Ch 16: Silent Library
After that night, Heart and Alastor only seemed to grow closer. Of course, the two couldn't stay at each other's houses all the time, but having one over was nice now and then. Especially for dinner nights at home. Every other night one of them would go over to the other's house to make dinner that night. Sometimes they went out, but sometimes relaxing nights at home were nice. They didn't go without each other until it was time to say their goodbyes in the night.
For a month now the two have been going about their lives as normal. Enjoying each other's company. Explore their bodies again now and then as well since they felt very content doing the activity. They liked the closeness and the feeling it brought them. Making them feel closer than before and being lost in each other.
Heart continued her life as normal in the library and Alastor went to the radio station, the two seeing each other in the morning then when Alastor walked Heart home at night after work. Sometimes Alastor takes his time in the library to flirt and flutter with his significant other.
Of course, there were times when the librarian would disappear for a half hour when the radio host came into the library. The two lost in kisses and cuddles in the back of the library when no one was looking. They could get in trouble, yes, but that was the fun part. It never got further than that. Sometimes. More than once the two got so lost that Heart had to help Alastor get rid of a 'little friend' but she didn't mind.
When the two came back, Heart had to fix her hair and Alastor had to fix his tie. People were suspicious but never said anything. Even so, they knew the two were happy and they didn't want to get in the way of that.
As of this morning the two got off the train car hand and hand, Alastor about to head down to the station and Heart to the library behind them.
"Well, my darling, the saddest part of my day has to happen... when I leave you for work." Alastor said to her, holding her hands in his.
"Yes, I know." Heart said to him sadly. "You'll come by to see me later, right?" She asked, even though she asked every day. She knew how he would answer. The answer was never different but it reassured her to ask anyway.
"Always cher," He kissed her forehead. "Always." The man whispered.
Heart smiled. "Thanks Al." She looked up at him and kissed his cheek. "You have a good day at work my great buck."
"As do you my little wolf" The host said then reluctantly had to part ways as he walked on to the station.
Heart stood there to watch him walk down the street a few moments before turning around and running up the stairs and into the library.
Alastor paused and turned to see her run up the stairs to the library and smiled, "My cute little wolf." He sighed then went back to his route.
Heart entered the library and was greeted by her friend already at the middle desk organizing things. "Good morning." She sang.
"Hey suga! How have ya been?" Kristen chirped, placing some books on a cart to be put back on the shelves.
"I've been very good." The woman answered with a smile. "I'm ready to start the day." She says as she gets back behind the desk. "How about you?"
"That's good to hear dumplin! I'm all right. I hear from Rosie that you stopped by the shop the other day with Al! How'd you like it?" The girl questioned eagerly.
"It was wonderful and almost magical. Alastor wanted to spoil me of course. That man is too much sometimes." Heart says with a chuckle and a shake of her head.
"I can understand that. Rosie is the same with me, she can go overboard being her extravagant self." Kristen giggles. "But it's all because of how much she loves me and it's the same with you and Al. Rosie was so lonely without me, she hated every male partner and typical man that tried to hit on her. The only men she actually likes and is friends with is Alastor and her assistant at the shop, Gerard. When I came along being introduced to her by Alastor, she told me she felt an immediate spark and wanted to do whatever it took to win my affection. I'm sure either one of them told you about what happened when the previous librarian was here and what he did... Rosie loved me enough to pick me up and give me a chance seeing my beauty despite what others did to me. I felt so dirty and... worthless then when she came along and mended me, showing someone loved me like that in an intimate way, I healed and became whole again." The brunet laments.
"That's honestly extremely sweet. Yes, they told me about that horrible man and I'm glad he got what he deserved. " Heart said angrily. She cooled down quickly though, "I'm glad Rosie was there for you. To help you in that time of need. It's always good to have someone be your rock and keep you afloat. Seems we both have significant others that love to spoil us. But we aren't going to complain." She says as she elbows her friend playfully.
"Of course not, they are absolutely wonderful and I think we should have a couple's night soon to just talk and play some games at one of our homes. It will be a real shindig." Kristen suggested.
"Oh, that sounds like a wonderful idea. I think Al would have fun with that." Heart says excited. "Maybe we can plan this out today." Heart said, "Alastor usually visits on his break so maybe we can talk about it?"
