The battle against the forces of Gwyn had resulted in a number of casualties among their forces. Mist had spent the past several hours tending to injuries and observing the current state of the army. Ike had asked her to take along the new Smash Brother, Sora, who had apparently been the one to destroy the enemy's trump card. Sora was an energetic young man that enthusiastically accompanied her about her duties, even surprising her with his own brand of healing magic. Mist found herself liking him very much. For the first time since she had met them, she found herself introducing Sora to the other members of the Super Smash Brothers.

"Oh, this is Simon Belmont…"

"Ah, greetings." Simon said. He was kneeled over a woman called Bayonetta, deep in concentration. During the fighting she had apparently been hit with some kind of curse that made her hideously ugly. Now that the fighting was over a number of people had taken to caring for her as they sought a way to break the curse. She was, Mist could see, noticeably thinner and less pulsating bulges.

"Ugh, I mustn't be seen this way." Bayonetta murmured, pressing a hand to her eyes. "If my husband was here I would never hear the end of it."

"We'll get you back to normal soon." Simon assured her. "I-"

The flap to the tent opened, and the group turned to see a tall, imposing woman step into the room.

"Well." The woman said, as she elegantly stepped into the room. "You certainly seem to be in good health."

"Oh… Jeanne." Bayonetta said. "Now… isn't the best time, I'm afraid…"

"I came as soon as I heard." Jeanne said, as she knelt down next to them. "How is she?"

"She's better than she was." Mist said. "But we're having problems fixing the curse."

"Hm." Jeanne said. "I-"

"Let me help." Sora interjected. The group turned to look at him.

"Hm?"

"Her Heart has been swapped." Sora said. "I think if I just…"

He waved his hand, and a giant key appeared in his hand. Jeanne stared.

"Is that a Keyblade?" She asked sharply. "Where did you get that?"

Sora laughed. "It's a long story." He said. "But I think I should be able to fix her with this."

He raised the giant key and pointed it straight at Bayonetta's chest. There was a bright surge of light and suddenly Bayonetta was back to her normal self.

"My!"

Bayonetta sat up and stretched.

"Next time, dear." Bayonetta said, as she adjusted her glasses. "Do that before anyone I care about sees me. Alright?"

"Okay." Sora said, grinning. "I'm Sora."

"A pleasure." Bayonetta said. "I am Bayonetta. And this is my friend, Jeanne. I am in your debt."

Sora and Mist left the group alone to chat as they proceeded through the camp.

"How did you do that?"

"Swap her heart?" Sora brandished the key again. "This has the power to do that. I'm still learning how to use it, really… but I knew I could do it."

Mist had a whole sea of questions to ask, but one came at the forefront. "What is a Super Smash Brother anyway?"

"You mean you don't know?" Sora asked, frowning. "I was hoping you would explain it to me. Isn't your brother one?"

"And my future sister in law… and a lot of other people here." Mist said, her voice frustrated. "But no one will explain it to me, really."

"I don't know anything more than what I was told by that voice." Sora said. "That I was to join you in your fight."

He waved his hand around.

"I can see why I was brought here." He said. "I can see that a lot of different people from a lot of different worlds have been summoned here… and that the fighting needs to stop. I can tell that you've all lost a great deal. You all have families waiting for you back home…"

Mist felt her heart melt at his words.

"You're right." She said. "None of us want to be fighting. We all came here for a wedding. That's what we wanted. To see my brother and the woman he loves get married."

Sora grinned widely at her.

"We'll make it happen. I know it."

"Zant has failed us." Kratos said. "I thought this plan was fool proof."

The Enemy sat in their circle, staring at each other. None of them wanted to admit that the fact that the Smash Bros had overwhelmed all of their forces almost singlehandedly.

They were:

Kratos: Representative of Playstation. Leader of the Playstation All-Stars.

Tracer: Representative of Activision-Blizzard and all of their forces. Including Overwatch, The Demons of Diablo, The Zerg, Terran, and Protoss Forces. And every single soldier that had ever answered the Call of Duty.

Liquid Snake: Representative of Konami and leader of FOXHOUND. Under his command the alien forces that had invaded the earth during the Alien Wars in 2636.

Summoner Yuna: Representative of Square-Enix of every Final Fantasy release.

Miles 'Tails' Prower: Representative of SEGA and the Yakuza of Kamurocho.

Carl Johnson: Representative of Rockstar Games and the man who owned all of San Andreas.

Master Chief: Representative of Microsoft and all of its various subsidiaries. Including the Psychonauts, Rareware, and all of Microsoft's subsidiaries. (Which coincidentally include Activision-Blizzard… but that is neither here nor there)

"No strategy is fool proof." Yuna said. "A plan could go better than you initially expected it to… and then you realize that it was never what you actually wanted."

"Wise words, summoner." Master Chief said. "But time grows short. The enemy are quickly approaching Dracula's Castle. It is only a matter of time until they destroy it."

"Not unless we destroy them first." Kratos rasped.

"What is our next move?" Tracer asked curiously.

"I'll go."

The Enemy turned and looked at Miles Tails Prower, as he got to his feet.

"I've waited too long to see Nintendo fail." Miles said. "If I don't do it personally… I won't feel satisfied."

