Amber's Pov
'What's taking them so long?'
That was the only thing that came to mind as I waited for Kaeya's runner to arrive.
Before we separated after Lisa told us what to do, I asked Kaeya to send a runner, so I can give her my report. I would have preferred to give my report by mouth but this is really important.
Looking at the report again to see if I missed anything and seeing none I impatiently tapped my feet. The runner is late, it's fine if this reaches Jean late because I'm heading straight towards her after this to personally give her the report, but if Aether reaches Kaeya first…
A minute has passed since Aether left for the Temple of the Wolf when I finally heard it. The sounds of rushing footsteps heading toward me, looking at where the sounds were coming from I saw a girl in purple running towards me.
She was bruised and out of breath when she reached me, I looked at her.
Is this the runner Kaeya sent me?
After a couple of seconds, she composed herself.
"Is thou the herald of messages that the great commander has assigned the Great Prinzessin der Verurteilung to assist?"
What?
I looked at the girl weirdly, then a flash of purple appeared on her shoulder, and from that flash came a purple raven.
"What Mein Fräulein means, is are you the outrider that captain Kaeya has sent us for?"
Hearing the raven's explanation I nodded.
"Uh… Yeah here's the message. Please give it to Kaeya she should be at the temple of the wolves right now, get there as soon as possible" I handed the girl my report.
"Message received. The herald of messages can rest in ease, for the Prinzessin der Verurteilung shall personally bring one's message to the great commander with the speed of light" After saying her words the girl and the raven turned and began to move towards the temple of the wolf.
Before they could get any further I remembered an important detail that I nearly forgot to tell her, cupping my hands around my mouth I shouted.
"Make sure you get to her before a guy with a braid, a floating white companion and the idol of Mondstadt reach her. If they arrive before you get to give Kaeya the message, make sure to give it to her as discrete as possible!"
The girl only gave me a thumbs-up, and not a second later she was enveloped with purple light. The only thing that was left where she stood was the raven who flew away.
Kaeya's Pov
Standing by the temple I waited for the hero to arrive. While waiting for him I took out the reports Dawn's spy network had given me regarding the Tenebris Skýlos. (1)
I read the reports for about three minutes until I hear the sounds of flapping wings. Looking up and hiding the report I spot a purple raven heading toward me.
The raven descended, and when it was near the ground it flashed briefly, out from the raven popped Amy, or as she likes to call herself Fischl.
The Prinzessin landed as gracefully as she could, she approached me and took out a letter.
"Greetings, great commander I have a message for thee, gifted to me by the herald of messages. I would be most pleased if thee were to receive her message"
"Ah. Your majesty, I am internally grateful that you personally gave this to me. I would also like to apologize on behalf of the herald of messages. She knows not, that she was speaking to the great Prinzessin herself"
"Oh Commander you need not apologize for her behalf, for I am fond of the mortals of this world, thus I have more patience in the way they talk to the Great Prinzessin."
Fischl then looked in one direction, and she began to clutch her 'sealed' eye.
"Ah! my Auge der Verurteilung is reacting. Oz has located the one who is hailed as the hero. Commander, I must take my leave, and the herald of messages has told thee to promptly read the forbidden texts. The words within the texts are vital before thou starts the mission." Snapping her fingers, her ever-loyal raven appeared beside her, giving me a wave which I returned. And with a flash of purple Fischl disappeared and Oz flew away.
Deciding I wasted enough time chatting with Fischl I opened Amber's report. It read.
On my way to the assignment, I met Aether, who helped me clear the camp. When we reached it we quickly dispatched the churls. A second group of churls came for backup, but Aether took care of them, by using elemental energy. I'll write it down again. AETHER CAN USE ELEMETAL ENERGY. So stay cautious around him, he might be a spy of the Tenebris Skýlos or Fatui. But don't go on harassing him, because maybe he can just use the elements. BUT please Kaeya if you ever had a suspicion of him being dangerous to Mondstadt. DO NOT FIGHT HIM ALONE. From what I've seen in our fight with the Hilichurls he has complete mastery of the element he is using. -Amber out.
