You know what I hate the most, my brother EarthDragonArnighte calling me retarded. He does it to me every chance he gets because to him, everything I do or like is stupid and is what he calls retarded. He doesn't even know the true meaning of the word and no matter how many times he's told to stop, he keeps calling me retarded and it really hurts me. I hate it more than all the gun violence and all the crap Russia is doing in the Ukraine combined.
I am not mentally challenged or as he likes to call it 'being slow'. I'm not like the actual people who have to live with that disability and are actually bullied because of it, nor do I approve of bullying anyone with that disability, it's not right at all.
Anyway, onto the good news. It's time for another chapter of Remnant Unleashed and this one will be a real change to the canon. Kind of surprised I only got three reviews last chapter, but it is what it is. I hope I don't have people abandoning my story for something else. I am still working on my future Bad Batch story and Star Wars: Hyper Lethal Vector.
I did get the new Modern Warfare 2 but haven't started it yet. Probably will soon.
Anyway, onto the reviews.
Monster King: Thanks. You always seem to be the first one to leave a review the moment I post a new chapter. I hope you really mean that it's awesome.
Luffy L Deathwalker: You've given me an idea for the finally of Volume 7. Fun fact, I actually was considering Wrecker being the one to kill Watts with snapping his neck.
Jack Smith1: Smaller and harder to hit? If that were the case then how come Axe, Slammer and Tucker died on Ryloth? I get that you like the fighter, but a fighter without shielding is little more than a coffin for the pilots, even if they have mastered the craft. As for it appearing, it might appear though but with upgrades.
BlindFaunusGirl: Glad you liked Bella, I'll try to bring her in again, somehow. You're right about Ironwood. Glad you liked the conversation about the aircraft, the party, magic show, and action. I'm glad you like this story and I haven't forgotten about my Bad Batch/RWBY story.
Silverfox3456: Hope you had a great Halloween as well.
No songs this chapter. Onto the intro.
(Start Rise, Tv version by Madkid)
(The camera moves fast over the frozen tundra of Solitas before it shots up to the floating city of Atlas and the city of Mantle below it. As fighter jets fly past, the title card is revealed with two lightsaber blades surrounding it.)
Remnant Unleashed
In this empty void, I found the way to light. Can't find my way in this lingering world. Searching fo the answer- the one that I can trust in. I'm just wandering around.
(The title card vanishes as a shot of Ironwood addressing his followers is shown, standing in full military gear. Among them is Galen and his team, Jaune, Nora, Ren, Lop, Faye, Kara and Zett, the students wearing new combat clothing. Behind them in the corner with their helmets off are Rex and his brothers who eye the general with suspicion.)
Yeah, still stuck in the shadow ey, But I never follow that. This pain at last soon will pass. Turn into my own unbeatable strength. This guy or that guy -dead or alive by hiding alone, can't survive. I don't want to lie to myself.
(Behind Ironwood are his Ace Ops and Winter who then dissipate into mist before being replaced by Jacque who has a devious grin on his face, while Whitley and Serra stand behind him looking at each other with worry. The scene then changes to Mantle where Boba, Robyn, Ahsoka, the Fox, Maria, Grogu, Pietro, Penny, Artoria and the Happy Huntresses look up towards Atlas, Robyn crossing her arms before looking at a picture of her, Ray, Neo, and Amber.)
Keep on the fight, get right I'll never lose and cry. Keep run up day and night. Time to rewrite. No matter what anyone say's I find my way. Never go away.
(The Grimm charge towards from the tundra as Galen, Ruby, Jaune and their teams ready for their weapons for battle only for Ruby, Jaune and their teammates to vanish into mist while soldiers appear behind Galen and his team aiming their weapons at them. Galen's eyes are shown and then narrow as he ignites his lightsabers.)
Now, nobody can stop me no way. I will make sure not to forget those precious things. Yeah, I'll take a stand, get back all that I've lost. Rise suddenly in this word. (I don't look back yeah.)
