Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts or DanMachi. Both belong to their respective owners.
...Yeah, it's been a while, hasn't it? I haven't updated a single thing in a few years. Blame college and other life responsibilities. Plus, I've been losing steam with my other fanfics.
Ironically, despite my username, I haven't actually created a single Keyblade fanfic, I just focused on other things that isn't Kingdom Hearts. Well that all changes with this legitimate Kingdom Hearts fanfic. Technically, I did make one, but that was my first fanfic and I had NO idea where to go with it. I just consider it dead at this point. It didn't even involve Sora, just an OC I made.
I honestly love the Kingdom Hearts series. I laughed in joy when Sora got announced for Smash Bros. I cheered when Mickey won the Death Battle Against Yoda. I'm honestly having fun with Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. I enjoy a lot of things related to Kingdom Hearts
So I've decided, why don't I finally get started with a legitimate Kingdom Hearts fanfic? Especially with a crossover with another anime/manga/light novel?
In any case, here is my Kingdom Hearts x DanMachi Fanfic.
I'll give you a big fat warning that this is AU what comes after KH3 Re:Mind.
ALSO, MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD FOR KH3 RE:MIND. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
In any case, let's get started!
Kingdom Hearts: Familia Myth
After what Sora considers to be the most challenging fight of his life, he expected to be teleported back to the Final World. What he didn't expect was to wake up in a world filled with Gods and a Dungeon so deep that no one knows how far it goes. Finding a way back home isn't going to be easy, but at the very least, he has a hearth to fall back on.
Chapter 1: Welcome to the World of Gods
Bell was not having a pleasant day.
Today was supposed to be just a normal and average day of exploring the Dungeon. He felt that he was progressing just fine with the floors he was given, and decided to be a bit adventurous and go to the fifth floor of the Dungeon. Normally, his advisor told him to just stick to the fourth floor, as the floors were designated for beginners like him. It even went against her 'no going on adventure' policy. However, he felt that he could handle them just fine, and decided that perhaps a bigger challenge is more welcome.
Perhaps traverse the fifth floor for only a little bit and leave after his first encounter with the floor's monster and call it a day.
Instead, he was given was a minotaur. A minotaur that doesn't belong to the upper floors.
His reaction to such a monster was obvious.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
Bell is running and screaming for his life as he was on the run from the minotaur.
He didn't know how long he was running, but he didn't focus on that at the moment as he was trying to escape the monster. He was hoping to find the exit back to the fourth floor and perhaps lose the minotaur from there.
Unfortunately, his luck wasn't so good at the moment, as he found himself in a dead end of a hall.
Bell could only turn around and see the Minotaur at the end of the hall, glaring at him with its red glowing eyes.
'Am...Am I going to die...?' Bell thought with horror as he saw the minotaur making its way towards him, roaring while raising its fist at him. Bell could only brace himself for his incoming death.
It was fortunate for him that someone did come to his aid, as something struck the back of the minotaur, causing the minotaur to cry out in pain and turned around.
Hearing this, Bell slowly opened his eyes and found the minotaur turning around to look behind it. It roared as it charged towards its attacker, but it was soon stopped with a single stroke of a swing, cutting the monster diagonally in half. Its corpse soon collapsed onto the floor, revealing the attacker.
Bell could only blink at the appearance of his savior.
His savior appeared to be around the same age as him, perhaps a couple years older than him. He had brown hair that appeared to be very spiky, a hairstyle that you don't usually see.
His attire also stood out as well. He wears a black v-neck t-shirt with white hemming, black shorts with gray pockets, and his shorts are tight around his calves. He wears a longer black hooded jacket with red hemming, gray pockets with white hemming, and red flannel flaps that are held down by a series of yellow buttons. His shoes looked a bit too big for his size. His gray fingerless gloves come to a v on his hands and are just short of his elbow. The gloves have red hemming, a yellow strap around the wrist, and a silver circle plate on the back of the hand. And to top it all of, he wore a silver crown necklace.
And in his hand was the strangest weapon that Bell ever saw. It appeared to be some sort of oversized silver key and golden guard. It didn't even look sharp, yet it was able to cut right through the minotaur like it's nothing.
The brown haired teen gave him a look of concern as he approached him.
"You alright?" the teen asked as he extended his hand towards Bell.
