Notes: This is set after the anime, and could be considered a spoiler. It's MOSTLY canon to the light novels, of which I've read up to number eight.

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear!

The Yuri Option

"I'm home," Yuna called out as the green haired, slim young woman entered the Bear House she had built.

"Welcome home," Fina called back as the younger, brown haired girl worked in the monster processing room.

Yuna smiled at Fina, even as she reflected on how nice it was coming home to her. They had become business partners at first... Yuna just could NOT process monsters she'd killed. Too gross. But Fina had been raised here working and could do it just fine. After saving Fina's mom, the capital trip together and various other things, they had become friends. In fact, Yuna thought she had never been closer to any other person.

Admittedly, that was back on Earth when she had been a rich gamer and shut in...

"Yuna?" Fina asked, noticing she was staring off into space.

"Ha. Sorry," Yuna smiled. "You've been over here a lot. Are your parents okay with that?" she asked her curiously.

"Hmm!" Fina nodded. A bit shyly she added, "Plus I want to give Mom some alone time with Mr. Gentz."

Yuna chuckled at that. Yuna herself had actually encouraged Gentz and Tiermina to get together, in part so that Fina would have a stable family. Plus Gentz had apparently been pining after her for years, so there was that...

"Still, maybe I should ask Tiermina about it, just in case. I do impose on you all a lot," Yuna mused aloud.

"Yuna! You do not," Fina said. "Besides, you save my and mother's lives, remember?" she pointed out.

"Still," Yuna shrugged.

Fine rolled her eyes cutely.

Near noon, Yuna headed out looking for Tiermina. She checked at the Orphanage first, as well as stopping in to see the Headmistress. Then she went over to the Bear Lounge, her family restaurant and got some lunch, then headed over to the Bear Bistro, which was mostly a seafood shop. She waved hi to everyone, but didn't linger.

(YES, Yuna ran an egg producing operation with the Orphanage, and two restaurants. None of it had been intentional, things just... sort of HAPPENED. At least as a result the orphans were well taken care of, and she got to eat lots of yummy food.)

Occasionally Yuna felt a bit guilty about employing Tiermina at all three businesses as a manager. On the other hand, Termina had planned to go back to work as an adventurer, despite only just recovering from long illness. Everyone in her family was scared she'd get killed, so it was probably better she was working for Yuna.

At least that was how Yuna justified it...

Yuna headed to the new home Tiermina and Gentz and moved into after getting together, and knocked on the door.

"Yuna-sis!" Shuri answered the door, the little girl beaming.

Yuna patted her head, smiling back as she asked, "Is your Mom home?"

"Come on in," a voice called and they headed in. Tiermina was sitting at the table, and smiled welcomingly.

"Hey," Yuna waved. She still seemed a bit pale and gaunt, and Yuna made a mental note to get Tiermina to eat a bit more.

"You're not here with another business venture, are you?" Tiermina teased.

"No, no," Yuna laughed. "Is Gentz at work?" she checked.

"Yes, though he promised to be home early tonight," Tiermina noted. She sounded a bit dubious, but hopeful.

"There was something I wanted to ask," Yuna admitted. "You know how Fina has been staying over at my place more?"

"Uh huh," Tiermina nodded.

"I wanted to get your permission for Fina and I...," Yuna trailed off, not sure how to ask.

"Oh!" Tiermina smiled, her eyes widening. She seemed happy as she said, "It's fine, it's fine. I've seen how happy you make Fina."

Yuna was happy she seemed happy, but she got the feeling Tiermina was misunderstanding her, maybe. "So it's alright?" she clarified.

"Of course!" Tiermina smiled.

"All right, that's good," Yuna agreed.

"Congratulations!" Helen at the Adventurers Guild beamed. "I'm sure you'll be happy!"

"Huh?" Yuna blinked, but the young woman was off helping another adventurer.

There was nothing interesting or fun on the Quest boards, so Yuna decided to go over next door to see Gentz. She noticed more people looking at her than normal (Normal for someone wearing bear pajamas anyway) and wondered what that was about.

"Yuna," Gwntz waved as she came in. "You should have asked me, it's traditional to ask the father," he complained.

"Eh?" Yuna responded.

"Well, never mind," Gantz waved that off. He added cheerfully, "I entrust Fina to your care. Look after her well."

Yuna wasn't sure what he meant by THAT, but before she could ask a bunch of adventurers came in with monsters to sell. Frowning slightly, she headed out to the street.

"Yuna! I heard the good news," Rulina, a sorceress and adventurer that Yuna knew smiled.

"Hmm," Gil added, the huge fighter nodded.

"What good news?' Yuna asked.

Rulina ignored that, "To be honest, I'm a bit jealous of Fina."

"You did bridal carry Rulina," Gil noted mildly.

"I told you not to remind me!" Rulina complained as the two headed off.

Shaking her head, Yuna decided to go out and do some hunting to clear her head. She headed to the gates, showing her guild card to pass.

"Hey, Bear-girl," the usual guard called, "good luck!"

Yuna spent a few hours roaming the woods out and away from town. (She had been scolded about hunting too close to town, an area mostly reserved for new adventurers. Mind you, at the time she had been a new adventurer, but she ALSO could take out tigerwolves even then... ) She beat a wolf pack, several wild ox and a few others. Apparently local beasts had still not worked out that attacking a girl in bear pajamas was a bad idea.

Feeling more relaxed, Yuna returned to the city, showing her guild card to the guard. "Hey, Fina's a lucky girl," the guard noted cheerfully.

"I guess?" Yuna agreed.

Still feeling mildly bewildered, Yuna headed home, planning to make dinner.

Just as Yuna was frying up some hamburg steaks, she heard a knocking on the door. She took it off the heat, then answered the door. "Fina?" she asked.

"WHAT DID YOU TELL MOTHER?!" Fina yelped breathlessly.

"Tiermina? Why?" Yuna asked, leading her inside.

Fina looked very embarrassed, "She thinks we're getting married."

"WHAT," Yuna blinked.

Fina and Yuna sat in the kitchen as Yuna cooked for both of them. "So you meant to ask about my staying over here, but mother misunderstood?" Fina clarified.

"I should have explicitly explained," Yuna admitted her mistake as she dished up the food.

"Hmm, delish," Fina sighed happily. She cut another bite, raised it to her mouth... then stopped.

"What?" Yuna asked.

"How many people did Mother tell?" Fina asked, paling.

Yuna blinked, thinking of ALL the odd interactions she had gotten that day. "I think most of the town knows by now," she groaned, thumping her head on the table.

Fina reached over and patted her head. "Well, at least Milaine hasn't heard yet," referring to their friend, the very enthusiastic master of the Trade Guild.

THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP ! on the door.

"YUNA, FINA!" Milaine's voice called from outside, "Why didn't you tell me?!" A pause, "I would have held a party!"

Both young women loudly groaned.

Yuna and Fina pretty much spent the whole next day dealing with the whole confusing mess. First they visited Tiermina and Gentz, explaining that they were just friends, even if they did spent a lot of time together.

"I'm so sorry," Tiermina looked sheepish. She added, "But can you blame me? You should hear how much Fina talks about you."

"Mother!" Fina groaned.

Then they did the rounds to the Bear shops, the various Guilds, and everyone they knew, pretty much. It was all kind of exhausting, but they did it.

"Sorry about all this," Yuna sighed.

She didn't hear Fina quietly murmur, "I didn't say I minded it, though..."

End?

Notes: Mostly this story is based on the last episode of the anime, which kinda ends with them pleding to each other. It's not THAT weird in a feudal/medieval society for relatively young characters to get betrothed, though obviously not in our era.