(Galen and his team then charge in, now fighting a top a speeding train in the tundra against the Ace Ops while droids attack both groups. Galen slashes a droid and counters an attack from Harriet, Rose dodges Elm's massive hammer, Arthur clashes blades with his cousin, March trades fists with Marrow who looks unsure of his choices as Vine's giant hands try to swat away two human shaped machines flying alongside the train, with Clover trading blows Rex at the front of the train.)
This repetition will repeat 'till the end. And the regret that's still lingering in my head. Time to get it all back, now turn over. Rise suddenly in this world.
(The scene changes once again as Teams RWBY, JNR, Domino Squad, the Bad Batch, Fordo, Alpha, Cody, Waxer, Boil, Kara, Faye, and Able fight against the Grimm which then change into Imperial troopers as the shadows of Vader, Palpatine, Barriss, Jacque, Watts, Maul, Salem, Emerald, Mercury, and a mysterious robotic figure loom over them. Ruby's face turns to fear before her eyes shine and a silver light engulfs the screen before the title card returns.)
(Song ends)
Disclaimers are the same as always.
Chapter 106: A Night Off
Ironwood was livid.
First, he had to contend with the Fox and his attacks on his efforts to protect the Kingdom from Salem, the mysterious vigilante claiming that his actions would only bring about the destruction of Atlas and Mantle.
Second, someone was murdering people in Mantle. No, murder wasn't the correct word, butchered was the correct word since the victims were found skinned alive and sometimes ripped to shreds. Many of the kingdom were blaming the new machines that had been seen out in the tundra lately, including newer hovering robots with buzzsaws that could turn a person into a mist of flesh and bone.
Third, his new drone fighters were recently hacked and used against Sicario, almost killing the one advantage they had against Salem. If he lost Ruby, then they wouldn't have an effect weapon to use against Salem and could eliminate her with a single blow.
Forth, the White Fang had made a come back and had managed to infiltrate Atlas, attacking a party being hosted by Jacque Schnee of all people, who had now used the attack as part of his campaign, claiming that Ironwood left Atlas defenseless against the likes of the White Fang and cared nothing for the lives of the people.
Finally, there was Galen. The Jedi and leader of Team GARM was constantly calling him out on his actions. Everything he was doing was for the sake of Atlas, but all that Galen saw was a man who was willing to sacrifice innocent lives and even his own men to protect his kingdom, something that he was prepared to take full responsibility for when the threat had passed. Yet it was Galen who brought the Empire to Remnant, which decimated his military at Vale.
There was also the matter of Jacque's own private security forces taking the law into their own hands, destroying the Dust that was already refined and ready for selling and all the other activities they had been conducting as a means to make it look like that there was a shortage of Dust. For the moment, he couldn't do anything against Jacque or else he would risk bringing the Grimm in closer to the kingdom then they already were, not to mention the new machines out in the tundra or risk hindering the production of more Dust.
All of this happened over the course of several weeks, but thankfully the tower was still a closely kept secret. His eyes then turned to the current news broadcast. "Although rioting in Mantle is finally under control, how does it feel to know that the majority involved were your supporters?" a reporter from the Mantle Daily asked Robyn Hill, who was standing beside Trigger and Neo in a building somewhere in Mantle.
"First off, the one's who were rioting are not my supporters. My supporters know that rioting will only result in bringing in more Grimm close to city and threaten our people. I don't condone rioting, especially when our city is being denied aid for the hardships we've already been through, but Jacques Schnee's latest stunt us holding the city hostage for his own political gain. So, I understand their anger, but ask that they show it not on the streets but at the polls today." Robyn said.
Ironwood turned off the tv, returning back to his desk where a stack of paperwork waited for him, part of the job of being a headmaster and a general at once.
Down in Mantle, the interview had come to an end and Robyn let out a sigh of relief. "I tell you kids; it's not easy trying keep everything I know a secret. Ironwood's tower, the name of the killer, Salem and what not. Makes me wonder if I'm really cut out for being on the council."