This…. Complicates things.
Amber is right, I can't just go around harassing him "no matter how funny it is." And not only that, he is Modstadts hero, if he is a Fatui almost nothing will change, well maybe the public view on Shenznaya will change from neutral to liking them ever so slightly. The problem lies if he comes out as a member of the Tenebris Skýlos, public unrest will be the least of our concerns. Modstadt will have a dept to pay if he is a member of those bastards.
A dark thought came to me as I remembered what atrocities that group did.
"Doesn't matter. Hero or not if I ever have a suspicion of him being a member of that group, I will personally rip out any information he has."
As I thought of things best left unsaid. I saw our hero(?) approach me. If he is part of Tenebris Skýlos he hides the vision he stole extremely well.
"You've arrived hero, it's quite ungentlemanly to make a lady wait, but I suppose for someone as handsome as you I can make an exception~." I made sure to make my voice as sultry and as seductive as possible.
If he is a part of those dogs, this would make him show some cracks. Those pigs will act like pigs when a woman will show them even the slightest bit of interest. And while there are pigs who pretend to be all gentlemanly and respect the woman by courting her or asking for her permission. It will end the same.
The woman gets kidnapped or goes missing. A few weeks later they'll find her body either defiled by those scum, dead, or both.
So show me, hero, give me a reason to just put you down now right on the spot.
Aether looked at me, and I looked at him. His eyes showed confusion, good. Now all I need is lust or desire so I can put you down.
Instead of those two that I predicted, annoyance came to his eyes.
"Miss Kaeya, while I am flattered that you find me handsome, need I remind you that time is of the essence to the mission. The good people of Modstadt are suffering, both of us can flirt with each other all we want WHEN this problem is solved."
Right… What was I thinking? Mondstadt is being attacked by one of the four winds. I can figure out if Aether is an ally or foe later. The city has to be kept safe.
"Aw so serious~, oh well I suppose you are correct hero." As I said that, I looked at Barbara standing at Aether's side. Who gave me a smile when our eyes connected. Something or rather someone is missing.
"Say, hero where's your companion? She was stuck to you like a swordsman is stuck to their weapon." As I asked, something literally popped into existence besides the hero.
"Paimon is here. She just went into hiding so the Hilichurls that attacked earlier wouldn't find her."
I looked at the hero. Who just shrugged his shoulder.
"Paimon just found out that she can do that literally a few minutes ago, so this is new, even for me."
Shaking my head, I opened the door and motioned for them to get inside. As we go in my nostrils were hit by the scent of ash.
"Careful hero. Things are about to get lively here, and Barbara dear stay close to me or Hero, and if things get dangerous. Run away. Jean will have my head if she finds out that you were seriously injured." Barbara nodded, the hero on the other hand closed his eyes, when he re-opened them. Gone was the calm, confident look, in their place were the eyes of a warrior. Fierce, alert, and ready for anything.
He turned to me and nodded.
"On your orders. Captain."
Oh? How interesting.
*Time skip*
The whole mission was going smoothly, All we dealt with were a couple of churls and slimes but other than that, we were breezing through the temple. All we need is to find the source that is powering Stormterror.
Opening the last gate we're greeted by a churl.
But it wasn't just some ordinary churl, it was a Lawachurl.
Normally Lawachurls prefer to be left alone, so why is this one in here? Together with the other churls and slimes?
Noticing us it stood up and let out a roar. Its body covered itself in Geo-energy and rushed at us.
"Barbara! Apply some hydro I'll freeze it. Hero while it is frozen w-" I wasn't able to finish my orders when an arc of Anemo energy passed me and sliced the Lawachurls head clean of its neck.
I stared wide-eyed at the sheer power that attack held. The lawachurl had protected its body with Geo-energy making it extremely hard and that attack cut through it like a hot knife cutting butter!
Turning to where the attack came from. I wasn't surprised at what I saw, Hero over there had one of his eyes closed and was pointing his index finger at the Lawachurls corpse.
