Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling What if ...
I do not own the story Please feel at Ease Mr. Ling. I am only writing for entertainment purposes. This is truly fiction.
Although I love this story and Ling Yue I have thought too much about if I would forgive him or at least so easily. What if Anxin found out about his secret earlier on? How would it change the dynamic?
This is my what if story...
Please Feel At Ease Mr. Ling Chapter 14
Anxin waited a few days to text Ling Yue about his watch. She was honestly tired. She mostly vegged out and did some light drawing to take her mind off of things. She was feeling more relaxed now that Du Ming was in custody. Anxin decided she had waited long enough to tell him about his watch. " Ling Yue it seems you are becoming forgetful. You left your watch at my house again." It was only a few minutes later that he responded. " I swear that watch has a mind of it's own. I guess that means I will need to see you again soon."
Anxin smiled and laughed. He wasn't very subtle was he? He obviously did it on purpose. She was tempted to call Ling Yue out on it but decided to go easy on him. She also wasn't sure what she would say if he did admit it intentionally. She decided to go with "Does the President of such a big company need a technology tracker for his watch? They do make those you know. I can get you one for your next payment if you like." He seemed to be waiting on her response because he replied in the next few minutes leading to the following exchange, Anxin not wanting to wait to send responses. " No need. I am out of town for the next few days but can I see you when I get back?" " Yes . I was also hoping you could help me with something." " I will help you with anything. As long as it's legal." She smiled again remembering the times she had wondered if he was some sort of criminal which thankfully wasn't true. " Nothing like that. I hope your trip goes well." "Take care Anxin."
Several days later...
Anxin held the watch while she walked up to the cafe to meet Ling Yue. She had decided to make it a casual meeting in the afternoon. Meeting for dinner felt too serious and while she was glad to get to see him she wasn't wanting him rushing to ideas too quickly. Ling Yue was sitting at the cafe for once in more casual wear with a jacket and jeans instead of his usual suit. He smiled as he saw Anxin and stood up to push her chair in for her. He looked almost disappointed when she handed the watch back to him. It didn't last look and he looked very relieved when Anxin asked him. "How are your injuries? I hope you weren't too sore during your travel." He started tapping his food trying to be discreet with his pent up energy. "It was fine thankfully, it wasn't too far. How have you been these days?" He looked at her curiously and she had to turn away from his scrutiny after it went on too long.
"Well. I took a few days off to rest and it did me a world of good." She smiled and he returned it. "I am glad. You always work so hard." The waitress came and they ordered. After she left Anxin started. "I also have done some thinking. What I am wanting you to help me with was some cover letters for some jobs. I've found some company's nearby I like a lot that I would at least like to get my name out there. I have my art side put together, just with some of the wording I was hoping you might have some ideas." She ventured looking at him. Ling Yue wasted no time. "Of course. I will do my best. I think together we can blend business and art. Did you bring some of the information with you?" She nodded. She had printed out some papers which she pulled out of her bag and had Ling Yue look over. They worked well together. Anxin explaining her reasonings Ling Yue agreeing with most but providing some different formatting and stronger word choices. It was a challenge but she was even able with Ling Yue's help able to highlight her courier services to art as well. " You help everyone from all backgrounds, juggling many different tasks don't you?" She nodded a faint smile on her lips. " Well that is helpful. In interviews you can bring up how you find creativity and inspiration from it as well." She laughed. "That is true. Did I ever tell you about the time..." and they had gone on from there now that the major work was out of the way swapping crazy work stories.
Anxin delighted in telling him how she had interrupted many kissing sessions. "Once the package had happened to be a gift for the wrong girl" Axim whispered conspiratorially. "She threw the gift in his face and never looked back." Anxin laughed at his shocked face."She next told him about the time she was just able to realize and not spoil an older ladies' surprise birthday party for her son by hiding the cake in the oven which was thankfully off. "She still sends me a card on holidays and on my birthday. She never forgets" Anxin smiles. Ling Yue shared about how he'd had to keep a straight face while giving a job interview to a college student who staged a whole song and dance routine to show his "dedication." Anxin winced when he told her the name of the song. "He looked so mortified after we kept it quiet. I've heard from others he turned to more creative pursuits and is doing well without all the theatrics, but we will never forget it." He then shared the story of a highly suspicious case of three company work vehicles tires being slashed right after a problem employee was fired a few months ago. They could never prove it. The rest of the family is on the fence thinking the employee wouldn't dare but his father and Ling Yue had been sure it was him. Though Ling Yue has moved on his father still blames the employee all this time later and grumbles about it. "My father would blame him for every little thing that goes wrong if he could." Ling Yue shakes his head smiling ruefully.
"How is your family?" She asked cautiously. Anxin knew things had been tense with the brothers. "My older brother has been keeping his head down which has helped my younger brother relax some which I am glad to see. His division just got a very nice contract which is helping my dad see him in a new light." He brought up a smile. "You know he has quite the crush on your adopted sister." Anxin's head came up quickly. "Really?" Ling Yue nodded. " He's been sending her flowers. I'm not sure how receptive she is. It seems we Ling brothers have a weakness for you Gu's... of a sort." He smiled crookedly. Anxin threw her napkin at him smiling. "Speaking of ... can we finally discuss it?" Anxin raised her eyes to his in surprise her face changing completely looking nervous yet she nodded. " Yes." She waited for him to begin.
" I was surprised to get that contract the last time with my watch." He admitted. Anxin shifted uncomfortably under his gaze and asked. "What would your answer be?" He smiled briefly. "See for yourself." He took out a piece of paper from his pocket and there it was. The contract she had written signed and sent to him. It was blank on his signature.
" Anxin I admit I took advantage keeping knowledge from you longer then I should have and am sorry for it. Know you don't have to pay me back, but I know you want too. I have been trying to give you space but still to keep me in your mind and heart hoping you choose me freely because you care and we are a good match. Our different backgrounds don't matter to me. I hope you would know I could never sign the contract. I would never choose shares over getting a chance to be with you. You are much more important. Anyone who would choose otherwise doesn't know true value when they see it, in who you are Anxin not in shares. If you really reject me I will leave you alone Anxin if that's what you really want, but I hope it's not."
He paused to take a breath " I am so used to being in control that being out of control was very hard for me. So I tried to plan but did it wrongly keeping the truth from you, especially for so long. I hope you see it wasn't malicious. I had my brother who tried to hurt me, trying to stay hidden and work on the company behind the scenes all while adjusting to living somewhere else." He paused and looked at her.
"And then there was you. I never expected to find someone who makes me so happy. I know we didn't at first but soon that changed." He paused to smile then continued. "I didn't realize it in the beginning but I should have handled it better. In any case I should have told you what was going on earlier. I just didn't know what to do. I felt so anxious and over time you were able to ease that. I've been trying to show you I care about you. I know I have been pushy." He looked guilty. "I was just hoping to win you back. Again I'm sorry and I hope you can give me another chance."