"You'd make a better councilor that Jacques would. He cares about only money and has never had to fight for anything in his life. You on the other hand, you've fought for what you believe in and care for the people. You weren't born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you're Robyn Hill. Leader of the Happy Huntresses, the pilot they call Talisman and more importantly, my last living family member." Ray said, his face bruised from the fight with the droids last week.
"Glad you mean that, kid." Robyn told her nephew, holding her side a bit.
"Just make sure you're well enough for the victory party tonight. We'll be there in case some bastard tries something. Besides, if that killer plans on showing up tonight, we'll keep you covered, same thing goes for Galen and the others showing up tonight." Neo reminded.
Robyn smiled, but at the same time she couldn't help but worry about what could go wrong or if Jacques had any tricks planned to win the election.
At the same time, in one of the training rooms of Atlas Academy, Blake used her semblance and jumped from pillar to pillar with Yang following behind her trying to catch up.
Below them, Winter sent her Beowolf summon to attack Weiss who created black glyphs above, below, right, and left of her sisters summon, using the glyphs to throw the summon around and slammed it against the glyphs, followed by a white glyph she created in front of her, using it send the summon back at her sister who created her white glyph to stop it.
Winter winced in pain and dropped to one knee, discovering her sister had created a smaller version of her Arma Gigas, which had snuck up on her and cut her ankle with its sword. The small summon struck a pose with its sword on its shoulder, which caused Winter to glare at her younger sister who gave a smug smirk in return, with a giggle.
Behind Weiss, Jaune raised his lightsaber and parried several strikes from Zett while Nora kept on hitting a rubber ball towards Lop with her hammer. The orange-haired hammer wielder soon activated her hammers upgrade, charging herself with electricity before swinging her massive hammer around and sent the ball flying towards Lop who blocked it, sliding back several feet before she dropped to one knee. The ball wasn't so lucky as it was sliced in half by her lightsaber.
Nearby, Oscar used his Scroll to keep track of Lops aura which had been reduced to about sixty-five percent. The Lepi Jedi sat up and took a deep breath, her aura glowing for a moment while Oscar watched as her aura increased to ninety-five percent. "Nice, your recovery is getting faster." Oscar praised, only to have Nora give the Lepi a heavy pat on the back, while her semblance was still active and knocked it down to sixty-four percent.
Arthur and his cousins raised their blades as Rex, Fordo and Cody fired their blasters at them, blocking each shot sent towards them. Their blasters were set to stun, so as to not kill the last of the Penwolf family, trying to simulate an actual battle as best as possible. All three of them blocked the shots sent towards them while nearby, Rose and March took aim at several targets and fired off several rounds from their weapons.
Using the pillars as cover, the two moved up as they downed target after target, like they were in actual firefight. Rose used her rifle to cover March who moved up and fired his pistols at the closest targets, ducking down to reload before he fired again, covering Rose as she moved up.
Faye and Kara sparred with each other. Green met yellow as the two practiced their lightsaber skills, matching each other move for move while Ruby zoomed past them with her semblance, heading straight towards a meditating Ren and Galen in front of another pillar. The young silver eyed girl soon split into three red blurs, which went around the two meditating boys and the pillar before they merged into one blur, then became Ruby once more.
"Have you always been able to do that?" Oscar asked.
"I don't know. I don't normally think it through that much." Ruby panted.
"You guys are evolving, and I still don't have my semblance." Oscar pointed out. "Don't think Ozpin's semblance would be considered mine."
"Well, I bet we'll all be jealous when you do." Ruby pointed out.
Ren continued to meditate, in a deep state where he had completely blocked out everyone around him, before a ringing sound was heard, followed by the training room door opened, which Ren noticed when he opened his eyes.
"Clover wasn't kidding. You're really giving this your all." Ironwood said as he and said Ace Operative walked into the room.
