August 28th. UFN. The United States of Japan. Horai Island.

"-in less than an hour a historical document between two nations will be signed in the halls of Ashford Academy, located just behind me." A young blonde news reporter known to everyone as Milly Ashford announced as the camera showed the academy. The place was home to both the Emperor and masked revolutionary for many years. It was early in the morning for that part of the hemisphere, but despite that, the majority of the human population was eagerly watching the live broadcast of what might be the end of the conflict between Black Knights and Britannia, a war that hadn't started yet.

"They're really going with it, huh." Wyvern Squad's only female pilot Ayano Kosaka said with amazement. It was hard to believe that both sides were ready to stop all hostilities outright.

"Yup." Her friend Yukiya nodded before lazily yawning. "Seems like the Federation's politicians want to avoid total war with Britannia. Although I always suspected that the Emperor was more than happy to go into another war. Oh well, if not this year then next."

"Do you think it will change our position?" Ayano asked worriedly.

"Shouldn't be the case. W-0 is still important as the only representative of the old EU government, even if we're just a bunch of soldiers. Heard some rumours that the Federation will use us as a political tool to get something of Britannia in the future."

"Tool? For what? All we can offer is fighting and then some, agh-" Yukiya never cared about politics and for a good reason. "Without Leila, we can't really do anything sufficiently. Speaking about blondie, how is Anna doing?"

A few days ago their pink-haired genius managed to somehow get a letter handwritten by their leader who was in Britannia right now. Well, Leila was supposed to be in Britannia, instead of the mountain that just exploded. To say that W-0 were scared and furious that their leader and friend was in a dangerous situation was an understatement. Still, they got a letter from Leila, speaking about a potential safe haven where W-0 can hide if the situation gets nasty. Some had a hard time believing Leila was basically asking them to pick things up and run, while others were concerned if it meant White Emperor was on the warpath. The peace agreement by Zero and Lelouch's full desire to sign it made everything even more confusing for Europeans.

"Akito and Ryo are with Anna, still trying to make sense of what our little angel wrote for us. Heh, Ryo thinks it is fake and that the Britannians set up a trap for us. But Akito and Anna were convinced it was from Leila. Personally, I have a hard time believing that the Brits' Emperor allowed Leila to send a letter with secret information of some base that won't be found by Britannia." It was hard to see the person who almost killed him as anything but a threat to them.

"I dunno, Yukiya. I want to hope everything will work out for us. It usually does."

"Forget Moscow? Or Rome? Or Prague? Or Paris? I certainly didn't for the last one." Yukiya deadpanned as he massaged his head.

"Eh, most of the time." Ayano waved away. "Anyway, when will Zero and the Emperor start? I'm getting bored-" At that moment both soldiers turned behind when they heard movement. Neither of them tried to go for their handguns, this was a friendly base so it was expected that some people might come to the W-0 camp. "Who is it?"

"Hey, Tamaki, is that you?" Yukiya knew that the redhead loudmouth, not Ryo, was coming to W-0 quite often. The older Japanese man grew on Europeans who enjoyed hearing his banter.

"S-sorry, but I'm not a Black Knight." a weak male voice spoke as the silver-haired boy walked up to two Wyvern Squad members, his hand raised to show he didn't carry a weapon. "Nice to see you again, W-0."

"Wait, I remember you." Ayano recognized the guy from the time in Rome when they were running away from Orange. "You're Peace Mark member, one of those who was following that blonde asshole. You're Rai."

"Yup and yeah, Oz can be a little grumpy at times." The only survivor of the European Peace Mark spoke with a warm smile. Rai missed the times when everything was better, with Alice.

"What are you doing here?" Yukiya asked with a carefree tone while his hand slowly gripped his pistol. There were no PM members on Horai Island last time he checked. Let alone one of the people who were close to Europe's former cell.

"Well, originally I was hoping to stay in China for some time, but the higher-ups just couldn't miss such an event and had to order me around. Eh, once all of this is over I might just retire." Rai walked closer and noticed that two of them tensed up. "Why so nervous? I'm just here to do some errands and will be on my way."

"Sorry, buddy." Yukiya started as he raised his gun. "But we have to report you. Can't have a member of Peace Mark walking willy-nilly around the island. No hard feelings."

Rai managed to smirk despite the pain. "Nah, everything is cool. It is I who must apologize. Never hold grudges against you Europeans, but the mission is the mission."

"What are you talking about-" Ayano didn't like the sound of that but before she could react, Rai's eyes flashed red as he activated his damn Geass power.

"Obey me."

Ayano and Yukiya froze before standing still and giving him a salute. Meanwhile, Rai had the urge to puke, he used Geass too much by now. However, it wasn't over. The boy looked behind them at the TV screen and saw that peace talks would start soon.

"I'm running out of time. Fuck, I don't have enough manpower, but you will have to do." Rai should have started using Geass on the island earlier, maybe then he would have enough cannon fodder to use, but using his power too much was draining him. "First, get me to the others and then bring your Knightmares, we will have a mission in Tokyo."

His new puppets obeyed and wordlessly moved while Rai started walking towards the W-0 barracks. Afterwards, they would need to visit Black Knight's transport hub. They will need a big airship for all Knightmares.

"Damn it, Wizard, ordering me right at the last moment."

Tokyo. Ashford Academy.

Every camera and every news reporter were glued to the most important event on the island as both superpowers stood opposite of each other in front of Ashford Academy. It was surreal to see Knightmares of the Emperor's Scarlet Guard on one side, and Zero's Squad on another. However, both groups represented their respective nations and were there only on purpose. To protect the White Emperor and Zero.

Since both the Black Knights and Britannia had to agree on security measures, it was decided that both armies will have access to the facility and should cooperate for the sake of the peace talks. Ashford was part of Britannian Tokyo, but by the order of their monarch, the Federation's Knightmares and soldiers were allowed to pass through the territory and act as guards during the talks.

Milly Ashford still couldn't understand what her childhood friend was planning, but she had to smile for the camera as they broadcasted the start. The blonde news reporter gave her usual cheerful expression as she spoke.

"As our dear viewers can see, both the Holy Britannian Empire and the United Federation of Nations were able to look past their past and work together in order to achieve peace." A somewhat corny line Milly herself wrote and was proud of it, hoping it was the case between two factions. "The peace talk would start in a few moments as we just received the word that His Imperial Majesty Lelouch vi Britannia and leader of Black Knights Zero have arrived!"

The camera moved towards the chosen landing as the aircraft landed. Moments later the emperor of the realm walked out, politely smiling and waving to the paparazzi. He wasn't alone as the Knight of One, Willam Bishop, walked next to the Emperor, acting as His Majesty's shield. Lelouch ordered the elite soldier to accompany him during the peace talks, as was expected of the group's Lord-Commander during events like this. Not to mention, it should ease the Federation to see Bishop there instead of inside his Knightmare on the border with the UFN. Bringing the Knight of Two was out of the question since the White Queen was required somewhere else at the moment.

Zero moved out of their craft, followed by the loyal redhead ace pilot as Kallen Kozuki mirrored Bishop. Instead of her Knightmare suit, the captain of Zero Squad wore a regular military uniform. Both Zero and Lelouch stood across from each other, their knights, well Lelouch's knights, stood next to their respected figures. The White Emperor looked over the crowd across the fences as people lined up to see the Emperor and leader of the Black Knights together. They stood close enough that no one should be able to hear what they were talking about.

