(Philia Speaking) When are we united heart and soul? What does it take to reach that level of bond? Does it have to be something grand or drastic? Or can it take a few small steps to reach that point? And how long does one take to reach that? Years? Months? Weeks? Days? Maybe even less. Whether it takes a long time, or a short period of time, if we're able to create such strong ties, then not even the strongest or sharpest can destroy such bonds.
Last time, Sora ended up fighting Riku again, once they discovered that not only did they have the same memories, but even held the same exact lucky charm given by Naminé. Sora managed to beat Riku, who accidentally dropped his charm, revealing it to be a World card. Donald and Goofy were getting more and more concerned about what was going on, causing Sora to get angry and leave them behind.
This ended up being a mistake, as the replica of Philia appeared and almost killed Donald and Goofy. However, I came and saved them. I wasn't gonna let her take away my friends. In the end, we defeated her, with me acknowledging the fact that all she was was a clone who was given false memories of being a murderer, when she had never killed a single person in her life. Dark Philia decided to take this and go and try to kill Sora. We pursued her, and ended up meeting the owner of the castle, Marluxia, who called me out on a one-on-one battle against him, as I was in the way of them molding Sora into their puppet.
Meanwhile, Sora ventured through the illusion of his home, the Destiny Islands, where he reunited with Naminé. However, she ended up telling him the truth; that she really wasn't meant to be part of his, or anyone else's memories. She caused Sora to start to remember who were dearest to him; Me and Kairi, the latter he didn't remember the name of.
He left the world to catch up with Naminé, wanting to understand why we were so important, but Dark Riku intervened, calling out Sora for his messed-up memories, and fighting him to protect Naminé. Both he and I were struggling against our opponents. We need to find the strength to overcome our opponents!

Pride that shines within strong, unwilling emotions
Resist destiny!
(Sora and Philia stand at the crossroads in the middle of a grassy plains at night, facing opposite directions, with Philia expression that of sadness. Then the wind draws their attention, and they shielded their faces, only to open their eyes to see Castle Oblivion before them, with Donald and Goofy by their sides. The scene blurs out as the title of the series appears.)
In a place your voice doesn't reach
Is a twisted rule that no one taught me
(On a clear surface in a black environment, Sora stood there, the silhouettes of Donald, Goofy and Jiminy, then switched out for Riku and Mickey, then Kairi with her back turned. She turns around, and her appearance changes to Naminé. He closes his eyes, and falls backwards.)
When you were young, you had dreams you wished for with all your heart
The journey to find where they are has only just begun
(Sora transforms into Philia as she splashes through the surface, her eyes half-closed as pictures of their previous adventure scatter the area about her, mostly those of her and Sora together. She becomes wide awake, and struggles to swim back up to the surface, only for her leg to be grabbed by a hand. She looked down to see PHox, his grin hidden in the hood as he looked at her.)
I no longer need the time I mourned.
So break the wall of limitation, right now!
(In a white room, Naminé sat there with a somber expression, drawing pictures in a book. She looked up, and the scene shifts to one of the large doors within Castle Oblivion opening to let Sora, Philia and their friends through.)
Pride that shines within strong, unwilling emotions
(The pair were working together as they took out Heartless that got in their way as they charged through the castle hallways with their weapon, before pulling out cards that shined, allowing them to perform magic and Dagger Skills.)
Recollections that never change, no matter what pain we experience.
(At a closed door, silhouettes of Axel unleashing his blazing chakrams, to Larxene throwing her electrified daggers, to Vexen and his shield in front of him as he unleashed a pillar of ice, to Marluxia as he swiped his scythe, unleashing a scattering of flower petals.)
Embracing the vow I found as I broadened my sight
(Sora ends up fighting against Dark Riku as they clashed with one another, both determined to save Naminé, before pushing off of one another, skidding to a halt.)
Because this road I chose with unclouded eyes will connect me to you
(Sora, covered in injuries, glares at Riku, before he heard something, and turned around to see PHox standing there, his blood red cutting knife raised, as a screaming Philia was consumed in a cocoon of darkness, before revealing herself once more, in a similar attire to Dark Riku's, only blue instead of purple, and her eyes flashed deadly at Sora.)
Let your voice echo, resist destiny!
(Sora was shocked at Philia's change, but saw Donald and Goofy come to his side, assuring him to save her, and they charged forward to Dark Philia, Sora's hand raised out to her, though the scene shifts to regular Philia falling backwards into darkness.)
Proud of Myself. Aaah~
(Scene warps about, from Sora standing on the beach with Kairi, who is swapped with Naminé, to Philia clutching her heart, while the logo of the Laughing Coffin was behind her, then crying out in desperation to know what is the truth, to Riku rising up to reach out to the light, to the light showing a silhouette of King Mickey, to the shadow of DiZ in a dark room, finishing Naminé closing the drawing book, placing it on a small white table before her, showing a crude picture of Philia and Sora standing together, their hands held as they stared up at Castle Oblivion. Naminé's shadow over the book moves aside as she walks away, ending the scene)
Illusion Destiny Islands
On the shorelines of the island, Dark Philia looked out to the open ocean, glaring in a frustrated manner. Philia's words to her before really got under her skin, and she had enough of it.
"I'll prove to her... I'll prove to everyone here." she told herself, "My choice to kill, and my choice to follow the memories given to me, even if they were given by someone else, makes me stronger. Far stronger than her. I will prove that by ending the person who she is close to!"
"You're not allowed to do that, you know." Said a familiar voice. She looked about, and saw a black portal open up, revealing Axel to come out. "Sora's not allowed to be killed." Axel informed her, "He does have ties to the Organization, even if he has no clue about it."