"I think that would be perfect! Sometimes Rosie brings me lunch so maybe she'll be around today." The girl was excited.
"I don't have much at my house right now as far as games. Alastor likes games of a different nature." Heart chuckled at that. "So maybe we can plan to have it over your house?"
"I think that's a wonderful idea. Rosie loves to entertain and has quite the array of games and activities to do. I'm sure she'd love it." Kristen added after finishing putting the books on top of the cart.
"Well at least we got that situated." Heart says as she starts to organize some of the catalog cards. "When they get here today, we can figure out a day."
"I love that! Here, I'm going to put these books away if you need me come get me boss." The girl says with a chuckle as she wheels the cart to the nearest section, she had laid out first.
"Alrighty." Heart says waving after the girl.
She went back to putting the cards in order. Although part of her mind started to wander off. She kept a small radio nearby on the desk. Most of the time, the people in the library didn't mind music now and then but Heart kept it down really low so that it only stayed around the desk. She pulled it out and put it on top of the desk and turned it on, quickly turning it down just enough for her to hear. it was already on Alastor's radio station. She knew he would be on soon and sometimes he made the day go by faster.
Alastor was at the station and about to go on air, he knew his darling was listening and had a song picked out for her to listen to. As he dedicates one song every day to an incredibly special listener. He got ready and sat down at his chair in front of his mic. The on-air sign lit up outside and after straightening his bowtie he gave his boisterous introduction "Gooood Morning New Orleannnsss! This is your one and only radio host Alastor giving you all the news and latest songs on the radio waves."
When Heart heard him go on the air, she smiled big. "What a ham. I love that man." She sighed happily and went back to trying to work. She could double task. Trying to listen to Alastor and organize the cards at the same time.
"Well let's begin with the weather then, it's going to be a warm one with some rain in the evening. Just plan on dressing accordingly and get where you need to go before the storm."
"Oh shoot, I forgot an umbrella. I knew I would forget something today." Heart groaned.
"Now then folks, besides the weather, we do have a bit of news. We are going to hold a festival one week from Saturday! There are flyers around town, and ads in the newspapers to give you all the details! I hear it's going to be a real swinging good time grab your children and or sweetheart and head in down for an enjoyable time!"
"A festival?" Heart hummed in thought as she went to grab the paper that sat on the desk. They got a paper every day that would be put into the archives soon after. She opened it and started to look through it. "That honestly sounds like a fun date night." She said to herself as she looked at the ad.
"Yes indeedy! The festival will include good eats, some rides and games, contests and much more! Plan accordingly and see if you'd like to enter for the contests! You can always head down to city hall to see the full list and sign up. Sign-ups are open until full or this coming Saturday."
"This sounds pretty fun and big. I'm sure Alastor will want to go to this." She says as she looks at the paper. She folded up the paper and put it back down then went back to trying to go through a book with anyone that has any late returns.
"Well, there's more news to come but I'll let you all digest that for a bit during a song. This one's for a special listener out there, enjoy!" He said, then the song began to play. It was, 'I don't want to set the world on fire.'
Heart looked at the radio with a chuckle but smiled wide. "That man is too much. I don't know what I'm going to do with him." She sighed happily and started to write down a few things from the book.
Alastor would pop on and off during the morning with songs in between then it was close to lunch and the station played an hour-long playlist of songs while the crew took their lunch. Alastor made it a point to walk over and spend the hour with Heart because she would take her lunch at the same time. Sometimes he brings her a little something as well, beignets or even an entire meal.
Heart was making sure everything was cleaned up for the time being as she was going to be getting ready for lunch. Usually, she would eat at the front desk in case anyone still needed her but she was going to the back today. Soon Alastor arrived at the library and went Inside to greet his darling. He saw her clean up and prepare for lunch.
"Hello my darling! I'm here to spend my lunch with you." He said holding a little white paper bag and his lunchbox in the other.
When the man greeted her at the desk, her smile widened. "Hey Al, good to see you. I was just cleaning up a little. I figured we can eat together in the back today." She suggested it to him.
"What a wonderful idea my dear! I brought you a little treat today as well." He hummed, placing the white paper bag on her desk with a grin knowing it's her favorite and how she'll react
Heart looked at the bag a moment and shook her head. "Now what did the famous radio host bring me today?" She asked playfully as she took the bag and opened it. Her eyes lit up. "Beignets!" She cheered softly and took one out to eat it.