I didn't doubt Amber's report. But seeing it with my own eyes is unnerving. I may not have elemental sight or an expert in gauging how strongly someone uses their elements. But even someone who has no knowledge of how the elements work could tell the sheer power that attack had.
"Sorry if that… Surprised you, captain… It looked dangerous so… I thought instead of risking anyone of us…. Getting hurt I decided to just end it.." Hero spoke but unlike before where his tone was alert and professional. He was talking like he hadn't slept for five days straight. (Don't ask me how I know.)
"Um. Mr. Hero are you alright? You look tired." Barbara asked. Hero didn't answer her for about five seconds. He blinked and the calm, confident look returned to his eyes.
"Ah, yes. Sorry about that miss Barbara, everytime I use my elemental power it makes me tired for a short brief of time, and also, please. Mr. Hero is too formal I would prefer it if you call me Aether." Hero explained to Barbara why he was out of it when she asked him the question. But during his explanation, his companion raised an eyebrow when he told us that he gets tired every time he uses his power.
'I'll have to ask Amber about that one.'
Oh well. Might as just gain some more info on him while he is answering.
"So. Hero… Unless I'm not mistaken, you don't seem to have a vision so how exactly are you able to use elemental energy? And an additional question, have you ever heard of a group called Tenebris Skýlos?"
"Hmm. Well ever since I was born, our parents told me and my sister that we could use elemental powers. And as for your second question… No, I haven't heard of them."
When he said that Barbara gasped while I raised one of my eyebrows. Nearly everyone in Teyvat, even people who live in secluded areas knows what the Tenebris Skýlos group is.
"Why. Should I know what they are?"
As he asked. His companion facepalmed, she looked disappointed at herself.
Hmm, How curious.
Aether(s) Pov
"Hey, you guys know what that name translates to if we use the two main languages we use back home, right?"
"Believe me. You aren't the only one who noticed and is absolutely livid right now"
"Maybe… It's *Yawn* A joke the sisters… Of fate playing on us?"
Guys let's calm ourselves before we do something harsh. Maybe this is just a big coincidence.
"Keep telling yourself that. Look miss healer over there looks scared, while Captain suspicious tone is full of disgust when she mentioned that group."
… Yeah, you're right well let's just hope it's not Eostia(2) all over again.
"..."
Ah, who the fuck am I kidding. It's definitely going to be Eostia all over again. Let's just do our best to not get caught up in the spotlight.
"That's already a ship that sailed. We fended off a dragon that was attacking a city, not only that, but didn't Captain suspicious said that nearly everyone in the city saw us? So unless the people of Mondstadt are ungrateful for being saved. We would be quite popular for some time."
My insight-sharing with my other selves was interrupted by Captain Kaeya who let out a sigh filled with disbelief.
"Hero. I'm aware that you have just arrived in Mondstadt and aren't aware of the enemies our nation has. But everyone in Teyvat knows who the Tenebris Skýlos are. So it's honestly really suspicious that you don't know enemy number one of nearly all nations."
"What's our alibi?"
Tell the truth.
"WHAT?!" "Heeeh?..."
Just trust me.
Rubbing my head guiltily I let out an awkward cough. "Ok, I shall tell you the truth that only Paimon knows. I'm trusting both of you Captain and miss Barbara to not tell this to anyone else."
When that left my mouth, Kaeya lowered her hands and looked ready to lunge at me. While Barbara was sweating.
"To be perfectly honest I'm not from Teyvat." The three people with me were wide-eyed at my revelation. Two were from the Information of me not being a Teyvat native, while one was from the shock that I let out a secret that took her a few months to get.
"You see. My sister and I started traveling at the young age of 8 years old. Fast forward twelve years, and we've completely traveled and memorized the continent we were raised in. So after that, we decided to go to a new continent. Which is why I am now here."
Captain Kaeya still had suspicion in her eye, but there was also curiosity in them.
"How did you get here in Teyvat. And how long have you stayed here?"