"Are you sure you can manage it Miles?" Tracer asked, a little doubtfully. "Most of your people would rather side with the Smash Brothers…"

"Because of Sonic?" Tails asked, his voice cold. "Because of that whore, Bayonetta?"

"Watch your language." Tracer said. "Bayo's cute." A dribble of drool ran down the side of her mouth. "I'd love to have her, heehee."

Tails ignored her.

"Any spirits of SEGA that ally themselves with the Super Smash Brothers are our enemy." Tails said. "We cannot allow petty feelings of friendship get in the way of what needs to be done."

He stood up.

"Allow me to take the charge." He said. "I will destroy them all. It is my Dream."

The Circle looked at each other, and nodded.

"Very well." Kratos said. "You will lead the next charge, Miles Prower. See to it that you do not fail."

"I will never give up." Miles said. "Not now. Not ever."

"This isn't possible!"

Over the past several hours, Samus Aran had navigated through all of the courses that Super Monkey Ball had to offer her. AiAi floated above her, staring down at her with a frightened gaze.

"This isn't possible!" He roared. "Those courses are nearly impossible! No one could have possibly…"

"You have lost, AiAi." Samus said, still in her ball form. "Now release me."

"Never." AiAi snapped. "You will wait for another series of courses to be designed and released. When that happens… then you will fail."

"That wasn't the deal."

"You are not in the position to stop me!" Aiai said. He held his arms wide. "This ball is impervious to all damage. While I am inside it, I am invulnerable to all forms of damage. I cannot be crushed, or killed from falling from great heights. I am-"

Samus converted back to her normal state and leapt forward, arm outstretched. Her hand gripped onto the ball, and her Metroid ability kicked in. AiAI screamed as all of the limitless power of the Monkey Ball was absorbed, destroying the ball in a simple grasp.

He fell to the ground, defeated, as the world around them burst into flame. And soon Samus found herself standing back in the halls of Castlevania.

"Welcome back." Shanoa said, as Samus stepped past her. "You were successful."

"I was." Samus acknowledged. "How many more paintings remain?"

"Several." Shanoa responded. "Too many to count. Doubtless you could clear them all yourself, but due to their nature a single person would take a significant amount of time. Time that, I daresay, you do not have."

"Ike and the others are on their way, I am sure." Samus said. "Once we have more people… this Castle will be ours."

"I cannot say for sure." Shanoa said. "I know nothing of what occurs outside of this Castle." She tilted her head upwards. "Even when you do make your way to Dracula, he and Ashera must be destroyed at the same time to destroy this unique piece of architecture."

"Tell me about Dracula." Samus said. "Do I have the power to destroy him?"

Shanoa looked a little surprised that she even asked. "Of course. You are the Lady Hunter, after all."

"Then I suppose I should do it, if I must." Samus said. "And Ike can destroy Ashera again." She pulled up her map and surveyed it. "Perhaps I would be of better use mapping out the castle, rather than focusing on destroying these paintings…"

"I'm worried about Mum."

Thirteen year old Viola Redgrave, aspiring Umbran Witch was dangling her leg off of the ledge of Bayonetta's home in Smashville. She had initially assumed attending a wedding would be trite and boring, but had found herself taken aback by how anime everything was. Despite how out of place she felt… being too young to hang around the adults and too old to hang out with the kids… she found herself surprised at how much she enjoyed the wedding so far. It was fun just chilling in the streets of Smashville, watching all the crazy things and people who were now living here. She just wished she was old enough to be in the midst of the action.

Her friend and only confidant in this strange place was Chesire, who was currently lounging with her, listening to her ramble while he smoked a pipe.

"You think she's going to be alright?" Viola asked. Before Chesire could respond, however, she caught sight of Princess Peach walking by, Parasol in hand.

"Oh, hello." Peace said pleasantly, as she caught a look at her. "You are… Bayonetta's daughter, aren't you?"

"Uh, yeah." Viola said, a little bit nervously. She wasn't sure how she should address the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom. "Um, I've seen Mum wearing your dresses before."

Peach laughed. "She really did enjoy them, didn't she? Clothes look different depending on who is wearing them…"

To Viola's great surprise Peach leapt upward and gracefully floated up towards her.

"We have just gotten word from the front." Peach said, as she sat down next to her. "Your Mother is going to be just fine."

Viola stared at her.

"Wha- really?"

"Yes, really." Peach said, smiling at her. "When I got the news I just had to come tell you personally. I knew you were all very worried."

"I-I wasn't worried." Viola denied, blushing furiously. "I… I knew she would get better! She had to!"

Peach laughed. Viola's blush reddened. Peach was a lot friendlier than she would have expected. She now understood why her Mother always spoke of Peach so highly… highly enough to cosplay as her.

"Why don't you join me on my rounds?" Peach asked, as she held out her hand. "You can meet some of the other children."

Viola stared at her, a little apprehensively, before giving a small nod.

"A-alright."

A/N

Bayonetta 3 has just seen release.

Viola didn't exist before this story was published, so this chapter was extremely Bayonetta focused. Honestly I'm beginning to wonder if I should just have alternate stories upload where I go into the backgrounds and DEEP LORE of each individual character, because I feel as if giving focus on characters like Viola is really messing with the pacing. Please let me know what you think about that idea.
