And it continues with another time jump.

There will only be three more chapters to come and then we'll be done with the sequel and start the Cuphead Show adaptation.

If there are any ideas that I can use in the show adaptation, feel free to suggest them to me.

And honestly I'm surprised that this story has over 400 reviews here. I don't think I've seen that many reviews in one story. Thanks again for that.

June 14 is not only Alicia's and Blood's birthday but also mine.

To explain the devil's mark thing again. It is a kind of protective spell that shocks anyone who passes Alicia should she feel angry or uncomfortable.

This will play a big role in the show adaptation and can be thought of as the sweater Cuphead wears. So that everyone is so electrically shocked.

In the next chapter, Dolly appears and the confrontation with the devil. The devil wants to have a serious talk with her.

Until then!

June 14

Tired, Alicia sat in her seat and listened to Ms. Ross. It was 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Most of the halls were already pitch black. Besides the room Alicia was sitting in, there were two other rooms with lights on. "Genres play a big role not only in movies but also in animation" said Ms. Ross as she and writes several genres on the board. Yes, animation doesn't always have to mean it's for kids. Many animated series look cute and cuddly but are completely the opposite.

"Can someone tell me what constitutes a genre?" asked Ms. Ross. Bored, Alicia couldn't help but think of her husband. She missed him. So much so that she began to draw in her notebook in boredom. It was a drawing of the devil from Cuphead smiling at her. How much I miss you "No one? That's too bad, because that's what's on the final exam," Ms. Ross said as she wrote on the board what constitutes a genre. All students write it off just like Alicia. But suddenly Alicia noticed something. The drawing of the devil began to move. She rubbed her eyes and looked at the drawing again. It beckoned to her and gave her an air kiss. "What the..." Before she could do anything, the devil wrote down the rest for her with his trident so she could focus on him.

She looked at him and realized that he missed her too. Who could blame him. They had not seen each other for three months. She could understand that he missed her. Just like the "tattoo" that has already grown up to her elbows or that her hair had also changed. They were now completely black and no longer brown. Soos and Jazz liked the tattoo and the hair color. "It suits you more" said Jazz. "All that's missing is a-" "No piercing!" said Alicia as she interrupted Soos.

She was so pleased with her appearance. Even if it was not a tattoo but the devil's mark. It is actually just a kind of protection spell that the devil had conjured on her so that no one else goes to her. A few male students have already felt the one or other shock that came through the tattoo. It was more of an electric shock. Probably it would be different in the cartoon world than in her world. Anyway, it works and that pleased Alicia very much. The bell went on and the class was over. All the students packed up their things and went out of the hall. The cafeteria had been closed for hours. But Alicia was still hungry. Most of the stores had already closed, but she still had something to eat at home. "Ms. Powell..." confused, Alicia turned around and saw Ms. Ross handing her a gift. "Happy birthday" she said and walked past her to the exit of the university.

Alicia had not forgotten that today was her birthday. Jazz and Soos had already given her presents. She had them in her backpack. She also put the gift in her backpack before she left the university building. The parking lot became emptier and emptier as more students and faculty drove out of it. Alicia got in her car and drove to her apartment. Someone was looking out of the window in her apartment. It was not a burglar or any family member. Neither were Jazz and Soos.

Alicia did not notice who was watching her from her apartment. It was also dark in her apartment. No wonder it was already late. She went upstairs to her apartment door. Arrived in her apartment, she left her backpack in the kitchen while she only now noticed that someone was in her apartment. Slowly she looked around her apartment before going to her bedroom. There she saw nothing either. This confused her. "Hmm..." she was about to turn around when suddenly someone stood behind her. She felt fur and looked up where she was greeted by two yellow eyes. It was the devil.

Her face that previously showed boredom and fatigue is now radiant with joy. She was glad that he and she were together again. He caressed her cheeks before lifting her up with his arms. "You don't know how much I missed you my love" said the devil as he continued to look at her. Both could not see each other. Just as she could not go into the book. The university had Alicia completely on the hook. Nor did the devil want to visit her when she had to study. "I missed you a lot too" she said, snuggling into his fur before he lay on her bed with her. He laid sideways next to her and looked at her. The mark on her arm grew. And it was working, he knew.

