Pokemon406: I have a few things to say. If you don't care then skip these bold letters but you'll miss out on important info.
Hikari: Well, I don't care so I'll come back later. (Leaves the room)
Corey: I'll stay!
Pokemon406: Great. Okay, first off pokemon can use more than four moves/attacks in this story. If you don't like this then here's your warning.
Pokemon406: Second, there will be OC moves/attacks in this story. Again if you don't like this then here's your warning.
Pokemon406: Third, at the moment I'm not sure I'll take any OCs. However, if you want your OCs to be used later in this story then leave me info about them in the review section or PM me.
Pokemon406: Fourth, Pokemon will be able to learn moves/attacks they can't normally learn.
Pokemon406: There's more but I would rather leave them a surprise ;)
Corey: (Gasps) He winked!

In a forest somewhere, a portal appeared and two figures fell out of it. The portal then disappeared and the two figures were revealed to be a mouse-like creature and a jackal-like creature. The two lay there motionless on the grassy forest floor for a few moments before one of them began to stir.
The jackal-like creature groaned before he sat up and gripped his forehead, a pained expression on his face."Ugh, why does my head hurt?"He asked no one in particular.
He then opened his eyes and looked at his hand because he felt it was off for some reason along with the rest of his body. His eyes widened at seeing a blue canine paw with a pink paw pad instead of a human hand. He then looked over the rest of his body to see he was covered in blue and black fur, the black fur being on his legs which were now digitigrade.
"I'm a Riolu! Why am I a Riolu?!"He thought, beginning to hyperventilate which he noticed immediately and took deep breaths to calm himself down."Panicking won't solve anything."
Once Riolu got his breathing under control"Okay, there must be a logical explanation for why I'm a fictional creature right now and not a human being."He thought, trying to be reasonable but knew something like this was anything but logical.
"What was I doing before this happened?"Riolu thought and tried to remember events before this but his memory was hazy.
He remembered him and his friend walking home after a day of school. They were walking through the park when something happened. He tried harder to recall what happened next but only succeeded in getting a headache.
"Where am I?"He thought, deciding to focus on how he became like this later.
He looked around to see he was in some forest, where exactly he couldn't tell. Sunlight was seeping through the trees above him, so it was day and not night. He frowned at this, he could be in the middle of nowhere. Far from someone who could help him. He looked around more and spotted a mouse-like creature not too far away from him.
His eyes widened at seeing them."A Pikachu! Where did it...wait could it be…"He briefly wondered before he stood up with his new legs which felt wobbly and slowly walked over to the Pikachu. Once he was at the Pikachu's side, he dropped to his knees and tried waking it up by shaking its shoulder.
"Hey! Wake up!"He said to the sleeping rodent.
He heard a groan from the Mouse Pokemon and pulled back to give him some space. Pikachu gripped his head in pain and stood up shakily.
"You alright, Nate?"Riolu asked the electric-type.
"Yeah, it's just my head hurts,"Pikachu replied before opening his eyes and looking at who said his name. He blinked then stared at the Riolu for a long moment before exclaiming."Oh, my gosh, a Riolu! You look so cute! I wanna pet you!"He reached out with his right hand to touch the jackal Pokemon but it stopped his hand with a paw and gave him an unamused expression.
"Two things. One, I am not a pet dog and second I am not cute."He replied in response.
Pikachu's eyes widened at Riolu's voice."...Shizuko is that you?"He questioned in an unsure tone.
The Emanation Pokemon nodded."Why are you a Riolu? And..."Nate just noticed his hand wasn't human anymore."...am I a Pikachu?"His friend nodded in confirmation.
A wide smile slowly stretched across the Pikachu's face before he began jumping up and down all over the place, while excitedly screaming 'Yes!' over and over again.
Shizuko shook his head at his friend's behavior."Of course you wouldn't freak out at this. You always dreamed of something like this happening."He thought.
He noticed the Pikachu's cheeks suddenly spark with yellow electricity, he had moments to react before lightning was shot out in all directions. He yelped and dove to the ground to avoid the lightning and yelled for his friend to stop. Nate blinked in confusion and stopped moving, the electricity from his cheeks promptly stopping as well.