"Goodness dear, don't spoil your lunch now." The man teased, "Maybe I should've shown you after we ate."
"I won't." Heart said while she still had some in her mouth. She finished the bite and swallowed. "I got excited." She stuck her tongue out.
"Oho well let's get lunch underway so you can dig into these beignets afterwards." He leaned down and kissed her cheek.
Heart nodded and grabbed her lunch and headed towards the back. She was always excited when he would see her on lunch. Just these little times together were nice. At least the back of the library gave them privacy since there was a small wall that hid the little reading corner that the two considered their own little world.
"Ahh now this is paradise my love." Alastor said, sitting in the corner in a comfortable chair. Heart didn't have to worry since Kristen didn't mind sitting at the front for lunch. She wanted her friend and her fella to have time together. Rosie and she would do the same so they'd alternate days.
"I call walking on the beach paradise." She joked. "Although, I'm ok having my own little world. Especially with you here Al." Heart says with a laugh as she sits in the chair next to him. She leans on his shoulder and feels relieved.
"So, tell me my darling how was your morning, eventful?" He said opening his lunchbox and pulling out a coke bottle with his bottle opener.
"Nothing really too exciting honestly." She admitted as she pulled her sandwich out of her bag. "I've had you on all morning though." She said with a chuckle.
"You have huh? Then I'm sure you heard a special song in between my news." He winked, taking out his leftover jambalaya.
Heart gave a giggle. "Maybe and I thought it was very sweet of you." She says as she puts a hand around the back of his neck and plays with his short hair there.
"You are indeed my special listener dear, and the songs I pick are just for you. It's true you set my heart ablaze." He boops her then takes a swig of coke and a spoonful of his jambalaya.
Heart looked at him with a loving look in her eyes. "And you do the same for me." She said softly as she ran her hand through the back of his head through his hair a moment. She turned back to her lunch and took a bite of her sandwich.
"If I didn't know any better darling, I think you'd like more than just lunch hm?" The host asked her with a smirk.
Heart blushed a moment and put her sandwich down. She cleared her throat and looked at him from the corner of her eye. "Well, um, I mean. If you're on the menu then I'd happily have you for lunch." She joked with a nervous giggle.
Alastor put his jambalaya down on the table where his lunchbox was and leaned in closer to her with a smirk, "I am darling~ would you care for a taste?~" He purred in her ear.
Heart blushed more. She was not expecting him to retaliate like that. Even so she quickly recovered and looked at him with a loving gaze. "Maybe I would." She purred back and leaned her face closer to his.
"Let me give you some then, see if you like it." The man said moving in and began to unbutton his shirt after removing his vest and bow tie. Alastor had secretly been reading and trying to be a little sexier for her and educating himself on how to please his gal.
"Oh, your such a eager stag." Heart said playfully as she watched him take off his vest. When he unbuttoned his shirt a little, she put her hands forward and started to rub her hands against his chest. She then leaned forward and pecked his lips lightly for a kiss.
He gladly welcomed her touch, only she could do that. Her alone and welcomed her kiss pulling her into it passionately as his hands went up to hold her face then going up to run through her beautiful black hair. Heart stood up a moment and hiked her dress a little and sat in the man's lap. "There we go. More comfortable." She said playfully.

Lucky for her the dress she had on was just small spaghetti straps so she was able to slip them off and her bra straps and then pull her dress down a little bit. She took her bra off and put it in the chair next to them. "Maybe you would like to taste more of me then?"

Heart bit her lip and tried to hold back a moan. "I was going to suggest dessert as well. Seems like some deer has just as dirty a mind as me." She winked and then kissed his head.

Heart giggled. "I guess we are still connected huh? Although I don't want to get off you. I'm going keep you hostage here." She said with a grin.
"Oh, dear I'm forever imprisoned by such a fair enchantress who has me under her love spell! I believe I am indeed doomed." He dramatically plays around.
"Doomed indeed my love." The woman says giggling. "Although, I think if we want to eat more of our real lunches, I guess I should probably get off."
"How kind of you to allow me to eat while I'm imprisoned!" The man said with a chuckle, carefully removing himself and cleaning up with a spare handkerchief he carried with him. Then he got redressed and see if his darling needed help.