"Well, we have to with the way things are going." Ruby said, as the general took out his scroll and projected a screen depicting the live election results. Robyn was in the lead with seventy percent while Jacque was at thirty percent.
"Better Robyn than Jacque Schnee." Yang said, resting her arm on Oscar's shoulder which took him by surprise.
"Oh, I suppose so. Either way, this election doesn't bode well for our stability." Ironwood said worriedly.
"It could be a chance to work with Robyn and get Mantle on your side." Ruby reminded the General. She already knew that Robyn was made aware of the tower, Salem, and everything else that Ironwood was doing thanks to Galen but decided to keep it quiet.
"The likely hood of that working…." Ironwood began, putting his scroll away at the same time.
"She's right, you have to do something about Mantle. If you could get Robyn to trust you…" Nora interrupted.
"I bet if you opened up to her, she'd understand that someone's trying to frame you." Jaune added.
"Perhaps… but it will only work if she's open too." Ironwood replied with a sigh.
"Robyn is a lot like several senators from the days of the Clone Wars. The ones who spoke out for their people and sought to improve their lives, rather than focusing on themselves. Some of them weren't above taking risks and actually going into active warzones. Padme risked her life more times than I can remember, even came close to getting killed. I see a lot of her in Robyn, they're both willing to risk their own lives to do what they believe is right and care about the people they represent." Ahsoka said, having watched the teams training session from the side.
"This is different than what some senator did during a far-off war! This is a matter about Atlas." Ironwood exclaimed, almost snapping at the kids.
Nora was about to say something, but Ren stepped forward and interrupted her, earning a look from her and Jaune. "I take it you're here for new mission assignments?" Ren asked.
"You could say that. The General and I want you to take the rest of the day to recuperate." Clover said, noticing that Galen hadn't moved from his meditation.
"You're giving us a night off?" Blake asked in surprise.
"Ordering it. After tonight's election, we'll be waking up to a very different Atlas tomorrow. I need you rested and ready for whatever that may bring." Ironwood clarified, not noticing the look of uncertainty on Ruby's face.
Everyone soon left the training room, except for Galen who only just opened his eyes, but heard everything. As he got up, he noticed that Clover was still present in the training room. "Ok, spill it kid. You don't think the General's methods are right, don't you?" he asked.
"Telling the councilors about Salem and the Empire was the first step. But keeping Ruby locked away in Atlas, fearing that Salem will abduct her or kill her if she's out and about, that's going to have a negative impact on his plans, but he's afraid that Robyn will overstep her bounds as a councilwoman and interfere with his plans." Galen said.
"Robyn already assured me that she only wants what's best for Mantle. She's not interested in improving the conditions of Atlas which has more wealth than it needs." Clover pointed out. "Not one of her Huntresses or herself has been seen anywhere near the tower. It's like someone told her about it. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that would you?" he asked.
"What makes you think that I would know anything about that?" Galen asked.
"I heard from the pilot of the Bullhead that you asked one of Robyn's supporters to set up a meeting with her shortly after you were 'arrested'." Clover answered. "You told her, didn't you? About Salem and the tower."
Galen glared at Clover; his hands ready to draw his lightsabers. "Relax, I'm going to inform Ironwood. In fact, I'm not even upset. It's quite the opposite." Clover assured.
"You knew all along, didn't you? You knew I told Robyn about everything and you're actually glad I told her? I thought the Ace Ops answer directly to Ironwood?" Galen asked, surprised.
"We do. But somethings aren't worth reporting." Clover replied. "Look, I get you don't trust the General and Harriet hasn't exactly done anything to make you trust her, but I trust you completely. You did what you thought was right and that's something I've done myself a few times in the past." Clover answered.
"So, you're not going to tell Ironwood?" Galen asked again.
"It didn't happen on my watch and it's not my concern." Clover answered, waving to Galen as he left the training room, followed closely by Galen who headed for the dorm rooms.
