Chapter 56
Cersei Lannister POV
I think I can see a bump, but maybe I'm hallucinating. I still haven't told anyone but Jaime and Dany, but I know I need to tell father soon since Tyrion knows. I want Jaime to be by my side when I tell him, but I know he can't be because that'll look more suspicious.
"So when are you telling him?" Jaime asks me. He's on his computer doing some writing for school, and I'm laying on his bed one evening.
"Why are you bugging me about this?" I respond. "I'll tell him when I'm ready."
"Cersei," I look over at him. "You need to tell him before you get a belly. It's already starting because you're skinny. It'll be easier if you just do it." I know he's right, so I get up and get dressed.
"I'll go right now," I say. "Can I come back when I'm done?"
"Of course. I'll be right here." I really do love him, he's keeping it together much better than I am. If anyone has to be the father to my baby, I'm glad it's him.
I walk down to dad's office where he's on a conference call. He sees me and waves me away, but I don't move. That's how he knows it's something serious. I go and sit down in one of his chairs. He finishes up a few minutes later and hangs up.
"What is it?" He asks me.
"Father," I say quietly. "There's something I need to tell you." Maybe if I make myself sound small and scared, he'll have more sympathy for me. He just waves at me, signaling me to get on with telling him because he doesn't have time for this.
"I'm pregnant," I say. "It's my ex boyfriend, Euron's, but he doesn't know."
Father pauses and closes his eyes, this is almost worse. I can tell he's angry, but I wish he would just get on with it and scream at me.
"When are you getting rid of it?" He asks me.
"What?"
"I mean it, Cersei. This isn't good for our reputation."
"I'm— I'm not. It's too late anyway, I've known for a month and was suspicious long before that."
"Well here's what we're going to do then," he says. I'm scared. "You won't tell anyone, only us and the boys will know. When it's time for you to have the baby, we'll go a few towns over and place it for adoption."
"Father no," I say. "I want to keep it."
"It's not up for discussion, Cersei. You can't do this to us. You need to go to school, you need to make something of yourself for the sake of all of us."
"But—"
"No. This conversation is over, now get out." I start to tear up, then I get up and walk out. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but I'm not giving this baby up. I'm going to find a way to keep it even if it kills me, even if it means I lose everything. I need to talk to Jaime, he'll make sure we're okay. I walk upstairs to Jaime's room with tears streaming down my face.
"How did it go?" He asks me when I come in. I just sit down on his bed and he wraps his arms around me. "Talk to me."
"He said I have to give the baby up for adoption," I say. "But I don't want to. He wouldn't even discuss it."
"You know I'm here for you, and we'll do whatever you want to do."
"I can't give up my child, Jaime. I can't."
"We'll figure it out, I promise you." He kisses my head and we fall asleep in each other's arms.
Jon Snow Stark POV
I'm walking to lunch with Sam on Tuesday when we walk past Daenery's table where she's sitting with the popular group, minus Ramsay and Theon. We make eye contact and she waves me over. I go and sit down next to Daenerys, Sansa looks happy that I'm sitting there. Everyone just looks at me and Sam weird when we sit down.
"Is it okay that I'm sitting here?" Sam asks.
"Of course!" Daenerys says. "Any friend of Jon's is welcome."
There's a long pause. "So are you guys dating?" Cersei finally asks. Daenerys just pauses and looks at me. I think she's waiting for me to answer.
"Yes," I respond, grabbing Daenerys' hand. "We are." She just smiles at me.
…
Sam is coming over after rock climbing to study. Or at least, he said it's to study. I think it's just to ask me about Dany. We're in my room, I'm at my desk and Sam is reading in a chair. We aren't talking because we're focusing, but I know he's waiting for a moment to bring it up.
"So," he says. "You're dating Daenerys Targaryen, when were you planning telling me about this?"
"I'm sorry Sam," I respond. "A lot happened on that trip, I was also dealing with a lot of Sansa's shit."
"What happened?"
"Ramsay was being a completely awful person, but they broke up and they aren't hanging out with him anymore. He really treated her like shit."
"Sorry, man," Sam says. There's a pause. "So what made everything happen with Daenerys?"
"Well, I beat Ramsay up when I found out he was mistreating Sansa."
"What?"
"Yeah, I just snapped. After he left, I went to go have some space and she came over and we started talking. Next thing I knew we were making out. I called her the next day and we agreed to go out."
"Wow, that's insane. You know every guy in school is going to want to be you now, right?"
I just chuckle at that. "So how are things with Gilly?" I ask.
"She's still wonderful," he responds. "I met her dad finally, but only in passing when I came to pick her up. He seemed kind of cold."
"Is she still close with Ygritte?"
Sam just nods. "Yeah, are you worried you dating Daenerys will prevent you two from becoming friends again?"
"A little," I respond. "Especially once she finds out. I want us to go back to being friends, but I don't think she'll want to once she finds out about Daenerys and I."
I really don't think Ygritte will respond well to that news. She really isn't into all of the popular group drama and gossip, and I don't think she'll like that I moved on with the most popular girl in school. I honestly don't care about Daenerys' status, she just is so much more than that. I don't think Ygritte will see it that way, though.
Sansa Stark POV
I can't believe my brother is dating Daenerys Targaryen. She seems really into him, but I think he's just shocked she wants to go out with him. I'm glad Jon helped me with what was going on with Ramsay, I didn't know how to get away from him. He was an asshole, and nothing like how I thought he was when we first met.
I've been barely eating since we got back from camping, even less than I was before. All of the stuff with Ramsay made me lose my appetite. Maybe it's a good thing, I can get a bikini body for summer.
My mom calls me into her room one evening while I'm doing homework. "Sansa?" She yells from across the house.
"Yeah?" I say walking into her room. "What's up?" I'm standing in the doorway.
"Come sit," she pats the bed and I sit down in front of her. "I want to talk to you."
"About what?"
"So I heard you and Ramsay broke up."
"How did you hear that?"
"I heard you refer to Ramsay as your ex boyfriend to Arya."
"Oh," I say, confused. "Yeah we did. He just wasn't right for me."
"I always thought he was too old for you," my mom responds. "Are you doing okay?"
"Yeah mom, I'm fine," I say trying to put on my best fake happy voice. "You're right, he was too old."
"Okay," she doesn't seem convinced. "Well let me know if you need anything." I just smile at her and walk out. If I tell her he pressured me into having sex and Jon beat him up, she'll be extremely pissed at the both of us. It's better for everyone if I just stay quiet about what really happened.
A/N: I'll be out of town for a few days starting tomorrow, so I'll be taking a break. See you soon!
