Welcome to the story my friends! Before You begin I want to run through some warnings. First of all this is an Omegaverse and in this universe there are a lot of discrimination against omegas. Although there are many normal omegas that live normal lives there are also breeding facilities that produce high ranked omegas and sell them to the upperclassmen. The amount of omegas and the quality of these omegas is a big factor in ranking alphas in a sort of hierarchy. Because of this there are a lot of mentions of twelve year old omegas being sold off to live in harems although I don't go into too much detail about that fact. Going off that there is also mentions of "defective" omegas being sold of to brothels at that same age, again it is not very detailed. If these things make you uncomfortable I would suggest being careful if you continue reading. Another major, possibly more important warning, this story contains Mpreg and stillbirths. I know this can be very triggering and it is a rather big part of the plot, I would not suggest reading if this kind of content will trigger you. Beyond that all triggers will be mentioned in a header like this before the start of chapters so you don't accidentally stumble onto anything you aren't prepared for. Take care of yourselves, thank you for reading this far and I hope you enjoy the story!

They were both supposed to be perfect, bred from the best omega and alpha combination available. A set of identical omega twins born, raised and trained in the best breeding facility in the region. They'd been told ever since they were born that they'd be sold together, their master would want them together. They were twins, not individuals. That was the plan. A future of promise brotherly companionship that was destroyed in only a single night, a night where they knew it'd be the last time they ever saw each other.

Roman and Remus were kept with the other young omegas of their age. The constant exposure to the other's hormones, as well as the heat inducers they'd recently been lacing in their food, would encourage all of them to begin their heats at relatively the same time so they could all be sold at a single given time. The first omega of their year had already gone into heat so it was only a matter of days before they were all taken to auction and sold to their new masters. It was something they all eagerly awaited, excited to get a new home and a master to serve.

Roman watched his brother who had never quite calmed down with age, despite their overlords scolding him for his antiques. Currently he was attempting to do some sort of gymnastics. Roman wanted to join him but he didn't like when the overlords scolded him. He just had to be the perfect, elegant omega others expected him to be. They were twelve now after all, it was only normal for him to behave like a proper mature omega. If he was always on his best behavior it would make up for Remus, they were connected so they'd balance each other out. Roman's attention was taken away from his; twin when he heard his and Remus's name being mentioned somewhere. Roman's keen cat ear swiveled as he tried to find the origin. It seemed it was some of the overlords talking. Perhaps they'd already had a buyer without the auction. Roman had seen a few people visit the facility and pick out omegas before the auctions before so they could have them during their first heat. Roman's tail flicked excitedly as he slipped over towards the center office listening in on the conversation.

"-and Remus isn't ready yet. With his temperament, I don't think he ever will be."

Roman froze as he heard one of them speak. This didn't sound like a master had chosen them.

"What are you suggesting?" The second voice asked.

"Roman will be sold off as an individual. It's rare we even get an omega from an alpha and omega mix, much less one with excellent temperament and with the kind of scent he is already developing. He is worth much more than any of the others," the first replied.

"I thought you said that we'd make more from selling them as a pair? Adding in the idea of having two identical siblings would definitly attract a lot of attention," The second countered.

"No, we'd have to take off for Remus and it'd inevitably lower the value of Roman as an individual," the first reasoned. "He's too unruly and misbehaved. No alpha wants to display an omega with no etiquette."

"Then what will we do with the younger twin? Keep him here to have children for us?" the second asked.

"Not with that temperament. We'll sell him off to the brothel at the lower end of town. He'll at least make us some money there."

Roman held his hands over the mouth to silence his cries of surprise. Being sent to the brothel was seen as a punishment for only the failures of the batch. His brother wasn't a failure, just because he didn't have the best manners and he was a bit too energetic didn't outweigh all of his good qualities. The brothel was supposedly a bad place to live, the omegas there didn't live very long, healthy lives unless they were one of the favorites and even then their mental health tended to slip. He couldn't let it happen, he couldn't let it happen to his brother.

He quietly slipped away from the door as the two of them continued to talk until they left the room, the door bouncing off of the doorframe, thus not locking behind them. Roman swallowed down a lump in his throat but he knew what he had to do. He slipped into the room. He knew there was a camera in here but he also knew it wouldn't be checked unless they thought something was wrong. All of the omegas were trained to obey and want to be sold, no one had ever even tried to escape. When they looked back at the cameras later, they wouldn't be able to tell if it was Roman or Remus, he was wearing a shirt so the branding tattoo on his right shoulder wouldn't give away the fact he was the older twin as they put his and Remus's branding on opposite shoulders for identification purposes. He dug around through all of the belongings in the room, careful to put them back in the right places so no one would be able to tell he had been there until later, after it was too late. He found a wallet and stole twenty dollars out of it and slipped a map out of one of the folders of files on the shelves. Then he took a single dose of suppressants out of stores they kept in the upper drawers before hiding all of it under his shirt and slipping back out into the common area. There were no cameras in there, they figured there were so many people around no one would get up to anything that would break any rules. Roman knew if he was going to tell Remus his plan it'd have to be here. He found his brother still attempting a handstand near the edge of the room and ran over. Upon seeing the distressed look on Roman's face his arms buckled and he fell onto the ground, only to jump up a second later.