Hours later, the sun was starting to set as Team RWBY sat in their dorm room. Blake sat at one of the small desks with a mirror, her face red as she read a very intimate part of one of the 'Ninja's of Love' books she likes, Ruby and Yang laid down on the beds while Weiss played a live report on her Scroll from the Daily Mantle. "We still have hours ahead of us, but as votes come in, it looks more and more certain that Robyn Hill will fill the open council seat." The newscaster said.
Weiss then closed her Scroll as the members of Team GARM, Kara, Zett, Lop and Faye walked in. "There's no way my father could have thought the layoffs or deliberate destruction of the manufactured Dust would do anything but hurt him. So why announce this decision weeks before the election?" she asked.
"Just seems like a power play that backfired to me. Won't matter in a few hours though." Yang shrugged, standing up from the bed, stretched and walked over to Blake who quickly closed her book before anyone saw what she was reading.
"All he's done is just create chaos in Mantle. Riots, his own security forces making arrests and killing any squatters in the sewers to hide the destruction of Dust. He's not making any allies." Blake pointed out, putting her book down.
"And yet there are still people who voted for him." Kara reminded. "I bet if he did become a member of the council, he would use his authority to force me to work for him and build weapons that he would pass off as his own."
"That's the kind of person my father is. He'll force his competition to go out of business by any means necessary. He ran Flynt's father out of business and that's only one 'competitor'. He's tried to patent the rifle/sword function of Excalibur as his own, it would be reason to believe that he would do the same with the weapon designs that Kara and her father created and if he found out about Kara's powers, he would exploit them." Weiss added.
"I don't think we got anything to worry about. Robyn's in the lead and I don't think anyone else would vote for that bastard who would offer his own children to the White Fang to save his own ass." Rose reminded.
"Either way, we should be ready for anything." Galen said firmly.
"So, what's everyone's doing tonight?" Ruby asked.
"Team FNKI invited us out dancing. Yang and Rose thought it would be a good idea to get our minds off the election." Blake said, pulling her mask over her head. "I'm going back to the White Fang hideout in Mantle with the Coruscant Guard soldiers. My time in the White Fang has always taught me that if they failed once, they wouldn't give up so easily when targeting the Schnee Family."
"I thought you said Team FNKI was annoying." Ruby asked her sister.
"That's the best part about dance clubs." She said then whispered while pointing to her ears. "I can't hear you."
"Ruby, Galen, come on!" Nora said as she and Ren walked into the room.
"I still can't believe you're going to that thing." Weiss said with dismay.
"Just because Ironwood dislikes Robyn doesn't mean we all have to. From where I'm standing both of them seem to be trying their best to help Atlas. As to who's doing a better job… I'd have to say it's Robyn. She did calm the people down after your dad shutdown the company." Nora pointed out.
"But a victory party?" Weiss asked again while Ruby walked past Weiss, shrugging before stopping next to Nora.
"Invite's still open if you want in. Penny's gonna be working security, same with Trigger and Neo. Plus, we'll get to see Grogu again and it's been a long time since we saw the little guy." Ruby offered.
"Tempting, but no. Besides, I already made plans with Arthur and no Yang, it doesn't involve me going to the lingerie store." Weiss answered and keeping Yang from making any jokes.
Yang slumped in defeat as she failed to make a pun before everyone else left the dorm room and the academy, save for March who had a call with his sister scheduled for tonight.
Later that evening, after the sun had finally set, Ruby, Ren, Nora, Kara, Faye, and Galen walked through Mantle on their way to Robyn's victory party. A truck drove down the street, honking its horn while standing in the bed were people holding signs which showed their support for Robyn getting on the council. "I understand Weiss's point though. A victory party does seem a bit premature." Ruby said to Galen.
"I agree. There's still a chance that things could change, or Jacques could try and pull something to win." Galen agreed.
"Aw, let them have one sure thing." Nora shrugged.