"Well to make a long story short. Me and my sister found out that the transport vehicle we used to get here was actually operated by megalomaniacs. One thing led to another. We found out that they were planning on going to a nation called Shenznaya to exchange blueprints for weapons so that they can rule our continent, and well let's just say that the vehicle and the maniacs who operated it were taken care of with a bang. Literally. We made it explode, and during our escape from the explosion, we were separated. Which is why I am now looking for her. As for how long I've been in Teyvat… Hmm, I'd say around three or four months give or take."
"Wow. How long have you thought of that alibi?"
Literally just now. Hopefully, Captain will be satisfied with it and understand why we are ignorant of the common knowledge here in Teyvat.
Captain Kaeya absorbed the information I gave with absolute neutrality, while Barbara looked at me excitedly. Well, at least my explanation made someone excited.
Captain Kaeya was about to open her mouth when she was interrupted by the bouncing healer. Who had stars in her eyes and began firing me questions.
"Really? Aether what's your continent called?" "Are the animals there different from the animals here?" "Do you have gods that you worship?' "Wait.. You said you were blessed by the gods in sister's office.. Ignore that question. How many gods does your home belie-"
"Barbara dear, you can ask Hero about his home when Mondstadt is safe from Stormterrors attack. Believe me when I say that even I want to know more. But Mondstadt comes first ok?" Barbara backed down and was pink in the face.
"Alright. Hero your secret is safe with us. And to inform you about them, the Tenebris Skýlos is a group of lowlives that kidnaps, rape, or kills anyone who has visions. So I suggest you stay cautious on who you talk to. Those waste of flesh have spies on nearly every nation, and well if you can use elements they might try to recruit you. So I will say this now if you do join them, I will personally hunt you down and make you suffer."
"Well. Looks like we were right. It's Eostia all over again."
"Well, look on the bright side, unlike Eostia the group of lowlives here have no control over the monsters and are completely alone in their delusion of ruling this world."
"True and hey. Captain Suspicious over there threatened us you gonna say something?"
"You can rest easy captain, I will never join those lowlives."
"Really? she threatened us and you're just going to let it go?"
She is still suspicious of us. It's best if we earn her trust before we make any harsh decisions like threatening someone of higher power. Need I remind you that she is a captain of a military force.
"... Right kinda forgot we are on incognito"
"Right well, now that we are done we that conversation, let's try to find whatever is giving Stormterror its power."
It didn't take us a long time to find it due to the amount of wind energy that it was producing.
"Well, that was very fun." Kaeya said as we destroyed the source of Stormterrors power. She turned to me and gave me a smile.
She should at least put some effort into making her smile believable.
"Stories of your heroic deeds to save Mondstadt from destruction shall be known throughout the city of Freedom, and well into the future." She then gave me a suggestive wink, that could be interpreted as flirting… But I know better.
"Please do visit me at the headquarters when you have the time. Where we can have a nice long chat about Teyvat or your home~" I rolled my eyes at that.
"Or if that's not your thing, I also know a lovely tavern where the drinks there are absolutely exquisite."
Ok. Maybe I should take her up on her offer. Say all that you want boys. But it's been a while since we drank.
"No objection here."
"Sure, I kinda miss the taste of wine."
"Zzzzz…."
Third Person Pov
"Quite rewarding, no?" Kaeya said as she dusted her clothes.
Turning to the Lawachurls corpse she let out a grimace.
"I'll take care of the rest here. Barbara be a dear and lead our hero to the temple of the Lion. He might get lost and wander off to another Nation."
Aether let out a sarcastic laugh while Barbara and Paimon let out a giggle at the joke. They turned around and waved farewell to the Cavalry captain who returned her own.
As the trio we're out of view Kaeya looked back at the corpse and frowned.
"There's no way hilichurls can organize an ambush like this themselves, not with their limited mental capacity…" Kaeya spoke.
A laugh was an answer she got.
"Thus YOU were behind this."
From one of the pillars of the temple came out a floating creature that was nearly the same size as Paimon. It laughed again, its voice unbefitting its small stature.