She lifted herself from her lap and tried her best to not make a mess. "I can't let my man starve while on the air now can I?" She rearranges her bottom half and then grabbed to put her bra back on. She lifted her dress up and fixed herself. "I'm going to go to the restroom really fast to clean myself up a little better."
"By all means my darling, I'll go after you to wash a little, I'll hold down the fort." Alastor winked.
Heart blew him a kiss and went to the bathroom quickly. Going inside to clean herself out as best she could and cleaning up her look. Once done and satisfied she headed back out and back to Alastor.
"Ahh there you are, little wolf, fresh and clean. Now it's my turn." The host hummed kissing her cheek as he walked past to the bathroom to make sure he was spiffy and clean.
"Very well. Although even if you get clean, you'll always be dirty." She winked as she sat back down at the table.
"Clever wolf you are then~" He replied over his shoulder as he walked.
Once he was back to his normal appearance and tidy, he joined her back for their actual meal.
Heart managed to finish her sandwich and had some grapes with her. "It was a fun lunch. We should do it again sometime." She said with a giggle.
"Darling we do it every lunch we get~ and I don't mind one bit." Alastor kissed her cheek then returned to his lunch.
She giggled. "I know we do, I just wanted to see what you'd say." She stuck her tongue out. "I enjoy it. Kind of...exciting " She blushed.
"Mm yes exciting because we keep pressing our luck and so far we haven't been caught." He whispered, booping her nose.
"Yet." She added with a laugh. "Although let's hope not. If we did at least let it be a friend and not a stranger."
"I agree my dearest." Alastor said and gave a small sigh of satisfaction as he looked at her. "I love you so much." He kissed her cheek.
"I love you too. You're amazing." She kisses his cheek back in return.
"Now I think you've definitely earned the rest of your beignets; you took quite the full course meal dear." He winked with a chuckle.
Heart blushed but still chuckled. "Well thank you." She says as she grabbed the bag and opened it. "Sometimes super sweet things I can manage. Especially you." She pinched his cheek lightly.
"Aha! I never saw myself as sweet dear, I'm quite shocked you think so." Alastor said blushing a little.
"You're as sweet as they can be Al. At least to me." She says as she kisses his cheek and takes a beignet out and takes a bite. She hums in delight.
He sat there quiet for a moment and put his hand to the cheek she just kissed and thought... no one's ever said that about him before.
Heart finished the beignet and just closed the bag to have some later. She just wrapped an arm around his and leaned against him with a happy sigh. "I love you, so much."
The Creole man was snapped out of his thoughts and just leaned in with her "I love you to the edge of this galaxy and back."
She hid her face in his arm for a moment and just squeezed a tiny bit. "I don't know what I'd do without you." She said softly. Her emotions all of a sudden getting the better of her.
"M-My darling... did I say something wrong? Please don't be sad." Alastor said to her slightly alarmed hearing her tone change holding her even closer now.
Heart shook her head. "No, you didn't say anything wrong." She told him."I'm just afraid of losing you. I'm afraid of losing what I have with you. You already mean so much to me and I don't want to be without you." She said timidly. "I'm sorry, my emotions just got the better of me. This is just the best feeling I've had ever and I don't want to not have that anymore."
"Look at me my love." The radio host said tenderly, placing his hand under her chin to guide it up slowly to him. Once they had eye contact, he looked into her eyes. "That won't happen ever, my beloved. You will never lose me, and I will never lose you." He whispered rubbing his thumb under her chin soothingly.
Heart leaned into his touch and just smiled. She still had a small number of tears built up in her eyes and when she closed them a moment they fell. His touch was soothing and so were his words. She opened her eyes again to look at him. "Thank you, Al." She whispered.
"It's how I feel my darling, no alligator tears here now, especially if you're naked and not fully dressed with that beautiful smile of yours." He soother her, wiping the tears that fell.
"Hehe, I must be the luckiest gal in the city to have a guy like you, Alastor. I wouldn't want it any other way." She told him as she smiled more up at him.
"I know for a fact I am the luckiest man in all Louisiana to have you as my gal." He booped her nose as he smiled bigger with pride.
"You're such a cat." She giggled. "But you're adorable. Thank you for making me feel so special Al. The men back home were never like you."
"Oh, really now? The men there should be, especially with a lady like yourself. Sounds to me I have to take a trip up there and educate them how to be wonderful to a lady." Alastor said.