"Probably the last sure thing before Amity Tower goes up and everyone learns about… what we're fighting." Ruby added.
"Assuming that Ironwood actually plans on keeping his promise." Galen muttered. As they walked through, he spotted the election results and noticed that Jacques now had thirty-three percent of the votes while Robyn still had a lead of about sixty-seven percent, which bothered Galen greatly as they walked past two people sitting beside a heating element and trying to keep warm.
They continued to walk through Mantle until they made it to where Robyn's victory part was being held, a small auditorium. Wires had been taped up along the walls, with Robyn's campaign posters decorating the walls. Above the stage, a giant hologram showed the results which now showed that Jacques was now at thirty-six percent while Robyn had sixty-four percent of the votes. Camera drones float around the room, one of which had a kick me sign taped on it's back while the second had a gift ribbon stuck to it. Just as the six of them entered the building, the vote percentage shifted to thirty-seven percent for Jacques while Robyn now had sixty-three percent.
Penny spotted her friends and made her way through the crowd, confirming that it was only her, Marrow and the two Garuda pilots pulling security detail, along with Onyx who had Grogu by his side. After Penny had greeted her friends, she returned to where Marrow was standing, leaving the group alone. "Looks like a lot of people have showed up to give their support for Robyn." Kara noted.
"It shows just how much the people of Mantle support her and her cause. Her goal is for the betterment of Mantle, the city that was the center of the kingdom before the main city was lifted into the air by gravity Dust. Those who live up there now have forgotten their kingdoms past and where they began from, living the life of luxury and wealth while the people in Mantle suffer and get by on the scraps they toss down from above." Faye told her padawan.
"I know, it's just that my Dad…" she began.
"Was someone who would support my goals even if he's from another kingdom." Robyn said, walking towards the group. "When you got a friend like Zhima Lah in Anima who makes the best weapons around, it pays to have connections, especially if your weapon isn't working properly."
"Isn't this a little premature? You haven't even won the election yet and there's still no guarantee that you'll win." Faye said.
"True, but with the recent killings going around, I want to give the folks a chance to unwind and relax. They can watch the election from here while the polls show exactly who's going to win, without any intervention by those who want to rig the election." Robyn answered. "Besides, I got my nephew and niece here." She assured as she guided the group backstage, where Marrow and Penny were already waiting for them.
"Didn't think you guys would be here." Marrow said, noticing that Ruby was now holding her throbbing hand in pain, after exchanging a fist bump with Penny. "Yeah, real cute. Look, please try not to be too much of a distraction. We need to be vigilante in case someone tries to start trouble." Marrow told them, as May approached them.
"Oh, funny, that's why we're here. So, feel free to take a hike." She said to Marrow and Penny. She, like the rest of her leader's team had great respect for Galen, Ruby, Ren and their friends after what happened in the sewers.
"Listen, the General's trying to help, all right? Just 'cause you can't understand—" Marrow said in Ironwood's defense when Robyn walked over.
"Tell Ironwood we appreciate the extra security, but if you even think of trying to rig the election in favor of Jacques, I will personally make you regret it." she told the Dog Faunus.
"Never going to happen, because Ironwood doesn't play favorites." Marrow said, again in defense of the General. "Besides, we're only concerned about security risks, ma'am. The General doesn't want any surprises tonight."
"Just make sure to stay out of the way." Robyn warned, getting a smirk from May while Joanna stood beside her before standing near her two huntresses. "If I get elected tonight, we'll all have to learn how to get along." She added.
"Sure, we won't have any problems, as long as you stay within the law." Marrow reminded the huntresses.
"Trust me, I', well aware. My only goal is that all the citizens of Mantle and Atlas—and Faunus—have an equal shot at a good life. And before you ask if I plan on doing all of that legally, let me remind you 'Wags' that everything I've done is legal. I don't want my only remaining family to see me as a criminal." She said, casting a glance at Ray and Neo who were in full armor.