"Shizuko, why are you on the ground?"Nate asked his friend.
"To avoid getting hit by an electric attack from an electric rodent!"He replied as he stood up.
"I almost hit you with an electric attack,"The Riolu nodded in response."Cool!"He said in an amazed tone, his eyes sparkling.
Shizuko facepalmed at this then asked."What do you remember before waking up here, Nate?"
The Pikachu scratched his chin and closed his eyes for a moment in thought then said."Hmm, I remember us walking home from school. We were gonna play some video games and I was gonna kick your ass."Shizuko rolled his eyes at this."We were walking through the park when...I can't remember."Nate finished, causing Shizuko to sigh.
Him and his friend basically remembered the same amount of stuff before they ended up here, so he still had no clue on why they were pokemon and why they were in a forest.
"Oi!"Nate yelled, catching Shizuko's attention."Got any ideas on what we should do now?"
Shizuko looked to be in thought for a few seconds before he replied."Hmm...well we should look for a sign of civilization and look for a place to stay before going from there."Nate nodded in agreement to this before the two pokemon walked off in a random direction, hoping it would lead to somewhere with people.

Shizuko and Nate walked in silence as they went through the forest. However, the silence was soon broken by Nate wanting to start up a conversation.
"So, you think we're still in our world or Pokemon?"
"Not sure. I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary yet to figure out we're in the pokemon world so we could be still in our world."Shizuko replied then looked to be in thought.
If they were still in their world then they would have to stay hidden due to being creatures from a TV show and video game series. Although, that would make it hard to find help but it would be better than being dissected or kept in a government lab.
If they were in the pokemon world with humans in it then getting help would be hard due to humans not understanding poke and trainers being too busy trying to catch them to listen to what they have to say.
If they were in the pokemon world without humans then it would make it easier to find help due to not needing to hide or avoid trainers but who believe them about being humans and from another world. They would call them crazy and turn over to the authorities.
"Well, I hope we're in the world of pokemon because then I could actually fight pokemon for real rather than behind a screen!"Nate said, doing a couple quick jabs at the air.
The Emanation Pokemon chuckled at his friend's actions, finding them amusing. He was about to say something when a bush to their right suddenly rustled wildly causing them to stop. A figure rushed out of the bushes and stopped in front of the duo, the figure being revealed to be a quadrupedal creature. Its body is primarily covered in gray fur with a black face, throat, paws, and belly. Its eyes were red with yellow sclera, and it had a red nose. It looked at the duo and growled menacingly.
"Looks like your wish came true, Nate."Shizuko said in an even tone while Nate smirked.
"Alright! Come and get some fido!"The Pikachu said, looking ready to fight.
The hyena-like creature snarled at the two before lunging at them and tried to bite one of the two but they dodged by quickly diving to the side. Nate was back on his feet and upon the creature.
"Take this!"Nate exclaimed as he assaulted them with a couple of punches to the face before backing off to avoid getting bit by its jaws."You're not so tough!"He said, noticing it panting harder and struggling to stand after his assault.
It growled before howling loudly, causing Shizuko to feel unease."I have a bad feeling about this."He thought and was proved right when not too long after the hyena's howl, the bushes around them shook before several more of the creature emerged from them.
Nate scoffed at this."Pfft! So, six more showed up, we got this!"He said, confidently.
The bushes shook once again and this time, a quadruped creature bigger than the others appeared emerged. It had mostly short gray fur but had shaggy black fur on its lower legs, tail, and in two thick strips starting behind its eyes and running the length of its body. It has dark, triangular streak patterns below its eyes, which are red with yellow sclera. It also had a red nose.
Shizuko glanced over at his friend and glared at him for opening his big mouth. Nate in return chuckled and smiled apologetically back. The newest arrival howled loudly, triggering the rest of them attack the two. The two friends did their best to avoid the pack's onslaught but they could only dodge for so long. Eventually, one of them ended up sinking their teeth in Nate's tail, causing the Pikachu to yelp in pain and halt his movements.
