What Happened in the Night
Tiff was up thinking about what had happened earlier that day. She knew that it was already 10:27 P.M and she should be asleep but she just couldn't rest. She remembered that Spikehead told the group about the machine in the basement. 'It wouldn't hurt to go take a look.' Tiff thought. So she got out of bed. Put on her normal half pink half green dress and orange shoes, put her hair up in a high ponytail with two orange scrunchies and one purple scrunchie and walked out the door grabbing a flashlight on the way. She was walking down the halls, the torch lights giving the hallway an eerie feel. Tiff could only hear the soft taps of her feet hitting the ground. No one else was awake…that she knew of…
Sword Knight and Blade Knight were finishing up their night patrols and were talking about what happened at dinner that night.
"You saw his face! It was hilarious! He didn't suspect a thing!" Sword Knight exclaimed laughing
"Yeah! Props to you for the idea!" Blade Knight said
"We totally need to do something like that again." Said Sword
"YES!" replied Blade. They both laughed and continued walking and engaged in small talk.
Tiff heard something. Clank…clank…clank…clank…clank She was getting even more nervous. It was getting louder and louder. Then she heard laughter. 'Who could that be?' Tiff thought. She saw two shadows getting larger and larger closer and closer. She screamed.
"AHH!" Sword heard a high pitched scream. It sounded like it was right next to his ear.
"Did ya hear that Blade?" Sword asked,
"Yeah, it sounds like it's coming from right over there." Blade replied pointing in front of them. They started running towards the sound worried someone might have gotten hurt.
Tiff was screaming even louder now. The shadows were heading straight for her! 'WHO ARE THEY? THEY'RE GONNA KILL ME!' Tiff thought. She ran to one of the Dedede statue and hid behind it hoping that whoever was coming for her wouldn't find her.
Blade Knight saw something run behind one of the Dedede statues and went to go tell Sword. "I saw somethin go behind the statue." Blade Knight stated. Sword followed Blade to the statue.
Tiff was sweating at this point. She couldn't die now! The footsteps got closer and closer and she could feel the aura around them. She closed her eyes hoping that they would miss her.
"Tiff? What are you doing out here?" Tiff opened her eyes to see Sword Knight with his hand outstretched towards her
"S-S-S-Sword someone was chasing me!" Tiff replied to him,
"That was us…Tiff." Blade said moving into her field of vision.
"Oh…" Tiff said embarrassed about what had just happened.
"Here let us take you back." Blade Knight said. "No! I want you to take me to the basement…Please." Tiff said quietly
"Why?" Sword and Blade asked at the same time.
"Because, well earlier today…" Tiff explained what had happened. Sword and Blade reluctantly agreed and took her down to investigate the machine.
"Hey…Uhh Tiff mind if we join ya?" Blade asked once they got to the door.
"Sure you can join," Tiff said
"If you want." she added. Tiff heard a quiet
"Yes!" from them . They walked down the stairs in silence; the only noise that was heard was the clanking of Sword and Blades armor as they moved. Tiff wondered why they wanted to join her. 'didn't they have stuff to do?' she thought as they walked.
"Let's do this!" Sword exclaimed when they got to the door that led into the dungeons
"You ready Tiff?" Blade asked her
"I've never been more ready in my entire-"Tiff got cut off by a loud bang that came from the other side of the door. Sword and Blade got their swords out and kicked the door open ready to fight anything that might jump out at them. But nothing was there. The dungeons were deathly quiet, cold yet humid, there was no light the torches were put out, if you listen closely it seemed as if the ghosts of the poor souls that were trapped here were calling for you asking for help. Tiff, Sword, and Blade continued walking. The knights still holding their swords with a death grip.
"I-I-I don't like this l-l-l-let's go b-b-b-back." Tiff said scared.
"We can't go back yet! We just got here! Plus if I heard you right the machine should be…HERE!" Sword pointed to the open cell that held the machine that Spikehead told her about.
