Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling What if ...
I do not own the story Please feel at Ease Mr. Ling. I am only writing for entertainment purposes. This is truly fiction.
Beware of Spoilers for at least episode 7-8.
Although I love this story and Ling Yue I have thought too much about if I would forgive him or at least so easily. What if Anxin found out about his secret earlier on? How would it change the dynamic?
This is my what if story...
Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling Chapter 8
Anxin continued walking until her path is blocked. Du Ming stands in front of her wearing a gray hoodie paired with jeans and sneakers. More casual than what he usually wore. "Mr. Du?" Anxin says nervously. He nods and turns and he asks her quietly. "Can you talk? It won't take long." She hesitates and looks nervous which her notices. He glances and juts his chin in the direction of some benches nearby. Anxin nods then wishes she could take it back but too unsure of how. She has seen him explode before. She does not wish for it to happen again. Hopefully with other people around he will be okay. Maybe at times she really was too nice...They walk to the benches in silence.
Anxin keeps a healthy distance even so. The sun is starting to set and it will not be long before dark. She hopes to keep a lead on Ling Yue but perhaps she could make do without things and Youyou could lend her some? She could always come back with her to get more if needed... They sit down both still quiet. Du Ming it seems needs a moment to find his words. He starts off awkwardly about when Anxin first started working at the job. She keeps her eyes averted and her reply short as to not encourage him in any way. Mr. Ming then starts in on his apology about how he feels sorry for his behavior and he's a jerk when he drinks too much. This does cause her to look over. Anxin takes this in a moment but not long. He had scared her terribly. She had tried to tell Du Ming honestly yet not unkindly that she did not feel the same way but he had not stopped, even chasing her into the room. If that had been all he had done Anxin would be nervous but perhaps could have overcome it as he had been drinking too much. Anxin would never forget the terror of her worst fear of being in the dark used against her. But... she replies "Let bygones be bygones. I don't believe you meant to do it."
From the mess with her family to what happened to Yu Guo she knows about regret. "I've made mistakes before and been desperate to make them right." Anxin doesn't like feuds and wants things settled. She wasn't planning on staying long but he did look sorry. She honestly still very much wanted this conversation over with but mostly it was true. Anxin would not hold it against Du Ming and hope he would learn from his past wrongs as she was trying too. She would not forget or likely let her guard down around him, but she would try to not think ill of him and move on.
Anxin hoped it would end there but it didn't. "You understand me , so why were you trying to hurt me?" Anxin doesn't follow and expresses her confusion. His expression changes to almost sarcastic as he tells her she may look innocent but you don't fool me. It quickly moves to anger when she still doesn't know what he is talking about. It doesn't help when Anxin says that it must be a misunderstanding and stands up intending to leave. Du Ming jumps up and yells at her that she is the reason he got fired. She hopes he can be reasoned with by telling him she couldn't do that but he is beyond it.
Anxin's fear jumps up as Du Ming is shaking her shoulders and getting in her face. She can't help but tremble as she tries to step back but he won't let up. Soon she tries her last tactic. "If you keep doing this I will call someone." Anxin threatens somehow keeping her voice strong hoping it will help him back off. It doesn't work. Du Ming dares her to do it keeping a firm hold on her. Anxin is so terrified and it's made worse having seen his terrible anger and in that time he is no way rational. His behavior before scared her to death and that was just from being rejected. Now that he thinks I got him fired...
Anxin tries to run but she doesn't get anywhere. She shouldn't have stopped to talk to Du Ming at all let alone for so long or to let him get close to her. He grabs her from behind and instantly a hand is over her mouth so she can only get out muffled sounds. Anxin tries to fight but it is useless. He drags her away covering her face so much she can hardly breathe.
Du Ming brings her to his car. Anxin hates being out of control. She prides herself on making her own living and being independent. Now no matter what she did she was stuck. No one was around. She knew that him getting her into the car was bad. She has heard the warnings that survival odds go down after victims are in the car with their captors but she was so tired. Her fear and shortness of an air supply were really doing a number on her. Anxin could barely keep her eyes open and felt like she was about to pass out again as he opened the door and placed her inside. Her old boss closes the door quickly and hurries to the driver door and gets in.
The next thing Anxin knows Du Ming is gone. It was too fast to see clearly but he appeared to be yanked from the window. Anxin could barely even process that now might be her chance to escape but she didn't think she could move. Also her fear was crippling because she didn't know who had done that. Would they come for her next? Would they be worse than Du Ming?
Thankfully Anxin doesn't have long to wonder. She hears a noise she is trying to decipher when suddenly her car door is opened and it is Ling Yue. She is still comprehending him being there "Anxin, Anxin" he is saying breathlessly seemingly from exertion and asking if she is okay. She starts to think that this perhaps isn't a dream. Anxin can't answer. All she can think what are the odds that this man has saved me not just once but twice, even after I hit him with my scooter?