"Ow! Let go!"He yelled then punched it in the face, hoping it would get it off his tail. Unfortunately, it held on and worse, the others of its pack saw an opportunity and tackled the rodent, pinning him to the ground.
"Nate!"Shizuko yelled and tried to rush to his aid but was blocked off by three of the hyenas."Out of the way!"They only growled in response, not moving an inch.
"Not the face!"Nate shouted.
They were about to bite and claw the Pikachu when they were suddenly blasted off him by a big fireball. Shocked, Shizuko and Nate turned to the direction the fireball came from to see a tall bipedal fox-like creature holding a stick with the tip set a flame. They had long dark red fur that resembled a robe with red-orange flame-like markings near their knees. Around their torso was a thin tuft of white fur, which is flanked by yellow fur draping their shoulders. Their forearms resembled sleeves, and their hands and feet were dark gray with three clawed fingers and toes, respectively. Three tufts of red-orange fur protrude out of each ear. Lastly, they had red eyes and a slender snout with a pinkish nose.
"You boys need some?"The fox asked in a feminine voice with a smirk on its face.
"A Delphox!"Shizuko thought in surprise as the hyenas in front of him growled then went to attack the newcomer.
Delphox calmly waited for the three to get enough then causally sidestepped to the side and waved her wand, firing a stream of flames at them. The flames circled the hyenas, surrounding and trapping them. She then waved her wand again, the fire surrounding them spread and grew large enough to engulf them before exploding. When they were visible again, it was revealed that they had fainted then something strange happened. Their form distorts, phasing in and out, for a moment before disappearing much to Shizuko and Nate's surprise.
Delphox didn't seem deterred by this and turned her attention to the large hyena. She waved her wand again, sending a stream of flames this time at them. Her eyes widened in surprise when it suddenly disappeared only to reappear beside her and bite into her right arm. She winced in pain before punching it in the snout, it yelped in response and let go of her arm. She then aimed her wand at its face and hit it with a point-blank Flamethrower, sending it flying far away from her. When it landed on the ground, it had swirls in its eyes and its form distorted for a bit before disappearing much like the others.
"It disappeared too. Were those pokemon actually real or illusions?"Shizuko wondered as he stared where the hyena once was.
Since they were safe now, Delphox stored her wand in her left sleeve and was about to check on the Pikachu to see if he was alright, only to jump in surprise at him appearing in front of her. He started praising excitedly before it became gibberish.
She chuckled then asked him."Could you hold still for a second?"He stopped talking and did as she asked. She looked over the Pikachu for a bit before she said."A few bite marks and scratches but other than that you should be okay."
"Could you get your friend to come over here so I can check him?"She asked him.
Nate nodded before yelling for his friend to come over. When he didn't respond, he came over to him and noticed he was lost in thought. He grinned before putting a finger in his mouth then stuck said finger in the Riolu's ear. The effect was immediate, Shizuko's eyes widened before he jumped away from the Pikachu.
"Gah! Why do you always do that?!"He exclaimed in disgust, glaring at his friend.
"Because it's funny,"Nate replied simply. His friend groaned in response."That Delphox lady wants to see if you're hurt."He nodded before the two went over to Delphox. Like Nate, she looked him over for any injuries and found he had none.
"So, mind telling me what you two are doing out here?"She asked them.
Shizuko froze at this, unsure about what to tell her. Nate on the other hand, smiled and said."No idea."Much to the Riolu's shock.
Delphox frowned at this."You mean you don't know how you two got here?"
He shook his head negatively."All we remember is walking through the park before waking up in this forest."He replied to her.
Delphox gave the duo a look of suspicion, making Shizuko's feel nervous. However, after a long moment she sighed before she said."Follow me."
"To where?"
"To town or do you know the way,"She replied then turned around and continued walking.
Nate followed immediately while Shizuko took a moment to process what she said, then once he realized he was getting left behind he hurried to catch up with them.

"So, what's your name, fox lady?"Nate asked Delphox curiously as they were walking.
"Kitsune,"She replied in a monotone."And you two are?"
"Nathan, but call me Nate!"He answered enthusiastically.
"Shizuko,"He answered.