There stood the machine. Still covered in old dried up blood…but not ONLY that. There seemed to be…more? Yes. More blood. Newer blood…fresher blood. Tiff stopped in her tracks and went to leave when she felt something pull her back. She screamed but relaxed when she saw it was only Blade Knight
"You can just turn around and leave! Come on help us investigate if there is more blood then we kinda have to well you know figure out whose blood it is." Blade said as he pointed to Sword who was messing with the machine. "SWORD! STOP THAT! YOU COULD GET HURT!" Blade screamed as he ran towards his boyfriend
"And have I gotten hurt? No! So I am going to continue to try and figure out what the heck this is!" Sword almost yelled.
"Fine you do you then." Blade said giving up
Tiff and Blade sat down not too far away from Sword and talked about random stuff like the weather, what each of them were gonna have for dinner, and swimming. Meanwhile Sword was trying as hard as he could to get that contraption to work. He tried taking parts out, putting parts back in, kickin it, punching it, and telling it to get its life together. Nothing was working. That's when Sword noticed a hole. A key hole.
"Yo guys come here!" Sword said while motioning for Tiff and Blade to come.
"Yeah what is it?" Tiff asked
"Look, I think I may have figured out why this thing won't work." Sword pointed to the keyhole
"Does anyone have a key?" Blade asked
"I have my house key!" Tuff said
"Ok give it a go!" Blade said, Tiff tried it but it didn't work
"I have our house key." Sword replied
"Try it!" Tiff said happily
Sword tried the key and it worked! The machine turned on. Sword was happy that he finally got to figure out what the machine did, Blade was happy that Sword was happy, but Tiff had a different thing on her mind 'how come Sword's house key worked….yet my house key didn't….' Tiff was interrupted from her thoughts when she felt something grab her hand and pull her to the side.
"Hey what was that for?!" Tiff screamed
"That thing was gonna grab you!" Blade screamed back
"Oh….I'M SORRY WHAT?!" Tiff was shocked
"Yeah, you know what we should get outta here." Sword said.
Sword and Blade dropped Tiff off at her family's apartment and headed for theirs. They brainstormed on ideas of why the king would get the machine and came up with one idea. To get rid of Kirby. Even though NME was long gone the king still hated Kirby. He still had schemes but they weren't nearly as dangerous as the monsters. They were about halfway to their quarters when they saw Meta Knight walking the opposite way than the way they came.
"Sir…where are you going?" Blade asked
"Hm? Oh I was called down to see the king." Meta Knight said he seemed to have be interrupted in his thoughts
"He probably wants you to do a midnight shift." Sword commented
"I do not doubt that." Meta Knight replied
"Well we were about to head to bed so I guess we'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight sir." Blade said
"Goodnight." Meta Knight replied then continued walking
Sword and Blade made it to their quarters and made some dinner. They chatted and watched TV while they ate. Once they were done they decided to watch a movie and eat some popcorn. They weren't doing anything tomorrow anyway. They were about thirty minutes into their movie when it got interrupted by the king's apparently "important" news broadcast.
"BREAKING NEWS! ON CHANNEL DDD!" Escargoon's voice came on the TV
"Here we go again…." Sword sighed
"You won't wanna miss this everyone, do you know why?" King Dedede came on screen
"Why?" Some fake voices asked
"Because this is about your safety!" Dedede said
"Since when has he cared about our safety?" Blade asked his boyfriend
"Today a little birdy told me that we have a dangerous machine that lives in my basement. And guess what!"
"I wonder….Maybe…It may have grabbed Tiff…and how do I know CAUSE I WAS THERE! Come on Sword let's head to bed this isn't any news." Blade said as he stood up
"Wait, he might have some new info." Sword replied
"You may have heard that it tried to take Tiff, but did you hear about who owns the machine?" Dedede asked
"Somebody owns it?" Blade asked
"Yep Sombodeh owns it. And I know who! The saddest person in town…and who's that? YOUR VERY OWN META KNIGHT!" Dedede screamed
"WHAT?!" Both Sword and Blade screamed
Both of them were surprised. How and Why did Meta Knight own that? And what was his goal?...
AN: HI! So I know that this is a short chapter but I have writers block so I ended the chapter so I could start a knew one but I hope you are enjoying the story. Is Dedede lying? Is he telling the truth? If so why would Meta own that? Well I could tell you but your gonna have to wait sorry. Anyways Happy early Thanksgiving!