"It must be quite a show for them." Zero commented.

"For the people?" Lelouch wondered.

"For the ones who know the real Zero."

Kallen cleared her throat. "Please be quiet about that matter, Zero. Someone might hear you."

"Lady Kozuki is right, my lad-it will be better if moved inside the academy." Bishop offered.

His lord nodded. "Yes, let's not waste time with useless chatter. Let's give the people what they want."

Ikaruga.

The flagship of the Black Knights flew over, close enough to the city if something went wrong. Britannia and Black Knights agreed to keep their main forces at distance from each other. Ikaruga was flying over the edge of the city, close to the waters, while the Britannian monster battleship Nemesis stayed behind Mr Fuji. For the sake of the peace talks, both sides were constantly communicating and keeping each other updated on everything. Despite the clear willingness of both factions to cooperate, there were those who didn't have positive thoughts about this ordeal.

General Secretary Ohgi was one such person. He and the rest of the Black Knights' high command knew about the truth behind Zero. At least behind the original Zero. They knew this was a trap, but their hands were tied. Any attempt to act on their own might be seen as treason by the leadership of the UFN and their own soldiers. Oghi knew all of it and hated every moment of this day.

"You should learn how to hide your true feelings by now.." Ohgi felt a warm touch and looked to the side to see his lover Villetta as she placed her hand on his shoulder. "People will be confused if they see one of the original Black Knights scorn during a happy day. Or at least what is supposed to be."

"Sorry, but I never was a good liar, unlike him." The man's gaze turned towards the screen as the White Emperor entered the building. "It's infuriating. He plays all of us so easily while everyone is happily ready to eat every lie he gives them."

Villetta nodded, more than familiar with this. "Even when he was brainwashed, Lelouch always got what he wanted. It is in his nature. It is scary, but it shouldn't distract you today. Whatever he is trying to achieve, all we can do is be ready to act."

"How? UFN's leaders want this peace and don't care about who is the new Zero. They know nothing. Even Kaguya was compromised. For all we know, she is under his Geass."

"Maybe." Villetta sighed. "Maybe not, you never know what Lelouch told or did to her. He doesn't always need his power to get what he wants out of people. I know some of his methods."

"Hmm." Oghi studied the screen, watching every small detail the Order could get about the negotiations. "Kallen might be an issue too, worst case scenario is we have to arrest her until we learn how to deal with Geass. Tamaki was acting weird too, he asked me to bring our new members on guard duty beside Zero Squad."

"You think they're traitors?"

"I don't want to think so, but we have to be ready for the worst. The last thing I want is to fight my own friends." Oghi looked down. "This situation is difficult for all of us. Tohdoh and Xingke decided to stay in the embassy while Kaguya wasn't there. They brought Knightmares."

Villetta's eyes went wide. "Oh."

Oghi nodded, it was easy to guess what the two military commanders planned. Once the peace talks were completed, the Black Knights would question both the chairwoman and this new Zero, using force if needed. The former rebel cell leader had to agree with them. They would need to be careful and not make any wrong move if they want to avoid anger from their soldiers who idolize Zero.

"Anyway, let's focus on the show for now-"

"Sir!" One of the female operators stood up from her position. "We're receiving a signal from one of our transport ships. It is entering the Tokyo air space."

"What? We never ordered- what is it doing there?" Oghi looked at the screen as it showed the approaching aircraft. It didn't have any weapons but had enough space to carry dozens of Knightmares if needed. "Who ordered it?"

"Their codes are right and according to the message they're following the commands of General Tohdoh."

Oghi blinked. "Tohdoh ordered to bring more Knightmares? Why? Did something happen? Why didn't he contact me about what's going on-?"

Should he stop them? Contact Tohdoh himself and question the general on what was going on. Or maybe let them go? What if something serious happened and they needed more manpower, what if Lelouch played his hand and the Order was in danger? Oghi didn't know how to react or what to do.

"Oghi," Villetta tried to comfort him. "Calm down and think straight. Panic would only complicate everything."

Her lover froze before nodding. "Y-yes, you're right. I… contact the general, I want to know what is happening on the ground and why they called for reinforcements… and why they arrived so fast."

The operator nodded before returning to her position. Meanwhile, Oghi exhaled and inhaled.

"I feel like a blind and helpless child right now."

Villetta gave him a reassuring smile. "You're a leader and feel responsibility over your people, Oghi. Feeling overwhelmed is part of the job. Don't panic and you will make the right decision."

"For the sake of my sanity, I hope you're correct, Villetta."

Ashford Academy.

"You know how to act and what to say?" Lelouch asked his Witch as the four of them climbed the stairs inside the main building. Just a few meters away was the room where it would happen.

The masked idol waved her arm. "Calm down, boy. I of all people knew how to act with this mask on my face. Not the first time I had to play as your double, have more faith in me."

"I have faith that you will do something ridiculous just to irritate me." Lelouch narrowed his eyes.

"Excellent, you already can see my future moves, as expected of you Lelouch." Zero replied mockingly before Kallen pushed her forward.

"Don't you dare anything stupid out here, C.C. The last thing we need for Zero to clown around."

Bishop agreed with the new unofficial Knight of the Round. "Lady Kozuki is right, Your Highness. Please abstain from hurting the legacy and image of Master Lelouch's past persona."

"Again with this lady nonsense, you can just call me by name, Mr Bishop." Kallen didn't know how to act around the older man. Lelouch said that once he will make her position official, she will have a higher standing among the Knights of the Round. The redhead used to be the leader of people who were older than her as captain of Zero Squad, but having a higher rank than a literal knight with decades of the experience felt different, awkward even. "Just call me Kallen."

"That will not do, my lady. Not only are you the Knight of Zero, but you are also a mistress of my liege, therefore a future empress." Kallen's face flushed red while Lelouch just snickered. "I shall show full respect."

"A-at least don't say it loudly, I still can't get used to it, please." Bishop nodded while Kallen let out a sigh. "It will take time to get used to all these knightly manners."

"You can start your lessons after we're finished with our business. Remember your roles, nothing should go bad during the talks themselves. Even the Black Knights won't be mad enough to attack me while I'm negotiating with Zero." Lelouch was known for being quite paranoid and overthinking, but right now everything was supposed to be safe. The Black Knights could do little but guarantee the safety of talks on their side, while Lelouch brought all the Knights of the Round there.

"As you wish, Your Majesty." Bishop nodded before heading out.

Lelouch couldn't see her face, but he was sure his Witch was grinning. "Since I have this chance, why not prolong our negotiations, Lelouch? Give the world a verbal battle between Zero and the Emperor."

"You know we have a script to follow." Lelouch rolled his eyes. They needed to make the talks look as believable as possible, even if everything was already decided. Not too long, but not too short either.

"You know the saying 'fake it till you make it'. Zero is known for bringing unexpected miracles out of nowhere. Wouldn't it be interesting for regular people if a masked man suddenly challenged the famous emperor to a debate?"

"No."

Kallen pushed C.C. forward before giving Lelouch an apologetic smile. "Don't worry, I'm sure Kaguya wouldn't allow anything like that to happen. She sure understands C.C.'s weird tendencies."

Lelouch gave his Witch a stare that she immediately understood and gave the two some privacy.