"Oh. Boohoo me, it seems like I got caught. Oh well."
Kaeya could feel the power the abyss mage was gathering, but she didn't bother looking at it. As the mage was about to end its incantation it was interrupted by fire that was hurled at its face.
A red blur passed Kaeya who let out a smirk.
'Well, this sure is a surprise, a welcome one, but a surprise nonetheless.'
The woman who arrived had red hair tied in a ponytail that reached down to her waist. She wore a black dress shirt, a long white vest, and a black ascot with a red gem. Over this, she dons a dark brown coat with dark red streaks on the sides. She wears black pants which are embellished with chains on each thigh, while a Vision rests on the center of her belt.
She grabbed the mage by its face and threw it upwards. She followed it with a jump and brought her claymore above her head for a swing. The abyss mage raised its wand in a panic, but the claymore broke the wand with ease. Seeing its only way of protection be broken the mage screamed thinking its life would end here, but at the last moment, the claymore turned and the mage got bashed by the blunt side of the blade. The impact launched it to the ground knocking it unconscious.
"*Huff* The current knights left for Mondstadt are inefficient. You slacking on the job Kae?"
"Oh please sister, you only have to deal with your spy network and your nightly activities, while I deal with Mondstadt's patrol group, check if any of the knight's equipment if they need maintenance, sort through the ranks if we have a spy. And don't even get me started on helping Jean, because that is a conversation in itself."
"*Sigh* That Jean, do I really have to go there and force her to take a break myself?"
"I think you have to Dawn, she mostly listens to you. But enough of that conversation, why are you here?"
The now-named Dawn said nothing but approached the body of the unconscious mage. She reached inside her coat and took out chains, which made Kaeya raise her eyebrow but a second later her expression turned from confusion to mischievous.
"Wow sis, I know dealing with the idiotic suitors and being Mondstadt's vigilante could be stressful, but I never expected you to relieve your stress by using the abyss mages to satisfy the dark desires that you have. Do not worry as your sister, your secret is safe with me."
"SHUT UP KAE! IT'S NOT LIKE THAT!"
Kaeya giggled at her sister's heated reaction. Dawn on the other hand just let out a frustrated sigh, already annoyed at her sister's antics.
"I hope you don't need him." Dawn informed Kaeya as she chained the limbs of the Abyss mage. "I want to pry some information from him regarding the abyss orders plan. You read the report my network gave you?"
Kaeya shook her head, Dawn only let out a tired sigh from her sister's reply.
"Oh well, can't be really disappointed in you for not having the time to read the report, you have been pretty busy especially now that Stormterror is attacking Mondstadt. I trust that you guys have it under control?"
"Of course, why do you think I am here at this temple."
"Good. See you at the weekend?"
"No, tonight."
Dawn looked shocked at her sister's sudden announcement. The shock turned to a rare genuine smile from her. "Oh! Um, I guess I'll have Adelinde and the rest of the maids prepare for good then."She won't say it but every time Kaeya comes for a visit. She, Adelinde, and the rest of the maids always make sure that the winery is more grandeur than it already is.
Kaeya shook her head negatively.
"Sorry Dawn, this isn't one of my monthly visits where we catch up. I'm pretty sure Jean will share this with you too, considering if she knows this info. It regards Mondstadt safety so the most soundproof room we have is needed before I give you this information."
"Should I tell Adelinde to give the other maids an earlier time out?" Dawn proposed, to which Kaeya nodded making Dawn worry about the information her sister will share. If it's enough to make Kaeya this protective of the information, it means actual trouble.
The trio arrived at the temple of the Lion relatively quickly, thanks to Barbara's guidance.
The walk to the temple wasn't quiet. To the displeasure of one of Aether's other selves. Due to her curiosity regarding someone who wasn't a Teyvat Native she was full of questions.
The questions reign from how his home looked like, the different foods they ate, to the gods they worshiped. Barbara would have asked more until they spotted Lisa. She stopped asking him questions due to her keeping her promise of keeping his place of birth a secret. But from the way, her eyes kept glancing at him in the temple she still wants to ask more questions.