"You might have to." Heart said with a small laugh. "They don't know how to be a gentleman like yourself."
"Heathens!" The man spat. "They have not one clue what they missed out on. Too bad for them, you're mine and I'm not letting you go, not ever." He kissed her forehead.
"They are missing out on all this." Heart said with a grin as she gestured to herself. "You have nothing to worry about. I'd never let you let me go. I'm stuck to you honey." She leaned over to give his cheek another kiss.
"Mmm I'm glad to hear it, you're stuck to me like glue sweet darling. I intend to not unstick myself." Alastor chuckled playing around and leaning close on her, invading her personal space in a joking manner.
Heart let out a small giggle. "You're a silly deer." She then booped his nose. "That reminds me. Kristen wants to have a game night over her house someday. What day do you think would work best?" She wondered.
"Hmm I'm game any day to be frank dear. It would all depend on her and Rosie, perhaps we can see if Rosie had come by to pay her a visit? Like I did for you, our lunch is sadly coming close to an end I'm afraid." He said a little sad.
Heart looked at the clock on the wall and did a small sigh as she saw the time. "Yes, I guess you're right." She said and sat up a little. "I guess we should pay them a visit."
"Not to worry dearest, it's only a few more hours after I leave then we get to spend the night tonight together." He reminds her packing up his lunch.
"This is true." Heart said with a big smile. She packed up her lunch and the beignets. "I was planning on making you dinner tonight if that is, ok?"
"Well yes of course! I'm always a flutter when you cook, besides, I can bring desert later on if you'd like~" The man whispered to her and gave a smirk.
Heart giggled as he got close to her ear. "Bring desert." She then smirked. "Then we'll see which desert we want later on."
"Yes, my lady~" He replied then finished packing up his lunch. "Shall we cher?"
Heart grabbed her bag and nodded. "Let's head back up to the front." She says and then reached over to grab his hand.
Alastor took her hand in his, it swallowed her up because it was so big. They eventually made it to the front desk and there was Rosie and Kristen quietly chatting together.
Heart smiled as the two walked back up to the desk and greeted the two. "Good afternoon, ladies. Nice to see you again, Rosie." She spoke.
"Hey sugarplum! Did you enjoy your lunch with Al?" Kristen said excitedly in a whisper, going to greet Heart as Rosie looked on with her regal posture and smile. She gave Al a secret nod and wink to communicate he was doing well. It's true Alastor being the mess he was regarding romance has gone to Rosie in secret as well to get pointers for Heart. He loved that woman with all his being, he wanted to be the best for her.
Heart nodded. "I did. It was very wonderful as always. I even have some beignets for later." She said excitedly. "How about you and Rosie?"
"We had some nice eats and got to just talk and cuddle a little having the front desk all to ourselves." Her friend said.
Rosie gave a nod looking at her girlfriend happily. "We did indeed dearie, now then, Kristen has told me about a possible idea for a game night at our abode, is that right?"
Heart nodded. "Yes! We thought it would be fun to have a double date slash game night. I was talking to Al about it as well. We are ok with whatever day you decide."
"Oh, Rosie suggested this Friday if you cats have nothing going on? It's Wednesday so it would give us more than enough time to prepare." Kristen said with excitement.
"I think Friday sounds wonderful. We can even come over right after work if you want?" Heart said and then turned to Alastor. "What do you think Al?"
"I think that is splendid my darling! I can escort you two lovely ladies there after work and if we need to pick up anything we can do so in the way." He told her.
"That's an even greater idea!" Heart said excited. "This is going to be such the bee's knees."
"Agreed darling ! Does that work for you ladies?" He asked Kristen and Rosie.
The taller woman answered. "What a clever idea my friend, I trust you will bring my sweet home to me after a long day of work as I prepare for our party. I'm a little more flexible being at the boutique."
"Don't worry Rosie. We can keep Kristen in good hands to get her home." Heart says with a giggle as she wraps her arm around her.
"I think I'll be all right my love. I have my dearest friend's Heart and Alastor to protect me." I giggle hugging and snuggling her back. This caused Alastor to chuckle at the girls being silly and it warmed his heart to see them happy, both of them, his friend, and his love.
"Alastor can protect us for sure. He did that night a while ago. It shows he can hold his own." She went and pinched his cheek lightly. "My big strong buck."