"I hope so, and Kallen."

"What-?"

The redhead stopped as Lelouch walked closer to her and closed the distance between their faces. She was caught off guard but didn't fight when Lelouch placed his lips on top of hers. Blue eyes went wide for a second, worried as if someone would see them like this, but a moment later Kallen closed them calmly. If Lelouch wanted to show his affection she wouldn't deny him. The kiss wasn't hungry, or lustful and didn't last too long, just enough for both of them.

Lelouch pulled back and looked at his Q1 with a small smile. "I know that everything was planned and talked over, but make sure you will be safe."

"I-you don't need to worry about me, Lelouch." Kallen brightly smiled. "If something goes wrong, I'm getting you and C.C. out of there."

"Don't forget, I have Bishop here, plus the entire Scarlet Guard to protect me if needed."

Kallen snorted. "Maybe but do they know that their leader likes to get himself into the worst situation just to achieve his insane plan? I had to get your royal ass out of some mess."

"I'm sure Jeremiah would repeat everything you did in a heartbeat without me even asking. Still, with my shadow Knight of Zero, I imagine their work should become easier."

The ace pilot of the Black Knights and now of the empire gave him a confident expression. "I won't allow anything to happen to you, Lelouch. Never again."

"Good, now let's get going, I'm sure we made everyone wait long enough."

Kallen nodded as she followed him, only for Zero to lazily stare at them from the top of the stairs.

"What's this? Is my own bodyguard cheating on me right behind my back? The White Emperor himself cucking Zero? Oh, the humanity."

"Please never say that again, my Witch." Lelouch wanted to-what was the word Rivalz used? Oh, yeah, cringed. "That gives me a confusing mental image."

"I'm sure people will feel the same when they see Kallen of the Black Knights as one of the White Emperor's Knights of the Round in the not-so-distant future, my Warlock." Both Kallen and Lelouch couldn't say anything to that. "Well, if you two lovebirds are finished, let's start this circus called politics."

The room for negotiations was the academy's enormous gym that could have easily fitted multiple Knightmares. However, for now, it was occupied by multiple tables and representatives from both the Federation and the Empire. The most noticeable part was the little podium with two tables on opposite sides, one for the UFN and another for Britannia. The flags of both nations were hanging over them. No Knightmares or armed personnel was allowed to enter the room, besides Zero's bodyguard and the Emperor's Knight of One.

Chairwoman Kaguya Sumeragi silently sat next to Zero. As the leader of the Federation's ruling party, she was expected to be Zero's right hand during the talks. Her green eyes looked forward to seeing the blonde Messiah of Europe, Leila Malcal in the same position as the Japanese princess, only for the Emperor. Since Britannia didn't have a prime minister yet, Lelouch wanted Leila to be his right hand for today.

For many, it would have been the highest honour, but for Geass user, it was just another trick to make her accept Lelouch's proposition as his PM. Considering the issues with the Order of Black Knights and whatever endgame Lelouch had in mind, Kaguya might not be against the idea of taking the blonde's place.

Soon all chatter ended as everyone's attention moved towards the main entrance as the two most powerful men on the planet entered. Zero and White Emperor, followed by their protectors, moved to their positions. Zero nodded towards Kaguya who stood up to officially start the talks.

"I welcome our Britannian side for coming to this historical event. I'm confident that together we can achieve what no one before us ever managed to do, and I hope that we will succeed and come to an agreement on every matter between our nations."

Lelouch said nothing, still silently smiling while Leila cleared her throat. "As the advisor and confidant of His Majesty, I speak for the entirety of Britannia when I say that peace and prosperity are the primary goals of everyone in this room."

"Excellent, now let's focus on the matter of disputes between two nations. Ever since its formation, the Federation couldn't solve the matter of maritime boundary. As the successor to the Chinese Federation, Federations expects to inherit-"

And so the talks started. For the most part, it was primarily Kaguya and Leila talking with occasional add-ins from either side. Lelouch noted that Empress Tianzi was trying to bring up some issues as well, despite being too shy, the girl was doing relatively well. As for himself and Zero, they would only add some small talk from time to time, leaving the main stage to the two political heads. Well, Leila would have been a political leader if she agreed to the Prime Minister position, but there's always tomorrow to convince her.

The talks covered all important and hot matters between UFN and Britannia. From the question of borders to the matter of inheriting the responsibilities of the UFN ancestor state Chinese Federation in the matter of agreements and deals with the Holy Britannian Empire. Meanwhile, the UFN side had multiple issues with how exactly they should treat the Commonwealth of Imperial States that replaced the EU, considering that the remnants of the EU army were under the Black Knights' protection. It was easy to see that Leila was personally involved in this question and made sure that none of her former comrades will be persecuted for following the orders of the dysfunctional government at the time of war, and that all of them will be greeted as citizens of a new European state without any fuss. Lelouch expected some backlash from the citizens of Britannia who weren't too happy with that matter, but his subjects from Europe should be glad to hear it.

However, soon the question came to the most controversial topic between the two countries.

"What about Japan?" Zero spoke, silencing the entire room. "After everything that happened, we cannot ignore this question. The Black Knights were originally created to liberate Japan from tyranny."

"That was true, but I made sure to deal with this tyranny myself, Zero." The White Emperor answered. "Japanese issues are important to me as well. I lived in this nation for a decade and saw the struggles of the Japanese people who were treated as second-class citizens. And it is within my intentions to see this island prosper under my rule and to make up for everything my homeland did in the past."

"That's a noble goal, but I'm sure people would prefer to decide their fate themselves. Even if you're the positive change, there is too much bad blood between two groups on the island." Zero commented. None dared to interrupt the two leaders. Even Kaguya silently watched, doing her best to hide the uneasiness.

"True, but what about the Britannians who moved to Japan and lived here for years? Those who settled it and built families? As the Emperor of Britannia, I cannot ignore them and simply give their lives to UFN. Sorry, but how can I know that the Black Knights won't turn the tables and oppress my people once Japan is theirs? I'm sure it isn't a secret that pre-invasion Japan under the rule of the Kururugi clan was far from the most tolerant and accepting place."

"Times change just as people do. The Black Knights worked with other nations to create the UFN and followed me, a non-Japanese person, as I tried my best to assist them. Your Majesty must understand that this matter is of personal importance to me. Young and old, men and women, the Japanese fought and died while following me, believing I would create a miracle they always wanted to see. The independent state of Japan. I would ask Your Majesty to see things from my perspective. I cannot face my followers and comrades after everything I did and announce that Japan isn't free." Zero leaned forward. "Worst case scenario I'm worried that the people who lost too much, and waited too long will become desperate and commit acts without my approval."

A dangerous thing to say in life, but Lelouch wrote this line for C.C. himself. The White Emperor nodded, trying to act as if he was in deep thought. "I see… I dealt with my nation's purebloods to avoid a similar issue. While I cannot advise the same to you, Zero, I would suggest trying to remove more radical elements of your Order for the sake of everyone, themselves including. As for Japan… this matter cannot be solved by just you and me, we both have our agendas and won't give up. Therefore I suggest a compromise."

"Oh?"

"A vote," Lelouch smirked when he saw Kaguya's eyes go wide, she wasn't informed of this. "Let the people of this nation vote for themselves, do they wish to be part of my Britannia or become an independent state? Well, as independent as any other nation within your Federation. Fair voting will be ensured by both sides."

