Rava's Journey

Swept away from the mainland years ago Rava lives oblivious to the outside world. Knowing nothing outside the island that is her home with her brother Aladar and clan of lemurs that adopted them. Now taking the first steps onto a new path Rava's fate is set on a journey that perhaps will show her what has been missing. *Based off of the 2000 animated film Dinosaur* Kron/OC/Bruton

3. Chapter 3

Rava's Journey Chapter 2

By sunset all preparations are in place for the courtship.

For the time being, males and females are separate. The males in the forest are being advised on what to do by Yar and the females are already at the sacred tree with Plio, Suri, and Rava. Plio is giving her usual pep talk to the unattached females that have finally reached their coming of age ceremony. The group of single females is seated on the sacred tree's roots with Rava curved around them.

Handing out flowers to each and every one of them, speaking from experience, warmly, Plio said "Now, Girls, don't jump into the trees after the first boy with a cute back flip. It's more fun to keep them guessing. It's more fun if you keep them guessing. You're never going to forget this day, so make it one to remember."

Right on cue, Aladar arrives with the single males belonging to this year's group to find mates riding on his back. Aladar runs out from the forest into the open, bellowing loudly, and heading straight for the sacred tree.

"Hey, Girls, look what just pulled into town. Your buffet table of love," said Aladar, showcasing the single male lemurs to them.

All the females laugh softly as they observe the boys make fools of themselves on Aladar's back in an attempt to show off to them. Zini is the biggest idiot of them all almost tumbling off, barely catching himself.

As one entity all those not participating in the ceremony retreat towards the forest's edge to watch everything. The single males and females leap into the trees. Suri then leads a barrage of chittering and whooping that others soon follow, Aladar and Rava unleash bellows along with them.

At an unspoken signal, all the males launch from their perches into the air and land on vines hanging from the sacred tree. Well all except Zini. After swallowing nervously and making the jump he's somehow gotten stuck upside down. Aladar helps him out by carrying him to where he needs to be. The females then climb up their own respective vines until they are direct across from the males.

In unison the males and females launch. Zini has once again gotten stuck. Unfortunately he's gotten one of his back paws trapped on the vine. He's left helpless, only able to watch as the others join together in a dance and by the end of it they've paired together with the mates they'll be bonded with for life. The females hand the males their flowers and climb to the top of the tree to enjoy the remainder of the sunset.

Zini is left behind alone, sad, depressed, and disheartened. The lone bachelor once more this year.

Feeling sorry for Zini along with a combination of empathy and understanding for his circumstances Aladar went over to offer support and comfort.

As Aladar brings the loner over to sit with the rest of the colony Rava goes out to meet them. Zini leaves brother and sister alone and the two sit together.

Regardless of how they feel about the situation Plio hops over to speak to them.

Teasingly, Plio said "Well it's never really been his best event."

Chuckling, Aladar said "He's got a tougher hide than mine."

"Oh Aladar, Rava, if only there were someone on the island for you. Well, you know, someone who looks like you, but prettier or more handsome," said Plio, lovingly hugging their snouts.

Gently nudging her back as she leans against Aladar, Rava said "Come on, Plio. What more could we want?"

By the way whose been watching House of the Dragon? I am so in love with Prince Daemon. He is a dream. Matt Smith was the perfect person to play that character. Similar to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool no one could've done it better.
