Once Haley had checked in and got through security she was able to relax before having to board her flight.

Nathan on the other hand was sitting in the back on the cab praying it would get through the NYC traffic, so he wouldn't miss his flight back to Tree Hill.

"Hi Quinn, oh I'm just sitting in the departures lounge waiting on the flight to board."

"Great I can wait to see you Haley bob and hear all about your trip."

"I can't wait to see you either."

Nathan finally made it to the airport and having check in online, he was able to run right to security.

Haley had smoothly gotten onto the plane and located her seat. She was now making herself comfortable hoping she would have the row to herself.

Final call for flight ILM2312 to Tree Hill

Nathan heard the final call as he finally made it to the gate and joined up with the last few people boarding.

Haley sat quietly as she watched the last few people walk passed her to find their seats. It wasn't till a pair of sparkling blue eyes made contact with her chocolate brown eyes. That she realised she would indeed be sharing her row.

"Hi Hales," he spoke as he took the aisle seat leaving a seat between them.

Her heart skipped a beat and her stomach was doing flips. When she heard he used the nickname he had branded her with back in high school.

"Hi Nathan," she spoke softly while watching him get comfortable in his seat.

"Let's hope it's a smooth ride back to Tree Hill," he commented with a little smirk on his face, glancing over at her.

The pilot came on over the loudspeaker to let them know they were ready for take off and the safety briefing.

"You always were a book worm," Nathan spoke breaking the silence between.

"Excuse me!" She questioned looking over the top of her glasses at her with a stern look on her face.

"Come on Hales. Back in high school when you were tutoring me, you always had your head in a book."

"Yeah well yours was always attached to whatever girl you were sleeping with that week." She spat back a little annoyed.

"I didn't mean to annoy you. I'm just saying how I remembered you. I liked that you weren't like the girls I dated in high school." He replied honestly meeting her eyes quickly. Before reaching over and giving her hand a light reassuring squeeze.

"Thank you. Sorry about my comment just now," she answered back softly. Couldn't help wondering what he meant by that.

"Don't worry Hales. What you said was exactly how I was in high school." He spoke with Laughter in his voice.

"So speaking of girls, who's the lucky girl you finally settled for?" She asked curiously watching his features change instantly.

"Um I don't have a girl currently. I have actually been single for a while. As for the girl I would like to settle down with. I hope I get a chance to reconnect with her," he explained to her.

"Still a man of mystery Mr Scott," she spoke with a smile.

"As always, enough about me, I'm sure seven years on your at least married," he spoke looking back at her.

"Nope," she spoke showing him her n*** ring finger.

"Boyfriend at least?," He questioned a little surprised by her answer.

"Not currently. So I guess that makes us both single," she spoke smiling at him while her heart was going million miles a minute.

Please prepare for landing the pilot spoke over the loudspeaker.

"I guess it does. Hales I was wondering do you think I could get you number and maybe we could meet up again sometime?" He asked hoping she would agree.

"Sure," she spoke scribbling down on one of the pages in her notebook. Before ripping it out and giving it to him.

"Thanks, Do you need me to reach your bag?" He asked getting up and opening the overhead locker.

"It's the blue one," she commented to him.

"Here you are," he spoke lifting it down for her before grabbing his own.

"Thanks, ready to go?" She questioned making sure she had gathered up all her stuff.

"Ready," he replied as they walked off the plane together and into the airport.

"So I guess I'll see you soon," she spoke as they made it to the front of the airport.

"I'll call you," he replied before they said their final goodbyes, going their separate ways.