"Hmm, but how can we guarantee that voting will be sincere with Britannian citizens obviously voting in your favour? After everything that took place in the last two years, I'm worried that the number of people of Britannian nationality will outnumber Japanese people significantly. Your people will be biased and vote against an independent Japan. I suggest allowing the Japanese members of Black Knights to participate in the vote as well."

"Then wouldn't it create the same problem? My citizens voting against independence and your soldiers voting for? I know that after everything that happened some would be happy if Britannian people who were treated as first-class citizens weren't allowed to vote, but that would be no better than the policies of the past. Meanwhile, the Japanese soldiers of your Order are guaranteed to vote in favour of free Japan, especially if the Black Knights will bring in all Japanese that fled their homeland following the invasion. In that case, the vote will become an ensured victory for your side. Hardly a fair matter."

"So we're at a deadlock," Zero concluded.

"It would appear so. This matter cannot be solved easily, but I'm worried that we both have pressing matters beyond this question." Lelouch had to deal with his siblings for good while Zero needed to find the conspirators within the Order, at least so believed the average person. "We more or less agreed on all other issues and already agreed to a peace agreement between our states. I think the Japanese question can be left alone for the time being."

"I have to disagree, the status quo would benefit pretty much only Your Majesty while my followers will continue to live without a home to call their own. As their leader, I cannot agree to current terms."

"Is that so? Then… what if the Black Knights were allowed to live among other cities of the Special zone of Japan?" Everyone on the UFN side froze upon hearing. Even the empire's officials weren't informed about their emperor's plans. "I understand that they fought for the right to live as free people and I respect it. Therefore I'm willing to grant amnesty to all Japanese members of the Black Knights and allow them to live as free citizens in my Britannia. They can be the empire's citizens as well as the soldiers in the Order. Of course, that part must be cleared out, but I see no issues implementing this from my side. What do you think, Zero?"

Lelouch thought it was the safest solution to slowly dissolve the Order of Black Knights. Instead of giving them Japan or tossing them aside, why not welcome them back with open arms? Only to assimilate them one way or another. With his Witch as acting Zero and the leadership of Black Knights eventually going against the new Zero, the confused members of the Order would be an easy target to turn into Lelouch's subjects without any use of his Geass.

"Allowing the Black Knights to live alongside Britannains might cause conflicts between our people, Your Majesty…"

"I know I can guarantee that my subjects won't do anything that would bring harm to them. I will ensure the safety of your people no matter what. As well as welcoming the Black Knights into positions of power within my government. So, your thoughts, Zero? I would call it the best solution for the time being. Who knows, maybe when the time comes to vote our people will change their minds and we will get unexpected results."

"..." Zero thought about it for some time, everyone in the room tensed up waiting for the next move from either leader. However, no one expected the masked man to raise and walk toward the emperor and offer his arm. "Lelouch vi Britannia, do you swear to protect the interest and lives of the Japanese, no, the people who want to live and see the brighter future of this nation no matter what?"

The White Emperor stood up from his seat and took Zero's hand. "After all the bloodshed I saw as a child during the invasion years ago, the last thing I want is another full-out war between Britannians and Japanese. We all deserve happiness after the horrors and chaos we were forced to live through. As the monarch whose primary dream is to create a peaceful world for all of humanity, no matter their past, I promise that I will do everything in my power to guarantee a prosperous life for both of our people"

"Then I see no problem trusting you, Your Majesty."

"And I hope for future cooperation between us, Zero."

Two leaders shaking hands and promising to improve the world was sure to look good on the screens around the world. Lelouch expected this image to become a symbol of cooperation between UFN and Britannia, for the sake of manipulating it in the future.

However, the world itself wasn't to simply accept Lelouch's vision.

What neither Lelouch nor Zero expected was for the ceiling to collapse as a white titan fell from the sky. The infamous Knightmare with green energy wings raised its weapon at both sides of peace talks as the voice of the traitorous knight spoke.

"By the order of Her Majesty, Nunnally vi Britannia, this farce of a peace negotiation is over!"

Suzaku Kururugi shouted as he took every person in the room hostage. Lancelot Albion flew over both Emperor Lelouch and Zero, its Super V.A.R.I.S aimed at them. Both Kallen and Bishop already moved in front of their respectable leaders. No one stopped filming as the entire world could only watch as the Knight of Seven aka White Reaper fell from the sky and took over the scene.

"Suzaku!"

Lelouch clenched his fists, this was one thing he couldn't prepare for. His old friend once again appeared out of nowhere and ruined everything. The pilot of Lancelot stared at his once best friend from the monitor before turning his attention to the cameras.

"I'm Kururugi Suzaku, the Seventh Knight of the Round, servant of Her Majesty Nunnally vi Britannia. I have come here today to reveal the truth to all those who believe the lies of Lelouch vi Britannia." His right arm pointed at Zero, still holding the giant rifle.

"This isn't the Zero who created the Black Knights or tried to get rid of Britannia two times. He is nothing but an imposter sent among the ranks of Black Knights in order to allow Lelouch to take over the Order! Lelouch was lying to the entire world all this time, everything he did and said was nothing but fabricated nonsense he used to manipulate everyone around him! The truth is-!"

Tokyo. UFN embassy.

Inside the embassy building serving as the base of the Black Knights inside Tokyo, numerous Black Knights soldiers checked the place for anything suspicious. Both of the Black Knights' military leaders arrived there today to make sure the UFN chairwoman and 'Zero' wouldn't be able to avoid meeting them anymore. Ever since the new Zero first appeared, both Tohdoh and Xingke were trying to find the best moment to arrest and question him. However, because of Kaguya, they couldn't do anything or the chairwoman might cause a political incident. Worst case scenario it would have created a rift among the Order with some following the fake Zero instead of them.

However, right now both men were more busy watching the live broadcast of the peace talks. At least, they were supposed to be just that.

"We need to act," Xingke said before trying to exit, planning to get his Knightmare.

His friend tried to stop him. "Don't rush, general. We don't know what Suzaku is trying to achieve. Perhaps he can deal with both Emperor Lelouch and his puppet Zero for us-"

"Tianzi is there!" Xingke shouted, not bothered to hide his fury. "I won't allow anything to happen to her! And not only that but If we don't do anything the rest of the Federation leadership will question the current high command of the Black Knights. We need to save both Tianzi and Zero or our own people will replace us."

"..."

Tohdoh said nothing, silently agreeing with his statement and decided to follow his Chinese comrade outside. Both of their Knightmares stood in front of the embassy, ready to go. Both generals called the rest of their forces and were about to fly towards the Ashford academy when the news arrived, even worse than before.

"General Tohdoh! Ohgi tried to contact you two and ask about-"

Before Chiba could even finish a loud explosion was heard around the city as everyone turned toward the sky. Ever calm Tohdoh and Xingke froze when they saw the image of Ikaruga opening fire at the Britannian side.

"What in the-"

"Oh, Komi-!"

"What is going on," Xingke whispered while Tohdoh rushed towards his Zangetsu, not even thinking about hearing the rest of what Chiba said.