She felt comfortable with him by her side and it showed. She snuggled into his fur and stroked it. His tail wagged again and he hugged her. "I missed this so much" he said and curled around her. He lifted her chin and kissed her. Suddenly she felt something in her arms. She looked down and saw a gift lying in her arms. It was wrapped in black wrapping paper with white bows. "Open it" whispered the devil in her ear. She did so and saw a necklace that had a wolf's head as well as a phoenix and wyvern's head.

She took the necklace and was about to put it on before the devil did. She liked the necklace very much and thanked her husband. "For you always my love" he said and now lay on his back while she lay on his belly again. He stroked her hair and began to kiss her. She already suspected that the kiss lasted longer than the last one. He kissed her for almost 5 minutes before he lay down and his heart pounded strongly again. She felt it and knew that he was happy. "Let me guess, you missed that too?" she asked him while he nodded.

"I miss you every second you are not with me my love" said the devil as he looked at her again and caressed her cheek with his index finger. She also missed the way he always caressed her cheek. His tail wagged even more than before. She had to giggle again when she saw that. "And what do you want to do?" the devil asked her. Alicia thought.

They both sat on the couch in the living room watching Alicia's favorite movie. Balto. She leaned against his belly while holding the bowl of popcorn in her hands. With the tip of his devil's tail, he grabbed two popcorns and ate them. Alicia had to smile when she saw this while she continued to eat her popcorn normally. "Balto? What are you, nuts?" Kaltag asked Balto as he stood between him and Nikki at the starting line. The race was to decide which dogs would be in the sled team that would bring the medicine. Of course, Alicia knew that Steele would use his team and kick Balto out because he is half wolf.

Of course, the devil had to growl when he saw Steele and how he handled Balto. That Steele reminded him of Silk was clear. Both resembled each other very much. And not only from the appearance but also from the behavior. But he didn't have to worry that Silk would show up and attack Alicia. She was out of the picture and that reassured him. Alicia snuggled into him while the devil took the bowl away to cuddle with her.

Both ignored the movie and enjoyed their time together. The king of Inkwell Hell was more than happy to see her again. Every thread in his body tickled and he was happy that she was next to him. The drawing with the other devil had worried him. But as Alicia had told him several times. She remained faithful only to him and no other. "No matter how charming the other devil may be, I will always be faithful to you," she said before the devil kissed her again with a wagging tail.

This made him even happier than before. She remained faithful to him. And not because she was afraid of his anger but because only he respected her and gave her space. All others would not have given her that. Raul tied her up with his slime, King Dice wanted to enchant her with a love potion, Saltbaker had several photos of her and the Rook would rather have her as a trophy than have her refuse him. The former debtors had a good contact with her. Dolly was also the reason for this. But just like them, she could make friends with anyone. Even Wally, who rarely came out of his birdhouse, was happy when she visited him.

The same was true for the Imps and Demons who were always happy when she was back. For the most part, she had a good relationship with the casino employees. Only a few avoided her when she was in the casino. But that was rather rare. She either stayed in Inkwell Hell or was out in the islands with the two boys. No matter how many times she was in the book there was always something new that she and the two brothers had never seen before. Be it a clearing in the forest, an old ruin or a good fishing spot. She also enjoyed visiting her godmothers. Be it Bon Bon's Sugar Land, Hilda's Observatory, Sally's Theater or the underwater world of Cala Maria. She was welcome everywhere.

She also helped many of the former debtors. But until now, no one has helped her or really thanked her. She did so much and has not received anything in return. That was not fair. But how to thank her none of the former debtors knew. Even her godmothers did not know. But the devil didn't care for the time being. He had her in his arms in which she snuggled and that was enough for him. But you noticed that she also missed him very much. She was much more relaxed than usual. This was due to the university and the stress of learning but also to another thing.

She usually ignored her birthday. She celebrated it reluctantly or not at all. And the reason was again her parents. Both of them were working and sometimes even forgot their daughter's birthday. Only John thought about it and gave her a little something. But the devil was furious about it. So much so that he would like to have a conversation with Dolly to tell her that she is not a great mother. He knew that she was different before. She was cheerful and open-minded. The complete opposite of Alicia. But what he had heard from Alicia shocked him very much. Just like the sled dogs who looked down and saw how Balto managed to bring the medicine back up to the others.