"Aha, my dear little wolf, you flatter me." Alastor blushed sheepishly, rubbing his arm.
"You deserve it. Plus, you flatter me all the time so we can be even." Heart said playfully and stuck her tongue out.
"Sneaky little dear you are. Come here." He chuckled and snatched her up in his arms, beginning to assault her with kisses.
Heart makes a little squeak of surprise from being pulled into the man's arms then having kisses planted all over her face, "Alastor." She said giggling.
He paused his assault and looked at her with a smirk. "Hm? Yes love?"
She continued to giggle slightly after he stopped and just shook her head. "You're so silly and I love that about you." She said once she recovered from her giggles.
"Ah that's good to hear I'm upholding my position then as your silly fella." The radio host set her down and kissed her cheek.
"Aw you two are such cutie pies! I'm so glad you two are so joint at the hip being the cat's pajamas!" Kristen giggled.
"Oh, you're more than just my silly fella. The list would be too long." Heart said as she kissed his cheek. She then turned to her friend with a blush. "Oh no, I'm not cute."
"Yes, you are mon petite! My cute little wolf!" Alastor chirped, holding her in his arms and snuggling her like a stuffed teddy bear.
"And you're a handsome buck." She says, giggling again as she snuggled into his hold.
WellI think it's adorable, and I think we have ourselves a game night then. This Friday after work at Kristen and I's house. Perhaps you both could be good enough to bring a dessert or contribution on your way over? Rosie asked, getting closer to her girlfriend, and draping an arm around her waist.
"Oh, I can make a banana cream pie! I have a recipe somewhere that my grandma used to use. I'd be happy to make one for you." Heart said happily.
"Mmm that sounds quite delightful. I haven't had a banana cream pie in quite some time. I'm sure it will be delectable." Kristen lit up and winked at Heart.
"If I make it right then yes. I hope it will." She then turned to Alastor. "You want to make anything Al?"
"Hmm let's see now... I can make some of that Cajun shrimp and sauce. Heart practically died when we ate it at the restaurant the other night." He said, tapping his chin.
"Oh yea! Please make that Al." Heart begged as she bounced slightly with excitement.
"Haha, I knew that would get her! I shall indeed make that then." The man winked and patted her head.
Heart accepted the touch and stopped her bouncing as she enjoyed the feeling of his hand on her head. She sighed in content.
"There's my little wolf, I will make your favorite and be sure there is more than enough." Alastor leaned down and kissed her cheek .
"Then it's settled! I'm so excited for Friday! I will make something secret and you'll just have to wait until Friday to find out! Hehe!" Kristen giggled and bounced on her heels excited.
"Oh, something secret huh? Well, i'm excited to see what this will be." Heart said with a playful smirk.
"I will make sure dinner is a splendid dish as well, we will be eating like royalty for sure." Rosie added giving her girlfriend a kiss on her forehead after causing her to blush and squeak.
Heart gave a giggle and a happy smile at her friends. She then gave a happy sigh. "This is the best thing that could happen to me." She said softly.
"I can agree to that my dearest the best thing to have ever come about!" He chirped in a showy manner.
Heart smiled at him, God did she love that man. She looked at the clock on the desk and turned back to Alastor. "You should head back to the station Al. I don't want you being late."
"Mmm you're right cher, my heart bleeds I have to leave you though." The radio host swoons dramatically leaning over the desk in a fainting manner.
"As does mine, my love." Heart says as she leans over to him and gives him a quick kiss. "I'll see you later tonight though."
He's stunned when she kissed him then blinked. He then got a burst of energy and shot up to his feet again as if he got a shot of adrenaline. "Yes, mon cher! Yes! Haha! Well, I must be off!" He chirped, pecking her on the cheek and zipped out the door with his lunchbox in hand.
Heart gave him a chuckle as she watched the man walk out of the door. She gave a happy sigh, "I don't know where he gets all that energy from."
"Seems to me it's you sugarplum! He has a spring in his step more than usual I've noticed when he even so much as thinks about little old you." Kristen teased her friend.
Heart covered her mouth with a chuckle. "I don't know about that. I guess it's possible. I know he seems to give me energy too."
Kristen gave a giggle back and soon it was Rosie's turn to go back to the boutique she bid her girl farewell and the two friends were now alone again to re-open the library for the other half of the workday.