"O-our forces engaged in a fight with Britannia-" Chiba looked horrified, not ready for any of this. "There is too much confusion but it seems Ikaruga opened fire first-"

Xingke didn't bother to listen to the rest as he raised his hand. "Enough. Mobilize all forces in the city. Britannians won't bother trying to make sense of what is going on with their emperor being a hostage. All forces to be in a defensive formation, do not attack the Britannian position-"

The Chinese warrior was interrupted by another explosion, this time way closer to their position. However, the new exposition was followed by gunfire that was getting closer every moment.

"Sir! Britannia attacked our part of the city! Their H-hounds appeared out of nowhere and-"

"Knights of the Round!"

Someone shouted as Xingke turned to see something moving towards the embassy, upon closer inspection he saw the energy wings.

Cambodia.

Schneizel watched the live broadcast, satisfied that Sir Kururugi managed to accomplish the hardest part of the mission. Even with energy wings, it wasn't guaranteed that Lancelot Albion would make it to Tokyo. Pretty much the entire air space around the Ashford academy was off limits for anyone, let alone wanted Knightmare. However, the Knight of Seven knew how to surprise the former prime minister.

"It would have been so easy to detonate Lancelot and deal with multiple issues at once," Schneizel whispered to himself.

His ever-loyal assistant Kanon cleared his throat. "Your Highness."

"Oh, yes? Don't worry, Kanon, I'm only thinking aloud. Almost forgot. Mr Ried, how is your progress?"

Schneizel almost forgot he wasn't alone in the room. He looked around the command centre of his newly built super weapon. Damocles was pretty much complete. While it was still preferred to finish the final touches, according to his engineers the battle station was ready and could be operated, its arsenal fully prepared. As usual he was surrounded by his sister and the former Black Knight. Their empress was left out of the meeting since it wasn't necessary for Nunnally to be there for this part of the plan, instead preparing to give a speech for the entire world once Lelouch's lies were revealed.

Cornelia looked conflicted. "Kururugi should capture Lelouch and bring him here. Without their master, his puppets would fall apart."

"Wishful thinking at best, sister. Lelouch isn't so simple, I'm certain that he has a backup plan should something happen to him. Even if he will die, our sister Marrybell is still under his command and is likely to become the new empress." Although Schneizel was doubtful their sister would be very successful in ruling Britannia, she would most likely just follow whatever plan Lelouch left for her. "Not to mention, revealing his past lies should have a better effect, crushing Lelouch's credibility as well as ruining the Black Knights' image. So, how is it going Mr Ried?"

"Eh- we have a problem, or two." The former reporter said nervously as he tried to operate one of the computers. "I'm unable to take control over their communicators."

Schneizel blinked. "What? But you said that-"

"I know! But something interrupts my signal!" Diethard snapped in a rare display of anger. "I don't know how, but my codes and backdoor exits I left in the Order's system and Tokyo don't work. But we have a bigger issue. All news channels started showing this-"

Diethard showed them the hottest topic on every channel right now. The sudden appearance of the White Reaper was no longer the only problem both Britannia and Federation were facing since now their forces were fighting between each other in confusion.

Black Knights Knightmares in the company of European Alexanders were attacking the Britannian positions. Ikaruga opened fire with some of its weapons at the side of Ashford academy while Nemesis started to move towards the location of peace talks, no doubt trying to rescue the Emperor. Some news channels even showed more concerning things, such as a multi-coloured Knightmare that was an exact copy of Lancelot Albion fighting against Black Knights, while a centaur-like war machine moved with incredible speed around the city, with a giant scythe. And then there were the newscasters and reporters.

"Just a moment ago, the Black Knights' flagship attacked-"

"We're receiving multiple reports that the Order of Black Knights have attacked the cit-"

"Knights of the Round engaged in a fight with-"

Cornelia li Britannia liked to think of herself as a battle-hardened woman who saw the most unsettling images in the life of a soldier. However, she won't hide the fact that witnessing her always calm and collected brother Schneizel in a panicked and lost state was the last thing she ever wanted to see.

"What the hell is going on."

Schneizel el Britannia muttered under his breath as the Order of the Black Knights started a fight with Britannia, but none of this was his plan.

No, not his plan. But it was part of her plan.

Ashford Academy.

He felt sick.

Suzaku listened to the open channels, waiting for the prepared video made by Diethard to start playing out. However, he saw none of that. Instead of the video that was meant to show the true identity of the real Zero, filmed by Diethard on board the Ikaruga, Suzaku saw dozens of notifications. All of them spoke about the fight that took place in the city around them.

'What is going on?!'

According to the plan, Nunnally was supposed to give a speech before the entire world, condemning Lelouch for his lies and once again calling for the world to deny him as the Emperor.

None of that happened. Suzaku was left without any instructions on what to do now. The Japanese Knight felt a chill run down his spine as he stared at the people before him. The shock was replaced with anger and looks of defiance. They were still afraid of death, but the Knight of Seven was losing control of the situation. Despite his big words, Suzaku didn't do anything else.

It wasn't a surprise when Lelouch spoke… and was followed by Zero.

"Is this some kind of joke, Kururugi Suzaku?" Lelouch spoke as he pushed Bishop away to give him more space. He looked around the giant room, at the other hostages. "We were in the middle of actually trying to achieve harmony through peaceful means, something one of your former masters always wanted to accomplish, well except one. I bet she would have been furious by your actions, Suzaku."

'Always the smart ass, even in the face of danger.' Suzaku could never understand how Lelouch managed to ignore danger around himself so easily. 'Even when you were hiding under the mask of Zero, you were too daring. And the price for that was the lives of the innocent.'

"I have to agree." Zero nodded. "The last thing I expected today was for the Japanese Knight of the Round to come uninvited and ruin the talks that were meant to improve the situation of his people. Suzaku, what are you even trying to accomplish now?"

"Be quiet!" Suzaku barked at them, but none of them even flinched while the Japanese pilot started to panic. 'Dealing with Lelouch alone was difficult, but now I have to tolerate his imposter.'

He was getting too worked up, too angry for no reason. Suzaku knew Lelouch, Zero, and they had this effect on him. After everything they, he has done, Suzaku couldn't just stay calm while in the same room. The memories of everything were popping up in his head.

"Cousin, why are you doing this? All of this?" Kaguya joined the conversation as she walked around the table to stand next to Lelouch and Zero. "This is the first time I see you since China and the first thing you do is point the weapons at us. Suzaku, for the love of everything our people suffered and died for, please lower your weapons. If you want to represent Princess Nunnally vi Britannia, I will personally vouch in your favour to let you stay."

"Can't promise anything," Lelouch smirked, not even trying to play along with his old friend. "Suzaku did break many laws ever since I took the throne, he won't get off with a simple fine after everything."

"You forced my hand!" Suzaku roared while Lelouch raised his hand in fake surrender, still grinning.

'The Special Zone massacre, the Black Rebellion, the Second Battle of Tokyo, the rescue attempt in Germany, my service under Charles- you forced me into those situations, Lelouch! I never wanted to be part of any of this!'

"No idea what you are talking about, Suzaku Kururugi. I don't remember forcing you to do anything."

Zero raised his hand. "I believe that was intended for me, wasn't it Sir Kururugi? I'm sure you feel like my actions for the sake of the Japanese people and the accident with Princess Euphemia-"

"I told you to never say her name again!" Suzaku shouted before he stopped himself. 'Wait, no, I said that to Lelouch, not this faker.'

"Huh? I don't remember ever hearing that." Zero sounded genuinely surprised.