A loud feed back caused the crowd a great displeasure, due to Fiona taping the microphone. The election results now showed that Robyn's vote percentage was at fifty-seven percent as crowd soon started to chant 'Robyn' which was the sign for Marrow and Penny to resume their security jobs.
As Ruby, Galen, Kara, and Faye walked into the crowd, the election results changed again. Now, Robyn was in the lead with fifty-nine percent of the votes while Jacques had a forty-one percentage of votes, before it then changed to forty-three percent for Jacques. "If Jacques wins this election, it will make our job a lot more difficult. He'll do everything he can to discredit Ironwood and prevent the tower from being completed, he might even use force to take his mine back." Kara pointed out.
"If Jacques Schnee is the man you claim to be from the meetings he had with your father, then your concern has merit. But for now, clear your mind and sense for anything out of the ordinary." Faye told her apprentice.
Kara nodded her head and closed her eyes, listening to the crowd through the Force as Fiona walked onto the stage. "I want to thank everyone for going to the polls today. This is Mantle's moment. I know that, like me, you're all thrilled that we chose Robyn as our voice in Atlas. No one has fought harder for Mantle than she has. And…" she began, before she covered her mouth, trying not to cry before she wiped a tear from her eye with her palm. "… I know Robyn will continue that fight on the Council. Will you share a few words?" she finished, turning to Robyn who was off stage.
The crowd soon began to chant Robyn's name as said politician walked onto the stage, causing the crowd to cheer as she took the microphone from Fiona who excitedly talked to her for a few moments before she walked off stage. "I've never been much for public speaking, probably wasn't my best idea ever to go into politics." She began. By now, the polls showed Jacques had forty-five percent of the votes while Robyn had fifty-five percent of the votes.
"Thank you so much, everyone for choosing me. You said you believe in me. But I'm the one who believes in all of you. You've proven to me that as individuals, we are strong. But together, we're unstoppable." She continued.
The results shifted again as Robyn continued to speak. "Not many of you may know this, but when Beacon fell, my Huntresses and I went to aid the Kingdom of Vale, flying and fighting the Grimm, White Fang, and their new allies. I did that out of concern for my family, one of whom is no longer among us today, but will always live on in my heart. And when I look at all of you, I see I have a larger family here in Mantle. So, no matter what happens tonight, win, or lose, we will continue the fight for our city, for our family, because it is this city and this family that brings us together." She finished.
The crowd cheered as upbeat music began to play. The final minutes of the election were beginning, but the results had changed again, with Jacques now at forty-seven percent while Robyn held the lead at fifty-three percent.
For the moment, it seemed like it was going to be a close race, but in another building in a room filled with Schnee Dust Company crates, Watts was watching the live drone feed of the party projected on his Scroll while another drone's feed showed a recorded video of Galen fighting Sabyrs in the streets of Mantle. The numbers for the election results were soon erased as Watt's tapped the screens of the Scrolls laid out in front of them and the screens lit up as he adjusted one of his rings before all eight of them lit up. "You ready, Tyrian?"
From within the crowd that had gathered for Robyn's party, a cloaked Tyrian was ready to create some mayhem. As the crowd continued to countdown the final seconds of the election, Ruby noticed Tyrian's tail slither out from the crowd as he began to walk into the crowd. "Tyrian's alive!" she exclaimed and drew her lightsaber, as did Galen, Faye, and Kara just as the power went out, causing the crowd to murmur in confusion.
Tyrian then made his move, swiftly moving through the crowd, kicking people out from underneath their legs while four blood red lightsabers were ignited, slashing at the crowd as he continued his rampage, mimicking the moves that Galen had done in the past.
"Damn it!" Galen cursed, leaping into the path of Tyrian's rampage, blocking the four blades with his two blue blades saving one of the party goers from death. "What does it take to kill you!" he snarled.