Bell blinked a few times at his savior, before he began to regain his bearings.
"O-Oh, um, yes. I'm alright." Bell hastily replied as he took the offered hand and was helped to stand up.
"That's good to hear. Didn't expect something like that to roam around in this area." the teen said as he looked at the corpse of the minotaur.
"Y-Yeah, you don't find the minotaur on this floor. It should be in the lower floors..." Bell said as he looked at the monster, before he turned to his savior.
"Thank you helping me. I didn't know what I would do without your help." Bell said while bowing in thanks towards his savior.
"Hey, no sweat. I'm just glad that you're safe." the teen replied, before he noticed something from the corner of his eye. "Hm, what's this?"
The young teenager walked over to the corpse of the minotaur and picked up the magic crystal.
"Oh wow, that's a big magic stone...!" Bell said in awe. "You can keep it, since you've killed it."
"Magic stone...?" the teen repeated with a confused look on his face. "What's that?"
Bell blinked at the question.
"Y-You don't know what a magic stone is?" Bell questioned with confusion. How could the teen not know what a magic stone is? That's the entire purpose of going into the Dungeon, to get magic crystals and give them to the Guild to earn money.
The teen could only give a sheepish smile and chuckle as he scratched his cheek.
"I'm...new to the area. I just so happened to...wander in here and got lost. I heard you scream, and well..." the teen tried to explain, but looked unsure if that was the best way to explain.
Fortunately for him, Bell immediately bought the answer and smiled at his savior.
"Oh, you're new around here? I guess that explains it. Though I'm surprised! Beginners usually are in the 1st and 2nd floor, and not here. You must be pretty strong to be here, um..." Bell paused a bit, realizing that he doesn't know the name of the teen before him.
The teen grinned at Bell as he crossed his arms behind his head.
"The name is Sora. Nice to meet you!"

When Bell decided that he had enough of the Dungeon for today, he and Sora headed out of the Dungeon. Sora, for some reason, was quite lost in the Dungeon, and relied on Bell to lead him out of the Dungeon. Bell supposed that you could get lost in the dungeon if it's your first time.
But Sora's reactions to his surroundings caught Bell's attention.
For one, as soon as they exited the Dungeon and went outside to Orario, Sora looked at his surroundings with awe and surprise. Like it was his first time seeing such a city. He also noted Sora blinking owlishly at the sight of demi-human races.
That reaction reminded Bell of his own reaction when he first arrived at Orario. Heck, he's sometimes still in awe whenever he goes around the city.
"So what's this place called?" Sora asked while looking around the town, taking in the sights and various races that were walking through the streets.
"E-Eh? You don't know the name of where we're at?" Bell asked in surprise.
Sora gave a nervous laugh.
"W-Well, like I said. I'm really new to this area. I was...very lost, and ended up wandering to this place." Sora told him with a bit of a strained smile.
Bell blinked at Sora's answer.
'...Is he bad with directions?' Bell thought, seeing how Sora is telling him that he ended up being lost. And being lost somehow meant that Sora somehow ended up in the Dungeon.
There was something strange about Sora that Bell couldn't put a finger on, but he pushed it aside for now, as he finally saw the Guild came into view.
"Oh, there it is!" Bell said while pointing forward towards the Guild building.
"What's that?" Sora asked with a confused look.
Bell blinked once more.
"Y-You don't know about the Guild as well?" Bell asked in surprise. You usually have to register at the Guild in order to explore the Dungeon and exchange magic stones.
How come Sora doesn't know any of this when he entered the Dungeon. In fact, why doesn't he know about this if he needed to register here in order to enter the Dungeon and exchange magic stones?
There's definitely something strange about Sora
"Um...it's a long story?" Sora answered with a sheepish look. Bell blinked at the answer.
'What exactly did he mean by that?' Bell thought with confusion. Could Sora honestly be the forgetful type?
He pushed those thoughts aside and just focus on the present.
"R-Right. Well, this is the Guild. This is where they manage Familias, adventurers, and magic stones so we can get valis. We should go meet up with my advisor since we're here." Bell explained as he and Sora entered the Guild building. When Bell walked ahead, he heard Sora muttered something about valis and munny in a confused tone.
When the two entered the building, it was certainly bustling with various adventurers chatting with one another, discussing topics with the advisors, or lining up to exchange magic stones.
