Chapter 7
Ken Kuzushi sat in a large white heavily leather padded passenger seat with a high head rest with his feet up on another chair next to him that he had had swivelled to suit his comfortability. He was in the main cabin of a private and luxurious private plane and sipped a campaign flute with grape juice. He didn't like the taste of alcohol, but he never refuted a glass of his favour beverage.
He wore all black leather that fit suitably to his firm frame. He prided himself on his looks and enjoyed the finer things in life now that he had returned back from the dead. All thanks to Morph, the Imp, with his godly power of resurrection, and the Life Note. Morph explained that he liked Kuzushi and had observed his encounter with Light Yagami in Hokkaido-Josenkei Forest.
Kuzushi had kidnapped Light's mother and sister and demanded Light give himself over body and soul, but Light had rejected him, then had a hand in his killing him. Kuzushi hated rejection. And now he wanted revenge and he was going to use Demetre Draycott to get it. Rage, his Shinigami, used a dimensional gateway to take Draycott to The Evangelist on his private island in the South China Seas. But Kuzushi didn't like the gateway and preferred a more humanization way to get from place to place which was why he chose to fly there and first class.
The plane's cabin was ritzy, clean, and posh, with a bright white interior and portholes that he could out as the plane flew 25,000 feet in the air above sea level. There was enough room for eight people to sit comfortably. In separate parts of a plane, there was a small kitchen, a bathroom, even a stocked bar. Not to mention the cockpit. The floor was carpeted with a dark crisscross grey design that gave contrast to the cabin.
The owner and pilot of the plane was a friend that he met a few years back and only by chance. He had been ostracized by his family for things that weren't even his fault. But reputation was everything to his family and he was disowned.
They teamed up when certain things were revealed that demanded revenge upon a mutual acquittance. They both had issues with Light Yagami.
Kuzushi scrolled through his cell phone as he took another sip of the flute glass. He licked his lips. There were countless articles and news on Kira. None had an idea the true nature behind the man behind it all. One conspiracy theorist's on a forum he visited called Kira's Underground even claimed Kira was not even real, but a super-virus that was killing people with massive heart attacks. He called it the 'Kira Virus'. Slightly true, Kuzushi thought. Kira is a virus upon the world.
Kuzushi believed Kira didn't have a right to tell people what they could or could not do. If they wished to engage in debauchery then that was their choice. If they wanted to engage in licentious behaviour, they should have that right. There were already laws in place to police the world. The world did not even a pseudo-god to punish those he sought were wicked and evil. Did Kira not believe in mental illness? Society and environmental factors were to blame as well. Ken knew Kira did not take these into affect when he killed. Bad was bad to Kira.
Crime was down by seventy-percent, wars were practically non-existent. Still, it was nothing but a dictatorship. That was more than enough reason to stop Kira. But he would let the police try and do that. He had other matters to engage in.
Light has no idea that I'm alive and I want to keep it that way as long as possible.
He felt the vibration of the plane as it hit a little turbulence, but then quickly settled down. He finished his grape juice and placed the flute glass into the safety of a cup holder and turned his chair when he heard the sound of the cockpit door latch unlock. His friend emerged.
"Ah, Kiefer, you're such an accomplished pilot," Kuzushi said to the other. His friend had pink hair, obviously an attempt at rebellion.
"Shut the patronization tone, Ken," Kiefer retorted snidely. "I've been flying since before puberty. I've logged over a thousand hours in the air. I stole the family jet the CROSSWIND because I thought I deserved it as an inheritance for all the shit my parents put me through."
Kuzushi rolled his eyes. "I was just being complimentary, no need to take offence," he said straightly. "Then let me more frank, Kiefer. You do your family proud with your talent even though they hate you."
Kiefer frowned angrily. "Proud? I've been disowned and it's all thanks to Light Yagami! It's taken me almost three years to climb back from the hole he put me in, sent to a criminal mental institution. The moment Yagami murdered my brother and ratted him as be a sexual predator, someone had to take the blame. And since our parents thought little of me because I had gotten into trouble with the law before due to my ADHD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, my parents blamed me for Cameron's problems. As if I was the one who raped all those women on our family yacht! Even though there was no evidence to convict me, I was still institutionalized for his crimes! He was the 'good son', while I was the villainous seed. They spent no time in abandoning me to save their own reputations in their elitist circles. My parents influence runs deep and they care more about it than their own son. When I finally got out, I was left with nothing expect for stocks and bonds which I withdrew."
"I loved that movie. That Home Alone kid was a riot!"
"Huh? What the hell are you blathering about? You said you had a plan to get revenge on Light Yagami for what he did to us. But all you've managed to do is kidnap his friend? And someone Light even doesn't much care for at the moment because of events you told me about."
