The next day, Kazuto was busy trying to level up some more and maybe get some good loot considering he lost all his previous loot as this new game didn't like it. He cut a few in half, but another group tried to flank him before a loud roar rang out. Kazuto looked to identify the noise and saw the slayer riding his own dragon as it flew right through the other dragons. It rammed right through them, kill some it directly hit and the others off balance. The doom marine took this as an advantage and shot his heavy cannon with the macro missiles at them, shredding and blowing them up before the shattered into glass like shards. One last dragon tried flying away but Leafa then killed it with one of her spells. Shortly after, the unmistakable sound of their wings about to disappear sounds in the duo fairies ears.
"We should probably land down there" Leafa says as she points towards a small clearing in the woods.
With that the duo flew down into the clearing, letting their wings disappear. Leafa stretches when kazuto rolls his shoulder as it was a bit sore. They then hear a slight whistle and then a loud thud behind them and look. They both see the slayer in a small dust cloud, standing there in all his green and wrathful glory.
"Must you always make an entrance, slayer?" Leafa asked.
The doom marine only shrugs as he looks at them. Even if he was on their side, he still looks menacing to Leafa, but also happy at the same time. She then turned her attention to a distant mountain range.
"Looks like we won't be flying for a while, the mountains are above the flight limit. The only way to get past is to go through a tunnel. I've heard it's the toughest part of the trip between here and the silf territory." Leafa stated.
"Guess we walk. These caves, are they long?" Kirito asked." Pretty long, yeah. There's a mining town there, it's neutral territory so we should be able to rest there. That reminds me, are you good for time or do you have to go?" Leafa asked. Kirito responded with a "yeah" and she said they were gonna rotate. This confused kazuto a bit but Leafa explained it and said players take turns logging out for a bit. She knew that the slayer was probably more than capable to handle the job, she just doesn't know him and thus trust him. "Sounds good, ladies first" kazuto replied.
The slayer gave a thumbs up before she left for her twenty minute break. After that twenty minutes, she then came back, 'waking up' to see kazuto sucking on a piece of something that looks like a small sugar cane.
"What is that?" Leafa asked. "i don't know, but an npc said you could only get them at his stand" kazuto said.
He tossed her the cane like treat to her and she stared at it for a bit and sucked on it. Immediately, she was hit with an extremely spicy sensation in her mouth and she took it out of her mouth. After a short little complaint about the little trick, Kirito finally got his turn and logged out. She then flew and sat next to him and looked at him for a bit. Then she saw his pocket move and looked, seeing Yui crawling out. This startled the blond fairy as she stumbled backwards a bit.
"You can move even when your master is logged out?!" Leafa exclaimed in surprise. "Of course I can, I am my own person after all, besides he's not my master, he's my daddy." Yui said. "Yeah, about that...why do you call him daddy? Did he set you that way or something?" Leafa asked. "No, he saved me and said i was his daughter, so that makes him my daddy" the little npc girl said. "I see. Do you like him?" Leafa asked. "I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by 'like'" Yui said. "Huh? Are you serious? It means you want to be near him all the time, and you get excited when you are" Leafa said as she taps her cheek with a slight blush. She then gets the image of kazuto in her mind and goes red with a Yelp and shakes her head. "Is something wrong?" Yui asked. "Nothing, it's nothing!." Leafa said with a red face, looking like a tomato. "What's nothing?" The black swordsman asked.
With that, Leafa jumped in surprise. "Did something happen while I was gone?" Kirito asked, unknowing of the conversation between the blonde and the little girl. "Welcome back, Leafa was just explaining to me when someone likes-" she says before getting cut off by Leafa. "No no, I said it's nothing!" Leafa said, flustered. "Well, y-you weren't gone for very long, I hope you had something to eat" Leafa said, trying to change the topic. "Yeah, my family left something for me so I should be good." Kirito responded.
"Well, we better get going then." Leafa said as she got up. "Yeah. Hm" kazuto responded but then felt something off. "Is something wrong?" Leafa asked. "I don't know, I feel like someone's watching us. Yui, is there any players nearby?" Kazuto asks. Yui emerged from his pocket and responded,"no, I don't sense any players nearby."
"Hmm, could be something put a tracer on us" Leafa said. "Tracer? What's that?" Kirito asks. Leafa then explained what a tracer is and how it worked. "Meh, might just be my imagination, let's get going" Kirito said. "Yep, wait where's the slayer?" Leafa asked. And as if on cue, a deafening roar of his dragon sounds as they look up and see him riding his dragon. They both smile and the slayer gives a thumbs up as they all flew off to continue their journey. Unbeknownst to the, and even they slayer because of their stupid magic, a bat watched them with glowing red eyes and a bunch of red robed players emerged from the shadows.
