Disclaimer- And here I am with yet another Transformers Fanfic. This time featuring a OC x Character ship. Yeah, Yeah I know one of those types of fics. What can I say? I'm a sucker for this kind of thing. But, rambling aside as you can gather I only own the plot. Transformers itself belongs to Hasbro. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter One of My Life As I Knew It. I hope you enjoy.
Chapter One: Test Subject
Silas was exhausted. An effect of many sleepless nights. A cup of coffee clutched in his hands, as he looked up at his newest masterpiece. Laying on the table before him lay a lifeless husk of a machine. A machine similar the living machines, or it would be...Silas thought, as he moved towards it. Taking in the sight of the dark purple and silver form. It was large, slightly larger than the Autobot named Arcee, but only slightly. Compared to any of the other living machines it was rather small. Not that it would matter, Silas thought, turning away from it to watch as one of his men walked up to him. A report clutched in his hands.
"What's the status?" Silas asked, eager to get his newest project up and running. Despite his excitement he knew there was still much to be done. Before MECH had initially wanted to make a machine they could pilot, but that idea had soon been scrapped. Until one of his men had come up with an idea. An idea Silas actually liked.
The young man had suggested they find away to upload someone's conscious into the lifeless husk before them. Something, to make it more than a machine. But the main problem was find the right candidate. MECH had been trying to find one in their ranks, but alas no such luck. Much to the disappointment of Silas and his men. But never less they were determined. If none of his men were compatible then they would have to look elsewhere. And currently they had a possible candidate.
"We may have found our perfect test subject." The solder said, handing the report to him.
Taking the report from his his eyes scanning the file. They had found a viable candidate. Silas continued to look at the report of a young woman in the area. Placing a hand on his chin as he read through the file of one Marley Jones. Age: Twenty Five. Occupation: College student.
"We've been scouting the area." The soldier said. "And she seems to be the most viable candidate."
Looking up from the file Silas felt a smile creep to his face. His eyes taking the picture of the young woman. Noting the fiery hair and bright green eyes staring back at him. Freckles dusting her cheeks, Silas couldn't help but wonder if this Marley knew what he had in store for her, and if so would she smile so freely?
No matter, Silas thought handing the report back to him. In a short while she would be in a whole new body, and living a whole new life. He hoped she would be cooperative. After all... It wasn't like she had a choice...
She was exhausted. Marley stifled a yawn as she walked through the halls of her school, arms laden with books. "Man, that class seemed to drag." She muttered to herself, as she made her way to her dorm.
Eager to grab a quick nap before trying to climb Mount Homework. Before any of that she needed to get out of here. Staying confined within the walls of her school was beginning to drive her batty. So before anything else she needed a breath of fresh air. Reaching her dorm room she unlocked the door, noticing that her roommate was gone. Obviously out and about with her friends.
Marley heaved a sigh. Don't get her wrong she liked her roommate. Ashley. But the blonde was the type who was always too happy and bubbly for her liking. And the fact that she always, always needed to have her friends around her, even in the dorm. Thus making it hard for poor Marley to study.
Thankfully Ashley had been understanding when Marley had asked her to stop. Speaking of friends, Marley gnawed on her bottom lip as she looked around her side of the room. Taking in the various pictures of her and her friends. Sadly, unlike Ashley all of Marley's friends had either moved away or lost contact with her all those years ago. Marley heaved another sigh as she placed her books on her desk. Before plopping down on her bed, eyes fixed on the ceiling before drifting closed. The thought of going for that walk disappearing as sleep overtook her.
Hours had past as Silas waiting somewhat eagerly to hear from his men that they had obtained their target. Leaning back in his seat he had read and reread the report of their target. From what he could gather from it was that Marley was a creature of habit. Attending school for most of the day, then spending a few hours out of school. Obviously their girl loved walking the streets at night.
Silas chuckled, didn't she know that walking the streets alone was dangerous?
Marley couldn't put her finger on it, but she had this bad feeling. Like she was being followed, biting down on her bottom lip Marley looked over her shoulder for the umpteenth time, seeing nothing out of the ordinary and nothing that would make her feel this way. She did note that the streets did seem kind of quiet. Thankfully there were at least a few people out and about tonight, reassuring her that she wasn't alone.
But still the unnerving feeling of being watched stuck to her. Scanning the area once more she forced herself to continued on. The soft summer breeze ruffling her hair as she tucked a stray strand behind her ear. It was the exhaustion getting to her. That nap had done nothing for her. Hell, she was certain that the school was sucking the life right out of her.
But she knew it would eventually be worth it. She would graduate with a nice juicy engineering degree and then her life would finally start. And what next? Marley didn't know but that was a thought for another time. However, before she could dwell on that thought any further. The sound of a car pulling up beside her jerked her her from her thoughts. Looking up her mouth dropped open when she found herself staring up at a masked man staring back at her. A gun of some kind pointed right at her.
"W-wait!" She stammered out, holding up her hands as she took a few steps away. "I-if it's money you want I could get you some. J-just don't hurt me-" Before she could finish that sentence the masked man pulled the trigger, and there was a bright flash of light then...Nothing...
"Silas," the soldier said, looking down at the prone form of their target. "Target secured. Returning to base." Excitement filling the soldiers chest as they loaded the unconscious woman into the car. In a mere few hours their plans would come into fruition and they would soon have a living machine of their own...
