she sees her name.

"Hold on...That's me...what is this?"Anxin says slowly, surprised and he finally grabs the document from her. But not before she sees the paternity test in bold letters on there. He's looking into her family? Why? She told him the only family she was close to was her brother, why would he have this...what was going on... Who was this Ling Tian? The name sounded familiar but she couldn't place it. "Eightie... " she states getting upset but trying not to show it. Anxin couldn't help it. Her family was a sore spot. Sure she had a good life even though it was hard sometimes. Her job wasn't glamorous but it paid the bills. Anxin had friends her brother and her coworkers had come around mostly...Her family was such a big pain in her life and what they had done...it was better left alone. Her father hadn't been in her life before so why should it matter now who he was now? Axim had no known connection to him at all.

"Anxin please..." Eightie pleaded, grabbing her shoulders. "Can you explain why you have this?" She states leaning away from him. He pauses and she doesn't hear anything helpful, not that she imagined she would... Not even them living together made sense, or her crazy boss. Plus these tests take time don't they? This didn't add up at all.. Along with some other things. Why did Eightie never want to look for his family? Not knowing or being interested in finding out who he was. He was always finding money.

Even if Eightie had been willing to make up for all his previous trouble by updating her apartment (even going above and beyond with the new tv and computer and showing off to her coworkers) this was too much.. this violates her privacy without her consent. Anxin struggled with figuring out what her feelings with Eightie were, especially since he had saved her which made it all the more odd and unsettling.

"I... I can't." she stated. "You looked into my parentage without telling me?" Anxin tried to pull away. "Please, you need to understand..." She knew it was strange and cowardly but she couldn't help it. She ran. He must have been shocked too, plus carrying her must have cost him because once she broke away Eightie could only hobble after her. Anxin knew she should face it head on but she needed to collect herself first. And while she didn't know the full story of why, she knew that whatever his reasons it wasn't good.

Anxin walked around the park. She turned off her phone after it kept on insistently buzzing with calls and messages from Eightie. She wasn't sure if he had followed but she didn't stick around to find out. The stairs took him a while and she went to a hidden spot at a park that was further away. Anxin hoped he didn't know it. She got lunch and thought about it and then Axim came up with her plan. No matter what Eightie said he was leaving. Eightie had broken her trust and was clearly not all that he seemed to be. To do this and go looking that up about her without talking to her, unless...

Unless... Maybe Eightie thought he was helping? Anxin had kept it short mentioning only that there had been a rift and she was only close with her brother. Even if he didn't know who her adopted family was, wouldn't he wonder that she had to work so much to support herself? That she made no mention and had no contact with them? Obviously her family situation was complicated and shouldn't be dived into lightly by...whoever he was. Anxin couldn't shake the feeling she didn't know him as well as she thought she did. It didn't matter. She would pay for Eightie to get a hotel... he was mostly able to take care of himself so shouldn't need her nannying anymore. Hopefully it would just be a few weeks or so, then he would be healed enough to be fully independent. With her help moneywise over time and his skills he could find some sort of job and stay at the hotel until he could make further plans. It would take a long time to pay him back but she would. Anxin was a survivor. Maybe she could try her art skills some more see what she could do. If it could help her get out of debt faster she would work whatever job she could to pay him back yet keep him at a distance. Anxin wondered if she was being hasty but deep down she knew things would not be the same with whatever he was wanting to explain to her.

Anxin made up her mind. She was normally an easygoing person but she couldn't condone this and so she took out her phone figuring it was better to get this over with. She turned on her phone and flinched as multiple notifications of calls and messages popped up. Anxin Where are you? I can explain. Tell me where you are. She would ask him to meet her here. She needed a change from the memories they shared in her house. Plus she didn't want to distrust him but this really unsettled her enough that confronting him in her home didn't seem wise. Anxin didn't have to wait long and he was calling her and this time she picked up. "Eightie.. " "Axim...where are you.? Please...let me explain" he said in a rush. "The fountain off Temple street.." She stated quietly. She only heard him say "Okay I will come." before she hung up.

Anxin listened to the fountain trying to fortify herself with it's soothing sound and running her fingers through the water when he quickly came rolling up. "Anxin!" he exclaimed in relief. He soon was there. Anxin stared at him somehow knowing everything was about to change and she felt sadness. He tried placing his hand over hers but she soon shook it off. She hated herself because it did take a beat. You can't be drawn to him she told herself fiercely. He sighed. "Listen about what you saw.. I really don't know where to begin. I guess with who I am..." She then didn't expect at all what he was saying ...it came out in pieces. My name is Ling Yue...powerful Ling family.. company ..car accident... power struggle for top position ..think my brother or someone close to me is responsible...