For a moment, Suzaku forgot that there were two of them.

"You two-!"

'Bastard, killer, liar, manipulator, monster-!'

"Suzaku," Kallen spoke for the first time since the start of the talks. "What the fuck are you doing?!"

Taken aback by sudden fury from his old nemesis, Suzaku tried to speak. "Kal-"

"Not only did you become a butcher under that bastard Charles and killed your own countrymen, but you're constantly doing everything in your power to rob the Japanese people of their right to be happy, to live." Kallen didn't even pretend to hide her anger, she was done. "What are you even trying to accomplish anymore? Like for real? Charles is dead, and Schneizel did jack shit to free Japan. But them?" She pointed at Zero, Lelouch and Kaguya. "They were actually doing something to improve the situation for everyone. Instead of just killing people who stood in their way, we actually managed to sit peacefully and suggest the best ways to fix shit. But no! Our self-proclaimed knight in shining armour just had to fall from the sky and ruin everything for everyone, again! What the fuck do you even want at this point?!"

"I-I-" the Japanese Knight felt like he would puke any moment.

Suzaku tried to remember his own promise from that day when he fought Lelouch again in Germany. The images in his head flashed as he started to remember everything, every battle he had against Lelouch in the past. When the raven-haired bastard was still Zero- no, now.

"I want to bring to justice-"

"Hearing the word 'justice' from the mouth of White Reaper who massacred entire armies and left cities in rubble seems like a sick joke." Leila Malcal made herself known as Lancelot turned to her. "This is the first time we see each other, Kururugi Suzaku, if hiding inside a Knightmare can be counted as such. However, I heard more than enough about the Britannian Butcher who is as infamous as the Vampire of Britannia himself was before. Despite hearing about you from Emperor Lelouch, I could never understand how someone with such a noble goal as yours could serve someone like Charles or Schneizel."

The memories of his time in Europe returned to Suzaku. That time when he was forced to protect Lelouch, no, Julius-

'I wanted to kill him every moment.'

Back then, even if he were Geassed, Lelouch acted as if the entire world spun around him. As Charles's pawn, Lelouch sent the EU into a state of chaos and now one of its former leaders was practically serving Lelouch. Suzaku was sure Leila Malcal was either Geassed or manipulated by him. How else could someone like her cooperate with Lelouch?

Suzaku felt sick. He felt like his entire body was on fire, moving fingers felt beyond painful.

"I… I am the knight of Her Majesty Nunnally vi Britannia-"

"Please, Suzaku. Even my sister understands she is just a puppet, you of all people would know that better than others." Zero, no, Lelouch spoke while Suzaku had to take a double look between the two. "After all, you never had issues using people close to you as stepping stones in order to achieve what you wanted."

'You're one to talk!' Lelouch was no better than him, no, his old friend was worse. Suzaku knew it. For every sin Suzaku was forced to commit, Lelouch has done dozens more. Suzaku felt sick even thinking about it. He felt pain in his head as the memories of everyone who died because of Lelouch flashed in his head, it was painful. They didn't deserve to die like that, because of Lelouch. His hand trembled as he focused on the image before him.

"Sir Kururugi." Bishop once again moved in front of his master as the old knight noticed that the white Knightmare was actually turning its head at the sides, the erratic movement causing an audible creak of the grind of metal, its weapon slightly faltering in place and raising whenever someone spoke. Reminding an older knight of the pilots who suffered shell shock. "As the knight who failed his loved one, I ask you to stop this madness at once. If you aren't willing to surrender, then at least leave this place at once. My master and his friend Zero were close to taking a step towards a better future. I'm sure Her Highness Euphemia would have understood it."

'You don't know her! None of you knows what she would have wanted!' Suzaku wanted to scream. They would never understand someone as innocent and kind as Euphy, even-

Even…

Even Suzaku couldn't understand her, not anymore.

How she could discard her chance to get the throne so easily because of Suzaku, for his people?

What she found in some honourable number who was looked down upon by his own countrymen.

He couldn't understand how she could see the good in everyone around her.

'Including Lelouch.'

Suzaku could never see what she saw in her half-brother.

The one who took her life.

The one who destroyed her dream, a project that took everything from Euphemia, including her life.

The same brother who could easily use everyone around him as pawns and tools to achieve his goals.

The brother who had the audacity to claim to understand her when even Suzaku couldn't see the world the same way Euphemia did. Not anymore.

'It is all your fault!' Suzaku stared at Lelouch who, like before, was dressed in dark robes, and that mask! That damn mask that took the life of his dear Euphy. 'You took her life, killed her. Now you want to kill Nunnally, your own sister, you're a monster-!'

That was definitely what Lelouch would do, Suzaku knew it. Lelouch killed his siblings, and his parents already. What is stopping him from taking the life of another royal? Suzaku knew what would stop Lelouch for good. He will.

'I wanted to show the world your lies and prove that you're nothing but a fraud who tricked the entire world. But-'

The original plan was no longer possible for whatever reason, for which Suzaku honestly didn't care anymore.

Lancelot Albion stared at Lelouch who was standing behind Kallen, still hiding behind the others, in that cursed mask of his.

'But-'

Suzaku remembered Kamine Island. That time when he could have shot Lelouch, to end this nightmare for good, forever. That time when his green-haired partner interrupted him. When she knocked out his gun.

'I could have saved her-'

"Euphy-"

His wide green eyes closed as the Japanese Knight tried to remember for one moment, their time together. Tried to remember the sweet face of his princess, the one whom he loved so much. Her angelic face and gentle voice-

'Suzaku-'

"Suzaku-!" His eyes snapped open as he heard her voice, of his princess. No, not a princess, not anymore.

"E-Nunnally."

Suzaku called his new master's name, already tired of the current situation and his strange condition. Was it stress? That didn't matter, he had to focus on the mission at hand.

"What is going on? Why-why didn't you tell the truth about Lelouch to the world? Why Nunnally?"

"Suzaku, I-" Was it a worry or dread he heard in her voice? "The plan has changed. I want you to capture Lelouch. Bring him in, alive, no matter what."

Suzaku stopped looking at the people around him. His attention only focused on the masked bastard Zero- Lelouch.

The special zone was almost completed. Everything Nunnally wanted, everything she did for this dream. Everything was destroyed, corrupted by him! Lelouch! Zero ruined everything he touched! His lies! His Geass! Everything went wrong because of him, if it wasn't for him then Euphemia would have been alive.

"You!"

Why bring someone like him to Nunnally? To allow him to use his Geass on everyone around her?

'The same way he used Geassed on Euphemia before?!'

Suzaku couldn't allow that, never again. He would never repeat the mistake that took Euphemia's life. Not when it meant losing Euphy- Nunnally.

'Today was meant to be her special day, everything she worked for and gave up everything in order to achieve. But you ruined everything, Lelouch!'

Lancelot Albion pulled away its V.A.R.I.S rifles as its metallic hands reached forward, towards its target. Both Bishop and Kallen were unable to react fast enough when the white Knightmare grabbed him, Lelouch.

Everyone froze as Bishop stood in front of his lord while Kallen moved closer toward the man she loves. Meanwhile, the pilot of the death machine focused entirely on the person in his hands.

"Lelouch!" Suzaku roared like a wild animal as his Knightmare captured the masked man.