"Miss Eina, I'm back!" Bell cheerfully greeted as he walked towards the desk, with Sora following in tow while curiously looking around the building, before his eyes fell upon what he suppose is Eina.
Eina appeared to brown haired woman with slightly pointed ears and wore what appears to be some kind of uniform of this Guild, which is a set of black vest and pants with a white collared long sleeve shirt underneath and a grey bow tie.
"Welcome back Bell." Eina greeted, though looked rather surprised to see Bell. "You're here rather early. Did something happen in the Dungeon or did you decide not to go?"
"No, I was in the dungeon. I just ended up in a...dire incident." Bell tried to explain while also trying to downplay the trouble he go into in order to not worry his advisor.
"Dire incident?" Eina repeated with a raised eyebrow.
Bell then proceeded to explain what has occurred in the last couple hours, recounting the minotaur as well as Sora rescuing him from danger.
"A minotaur on the upper floor. What a troubling situation." Eina said while rubbing her forhead. "That aside, Bell, how many times do I have to tell you that you aren't ready for the fifth floor just yet? I know you're rather eager to explore more of the dungeon, but please remember that adventurers shouldn't go adventuring. You need to properly prepare yourself before tackling the dangers the Dungeon has to offer." Eina chided, making Bell wince a bit.
"R-Right..." Bell muttered, feeling a bit ashamed of his actions while Sora could only give a small chuckle while patting Bell on the shoulder to comfort him.
"Anyway, who is this?" Eina asked as she finally turned to Sora.
"Oh, this is Sora. He's the one who saved me from the minotaur." Bell introduced Sora.
"Nice to meet you! I'm just glad I made it in time to help Bell." Sora greeted with a friendly tone.
"And I'm thankful for that. Now then, may I ask what Familia you're in? I want to make sure to send proper thanks to your God or Goddess."
Sora blinked at the question.
"...I'm sorry, what's a Familia?" Sora asked with a confused look.
"...Eh?" both Eina and Bell uttered aloud.

This was certainly an interesting world that Sora has landed in. It reminded Sora a lot of Hercules's world. But instead of going up Mount Olympus to meet and save Zeus from Hades and the Titans, the Gods have descended onto the mortal plane and decided to bless humans with their Falna to fight against the monsters on the surface and the Dungeon.
He honestly thought Hercules being a God was mind boggling. But for Gods to claim mortals as their children just as easily as picking an apple from a grocery store was something on another level for Sora.
'So a world full of Gods roaming around. I wonder if any of them know how to leave this world...?' Sora thought, his mind drifting back to most recent events.
After the Second Keyblade War, he has used the Power of Waking one last time to bring Kairi back to life. He has managed to do so, but not without a price.
"What do you think the Power of Waking is? It's for transversing Hearts to reach worlds. Not for transversing worlds to reach Hearts. There's a high price to pay for wielding such power foolishly."
Those were the foreboding words that young Xehanort has given him.
He was given similar warnings from Chirithy , but he chose to move on to save the most important person to him in his life: Kairi.
Honestly, he was expecting to just fade away from his world after everything that he's done. Just like how a Nobody fades away from existence.
Instead, he found himself waking up to a clear night sky in the Final World. Which was strange, considering how the Final World was a constantly clear blue sky. Perhaps he didn't stick around long enough for night to finally arrive.
What was even stranger was the fact that he ran into Yozora of all people. A character from a video game that he saw in Buzz and Woody's world.
They've talked for a bit, before Yozora claimed that he was to "save" Sora.
Apparently, 'saving Sora' meant beating the ever loving crap out of him.
Sora has to admit, out of all the foes he has fought in the past, Yozora was by far the toughest opponent that Sora has ever faced.
Teleportation, many fake-outs, having drones attack him at different angles, powerful laser strikes from his sword, some kind of tech capable of draining his health, summoning some kind of weird satellite device into the air and changing the surroundings and gravity, sending giant robots to charge into him, and even managed to steal his Keyblade for a short period of time.
If Xehanort is the epitome of absolute power, Yozora is the epitome of absolute skill and technique.
After narrowly defeating Yozora, Yozora simply looked at himself fading away into motes of light and claimed that his powers aren't needed yet. He then gave Sora a brief smile as a blinding light engulfed them both.