Later, Kirito and Leafa, plus the slayer find themselves in a dark cave. Kirito did a spell to help them see in the dark while the slayer used his night vision mode on his helmet. "Wow, everything seems so much brighter now" Leafa says. Then Leafa starts teasing kazuto about his magic and how it couldn't be effective in combat. In response he just groans a bit as he follows her down the now not so dark tunnels. The slayer follows behind, listening for any sound or looking for anything that may look out of place. As kazuto followed, he was trying to practice his magic. He had trouble as it was almost trying to learn a different language. Leafa just laughed a bit at his complaining while the slayer remained on guard. Then Leafa gets a message and checks it. "Hmm, I got a message from recon. It's says 'I was right, be careful, S" she read, a bit confused. "What does that-oh..." Leafa realized. "what l, what is it?" Kazuto asked.
"Multiple players identified headed our way, twelve in total, mainly mages." Vega said. "Your kidding" Leafa said, more annoyed than worried. "I do not 'kid' miss Leafa" Vega responded. She just sighs.
"Well, we better take cover, I have a bad feeling about this." Leafa said. "What, where?" Kirito asked. "Hah, I'll handle that" Leafa said with a smirk. Then they heard the click of the slayer loading his super shotgun and both looked. "I'm sorry mister slayer, but we can risk the cave collapsing on us" Leafa said. She then drags them into a space in the wall of the cave and casts and illusion spell to make it look like there was no space there. Shortly after, Kirito sees a red flash. "What's that, it like a bat but with red glowing eyes" Kirito says. Leafa then looks and sees it, a flash of red in the darkness and gasped a bit. She then runs out and looks at the bat. "Hey, why'd you break our cover?" Kazuto asked. "Because that's a high level tracer" she said as she readies up a spell. Before she could finish, the slayer pulls out a blue glowing pistol and shoots it with precision. "Good thing we have you" Kirito said as he watched him shoot the bat. "Yeah, but let's hurry and get moving" Leafa said as she starts running. "Hey, can't we just hide behind one of your spells again?" Kirito asked as he ran with her, the slayer following in pursuit. "It had us pegged so it be of no use, besides it's a fire element familiar. That can only mean one thing" Leafa said. "Salamanders" Kirito said. "Yes, but what is a party of salamanders doing way down here?" Leafa asked to no one in particular. As they ran, they were in a bridge leading to the town they were headed. "Look, seems like we're gonna get away" Kirito said, but it was said too soon as a light passed over their heads and into the ground in front of the town, creating a giant stone wall. Kirito and the slayer jumped up to try and break it but the only damage done was from the slayer as he made a crack in it. They both fell, the slayer landing on his feet and Kirito in his back, but as soon as they looked behind them, a group of salamanders was rushing towards them.
"Looks like we have to fight" Kirito said. "Looks like it" Leafa said. "Don't take this the wrong way, but stay behind and heal me so I can focus and fight more without the worry of my health. But with the slayer I doubt that's gonna be a problem." He said and smirked a bit at the end. Leafa nodded and jumped back. They both charged the wall of red. Kirito was the first to arrive as the slayer stood behind to see how Kirito would do. He tried to swing his sword but the salamanders with shields blocked it and some mages from behind used a healing spell on them. Then immediately they used fireballs on him. "Kirito!" Leafa yelled, worried. Then they saw him kneeling, badly hurt, so then Leafa used a healing spell on him. That was enough, the slayer ran past the black swordsman and through the fire. He went up and punched the shield of on salamander, going through both shield and player. He ripped his arm out as the player died and turned to the next, grabbing his shield and ripping it from their grip. He then beat the salamander with it until he died. He turned around and sliced another in half before stomping on his head as the upper half fell to the ground. He turned towards the mages and took out his ballista and charged up a destroyer blade. The mages tried to chant a spell but were cut in half from the red energy from the ballista. That alone killed six, the rest lost all moral and tried to run, but the slayer ran at them, chainsaw in hand and sawed one in half. After that one died, he took out his plasma gun, microwave mod attached, and used it against a player as he screamed in pain before exploding, killing his buddy when he did. All twelve died and he turned around to see the gaping jaws and wide eyes of both Kirito and Leafa. He grinned under his helmet and gave a thumbs up. The stone wall then dissipated and he walked towards the open gates and past the shocked teens. That wasn't even a warmup to the slayer.
He really can't wait till he get to mop the floor with this next evil developer... end of chapter.

I'm sorry it took me so long to come out with this chapter. I was busy writing a few chapters of my other fanfic "god of the summons" which I might rename soon plus I wanted to take a break.