"You-you-!" His old friend, enemy, spoke as he struggled in the machine's grasp. "Boy, you're making a big mistake-"

Mistake.

'Mistake.'

"Mistake," Suzaku whispered.

A distant memory appeared in the mind of the knight. A memory of two old friends yelling at each other in a cave on some godforsaken island. Zero and Suzaku. Lelouch and Suzaku. Of all the words they said to each other, only one was on the Japanese boy's mind.

"Your-"

Suzaku pressed down on the controls as Lancelot Albion's hands started to crush the masked revolutionary. A mortal caught in the grasp of a titan.

"-very existence-"

"Agh-!" Zero, Lelouch shouted while someone in a white robe on the ground screamed in horror. One of Lelouch's puppets no doubt.

"- is a mistake!"

"Stop it, Suzaku!" Kaguya, Kallen, everyone shouted at once. Or was it only one person? Suzaku didn't care. All that mattered to him was dealing with the monster- the demon in his hands- at his complete mercy.

'No, no more mercy for him!'

For everything he has done, for all the lives he destroyed, Lelouch-

"You need to be erased from the face of the Earth!"

SNAP.

One moment Zero, Lelouch, was trying to move and the next, he went numb. No more moving, no more lying, no more using others for the sake of his plans. No more Lelouch, Zero was dead.

Outside these academy walls, the entire city was slowly turning into another battlefield as both sides were preoccupied. However, the cameras that were meant to film historical peace talks didn't stop working, they continued to broadcast everything within Ashford to the outside world. And so, everyone could see it.

Everyone saw how Suzaku Kururugi killed him.

What was supposed to be a glorious day, turned into a horrific tragedy at one moment. All thanks to one knight.

The man who brought nothing but destruction and pain for Japan, for the whole world, was dead for good. No return, no resurrection, nothing for him. His slaves, the Black Knights, and Britannia, were free now- Suzaku saved them all-

"Zero, C-" Kaguya whispered in horror while Leila moved in front of the chairwoman to cover her.

"Agh-!" Suzaku felt a weak smile, his hands started to shake. He did it. He finally did it! Lelouch was no more! He- 'I killed him. I killed him. I killed him-'

He went against Nunnally's order.

'I accomplished the mission.'

"You-!" Suzaku blinked, unable to process how he could see an exact copy of that man standing right behind a huge old knight and a redhead girl. "Suzaku!"

"Lelouch-?"

But Suzaku killed him… the corpse of Zero was lying right before him. How could there be another Lelouch? Was it another trick of his? Another plan to lie to everyone?! What was-

"Agh!" Suzaku vomited, feeling dizzy after everything. 'What- why do I feel exhausted, hungry- what?'

"Suzaku!" His princess screamed from another end of a communicator as Suzaku snapped back to reality. That voice, the voice of an angel, the one Suzaku promised to protect no matter what-

"Euphemia!"

Euphy's voice became confused for a second. "What? No, it is me- Nevermind, Suzaku, you must leave now!"

Yes, leave. Suzaku needed to escape. The mission was accomplished, and Zero was dead. Lelouch will no longer bother them, or him, anymore. Never again.

He took a last look at the people under him. The copy of Lelouch was kneeling over the corpse of Zero, holding him closely. The poor soul was Geassed to obey Lelouch even after his death. He was just another victim… all of them were, just like Suzaku-

As Lancelot Albion flew upwards, the moment it was out of the Ashford building, an unexpected hadron ray hit the white Knightmare, sending it flying. Suzaku didn't react for one second even as the monitors of his Knightmare showed a danger notification. Lancelot Albion was surrounded by a green shield as it hit one of the empty buildings of his old academy. His Blaze Luminous shields protected him from the attack, but he didn't dodge.

'I-I didn't feel it. That means the command-'

The command to live, the one that bastard forced on him was gone. Suzaku lost it. He… he was free-

"You little son of a bitch!" An unknown male voice shouted as a Knightmare similar in design to Anya's Mordred appeared in Suzaku's sight. However, unlike his fellow knights, this one was armed beyond the norm. "Dropping from the sky and ruining the day for everyone, you little shit!"

As the pilot spoke, the dark red and grey bulky Knightmare with a weird headpiece opened fire with a minigun. However, the green shields continued to protect Lancelot Albion even now. Suzaku didn't know what to do anymore. Should he engage in a fight? Or just allow his attacker to finish him off? Suzaku didn't care anymore, he was finally free from everything.

'I killed Lelouch. I no longer have the command to live.' Suzaku could just allow them to end his life and be done with it. He-

"If you want to die so badly then turn off your fucking shields!" The man shouted as Suzaku looked at the weird Knightmare. However, he wasn't alone anymore.

One of the attackers turned towards its commander. "Lord Thomson-!"

"Shut up, Jenny! Go and help Orange save our fucking Emperor!" The regular Vincent Ward said nothing as it flew away, several Scarlet Guard Knightmares followed him. "Everyone else! Focus your fire on the little cunt before us! Don't stop firing until nothing but rubble is left of him! Fire!"

Vincent Wards, the red Knightmares that Suzaku fought against in Germany, and Akatsukis surrounded Lancelot Albion. All of their weapons were aimed at him. The pilot inside the white Knightmare just laughed at this. Soon they opened fire. Bullets, hadron rays, rockets, everything flew towards Suzaku while the green shield absorbed all damage, saving its pilot for now.

'So this is how it will end, huh?' The Britannians and the Japanese worked together to kill him. How fitting for Suzaku to go out like this. Perfect. 'I will finally rest, I can-'

"His Majesty was secured! I repeat, Emperor Lelouch was rescued. His Majesty is safe-!" Someone announced on the open channel and Suzaku froze.

What

No, it couldn't be-

Suzaku crushed him with Lancelot's own hands. He murdered that monster, for good, forever-

'I killed Zero, I killed Lelouch!'

Lelouch was supposed to be dead! Meant to be dead-!

"He is dead! Lelouch is dead!"

Suzaku shouted trying to prove to the entire world that the masked liar was dead. However, none of them heard him, instead, they counted to shoot at him. Suzaku snapped back, understanding that they wouldn't see the truth like this. And so he activated the energy wings and opened fire at everything around him with them. Luminous wings opened fire with green energy as they hit every Knightmare around him. Only a few remained standing after that. Those red Knightmares that acted as Lelouch's bodyguard, red just like Guren, and that Mordred-like-walking arsenal.

"Lelouch is dead! That monster is dead!"

Lancelot Albion rose up into the air, waving its hand towards the place of talks. The dark red and grey Knightmare stopped firing as its pilot took a long hard look at Suzaku's machine.

"You're blind bitch! Even I can see with one eye that you took out the wrong person! My boss Lelouch vi Britannia is alive! You killed Zero, you little cunt!" Peter Thomson announced as Suzaku's mind went dark

"What? But I killed Lelouch! He was in his Zero dark costume and mask-"

'No… no, no-'

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!

He saw it with his own eyes! Lelouch was dead- his corpse fell on the ground- and-

But there were two of them.

'Lelouch and the man behind Zero's mask. The real one and a fake one. Lelouch and his faker, I didn't kill Lelouch, it was a faker-'

"Are you high or something? The boy wears only white, you killed Zero and the entire world saw it." Peter coldly said as the remaining Knightmares opened fire at Suzaku again. "And now, we will kill you."