Sora honestly expected to go back to the Final World. But to his surprise, he found himself waking up in some dark cavern. This just kept Sora asking himself more questions on where he was even being teleported. But he needed some time to recover from his fight with Yozora. So after a bit of rest and a Curaga spell, Sora was good to go and figure out where the heck he is.
But instead, he heard the sounds of terrified screams.
Which led him to meeting Bell, and learning more about this world through Eina's lectures.
After a rather long lecture given to him by Eina explaining about Orario, the Gods, and the basic background of the world itself, he was finally let off. Sora could only shudder as he was forced to sit through Eina's hour long lecture about everything in this world. By the time he was finally let off, Sora noticed that it was almost the end of the day.
It was then Bell offered a place to stay at his place, seeing how lost Sora is at this place & wanted to thank him for saving his life. Sora, at first, was surprised and asked if it was okay to stay over at his home, to which Bell insisted, as he claimed that his Goddess is more than willing to provide a home to anyone. Upon hearing this, Sora took Bell's offer.
So they headed towards Bell's home.
Their home was certainly...interesting, to say the least. In the abandoned districts of Orario was an abandoned Church, having dirty and old windows and moss growing all around it.
"Our home isn't exactly the best living condition, but it's functional and comfy enough to have running water and a kitchen." Bell said as he gestured to the run down church that they lived in.
"It's cool. To be honest, it's a lot better than where I usually sleep in." Sora told him.
"Really?"
"Yeah. Had to sleep in a small room filled with two other people, and that was about it." Sora explained while recalling his memories on how he had to sleep when traveling to different worlds.
He can still remember the times when traveling to other worlds on the Gummiship, where they had to sleep in it. They had to set up sleeping bags and sleep on the floor of the ship, leaving it rather cramped for the three. He could sometimes remember Donald kicking him while sleeping. And Goofy tends to snore a bit too loud.
Sleeping in an abandoned Church was definitely an upgrade for Sora.
"I-Is that so? Well, I can tell you that we have enough room for one more person. Beddings, though..." Bell trailed off. Sora chuckled.
"Hey, I'm just happy you offered me a place to stay at. Don't sweat too much on the details." Sora reassured Bell.
Bell gave a sheepish chuckle as he led Sora inside. When they entered inside the Church, Bell led Sora to a door that leads to an underground room, which is where Bell and Hestia stay at.
"Goddess, I'm home!" Bell greeted as he and Sora went down the stairs and entered the room.
The Goddess in question perked up at the sound of Bell's voice and sat up from the couch. When Sora took a look at the Goddess, he could only blink at what he saw.
It was a rather short young girl with twin tails and wore a white dress with a blue ribbon across her front.
'...That's weird. I honestly thought she would be glowing like the other Gods I've met on Olympus.' Sora thought, as he remembered how radiant Zeus was when he first saw the King of the Gods. Then again, Hades was a lot more gloomy compared to Zeus.
When looking at Hestia, he felt some kind of comfortable atmosphere, as if he felt he was at home.
"Bell, welcome back!" Hestia greeted as she glomped onto Bell and happily hugged him, leading Bell to weakly chuckle as he patted his Goddess on the head.
"Yes, I'm back. And I've brought someone along with me." Bell said as he gestured to Sora.
"Hi there, the name's Sora! Nice to meet you Hestia!" Sora greeted with a smile.
Hestia blinked at the appearance of the new guest.
"Oh, it's nice to meet you as well. What brings you here to our humble abode?" Hestia asked curiously.
"Sora came here because he has nowhere else to go at the moment. I also owe him for saving me from a minotaur." Bell explained.
Hestia froze a bit when she heard this, before she frantically looked all over Bell's body.
"A-A minotaur!? B-Bell, you got attacked by a minotaur!? Are you alright!? There's no injuries, right!?" Hestia frantically asked while checking all over Bell's body.
"I-I'm fine Goddess! I wasn't harmed at all because Sora saved me in time!" Bell hastily explained, trying to calm down his Goddess. Hestia looked at Bell's body one more time to confirm no injuries, before she gave a sigh of relief.
"Ah, thank goodness." Hestia said before she turned to Sora. "Thank you for saving my precious child Sora."
"I'm just happy I made it in time." Sora simply replied with a laid back grin.