Inside the temple was where the tension within the mindscape started to appear.
'HEY! WHERE THE FUCK IS ELEMENTAL MAN! KINDA NEED HIS EXPERTISE HERE!'
"He's asleep, motherfucker fell asleep as soon as he got here."
'No way that fuck is tired after casting ONE spell just to kill a creature that has the same strength as an ogre.'
The current Aether who was controlling the body was mildly annoyed if you could put it that way, at one of his other selves' laziness.
He wouldn't be as annoyed as he was if this temple was similar to the last two. All he needed to do was kill some monsters and solve a couple of puzzles. Pretty straight forward really. This temple is where he was starting to get annoyed, due to various elemental monuments that were required to activate to open the gates that blocked each room.
And as a cruel joke that the sisters of fate found funny, the Aether who has mastery over elemental control is asleep. Because of course, he is.
He was the one who has mastery over fights! Not Elemental control. Creation dammit!
Social guy, take over. I'm going to wake that fucker myself.
"Um… Sure?"
Shifting control to one another, the social Aether began to ponder on ways to activate the monument. Lisa and Barbara separated from him and Paimon to activate the other monuments within the temple, and speaking of the fairy.
"Aether! Paimon went out of the temple and grabbed some rocks and sticks. can you use them to start a fire to activate the monument?" The fairy called out. And as announced, she was indeed carrying a bunch of sticks and a few rocks.
"Hmm, Yes that could work, thank you Paimon. You truly are the best companion anyone could ask for."
Paimon giggled as Aether reached his hand out and patted her head. A few head pats and rubs were given to the fairy and for some reasons unknown to the fairy, the little bit of affection given to her by her companion gave her a sense of fulfillment. A few moments passed and Aether decided he gave his companion enough affection. Removing the hand from her head, Aether reached for the items Paimon brought and began to bang them together to start a fire so they could activate the monument.
The chamber was silent, the only sound that could be heard there were the sounds of stones hitting one another. Aether could tell that Paimon wanted to say something but was hesitating to ask, so he deliberately slowed down the process in producing the fire. A few clanks later and the fairy spoke.
"Aether. Paimon is sorry."
That was not something he expected.
He stopped hitting the stones. "Why. Are you apologizing Paimon?"
"Well, for starters I've been really harsh on you after you got injured, It's just… I'm really worried about you, and seeing you get hurt like that I overreacted, so for that, I'm really sorry." Aether didn't add anything so Paimon continued to talk. "And the other thing I want to apologize for is forgetting to tell you about Tenebris Skýlos. When you obtained the power of anemo, I felt like I forgot something but I ignored that feeling, and now someone else knows that you aren't from Tey-" Paimon didn't get to finish her sentence when she felt something flick her head.
"AH! What was that for?" The fairy asked as she rubbed the spot that got hit.
"You're apologizing for worrying about my health? Do you know how dumb that sounds?"
Paimon thought about it and slowly shook her head.
Aether is strong so she shouldn't worry about his health… Right?
"Paimon I've said this to multiple people who worry for me and I will say it to you too, I'm used to people yelling at me about my health. I either have a messiah complex or I am just that person who loves helping people I can't tell you, cause even I don't know myself. Now if it was my old body I won't even consider any of your advice regarding my safety."
Paimon flinched feeling hurt by Aether's blunt words.
"But now, as I told you this morning. My powers were sealed, I no longer have that immortal-like body, and while I've been doing my best to keep myself safe. My mind still hasn't caught up to it yet. Which is why I'm relying on you to keep me in check. Do you get it?"
"Hmm, kinda… What Paimon did get is it's alright for her to be concerned for you."
"Aw Paimon, even if I have my old powers, it's still ok for you to be concerned for me. We're companions remember, it's expected for us to be concerned if the other is hurt. So don't apologize for worrying about my health alright?"
Hearing his word Paimon felt something within her chest begin to rise… It was warm, and not only that it feels good too.