"Why do you think those pokemon attacked us earlier?"Nate asked, looking at Shizuko who shrugged in response having no clue.
"You mean you don't know what those things were?"Kitsune questioned, causing the two to look at her.
"Pokemon. What else would they be?"Nate replied, like it was obvious.
"Yes and no,"She noticed their confused expression and continued."They're creatures that only appear in mystery dungeons. We call them the Husks."
"Husks? That name sounds so boring!"Nate exclaimed.
"Well, I didn't choose it,"
"I can come up with a better name,"He looked to be in thought for a bit."I know I'll call them Dungeon Pokemon!"He declared dramatically.
Shizuko rolled his eyes at this while Kitsune looked amused."Anyway, Husks or Dungeon Pokemon look like pokemon but aren't. They are incredibly aggressive towards pokemon and attack on sight."
"Hold on a second, if they only appear in mystery dungeons then how come we found them outside of one?"Nate asked, looking confused.
"Husks used to only appear in mystery dungeons until recently, we began finding them outside of dungeons. We don't know why this is happening or the cause. All we can do is watch our backs and be more careful when we're traveling."She finished in a solemn tone.
"So, what's the name of the town we're going to?"
"Emerald Town,"
"Oh! Is it called that because you can find all kinds of gems there?"He asked her in an excited tone.
"No, I don't know, maybe? I never asked."She replied then asked."Mind if I ask you, boys, a question?"They shook their heads negatively."What are you two planning on doing once we get to town?"
"Get something to eat,"The Pikachu replied, his stomach growling in response.
Kitsune glanced over at the Riolu for his answer."Look for a place to stay until we figure out a way back home."Shizuko answered.
"And you plan on staying where exactly?"She questioned.
"We…We don't know."He responded, looking down at the ground with his ears drooping.
The Delphox stared at him for a second before she said."Well, I think I know a place you two can stay."
Shizuko looked surprised by this."You don't have to find a place for us!"
"Oh, but I insist. I'll be able to sleep easy knowing two kids have a place to sleep for the night."She told him, looking at him with a wide smile.
The Riolu looked to still protest this, so Nate interjected."Dude, she's offering a place for a stay. We don't have anywhere else to go so just let it happen."
Shizuko sighed, knowing he was right."Fine."

The trio continued walking for a few minutes until they exited the forest. Shizuko and Nate looked around for a moment then spotted a rural-looking town not too far in the distance. One of them asked Kitsune if that was the town they were going to and she nodded before they made their way there.
When they got to town, Shizuko and Nate looked at their surroundings, one in intrigue and the other in awe. Around the three Pokemon, there were human-like building structures and various pokemon, some familiar and unfamiliar, doing things like talking to each other, going into shops, or just walking somewhere. Kitsune giggled at their expressions and then told them to follow her. They followed her until they came upon a building that looked like a cafe and had the words 'Kitsune Cauldron' on the top.
They walked into the building and the two friends inspected their new surroundings. There were a couple of tables with chairs. The floor was wooden and painted brown while the walls were beige colored. They stopped looking around when they were suddenly greeted by a cheerful feminine voice saying.
"Welcome to Kitsune Cauldron!"
Shizuko and Nate looked in the direction the voice came from to see a quadruped fox-like creature wearing a uniform. Their body was primarily brown. The tip of their tail and their large furry collar were cream-colored. They had short, slender legs with three small toes. They had brown eyes, long pointed ears with dark brown interiors, and a small black nose. The uniform they wore consisted of a red hat, black tie, and a yellow apron with a white paw print at the bottom.
The fox noticed Kitsune and spoke again."Oh, hi Kitsune! How was your patrol?"She asked her as the Delphox approached her with Shizuko and Nate following behind her.
"Dull until I found these two being attacked by Husks,"She said, gesturing to the two behind her.
"Oh, hello! I'm Amber! What are you boys' names?"Amber asked the two.
"Nathan, but call me Nate!"He answered, smiling widely.
"Shizuko,"He answered with a small smile.
"Amber, is Fuji still here?"The Eevee nodded in response."Good! Fuji, could you come here for a second!"She yelled to her left.
