A/N: I was inspired by another story called Death's Door by LizzyBerry which has been unfinished and on a huge cliffhanger for literal years now. So the concept of this one is pretty much the same: Jessica and Seth are walking home and Seth is shot. Don't worry I will finish this one…..eventually (torturing readers is my lot in life jk). No, I will finish it and I hope you like it.
"No! Jessica, look out!"
Those words echoed in her mind. She stood there and she watched. She watched as her best friend threw himself in front of the gun that had fired the bullet. There was no sound, everything seemed slow. She looked up and saw the hooded figure running away. She looked back at Seth who had fallen towards the pavement, his face pale and his body weak.
"No! No!"
She yelled as she collapsed towards him and held his head. The crimson pool had already filled the sidewalk. The tears from her eyes fell uncontrollably."
"Jessica." He whispered.
"Are you…. okay?" He said, gasping for air.
"Seth! Why would you do that?" She cried. "They could have killed you right there! I-
"Jessica." He breathed. There was slight silence as Jessica understood that he needed her to look at him. "Are…. you …okay?" He asked, grasping for anything to keep him alive. She just looked at him as she saw tears fall sliding from his eyes too. She closed her eyes and let the tears fall.
"Seth, what about you?" She asked, trying to get a steady voice through her tears. She didn't know what to do. She couldn't just leave him there alone. All of a sudden she heard sirens throughout the small town of Cabot Cove and immediately felt relieved.
Seth kept drifting further and further away.
"Seth they're almost here! Please just stay awake a little longer!" Seth's eyes fluttered open at her voice.
"Jess, listen to me." He said very groggily. The weakness was showing. He was drifting in and out of consciousness as he was talking. "You know where all the important papers are up in my attic."
"No! No! Seth, don't talk like that, you're going to be fine, it's going to be okay!"
"Jessica listen to me." He was barely hanging on. Jessica could tell he was serious about this the way he said her name this time. She sighed and looked deeply into his colorless eyes. "Jessica I need to tell you something… that I …..have never told …anyone ….before." His breathing was extremely ragged, gasping for air. He felt himself fading and becoming distant. "Jessica I need you to know that I-" he couldn't finish his sentence. Everything warped around him and he felt a black world swallow him whole.
"Seth, no! Seth Hazlitt talk to me! Don't close your eyes!" She cried in anguish as she saw him fade off. "Seth no Please! I can't do it without you! I...I-I love you!" She pleaded with everything she had left "I love you Seth don't go! Please don't go!" She was crying uncontrollably as she held his wrist for a moment before she felt it: nothing
There was no pulse.
