Chapter 5: Jotaro Kujo wants a job
The group watched as the cloak grew around Hayasaka's body, forming into a full purple and green suit, with highlights mimicking the night sky, the moon still prominent in the middle of the suit.
"How did she get a stand? The corpse isn't here, is it?" Josuke concernedly said.
"I don't think so. We would have seen it. Unless it's where she went to change before coming back, but she would've passed out there if that's true," Jotaro reasoned.
"How is this a stand?" Shirogane asked, "all of ours appear behind us, but Haysaca is wearing hers!"
"There are more types of stands than just beings that appear behind you," Jotaro explained, "hers is apparently wearable. We encountered an assassin in Singapore who wore his stand back in '88, although his was made of a yellow goo instead of being a full-on body suit like this."
Shirogane gulped. 'Assassin!? Just who is this guy!? And what kind of crazy life has he lived!?' he thought.
"She could've gotten hit by the arrow. Or maybe not. Is there even an arrow in this place?" Okuyasu asked. He still didn't quite have a handle on being in an alternate dimension.
"Is she going to be able to get out of this thing? Or will she just be stuck in it forever?" Kaguya asked.
"It should be summonable and un-summonable like our stands," Jotaro replied, "At least, I think it should. Every stand is different, and I've learned not to assume what a stand can and can't do before witnessing it for myself, apart for a few universal rules."
"Either way, how is this possible? No way the corpse is around here, right?" Josuke continued asking indignantly.
"No, it's not."
The group turned towards the voice. A revived Miko Iino stood in the hole in the wall.
"I have no idea where it actually is, but I know how Haysaca got her stand. It was through Kaguya. Kaguya is spreading stands in this dimension like a virus. That's how I got Discipline, through dragging Kaguya to the school infirmary. I imagine the nurse has a stand too, which means he probably got to her too."
"Who's 'he'?" Jotaro questioned the girl.
"No clue. After taking Kaguya to the nurse's office and then getting sick myself, I went back to the student council room to pick up my stuff, and hopefully find out what that corpse was," Miko explained, "When I got there, the corpse was gone, but there was a man there who was distorting in and out of reality, so that I couldn't really tell what he looked like. That's when everything goes dark. Now I'm here."
Shirogane stared at his friend. "So, you don't remember attacking us?" he asked.
Miko's eyes bugged out and her face flushed red. "I-I attacked you?" she stammered.
"Yes, and Kaguya managed to beat your 'unbeatable' Discipline," Josuke said sarcastically, "If I had a nickel for every time an 'unbeatable' stand was beaten, I'd be rich. Anyways, come on inside so I can fix this wall."
Miko stepped through the hole in the wall. Once inside, Josuke walked over to it, summoning Crazy Diamond. Crazy Diamond punched the wall, and the pieces of stone and wood flew through the air, reforming the wall just as it was.
Kaguya stared at her hands. "Why am I spreading stands? Is the president spreading stands too?" she muttered.
"It's hard to say for sure. I've never encountered anything like this corpse before, so who's to tell what will happen," Jotaro said.
Suddenly, Hayasaka woke up.
"What's going on? What am I in?" She asked, a tinge of panic in her voice.
"That would be your stand," Jotaro explained, "I would suggest trying to unsummon it, but I guess it doesn't matter."
Hayasaka nodded. She closed her eyes, and after a few seconds the stand disappeared, revealing her Haysaca disguise to the group.
She opened her eyes again. "How did I get one? I wasn't near this corpse you spoke of, Mr. Kujo."
"Apparently I spread them through touch," Kaguya said, still obviously shocked by this revelation.
Hayasaka stared at her employer. "How is that possible?" she asked.
"It's an evolving situation," Jotaro simply said.
A buzzing noise was suddenly heard by the group. Shirogane took his phone out of his pocket, looked at the caller ID, and answered it.
"Wow! What kind of crazy new phone is that!?" Okuyasu exclaimed.
"Who knows. We are in another dimension. They could have all sorts of crazy sci-fi stuff around here!" Josuke replied.
Shirogane finished and hung up. "That was my dad. I need to get going now, but I'm sure we'll need to continue this sometime soon."
"We will. But before that, Josuke, Okuyasu, and I need a place to stay, and I'll probably need a job. There's only so much I'll be able to do without any money," Jotaro said.
Kaguya thought for moment, then exclaimed, "Do you have any degree that could transfer to teaching?"
"Yes. I have a doctorate in marine biology," Jotaro replied.
"Then I can pull some strings and get you a job at Shuchiin. I could maybe even get Josuke and Okuyasu enrolled. That way, we could meet up at school and discuss the situation there," Kaguya said, explaining her idea to the group.
"That sounds like a good idea," Jotaro said.
"Ah man, I have to go to school in an alternate universe now? Lame!" Josuke whined.
"Cheer up, Josuke, maybe you'll be able to score with some extradimensional chicks!" Okuyasu said.
"I like the way you think!" Josuke replied.
"It may actually be a little harder than I thought to get these two idiots enrolled," Kaguya muttered under her breath.
Here it is, Chapter 5! I'm sorry it took so long, I was trying to get inspiration for what to do next for a minute for this one. Anyways, we'll be entering the comedy zone soon, so Kaguya fans, be ready for that!