Just like Balto, so was Alicia. She never gave up and fought against everything that came her way. Even if she put herself in danger. This fascinated him very much. But now she lay with her head on his chest and fell asleep peacefully. Awww my little one feels good. He couldn't help it and stroked her cheek while she slept on. Only when Star started to sneeze she woke up. She was a bit sleepy but that didn't bother the devil. He slowly ran his claws through her black hair before stroking her behind her ears again. Even if she didn't have a tail like he did, she still had to wag it.

"I guess you like that, my darling," he said. She nodded and rubbed her head into his fur. That in turn pleased him very much. His fur was also very fluffy and warm. She would prefer to stay here, but the university had priority. Unfortunately. "Is something wrong?" the devil asked her as he looked down. She didn't want to say it, but lying to him wouldn't help either. "It's just that I had to learn and not to cuddle with you or to watch movies" she said with a sad look. The devil already suspected it and grabbed her head with both hands while he said something in an unknown language.

Both eyes began to glow white. The movie stopped while the lights in the living room, hallway and kitchen began to flicker. Loose papers flew away in the sudden wind that appeared before everything returned to normal. The lights went out, the wind was gone and the film started again. Also, Alicia's and the devil's eyes were back to normal. "Woah what the heck was that?" she asked him. The devil smirked. "Open your book" he said as one of her textbooks came flying at him. "Can you tell me what famous cartoonists there are?". Like a pistol, she fired one answer after another that the devil asked her.

"So you cast a spell on me?" she asked him. "Not quite, I just gave you the ability to get the answers faster than usual," he explained. But she still had to write some things down. But when she took her writing pad it was already written full with the genre topic. "What the...". He smiled at her while she turned to face him. It was obvious that he wanted to spend more time with her than usual. After three months she could understand it. And it was her birthday so she should relax. The summer semester will be over soon anyway and then she just has to get through the winter semester.

So she put the book and the writing pad away while she watched the rest of the movie with him. The evening went quite normally. She quickly fell asleep in his arms. He was also about to doze off. But he went with her in his arms to her bedroom where they both lay down and slowly fell asleep. The next day Alicia woke up and realized that she was no longer in her apartment with the devil. She was back in the book in the devil's bedchamber. Slowly she got up and tried not to wake the devil who was still fast asleep.

She sat next to him on his bed and looked at him until she suddenly noticed something. Fawkes was not with them and was not lying in the fire bowl above the bed where he normally lay. "Hmm where could he be?" she wondered and stood up. The balcony door was open. Did he fly out while we were sleeping? She walked over to the balcony and looked down. Unfortunately, she saw nothing of the Phoenix Demon until something large flew toward her at breakneck speed. Startled, she went backwards and did not notice that she crashed into the bed and landed on the devil, who woke up and was confused. "What's wrong Alicia, why are you shaking?" he asked her. "Something is coming!" she said as she hid behind him. He looked at her confused until he looked from her to the balcony where something big was standing.

"It's only Fawkes" said the devil when he realized what it was. What Fawkes? She looks out from behind him. "But Fawkes is smaller than the two of us, why would he-" she stopped talking when she saw the phoenix's head peeking out of the balcony door and cawing. He was clearly bigger than her and the devil. "Fawkes is that you?" she asked the phoenix as she slowly approached him. He beeped as she approached him. He only did that when he hadn't seen her for a long time. Like now. She moved closer and held out her hand as Fawkes lifted his head so that her hand touched his head. It was like the scene with Hiccup and Toothless from How to train your Dragon. Fawkes purred and Alicia was reassured. But still she wondered one thing. "Why is he so big?".

The last time he was not so big that she could ride on him. The devil already suspected that she would ask him that and went to the two. "Because he's full grown now," he said, stroking her cheek as she looked from Fawkes to him. Buckbeak probably fits more as a name now since Fawkes was never that big. But she didn't want to rename him. Before she could do or say anything Fawkes grabbed her by the collar and lifted her up onto his back. "Okay, I wasn't expecting that," she said as she looked at the devil. "Well he would like to fly with you" he said. Yep Fawkes liked to fly with his master. No matter where she was he followed her as far as he could. She also let him ride on her back when he was out of breath. Only this time he wanted to carry her on his back.

She didn't say no to that and gave him a nod as a sign that he could fly off. He beeped again and flew off while the devil watched them from the balcony. He didn't have to worry because Fawkes was one of his strongest demons. He knew that because he had trained him himself while Alicia, his queen, was away. "Um your majesty" the devil turns around where a purple Imp was standing who wanted to talk to him. He knew what it was about and disappeared with the Imp in a cloud of smoke.