"Still, you have my gratitude for saving my child, thus, I have no problem providing you a home for the time being while you're here in Orario. Still, don't you have your own home to stay at? Or rather, your Familia's home?" Hestia asked.
"Oh, about that...I'm not exactly in a Familia." Sora answered, which made Hestia blink in shock.
"Y-You aren't?" Hestia responded with surprise. "But how? Mortals without a Falna don't stand much of a chance in the Dungeon, let alone deal with a minotaur! In fact, why were you going into the Dungeons in the first place without a Falna?"
Upon hearing that question, Sora had a bit of a stiff expression on his face.
"W-Well, I'm new to the area, so I've decided to check it out, and I wanted to explore the Dungeon. I travelled through the first four floors and heard Bell's screams, and that's where I saved Bell." Sora explained.
"That's a lie." Hestia immediately replied.
Sora froze.
"W-What do you mean?" Sora asked with nervous tone.
"You don't know? Gods and Goddesses can tell if mortals are telling the truth or lies. No matter how well-crafted the lie is, we will always see through it. Most of what you said was true, except for the fact that you've travelled through the first four floors to reach Bell, or even the fact that you've wanted to explore the Dungeon. So that means you were already on the fifth floor or deeper, which doesn't even make sense, as you have no Falna." Hestia pointed out.
Hearing all of this, Sora could only sigh in defeat while scratching the back of his head.
"Is that so? Darn, trying to keep things a secret is definitely going to be a lot harder..." Sora muttered to himself.
"Just what are you trying to hide?" Hestia questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"W-Well..." Sora said, before he pondered if this was really the best course of action.
He's stuck in another world with no method of getting out of it. There's no Gummiship for him to take. Another method is using the Power of Waking to find his way back to Kairi and the others. Unfortunately, he has misused it to the point where he lost it, as Chirithy has warned him.
He's effectively stuck on this world. But considering that Gods roam this world, perhaps they could have a ticket back home.
On the other hand...World Order. People aren't supposed to know the existence of other worlds, nor do they have to know about Sora not being from their world.
But considering that Gods are the highest authority, then perhaps it wouldn't hurt to share...
'...Donald is going to be so mad if he learns about this.' Sora thought, as he decided his next course of action.
"Guess I have no choice but to tell you." Sora said while sighing.
"Tell me what?" Hestia asked with a raised eyebrow.
After a bit of silence, Sora decided to bite the bullet.
"...Will you believe me when I say that I'm not from this world?" Sora asked.
It was that single question that begun Sora's own myth in the world of Gods.
And thus starts my very first Kingdom Hearts crossover fic (kind of)!
Anyways, Sora is in the world of DanMachi! How will this world handle this outsider? Especially with someone who completely defies all norms and common sense?
(Sora's Fighting Ability)
I bet you're all wondering how strong Sora is in this story. Allow me to answer your questions.
1) Did Sora lose his strength (as usual)?
No. Sora has all of his strength from KH3.
2) Kingdom Key Run Only?
No. Sora has access to all of his Keyblades from KH3. Though I'm heavily debating whether or not I should include Keyblades from KH1, KH2, and KH3D. Just the Keyblades alone from KH3 seem fun enough, & adding previous Keyblades could certainly spice up the story. But it could also create some unnecessary baggage. Like I said, still debating about it.
3) Sora's fighting style?
I'm going to incorporate a lot of past game mechanics, including KH3, into Sora's fighting style. So expect a few mechanics and magic spells that you are well familiar with.
(Olympus)
Now then, I'm sure some of you have noticed or know that Sora has been to Olympus, a Disney World where Zeus and the other Greek Gods reside. But then there's DanMachi Zeus, who is somewhere in the world of Danmachi. Doesn't that create inconsistencies?
Worry not, my dear readers, I have already expected such a thing. And came up with, hopefully, a reasonable answer. Just keep reading.
(Question to all of you)
This is just a very curious question to all of you. Should I or should I not insert Kingdom Hearts music into this fic? For example, at the start of every fight segment, I would put in:
(Play: Kingdom Hearts 2.5: 13th Struggle)
It could liven up the story, but it may be intrusive and bothersome to others. Let me know what you think.
(Fun Fact of the Day)
I'm not particularly sure if this is canon or not, but Sora directly stated that he has an uncle in the KH3 Manga (created by Tetsuya Nomura himself).
