Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling What if ...

I do not own the story Please feel at Ease Mr. Ling. I am only writing for entertainment purposes. This is truly fiction.

Although I love this story and Ling Yue I have thought too much about if I would forgive him or at least so easily. What if Anxin found out about his secret earlier on? How would it change the dynamic?

This is my what if story...

Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling Chapter 12

"There was an accident...with a classmate. She was upset that I had gotten a scholarship that she wanted." Anxin stated slowly going back to that haunting day. " She was getting in my face and wouldn't leave me alone and starting pushing. It was near stairs and she fell. I never touched her but still...she never was the same after that. I don't believe they were optimistic for her chances of her being back to her full art technique, so I don't believe she continued with art anymore. She dropped out of school. I can't help but feel guilty still and people started talking which didn't help. It eventually got so bad that the people I thought were my friends were tired of being caught in the middle. They started to distance themselves from me. Whispers were everywhere about that day and what I did to Yu were on my side. Only Youyou." Anxin smiles but barely. The moment pauses which she is grateful as Ling Yue runs into his place to change. Anxin tries to not be intimidated or compare it to her house. It really must have been strange being at her home. Still it isn't overtly showy at least from the outside. As Anxin waits she debates on whether she should continue telling him or not. She was sure she could beg off telling him more.

Anxin decides at whatever happens in the future knowing her more feels fair. Though not in the ways she expected she was seeing glimpses of him when he was Eightie. Ling Yu was right they weren't completely different. He didn't seem malicious, and was trying to help her. While she didn't know if she would become his girlfriend or use his shares she felt that he had proven enough to know more of her story to help him understand her decision when it was made.

Once Ling Yue gets back looking much more fresh in items that aren't the torn clothes from last night he asks her if she would like to continue. Anxin nods. "My adopted family has always been more reserved. More aloof. I tried to do things to please them but it was never quite right. They were never crazy about the fact that I wanted to do art but as I was determined so they didn't fight me on it. They can't stand about their image looking bad. The gossip made it come to a head and we had a blowup fight about my mother's death. She was the one who cared the most about me other than my adopted brother. The others only seemed to tolerate me. They quit paying for my school. The scholarship ran out and I got kicked out." Anxin continued talking as they both work on their drinks on the way to the station.

" Things were a mess and though I tried at first working odd jobs doing what I could. It became too much working and school. So I dropped out. I kept telling myself it was temporary while I got myself back on track instead of feeling my head was in turmoil " She sighs looking up at him. "Has it changed?" He asked cautiously eyeing her while stopping an intersection.. She smiles sadly. "You're the first person to ask me that. I have had moments of peace but still I feel unsettled at times. I got into the routine of life and work, kept up my art as a hobby and haven't left the courier job I landed. I think I needed time to heal from my plans imploding, and then of course I needed to work." she shrugged stretching a second then stirring her bubble tea straw again of her now empty drink.

" I am sorry you had to go through that. Your family is blind for their treatment of you." He looks at her a moment before making a left turn. Anxin thinks about it a moment. " It was rough. I do hate how it interrupted my school. I have gained good experiences at my job. I work hard for what I have and don't rely on other people." "It is impressive." Ling Yue says quietly as he parks the car. Anxin raises her eyebrows at him her expression not having a mask at all. "It is." He insists. "Though I had help, I worked hard to build the company as much as I can. I want to help weather any kinds of bad fortune that could come up."

Anxin thinks a moment. " That is true for me as well. Not only am I supporting myself on a courier salary." She eyes him but this time there is no ill will in her gaze. "But with being independent I do worry about the future. It is hard enough if I get sick and have to miss work but if I were in an accident like you had I would be in ..big trouble." Anxin pauses over the next part before continuing. "And with most parts of my job I have to be active as well especially. I not only have to think about doing well with this month, but saving money in case something happens next month. That is why I have such a stingy view of money of course because I've had too."

Anxin waited for his reply tensely as he nodded and took a sip of his drink. She knew most of this wouldn't be news to him. She knew Ling Yue was quite intelligent and a big part of why she had to be careful with money was because she didn't have much. It has caused bickering when they first met but it took him until perhaps the movie ticket time to truly understand. Anxin remembered when she had first learned about the truth how she had stated how it was unfair to place a financial burden on her when he had all of this money. He hadn't brought up about how he had gotten her house and technology upgrades. She had thought about it but she had mostly dismissed it because she was still angry at him. She had thought that Ling Yue was just buttering her up or appropriate guilt over causing stress to her life. The first she didn't think of much as a factor. Anxin also felt there was more to it than just guilt that perhaps with how they had been raised differently it was his way of caring for her.

Anxin was pleasantly surprised when his next words weren't offering her money. " Thank you for sharing this with me Anxin. You've had to endure a lot. I know jobwise with how you work you will do great at whatever you choose." "It's not just about that. Finding fulfilling work is important if you can find it but..." Anxin started then continued. "The hard part for me is finding the right people to keep in life. The rift with my adopted family taught me that it is important to only keep people close to you who care for you and have your bests interests at heart. From old family friends that didn't stay in touch to my college friends I thought I learned it. Then Du Ming..." She admitted mildly. Anxin caught herself before she added and you and instantly wished she could backtrack her words. It was too close to bringing up what was going on between them. There was an awkward pause.

" While not exactly the same I see where you are coming from. People are hard to predict and often surprise me." Ling Yue started haltingly then ended smiled wanly. "For good and for bad." Anxin thought of him saving Ai Li and her turning out from the looks of it to be one of his most trusted workers on the good side. On the bad side there was his own brother trying to get him into an accident for a higher position at the company. Finally they turned into a parking space for the police station.

Anxin opens her mouth to ask about it when he starts off " Also I hope I am not being forward but I hope you know you can count on me. I'm not asking you to make any decisions but simply letting you know again I am here as long as you will have me." Ling Yue pauses smiling. "And for what it's worth Ai Li likes you if you would be open to another person as well." She smiles relieved there honestly seems to be no pressure. "Thank you Ling Yue. For everything. For now I am afraid it is time for the interview..." Anxin wrings her hands one last time which causes him to take it and squeeze. "You'll do fine. Just tell them what happened. They will understand if you need a break. You can do this." Anxin nods slowly and exits the car. While still unsure as always about this man she was glad Ling Yue ,for now, was beside her.
