Sakura had been standing in the doorway for ten minutes now.
Sasuke had counted. He'd glanced at the clock as he'd heard the door open, but when he didn't hear her come in, he'd gone looking for her. They had boxes to unpack, stuff to put away, furniture to assemble - what in the world could have kept her there?
He'd half-expected to find the door open with just her shoe in the doorway, Sakura kidnapped by some monumentally stupid goon. But, no, there his wife stood, smiling stupidly at something that arrived in the mail.
His wife. The wedding cake might be long gone (thank goodness) and the honeymoon might be over (too bad), but the butterflies that had taken off when Sakura had walked down the aisle towards him fluttered again as he watched her stand in the entry way, grinning like a loon.
She was here. In their home.
To give the butterflies a chance to settle, he leaned against the wall and waited for her to realize that he was there. It took ten minutes.
"Sasuke-kun?" She jumped a little when she finally realized he'd gotten so close and was just standing there.
"What are you smiling at?"
"N-Nothing!" Sakura turned beet red and tried to hide the envelope behind her back, but Sasuke had anticipated her move. He distracted her with a quick kiss as he reached around her to grab the envelope out of her hands. "Hey!" Sakura protested against his lips.
Sasuke smirked, then broke the kiss and raised the envelope above her head, out of her reach so he could examine the evidence. Sakura tried to grab it back, but only succeeded in wrapping her arms around him. He frowned when he saw the contents of the envelope, though.
"Is there something wrong with your passport?" He asked, confused.
"N-No…," Sakura turned redder. She buried her face in his chest.
"Sakura," He prompted her when she refused to say anything, "Tsuma, tell me." He gently poked her forehead.
"Ah! Sasuke-kun!" She complained covering her forehead. Sasuke only continued to stare at her unblinkingly. She tried to stare back, but her blush crept further and further down her neck, until she huffed, "Mou! It's fine! I was just looking at my name."
Her name? Sasuke rubbed his fingers over the embossed text, next to her smiling face. Uchiha Sakura, what's wrong with-
"Shannaro!" Sakura snatched the passport out of his hand. She stuck her tongue out at him, "Hmph! Just for that, you get to make dinner, A-na-ta."
Anata!? This time, it was Sasuke's turn to stand frozen in the hallway for 10 minutes.