"Oh, but that's the beauty of it, Kiefer," Kuzushi grinned. "Light does care for Demetre Draycott. They are still best friends even though they don't want to admit it. You can't just remove someone like that from your life completely. Trust me, I've been planning this for months. We, you and I, met years ago and we both want to destroy Light Yagami for what he'd done to us. And the best way to stab at the heart of someone is to take from them what they most care about. I know that Yagami has been looking for Draycott for a while now."
Kiefer snorted frustrated.
"Now hey, and don't be that way," Kuzushi said with pleasant smile. "C'mere…" He patted his right knee. "You're too wound up. You always get cranky when you're upset. I know what will cheer you up. It always does."
Kiefer and shook his head. "This isn't the time for that. The jet it on autopilot, but we'll be coming up to the coordinates of the Evangelist's Island soon. I have to make contact and let them know we are en-route."
"That can wait for a moment." Kuzushi patted his knee again. Kiefer sighed, relented, then went to sit, but not on Ken's knee. He sat on the seat between Kuzushi's legs in his lap. Kuzushi hugged him. He closed his eyes and nestled his head on Kiefer's right shoulder. "You're so warm, Kiefer. I have this nasty habit of feeling the cold a lot. You always warm me up."
"Stop it," Kiefer said softly. "This isn't the place…"
Kuzushi leaned in, and said, "When we're back home, I'll treat you properly. When I first you, I knew we were compatible. I was instantly attracted to you. You told me your parents knew you were gay and hated it. I think that's why you acted out to get their attention because they didn't accept you. But I do. My parents forced me to go through conversion therapy, but you can't fix something that isn't broken. Don't you ever be ashamed of who you are. You don't have to worry about their criticisms anymore. I accept you. We can be together for now on."
Kiefer cleared his throat. Kuzushi then felt Kiefer's face get warmer as he nestled his face next to him. Kuzushi then nibbled on Kiefer's right ear lobe and Ken felt Kiefer become aroused. Then he gently blew on Kiefer's ear that caused Kiefer to shiver.
"Never forget who you are," Kuzushi whispered. He then noticed a thin black cord with a small earbud attached hanging out of Kiefer's shirt, it belonged to his phone. He knew Kiefer had a medical condition that affected his hearing. "How's your tinnitus, Kiefer?"
"Manageable," Kiefer said. "Within the confines of this jet, the soft hum acts like white noise and keeps the ringing at bay. But when it gets quiet, I go crazy. I always need something to block it. My brother screamed into my ear when I was ten and caused severe damage. He did it as a joke. It's the only thing I fault him for. I loved my brother. He tried to get me to stand up to our parents and to tell them off because of all the shit they were putting me through, blaming me for all their problems, but I wasn't strong enough. The whole family knew about Cameron's sexual addiction and perversity. I knew he had a problem, but I still loved my brother even with all his faults."
"But," Kuzushi said, "you once mentioned your father was the same way. Sexual addiction is a major disorder. There's help for that."
"My father was too proud to ask for help. He doesn't talk about it, but we all know. My mother ignores it. He visits a private island he claims for business, but instead engages in sexual orgies and deviancy with a group of people to satisfy his problem. That's how he controls it. But when Cameron was exposed for the same thing, I became the scapegoat."
Kuzushi nodded. Then he hugged Kiefer closer. "Don't worry about them, they won't hurt you ever again. I promise."
Kuzushi didn't tell Kiefer that he had killed his own parents when they tried to convert him to become straight, but he knew Kiefer wouldn't want harm to come to his parents even though he hated them. Then again, Kiefer wasn't exactly sane. And Ken knew it.
Just then, the toilet flushed ruining the moment. They were not alone on the plane and their guest was feeling air-sick. He stepped out of the facilities and saw them getting close. He felt his stomach. "I don't like flying, I never did," he said. "My irritable bowel syndrome acts up."
"But it's the only way I wish get to the Evangelist's Island, Maverick Hachiko," Kuzushi responded. "You could have chosen a Shinigami portal, but you didn't. It was your choice to make."
Kiefer stood on his feet. "I better get back to the cockpit," he said. "We'll be arriving soon."
Kiefer then left and shut the door behind him.
Kuzushi wasn't happy, watching him leave.
Ken looked back to Hachiko. He, too, had been resurrected—but not by Morph. Inside him resided a Shinigami who helped him control his condition. Doctors diagnosed him with a brain tumour that was very aggressive and it seemingly killed him. But he was later saved by the Shinigami that he had made a contract with, a god of death that went by the name of Yuk Yuk. He was a clownish-looking Shinigami who had the ability to possess humans and gravitate them to obey his every command, which he had, using Hachiko to rape several woman.