While the devil disappeared with the Imp, Alicia enjoyed the flight with Fawkes very much. The phoenix purred several times and was more than happy that his master was back. "Tell me, Fawkes, can you do some tricks like I showed you?" she asked him. The phoenix remembered and did a kind of barrel roll. He folded his wings for a short moment while he turned to fly again normally with outstretched wings.

She held on tight while he did this trick so she wouldn't fall off. The flight remained quite normal. There were no problems and that pleased her very much. But she wanted to fly back again, which Fawkes suspected. Therefore he flew back. As before, he landed on the balcony while lowering her down. She stroked his cheeks, making the phoenix purr even more. "The flight was nice" she said while the phoenix nudged her to continue stroking his cheek. But when the door to the hallway opened, they both looked to see who had just come in. It was the devil who had been waiting for them. Or so it looked. Alicia stopped petting Fawkes as he flew away, leaving the two alone.

"Are you coming my love?" he asked her. "Why?" she asked him as he reached out and pulled her to him with his outstretched tail. He grinned again meaning he had something in mind for her. "The others are waiting for you" How the others are waiting for me? "What do you mean the others?" she asked him. But he didn't answer her question this time but went with her out of the bedroom. Now she was even more confused and preferred not to be pushed by him. But he was physically stronger than her. Again, one thing I can only envy. She hated that, but unfortunately she couldn't change it because the door to the throne room was right in front of her and he opened it with a bright light that blinded Alicia.

She held an arm in front of her eyes while she slowly got used to the bright light and now realized what was in the room that was actually the throne room. But it had been redecorated. Or to describe it better, both thrones were gone, the pedestals with the statues and the murals were also gone. Instead, the room was decorated like a dance ball. A buffet was at the edge while in the center of the hall was a large dance floor in the style of the 1930s, of course.

Are we having a dance ball or why does it look like it was made especially for... She guessed who the ball was for. For her. But there was one thing she wondered anyway. Who is invited? She wanted to hope that the two brothers would come as well as some of the former debtors and their godmothers. Or did the devil have others on the guest list.

"Do you like it?" the devil asked her. She nodded and was delighted by the surprise. Even if she would have expected something different. "Good, the guests are already waiting" Wait, what do you mean with the guests are already waiting?! She looked down at herself and realized that she was not dressed appropriately. She was still wearing the T-shirt with the university logo, her black shorts and shoes with white socks. I couldn't dress more appropriately than usual, could I? But the devil would not be the devil if he had not already thought ahead. He snapped his fingers and she was already wearing matching clothes for the ball. And how much she hated it too. She was wearing a dress again. It was the same one she wore to the wedding. Only the spikes were more pointed and longer. Is that normal? She hoped not.

He seems to like her looks very much. His grin was even wider than before. But she wanted him to be neatly dressed as well. It should only be fair. So she used her power to dress him appropriately. He now wore a tailcoat similar to King Dice's only in black with a gray vest and white tie instead of a bow tie. He did not wear trousers. "Fair is fair" she said as she walked past him, lifting her dress slightly to avoid stepping on it. I really wonder how Bon Bon can run around in that without falling down? Hilda and Sally didn't wear dresses that went down to the floor and covered their legs and feet. And Cala Maria didn't even have legs.

The devil followed her and led her outside where Alicia saw a large crowd of people. One look was enough to see that it was the former debtors, the guardians of the ingredients, Saltbaker and the two brothers with Chalice who were apparently waiting to go inside to the ball. She was confused and already wanted to ask why the devil had prepared all this. But he took over for her and whispered in her ear. "Because you deserve a real birthday party my love". She hadn't had a real birthday party in years. The last real birthday party was before the move and before the rest of the family members moved further away from them.

But she hadn't told him anything about it unless he was already going back in her memories while she was asleep. It was not the first time that he did something like that. Even when she was in her world, he managed to get into her dream world however he could. So much so that I wake up at night wishing he was lying next to me. She has had that many times in the last three months that she wished he was lying next to her. Even though she sometimes had the feeling that he was watching her from the darkness.