A few moments later, a large dragon-like creature wearing the same uniform as Amber emerged from a doorway. Their body was primarily orange with a cream underside from the chest to the tip of their tail. They had a long neck, small blue eyes, slightly raised nostrils, and two horn-like structures protruding from the back of their rectangular head. Two large wings with blue-green undersides sprout from their back, and a horn-like appendage juts out from the top of the third joint of each wing. Their arms were short and skinny, and each limb has three white claws. stocky legs with cream-colored soles on each of its plantigrade feet. Lastly, the tip of its long, tapering tail burns with a sizable flame. They looked at her and grunted as if asking a question.
"Can you whip something up for these boys?"She asked him. He grunted in response before leaving back through the doorway. She smiled at this then turned her attention to Shizuko and Nate."While he is preparing you boys something to eat, I'll show you where you will be staying."
She led them to the back of the cafe to a staircase that led up to the attic. They went up the staircase and once they were on the attic floor, the two friends looked at their new surroundings. The attic floor was spacious with black-painted wood flooring. A couple of brown cardboard boxes were scattered around the room, a large shelf with stuff on it, a bench, a work desk, and finally a bed.
"Sorry about the mess. I haven't been up here in a while."Kitsune said, rubbing the back of her head.
"Well, we don't mind a little cleaning right, Nate."Shizuko received no response."Nate?"He turned to his friend to see he was gone. He looked around the room and spotted the Pikachu lying on the bed asleep.
"Wow! I didn't know your friend was that tired!"She said, a little surprised.
"Oh, yeah when it comes to cleaning, he's suddenly out of energy."He told her before sighing, he should have seen that coming.
"Need any help cleaning?"She offered and the Riolu shook his head negatively in response."Alright then, I'll tell you when the food's done."She said then began walking back downstairs but was stopped by Shizuko.
"Wait! Thank you, Kitsune. I promise you we'll find a way to repay you for your hospitality."He told her. Kitsune didn't say anything in response and just continued walking down the steps.
Sometime later, Kitsune yelled from downstairs that the food was ready. This had awoken a certain Mouse Pokemon who jumped off the bed and dashed downstairs to eat. Shizuko calmly followed after his friend. The two eagerly ate the food prepared for them by Fuji. Once they were done eating, Kitsune spoke to them.
"Okay, I'm gonna lock up the store. You two are not allowed to leave until I come back in the morning. Do you understand me?"They nodded in response."Great! See you two in the morning!"She told them before exiting the cafe.
After she left, Nate got up from the table and stretched then said."I think I'll turn in the day for."
"It's not even that late yet,"Shizuko told him as he began walking away.
"Don't care. Good night,"Nate replied before he was out of sight.
The Riolu shook his head at this, not understanding his friend sometimes."How did we end up in this world? Did something or someone send us here and if so for what purpose?"He looked at his reflection on the table."And why were we turned into Pokemon…not that I'm complaining?"These thoughts swirled around in Shizuko's head until eventually, he decided to get some shut-eye as well and retired to the attic.

Pokemon406: I know some of you might not like this rewrite but I felt it was necessary for what I had in mind.
Pokemon406: So, what do guys think of what I've done with Pokemon that appear in mystery dungeons? They aren't really talked about in the games so, I came up with this. If you wanna learn more about what I have planned then continue reading.
Pokemon406: Also, I know someone might ask this in the reviews. The reason why Kitsune let Shizuko and Nate live in the cafe attic is because...Pokemon are just simply nicer than humans. That's all I'm gonna say.
Hikari walks in: I'm back! Did I miss any action?
Corey: Yeah! Shizuko and Nate fought a pack of Poochyena led by a Mightyena!
Hikari: Did they win?
Corey: No, they had to be saved by a Delphox.
Hikari: Okay, anything else?
Corey: Nope!
Hikari: Then I missed nothing. Great!
Pokemon406 grumbles something under his breath: Until next time, Pokemon406 signing out(Salutes at camera then disappears using Instant Transmission)
Hikari: Hikari signing out(Does victory sign at camera then disappears in a flash of white light)