"Ro-Ro?" Remus asked confusedly.

Roman pressed a finger to his lips before using that hand to draw him a little further away from everyone.

"Ro-Bro, what is it? You're scaring me," Remus whispered when they stopped.

"I heard the overlords talking about auctioning us off," Roman started to explain, frowning a bit.

"Okay? What are they planning on doing something weird?" Remus asked.

Roman took a breath.

"Remus, they aren't selling you at the auction, they are sending you to the brothel," Roman admitted, before rushing a hand forward to cover Remus's mouth to keep him from yelling.

Once Remus's expression had calmed down a bit Roman removed his hand and Remus looked down, his expression that of utter heartbreak.

"They are sending me away? But I haven't been that bad, have I? But weren't we supposed to stay together?" Remus whimpered, gnawing at his lower lip.

"I'm not gonna let them," Roman whispered determinedly.

"What?"

"I won't let them send you to the brothel," Roman replied.

He subtly slipped the stolen, folded up items out from under his shirt. Remus's eyes widened when he saw Roman had items he shouldn't have had.

"Did perfect, little Roman break a rule?" Remus teased after his initial shock wore off.

"Shut up and hide these, stupid. I don't want anyone to see and figure it out," Roman hissed glancing around to make sure no one was watching them.

Remus took the items and stuffed them into the hem of his pants and pulled his shirt down over it. He was grinning at Roman seemingly thrilled about what Roman's words and actions implied. Roman had to shift his gaze away.

"That map has a bunch of bus stops labeled on it. It says there is a shelter for homeless omegas down in the lower district. If you sneak out tonight when the supply trucks come in then you should be able to get there. I took some money in case you need it, the overlords are always complaining about how much money things cost. There's also some suppressants for safety if you go into heat before you get there," Roman explained, rubbing his upper arm.

"You're not coming with me?" Remus asked, his smile falling.

"We probably wouldn't both make it out the gate and even if we did they'd probably come after us because they lost two sales then. They might not come after just you since they are already settling for low profit. You can make a life for yourself, find a nice alpha to take care of you in the lower district. It'd probably make you happier, you always did like a little more freedom," Roman chuckled, trying to hold back his tears.

Remus hugged Roman tightly, his body trembling as he held in sobs.

"I'm going to miss you, idiot," Remus whimpered, his ears laying flat against his head.

Roman refused to let his ears lower and let others realize how upset he was. No one could know he was involved in the plan.

"And I'll miss you weirdo," Roman whispered.

"We'll meet again someday, right? This can't be the last time. It's too soon," Remus said, his fingers twisting into the material of Roman's shirt.

"Yeah, someday, somehow we'll meet again. This isn't for forever," Roman lied.

He knew he'd be going to the upper ring of elites and his master would likely never let him go and visit the lower district where Remus was heading. It was too painful to admit though. The one person he'd loved and depended on in life couldn't leave him so soon without any hope of him returning.

That night neither of them slept. When they heard the trucks approaching Remus wordlessly got up and silently slipped out of the room. Roman didn't look back to see him leave, he pretended to be asleep, quietly crying into his pillow. He knew he'd never see Remus again. Then next morning the overlords would come for Roman, questioning him about his brother's escape. Roman would expertly cry, desperate to know why his beloved brother left him. He'd feign ignorance about ever knowing Remus was going to the brothel, wailing about how he and Remus were supposed to be together forever. The overlords would blame everything on Remus and after a single day of searching cut their losses. They'd never know Roman was involved and Roman would be sold off, living a solitary life without the comforting presence of his brother who he'd sent away for his own safety.

A.N: Hello everyone! For those of you who were waiting for this story I apologize that it took so long, I was in a really bad place mentally and I'm still kinda trying to fully get out of it. But, now I'm going to start trying to write again! The plan is that this story is going to be updated every other Monday. I might increase that to every Monday at some point, but it depends on how I feel mentally and how college is going. Thank you all for reading thus far, I hope you enjoy the rest of the story. As always take care of yourselves and thank you for reading.