From what Kuzushi was told, Hachiko called on Light Yagami, who was a school friend to help him, believing he had had been possessed by a ghost—controlled by Yuk Yuk. But Yagami ended up writing his name in a Death Note killing Hachiko with a heart attacking stopping the cancer from spreading. Kuzushi wondered if Yagami spared his friend's from the pain and anguish of the cancer in a merciful death?
It was a curious thought. A caring Kira?
Yuk Yuk then resurrected Hachiko on the brink of death, restoring his life and eliminating the cancer. However, Yuk Yuk now resided inside Hachiko forever because the time lapsed whereas he had to leave his body or risk being trapped. It was a detriment of Yuk Yuk's power. But Hachiko had complete control over his consciousness, while Yuk-Yuk was an observer.
"Oh, my stomach," Hachiko moaned, "no more apples for me."
"All Shinigami love apples," Kuzushi said. "Ironically, apples give Yuk Yuk stomach problems. Combine that with your air-sickness, it's an abhorrent issue. You should have taken something for it before we took off. You only have yourself to blame."
Hachiko heaved over and then vomited onto the floor.
Kuzushi quickly lifted his legs onto the chair. "That's disgusting! Kiefer it going to have a fit when he sees this!"
Hachiko wiped his mouth. He looked like he was about to vomit again, but didn't. "I'm sorry," he said. "I'll clean it up. I took some medication a little while ago, hopefully it kicks in soon. I just need to get my feet on solid ground."
"We're almost to the island. Bit late to take those meds now, don't you think? Tell me something, maybe it will take your mind off your stomach issues—Yuk Yuk seemed done with you? But he chose to possess you and heal you. He paid the price and is now trapped in you. Why?"
Hachiko sat down and sighed. He closed his eyes as if to concentrate. "Yes, you would think so. But he told me he did so because he needed to hide from the Shinigami King. As long as we had a standing contract, we were bonded. However, as you know, he stayed in me for too long. He has stayed dominant and allowed me full control over my cumulative functions, but he could take me over at any time, like that time you and I…"
"Having feelings and experiencing sensations are two different things, Hachiko," Kuzushi answered. "Yuk Yuk was out hunting for victims to satisfy a sexual lust and he used your body to rape those woman from what you told me. When we had sex—of course I was still crossdressing at the time and you were suffering from PSAD due to your double inguinal hernia surgery—I think the Shinigami didn't know what to think of me. But his sexual addition overwhelmed him when I teased him. It was unlike anything he knew. But it still felt good. The Ancient Greeks and Romans knew what felt good and they didn't let gender or religion get in the way of enjoying life. As it should be now. I believe Yuk Yuk saved you from death because he wanted to repent for ruining your life. And he's remained docile because he feels safe inside you."
"I have Yuk Yuk's Death Note, but I haven't written any names down since my rebirth. What about you?"
"Merely writing down names is useless, you have to be calculative in choosing who is to die and how it benefits you," he said. "Rage and I are bonded and I have his Death Note on me. I always have it on me. I even used it on one of the airport technicians just before boarding the plane. I have the Shinigami Eyes, so I knew the guy's name. I had him pour gasoline inside the HUMVEE I drove away from Draycott's cabin hideaway, setting it ablaze to burn all evidence I ever used it, discarding all the weaponry, as well. But then he died after he set himself on fire. It fed to narrative of him having a mental illness. You need to be strategic in using the Death Note, not in a haphazard way like Kira."
"When you told me Light Yagami was Kira I couldn't believe it. I was totally shocked. He was a nice guy in middle school. We both were part of the same book club and we used to spend hours discussing the philosophical discourse of classical writers."
"Life throws you some curveballs like that. Get used to it. Worrying about the future will only give you grey hairs. When I told Kiefer about the Death Note, he was shocked but quickly accepted it. He almost had a heart attack when he first saw Rage." Kuzushi chuckled. "But then he realized the potential of the notebook and immediately wanted me to write down Light Yagami's name. I already tried. And a little red x appeared at the end of his name. Rage told me that meant he was protected and Light could not die by the Death Note. Then I found out it was Morph who was protecting him. That irked me. But he was doing so because he didn't want someone foolish, like me, to ruin his fun. He said he had plans for Light Yagami and didn't want him to die just yet. Morph is a busy little bee."
Hachiko scratched an index finger along his right cheek nervously, and said, "Um, so…I'm just curious. How was I? I don't remember much. Yuk Yuk was in complete control of me."
"How were you? What do you mean?" Then realization hit Kuzushi and he laughed. "Oh, you came along. You were resistant at first, but you loosened up quickly. It was a happy ending—for you. But Light Yagami is the only one who can truly satisfy me."
To be continued...