Before she could say anything or anything like that, they were both gone again in a puff of smoke. She looked around as the cloud of smoke disappeared and in front of the two stood the guests who were all already waiting and talking. Skye was talking to Bon Bon and the other godmothers while she was the first to notice that Alicia and the devil were standing in front of them. "Ah there is our birthday girl" said Skye. Everyone turned around immediately. Um no thanks! Alicia hid behind her husband as everyone stared at her. The devil noticed that she didn't like it and had to smile. He couldn't help it and moved to the side while Alicia noticed that the others were staring at her again. She wanted to hide behind her husband again, but he moved, forcing her to look at her guests.

She gave him an annoyed expression while the devil just chuckeld. He liked to tease her a bit. "Come on your guests are waiting for you to let them in" said the devil. She looked at him and then at the guests who were already waiting for her. Oh man. Even though she didn't like it, she opened the gate in front of which the guests were waiting. As she had already guessed, most of them embraced and greeted her right away. She was glad that the two brothers were there.

The celebration went quite normally so far. After she was hugged and congratulated by almost everyone, the guests went to the ball and enjoyed themselves by enjoying the food or dancing. Alicia, on the other hand, stayed away from all that and wanted to stay on the sidelines rather than be the center of attention. That was just the way she was. The music that played was different. From classical 30s music ran also music from the 80s and 90s. Just as Minnie the Moocher finished playing, a song came on that Alicia hadn't heard in a long time.

"May I ask for the dance?" someone next to her asked. She was confused because Alicia didn't see anyone until she looked down where Cuphead was reaching for her hand. She thought it was kind of cute when she looked closer at his clothes. He wore a small red bow tie and a black suit with matching red pants. His shoes were the same. In general he looked like a little gentleman. "You're welcome!" said Alicia as she tried not to giggle. Despite the size difference, both could dance well while the song What a Feeling by Irene Cara played in the background.

Now I hear the music
Close my eyes, I am rhythm
In a flash, it takes hold of my heart

What a feeling
Being's believin'
I can have it all, now I'm dancing for my life

Take your passion
And make it happen
Pictures come alive
You can dance right through your life
What a feeling

What a feeling (I am music now)
Being's believin' (I am rhythm now)
Pictures come alive
You can dance right through your life

What a feeling (I can really have it all)
What a feeling (pictures come alive when I call)
I can have it all (I can really have it all)
Have it all (pictures come alive when I call)
(Call, call, call, call)

I can have it all (being's believin')
Being's believin' (take your passion)

Make it happen
(What a feeling)
What a feeling

She had no problems dancing with Cuphead and didn't even notice how everyone was staring at her. It looked funny how she danced with the older brother. Both didn't hold hands but danced like there was no tomorrow. This also infected the others who immediately began to dance without having to hold on to any movements. The celebration went on without problems so far. Alicia, despite the fact that she is 25 years old, still felt like she was 18 years old. But Cuphead did not mind that she was so old. The devil was more than a thousand years old and could still dance as well as a young pike.

But every party has an end just like this birthday party. Most of the guests disappeared except for Cuphead, Mugman, Chalice and Elder Kettle. They stayed to keep Alicia company. "And have you found a place for Chalice to settle down yet?" asked Alicia curiously. She knew that Chalice was sleeping in the guest room while the two boys and Elder Kettle were still looking for a suitable place. Saltbaker offered her to stay with him. But Chalice was not sure yet.

It wasn't long before the four also left the party, leaving Alicia alone with the devil. He wrapped his tail around her waist while pulling her to him and looking deep into her eyes. "Now that it's just us, why don't we..." before he could finish his sentence, they both disappeared and were back in the sleeping quarters. The devil lay over her and stared at her with his seductive yellow eyes while he slowly approached her lips and passionately kissed and embraced her.

He did not want to let her go again but to have her with him. His heart beat stronger the more he felt how she drove through his fur with her hand and stroked it. That he liked it was seen by his tail wagging. But also Alicia liked it very much. Nothing could spoil the mood until suddenly her smartphone started to ring. "Oh man seriously?" she said annoyed as she reached for it and was startled. "Is something wrong my dearest?" the devil asked her when he saw her startled face. It wasn't her brother who was calling her. No, it was her mother.

She pushed up the green icon to start the call and put the smartphone on speaker so that the devil could hear. "Hey Alicia my dear birthday girl how are you?" asked a slightly older voice on the phone. But the devil recognized the voice. It was Dorothy Powell.
