I couldn't stay here, I was killing my father with my apathy, my depression was killing him.
Since "they" have left, I feel utterly empty, broken.
As I sat there in my old ratty joggers and ratty cardigan, I suddenly felt like I couldn't breathe.
My door slammed open and there stood my dad with a stranger. Not a stranger, Uncle Peter Whitlock, and his brother. "Jasper" I croaked in tears as he fell to his knees in front of me. "Forgive me, Bella I screwed up so badly" he said as he too teared up.
"I wasn't good enough for your brother. I am a nobody! I might as well be dead. Why didn't he just drain me of my blood, why didn't you?" I sobbed into Jasper's shoulder.
"Don't you ever say that to me again, Bella, you are worth it. I told you that in the hotel, don't let Ed…. him, do this to you, Bella, you are worthy of love. The party that my bitch of a wife threw you for your 18th was a set-up, and I wasn't aiming to kill you, I was trying to stop Edward from killing you!"
That made me stop crying in shock.
"What do you mean?"
"Think about it Bella, he controlled your every move, to keep his blood supply close by"

Uncle Peter smiled as he tapped his head "Smart girl, you finally figured it out"
"Did you see what he and Alice would do?" Peter shook his head
"Alice had her own reasons for doing what she did, Bells, anyway my powers are mostly like a warning alarm system, they're more like Spidey-senses that get stronger if I'm in the vicinity of the danger.
"She was jealous of Edward" I said finally realising that this is what 'they' wanted
Peter took my hand "Bella, they intend to turn you over to the Volturi, because you're a witch and a powerful shield. We have a plan to get you safe, it involves a move, and we will close a sale quickly, sell the house for you and your dad. I have a feeling that you will meet someone who will cherish you, and love you the way that you deserve to be loved"
"Oh Peter, how optimistically cocky you are?" I raised my eyebrow and snorted
"It's true, I have a friend who is perfect for you, if you go to Mystic falls"
"Bella, do yourself a favour, start living your life in a new place, and love will follow afterwards, when you are ready, for now, have a shower and eat something, because, seriously, little niece, you smell bad"
"Peter, please, use some diplomacy for my sake" My dad groaned as he ran his hands down his bearded face.
"No, he's right, dad, I'm just amazed he had the balls to say that to my face."
Jasper guffawed "She's got your number, brother"
"Hey, I can be diplomatic" Peter winked at me
"Yeah, in your next life, maybe" Jasper laughed "Okay, don't break my house" I complained as I stood up.
"Shower, Bella, then eat, even if it's just soup and bread for now" my dad said sternly
"Yes, I will, you must promise to eat with me, dad, I know how little you've eaten over the past few weeks. I am so sorry for putting you through this hell."
"You were broken, Bella, I thought I had lost you" Charlie's voice broke as tears fell from his eyes. I hugged him tightly
"I'm not broken, dad, I had a mental breakdown. But I will come back from this, I promise, please don't cry, otherwise I'll cry, then we'll drown in our tears." That made my dad laugh.
"Best not cry anymore then, huh"