However, this time Lancelot Albion was going to just allow them to kill him. Not anymore.

"I-!"

"Suzaku!" Her voice spoke again from the communicators as the screen showed the image of his princess. A little blonde angel was replaced with a pink-haired beauty for one moment.

"Euphy-"

"Snap out of it!" Nunnally yelled at him. "Get out of there! Right now! This is an order!"

'Order, her order. Nunnally's order. That's right!'

Suzaku swore to defend her no matter what, to make her an empress! The Japanese Knight clenched his fists as he took a deep breath. His focus and mind are now working properly.

"Yes, Your Majesty!" He repeated the same phrase he was telling Charles, to Schneizel and now to Nunnally.

Instead of fighting and killing everyone around him, Lancelot Albion raised its energy wings as it moved up. One moment it was on the ground and the next, it completely vanished. Peter's Knightmare Uncle Teddy silently watched as the little white dots just disappeared out of their sight. It was so fast, it was useless trying to go after him. However, just because the White Reaper was gone didn't mean their problems ended there. Nope. Peter turned towards the rest of Tokyo, hearing the sounds of battle. Soon his gaze fell on the giant battleship, Ikaruga, that was firing at their soldiers.

"Shit, this won't do. Jenny."

His trusted and scared first lieutenant immediately answered. "Yes, my lord?"

"I called for reinforcements, secure the entire area and shot anyone who tried to start a fight. Move His Majesty to the safe zone. I will go and take out the big annoying bird in the sky."

Peter said as his Uncle Teddy flew towards Ikaruga.

Ashford Academy.

Despite the fact that Lancelot Albion left, nothing returned to normal. If anything, the dead silence that was interrupted by the noise of fighting outside only worsened the situation.

Soon the guards, both Britannians and Black Knights, stormed the room. However, all of them froze upon seeing the sight in the centre of the room, right under the destroyed ceiling.

There, both Britannians and Japanese could see their greatest enemy and hero silently lying on the ground, not moving. All former hostages silently stared at the scene with the horrific realization of what happened moments ago.

Zero was dead. Killed by Kururugi Suzaku.

The masked man lay silently in the arms of Emperor Lelouch vi Britannia who was holding him like he lost a dear person in his life.

No one could say anything at the moment. Everyone in the room as well as around the world saw it. Zero was killed once again, and this time it was impossible for him to return. Well, at least so thought everyone who didn't know who was under the mask of Zero at the moment.

'Cera.' Lelouch wanted to take off her mask and see his Witch's face. He knew she wouldn't die since Leila didn't take away her code yet. However, it didn't mean he could just sit calmly when his beloved partner was killed once again. She suffered because of him, again. Lelouch wanted to ignore everyone and comfort C.C. who suffered and died because of him again. But he couldn't do that, so instead, Lelouch gently held her, hoping she would wake up soon.

Kallen kneeled next to him and took his hand, whispering so no one could hear. "She will be fine, don't worry. She survived the worst."

"I know..."

"Lelouch, we need to leave." His Knight of Zero advised.

Lelouch could say nothing but nod and get up. Once he took a look around the room, the White Emperor saw his captain of the guard in a panicked state run up to him.

"Your Majesty!" Jeremiah looked like he faced death with how pale his face looked. He squeezed Lelouch's shoulders, worried as if his master might disappear any second now. "Are you alright?! We need to bring you to medical-"

"Jeremiah… my loyal knight, calm down." Lelouch placed a hand on Orange's shoulder to reassure him. "I'm fine... though I can't say the same about Zero… what happened? What is the status outside?"

His cyborg bodyguard took a deep breath before he spoke again. "Your Majesty, Lord Peter managed to drive out Lancelot and reinforcements are already here. Both Britannians and Black Knights in the academy took a defensive position."

'It was expected,' Lelouch thought. The Black Knights around Ashford were Zero's Squad, people that Tamaki managed to sneak in. All of them were unlikely to start firing at the Britannians, especially when they saw a common enemy appear and kill their Zero. However, Lelouch could still hear the sounds of the battlefield. This wasn't good. He ordered everyone to turn off the cameras before addressing his first knight.

"Jeremiah, what is going on in Tokyo?"

His Knight of One paused for a second, collecting himself before speaking again.

"Your Majesty, both Britannia and the Order of Black Knights are engaged in battle all around the city. The Order opened fire at us when Suzaku Kururugi appeared. Ikaruga is currently fighting at our positions, while the Black Knights' Knightmare units together with W-0 machines are fighting on the ground."

"What?!" Both Leila and Kaguya shouted in shock. Neither could ever expect such a thing to occur. Black Knights hated Lelouch/Zero, but they would never be the first to take a shot in the current situation. Lelouch and Leila knew it was an inevitable part of the plan, but the W-0 unit wasn't supposed to be part of it, ever. There was no logical explanation for it, except one.

"My soldiers would never start the battle, they know it is suicidal, Wyvern Squad-" Leila stopped as her eyes went wide. "Geass."

The White Emperor stayed silent as he looked around. So, this was Schneizel's plan. Pure chaos. Lelouch couldn't see what his older sibling was trying to achieve right now, and frankly, he didn't care. His violet eyes turned towards Kallen. There was only one Geass user left in the wild who was capable of causing such problems with his power. The last member of the European Peace Mark cell. This was problematic for everyone.

"Q1, take Guren and Zero's Squad, I want you to get out there and stop them all. Jeremiah, Leila, find the W-0 and cancel the effect of Geass."

Kallen stood up and nodded. "I won't disappoint you, Lelouch."

"By your command, Your Majesty." Jeremiah bowed before going for his Sutherland Sieg.

Leila looked at Lelouch with a thankful expression before running after the cyborg bodyguard.

"Good, now." He turned towards Kaguya who was calming down Tianzi, the little one was still visibly shaken by what she saw. "Bishop, you and the Scarlet Guard will escort us out of here to Nemesis. I will take command from there."

His knight nodded while Lelouch stood up, still holding C.C. in Zero's attire. He was thankful for her code that ensured her body won't change, always leaving it light and easy to carry. As the Emperor of Britannia walked out of the academy, with Zero in his hands, Lelouch couldn't help but laugh. Thankfully none of his escorts could hear or be bothered to call him out on this.

"This is absurd," Lelouch spoke quietly.

"..." Lelouch breathed in, his Witch was unavailable for now, but she would be fine soon. He knew it and that was the only reassurance keeping him calm and collected right now. She didn't move in his arms, but Lelouch could feel that C.C. was still with him.

"This wasn't how I imagined any of this to happen, C.C., but I promise I will make sure everything will be fine."

The world wouldn't take anything or anyone from Lelouch ever again, he won't allow it. C.C. will live thanks to her code, but if it were anyone else whom Lelouch cared for, they would have been lost forever.

Unacceptable.

Schneizel, Cornelia, Suzaku and even Nunnally dared to think they could hurt him again? Hurt people Lelouch held close to his heart? They called him a monster, a demon… and now they shall get one. Maybe it was foolish and childish to get worked up over the "death" of his immortal partner, but Lelouch didn't care. His Witch, Leila's friends in W-0, and Kaguya's people, all were used by his enemies.

Suzaku… his old friend wasn't alright today. Lelouch could tell something was wrong with him. However, that wasn't the most important matter for the Emperor at the moment.
