Chapter 1 Windblume
Fischl's POV
Oz and I were watching the festivities of the Windblume Festival.
"Observe Oz", I started. "Watch as couples show their affection for each other with gifts of Windblumes."
After I said this…I suddenly became a bit saddened.
"Mein Fräulein", Oz started. "Is something the matter?"
"It is nothing to worry yourself over, Oz", I reassured. "I was simply pondering over how nice it would've been to receive a Windblume myself. That is all."
"Do not fear, Mein Fräulein", Oz reassured. "After all, you are the Prinzessin der Verurteilung. Honesty, I don't understand why there isn't already a line of young suitors fighting to give you Windblumes!"
"Perhaps it is this very reason why no suitor shall pursue me", I suggested. "They do not believe that they are worthy of being the romantic interest of the Prinzessin der Verurteilung!"
Yeah right. The reality is that nobody wants to date a weirdo like me.
Before this thought could linger in my head for long…I heard a somebody yell my name.
I looked up, and saw Bennet.
"Fischl", he yelled out has he waved to me.
I got up and walked up to him.
"Greetings, adventurer who bears the world's curses", I greeted. "Tell me, why have you summoned me for an audience with the prinzessin?"
After I said this…Bennet suddenly got very nervous.
"Well", he started. "I…I wrote something for you, and I wanted you to hear it?"
This took me by surprise.
"You…wrote me something", I asked, before quickly getting back into character. "Well then. Dictate whatever it is that you have inscribed for me."
After I said this, Bennett took out a piece of paper.
He cleared his throat…and began to read.
"You and the Mare Jivari
So close and yet so far
One at the edge of the world
The other in the center of my heart
Wolfhook and dandelion
My Windblume offering to you."
When Bennet was done reading, he looked at me nervously.
"So", he started. "What did you think?"
I couldn't speak, I was too busy processing what I had just heard.
Windblume offering…for me?
"It's terrible, isn't it", Bennet asked. "I knew it!"
This snapped me out of my thoughts, and back into character.
"Tell me, Bennet", I started. "Why have you written this for me?"
"Well", Bennet started, getting nervous again. "I…think that your really cool, Fischl."
Upon hearing these words…I froze up in shock.
"I asked my dads what I should do, and they pointed out that the Windblume festival is the perfect time to tell someone how you feel", Bennet revealed. "And then I heard that Venti was holding a love poem class, and thought that it was perfect!"
I still couldn't speak.
"Anyway", Bennet started. "Here. Have the poem."
Even in my shocked state…I still managed to take the piece of paper.
"Welp", Bennet started. "I'd better get going. See ya later, Fischl."
With that, Bennet ran off.
"Behold, Mein Fräulein", Oz started. "There is the 'Windblume' that you wanted!"
I did not say anything. Instead, I looked at the poem again.
"Mein Fräulein", Oz started. "What is the matter?"
Bennet gave me a love poem. Somebody…actually likes me?
I couldn't keep it in anymore. A huge smile came to my face. And then, I squealed before jumping around like crazy!
For once, everybody was staring at me for a different reason.
"Mein Fräulein", Oz started. "Compose yourself!"
With that, I snapped out of it, and back into character.
"Pardon my improper behaviour, Oz."
After I said this, I looked at the poem again…and smiled.