Even though the lights were out, Tyrian removed the cloak hiding his body and revealed that he had become the newer more sadistic version of General Grievous, who might as well had been completely reborn. His new body looked exactly like Grievous, only with the Scorpion tail on his rear. "Looks like someone didn't get the memo, I've been reborn." Tyrian said sadistically, using one of his feet to throw Galen onto the stage before the mad Faunus/Cyborg continued to cut through the guests, meeting little resistance even from Penny whose swords had been destroyed by his blades. All the while, Watts was creating doctored footage and fixed the election after placing an anonymous call to Jacques private security forces.
Tyrian made his way to the stage and slashed at Fiona, wounding her as he made his way towards Robyn. Onyx saw this and lunged at Tyrian, but the mad killer grabbed the dog with his legs and flung the dog into the crowd, causing it to yelp in pain. That yelp made Neo move to check the dog while Ray grabbed two of Tyrian's wrists, stopping him from going after his aunt just as Galen rushed onto the scene. Tyrian soon broke off his attack and made his escape, pushing his way past Faye and Kara, the last of whom he realized was the new Fall Maiden.
The lights soon came back on, momentarily blinding Robyn before her eyes adjusted, seeing Galen pull her up to her feet, while dozens of bloodied citizens laid on the floor as the rest of the crowd stood back from the massacre, crying, and yelling hysterically. Ruby and Kara looked in horror while Neo tended to Onyx, along with Grogu who managed to escape from Onyx's bag.
Things took a turn for the worse when the giant screen behind them displayed a photograph of Jacques, with the word 'VICTORY' below it. "And the winner of the Atlas Council election… is Jacques Schnee!" the newscaster announced before a live feed from the front of the Schnee mansion replaced the photo.
"Oho, thank you, everyone, thank you. It's all because of you. It's a new day in Atlas. We've won, we did it! And as the newest member of the Council, I pledge to serve each and every one of you." Jacque said to the reporter.
The sound of screeching tires from outside was heard as SDC soldiers burst into the auditorium, firing their weapons at the civilians still standing. One of the soldiers spotted Galen and fired at him, having seen the doctored footage that Watt's had just uploaded to everyone's scrolls in Atlas and Mantle. The civilians ran for safety while Galen, Faye, and Kara covered their retreat, blocking and disarming the SDC soldiers, but they couldn't save everyone. One soldier threw a grenade towards Robyn, but Galen spotted it and threw it back at the soldiers. "Focus your fire on the Demon Lord! He's the priority target! Take out that murderer!" the leader shouted.
"Ruby! Take the others and run! GO! NOW! I'll be right behind you guys!" Galen shouted to Ruby who was helping Fiona to her feet. The others made their way out of the auditorium's back door as more soldiers poured into the auditorium.
Gunfire echoed from inside the auditorium as Robyn, her huntresses, nephew, adoptive niece, Ruby, Ren, Nora, Kara, Faye, Marrow, and the survivors escaped. "It wasn't us; I swear it wasn't…" Marrow pled to Robyn.
"I know it wasn't you! I saw those blade colors; it wasn't you or Ironwood. Whoever did this framed Galen for murder and now they handed Jacques the election." Robyn clarified as just as Johanna checked her scroll and confirmed what Robyn had just said. A news report had already received the doctored footage and all-points bulletin had been issued for Galen's arrest.
The alarm sounded, indicating the Grimm had been drawn to the city by the recent actions. "Go, you all have a long night ahead of you. I'll calm the people down and keep them from rioting. Trust me, I won't be taking the law into my own hands." Robyn assured as Ironwood's 'stooges' headed out to do their job, leaving Robyn and her group alone. "We got our own work to do." She said, leaving the scene a few moments later, while Grogu looked back at the auditorium.
Big change from canon right here. Galen is the one framed for murder instead of Penny, all done by Watt's and Tyrian as a favor for Jacques. Trust me, Galen won't be alone on his run from the law for a crime he didn't commit.
You'll all just have to wait and see what happens next. Until then, please read and review.
