By the time that the first course was done, all the students,one by one, went out the door including Lara and Evan. Evan noticed that Lara looked upset. While they were both walking, it was Evan's chance to ask a question.
"Hi, it was horrible! What happened to you? Are you okay?", asked Evan kindly.
Lara looked up at him. .Lara sighed, as she looked down where she was walking.
"Yeah…I mean, I knew him in junior high all the way to when we were in high school. When we started dating,I mean we faked dated first. It's a long story. I guess we needed to grow apart.",explained Lara to Evan.
He was thoughtfully quiet for a little while before looking at Lara .
"I could understand that feeling…",said Evan.
Lara looked steadily up at him.
"I used to date a girl in high school. At one point, her brother passed away. That's a whole story, so I totally get it." ,said Evan.
"Really.. huh!?! I guess we have something in common.",said Lara.
She started smiling from ear to ear.
"I guess. By the way, let's make sure we're not late for class.",said Lara.
Evan nodded in agreement. He and Lara continued on, walking slowly to their next class together.