"And about you forgetting to tell me about the um… Tenebris Skýlos don't worry about it. You forgot about it and I won't blame you for forgetting to tell me. It's an honest mistake that even I do sometimes, look I forgot to tell you I that I heal fast. So don't think too much about it, and regarding my alibi to captain Kaeya about me being from another continent let's talk about what we could do with it later tonight."
The warm feeling in her chest intensified, as Paimon realized that her companion isn't annoyed at her being overprotective of him.
"So your not mad at Paimon?"
Aether shook his head in negative. A smile appeared on his face as he finally started a fire, Grabbing the newly made torch Aether threw it at the monument which activated it.
"Yo switch, I want to study that monument, maybe I can find a way to make it activate without needing the element that it requires."
'By all means, make it easier for us.'
The mission was a success.
When they broke the last stone that powered Stormterror. The storm in Mondstadt disappeared completely.
The damages in the building were severe, a bunch of windmills lost some pieces of their propellor and most of the houses had lost their roofs or are just gone completely due to the three tornadoes that were summoned within the city.
On the brighter side of things, no one lost their lives. Thanks to the acting grandmaster's leadership the knights were able to evacuate all the citizens to a safer location. Due to Cathedral being unsafe as one of the windmill propellers was flung to the front of it completely destroying the entrance and making it completely exposed to the storm.
The number of people who were injured was kept to a small number. The most grievous injury being a broken leg due to a stampede that occurred when the civilians all tried to get to the Cathedral basement in their haste to find shelter. (Which proved to be pointless due to them having to relocate when the entrance was destroyed.)
When they got back to Mondstadt. Lisa and Barbara separated from Aether and Paimon.
Lisa said she was going to look for Jean to see if she could help the overworked woman with anything, while Barbara was asked by one of the knights to help with the injured, which left both Aether and Paimon to wander the street and help whoever they could help.
When the sky darkened a knight approached the two companions telling them that the grandmaster wishes to see them again.
Aether(s) Pov
'Well, what an eventful day. Told a secret to our companion, met a girl who gave us a glider, nearly got killed by a dragon, we split apart and became…. Whatever we are now, went on a mission to save a city from being destroyed and now we are chilling in a fancy room, anything I missed?'
"Nope, that's mostly what happened today. Pretty eventful I should say."
"So heard you talk while I was beating up elemental man that you were going to talk to Paimon about our alibi to Captain suspicious?"
Oh yeah, I took a glace to our companion who was sleeping peacefully at my side.
'…. Yeah, maybe tomorrow. She earned this'
"Alright, since it's night I can confidently say no one will come looking for us. So I suggest we should discuss on our situation and what we will do."
"Sure."
"...Eh fine"
Hmm, agreed.
Closing my eyes and concentrating, I felt the control I had over our body slip away and my consciousness depart for the mindscape.

AN: Hey sorry It took me so long. Spent all my time grinding for Denro daughter or Radish Archon (whatever she is called these days), I didn't pre-farmed for her, due to me having luck -50. So it was a surprise when I got her on my pulls. Anyways enough about RNGesus fucking me over and over again.
Onto the story. Going to be honest, this chapter was a bitch to write, I don't know why, it was just difficult. I have ideas on what to write but I just can't put them into words. ANYWAYS. I know I said that Aether and his other selves will talk in this chapter. But I kinda just ended it with him going to his mind so he could speak with them. If you are disappointed in that. I'm sorry but I promise that he will talk to his other selves next chapter.
Oh and you guys probably noticed Fem Diluc is much closer to Fem Kaeya than their in-game version and well I'll explain why they are close on their romance chapter. (Yes each girl will have their own romance chapters dedicated to them)
Well. That all that I can say for this chapter next chapter WILL be the chapter where the different selves will talk to one another. And maybe Aether will hang-out with Amber but no promises on that.
Well, guess this is where I'll end the notes. Bookmark/Follow this dumpster if you want to. and please give comments cause it makes me happy. See you guys in 2 weeks.