Dark Philia turned to him, demanding, "Who asked you?! My master already had plans to go and kill him in the first place! That way, with him and those two fools gone, Philia will have no one to turn to. She will be his pawn."
"Ah, so that's what he was after." Axel understood, "He even plans to kill off Sora, the most important person in our plan." He then points to Dark Philia, asking, "So when that happens, what'll happen to you? Once he has Philia in his possession, he has no need for you, anymore."
"Don't you dare try to turn me against my master!" Philia spat, before looking down, glaring at the sand, "But you are correct. Compared to her, I'm just a clone, made to be the ideal person my master wants the other Philia to be. I am made of nothing of lies, just like she said..."
Axel paused for a moment, before saying, "You know, if you are looking for a way to be your true self, I can arrange something." Dark Philia looked up, surprised he would give such an offer. "Follow me, and I can set up a stage for you to prove you are more than just the false memories that make you." he finished, raising a hand to her.
Dark Philia paused, thinking about the offer. Finally, she decided to give it a shot, and walked towards Axel, who created a portal, and the two of them vanished within.
Philia
Back where things were, Philia was panting, struggling to stay up as she glared at Marluxia. She charged at Marluxia, who send crescent waves from his scythe back at her. She dodged around them, before creating the Thunder Cross sleight. The attack connected, but Marluxia was able to endure, before sending tornados with rose petals within at Philia. She got caught in them and was sent skyward, damaged by the attack, before crashing to the ground hard.
"Can't you see this is pointless?" Marluxia asked, pulling back his scythe, "At least disappear with dignity."
Philia used a Cure card to heal herself, getting herself onto her feet again, shaking a bit. However, with a fist in one hand and the butt of her dagger in the other, she struck her thighs, dismissing her shaking, but felt the pain of the blunt metal on one of her thighs. Marluxia cocked an eyebrow as she straightened herself up. She then looked at her free hand, seeing the villainous guild mark on her hand, which had been cut by her own dagger. That vow she made to PHox, not to mention the please from Naminé echoed in her mind. She suddenly felt her heart pound hard, and she placed a hand on it. It was as if Sora was suddenly calling out to her. He needed her again.
Philia glared at Marluxia, saying, "I've already made it clear to you what my answer is. Sora is in major trouble because you guys messed him and my friends up. Your GOONS ended up trying to separate my friends and I apart. But you can never break the bond we formed that easily. We've come too far together to stop now!"
"If that's what your heart is telling you, then I will have to finish you once and for all." Marluxia responded, placing one foot forward, "It was fun watching you struggle, Philia. I'll have to apologize to PHox for shattering what he worked so hard to try and obtain." He launched himself at Philia, who instinctively pulled back her dagger, her other hand grabbing the handle with it, and held it like Sora held his Keyblade.
Suddenly, there was a shining light from Philia's heart, blinding both Marluxia and Philia. The Organization leader froze as he stopped his attack, and barely could make out Philia's shadow in the light. Her dagger suddenly glowed and transformed into a weapon he didn't expect her to use. She twirled it, and instantly zoomed past the pink-haired man, unleashing a Zantetsuken. The attack struck Marluxia hard, and he fell to one knee.
Philia's weapon suddenly reverted to her dagger as she regained herself, before looking at her weapon. "What... was that?" she asked, "Did I...?"
She heard Marluxia grimace, and turn to see him struggling to get back up again, taking a lot of damage from the one attack. He looked to Philia, who looked back at him. She wanted to continue the fight, but knew better. She took this opportunity, and ran to the door, using her cards to create a Gravira spell on Marluxia, making him feel pressure until she fled inside the illusion world.
Marluxia stood up, gathering himself as he muttered, "It seems she hold some untold power within her. I did not expect that at all. PHox, is this what you were really seeking from her? If so... I am starting to gain a similar interest in her as you do." He opened up a portal, and vanished from sight.
Sora
Meanwhile, Sora and Riku's battle was in full swing, with Riku now at an even stronger form than what he was before. His attacks were just as fierce, but now he had even added a new attack to his arsenal; the sleight Dark Aura, sending him warping about with flying thrusts before bringing down his sword onto the ground, causing shockwaves of energy. It was near impossible to avoid, so Sora really had to plan out using his 0 card to counter those attacks.
"You have no right to be at her side! Not with a scrambled mind like yours!" Riku roared, before unleashing a Helm Split sleight, hammering the ground as he tried to strike Sora, who veered out of the way, before getting hit by the third attack and the shockwaves.
"I just need to get some answers! Naminé's the only one who can give them to me!" Sora shouted, unleashing the Blizzard Raid sleight, striking Riku and making fazing him for a moment. "Your memory is even more messed up than mine! I wont let you get in the way of getting to Naminé!"
Riku growled as he shook himself out of his state, sneering at Sora as he shouted, "Leave Naminé out of this! You don't need her to figure out how screwed up in the head you are!" He activated Dark Aura, shouting, "This will be over in a second!"
"No it won't!" Sora shouted, using a spare 0 card to break his attack, before performing the Holy sleight creating light magic that rained down from above, striking Riku multiple times, before he was finally defeated.
"This isn't... the end!" Riku grimaced, before he vanished. In his place, a card with Riku's face on it appeared, and he took it and and pocketed it.
There was a bright light, and Sora was back in the white room again. Naminé was standing next to the weakened Riku, who was breathing hard, barely able to move at the moment.
Sora rushed over to him, calling out, "Riku!"
Riku didn't respond at first, before growling, "Want some more?!" He shot a Dark Firaga point blank in his face, making him fly backwards, crashing onto his back.
"Sora!" Namine cried, seeing what happened. She looked to Riku, who smirked. He was only pretending to be weakened from the battle, but he still had a lot of energy left. He stood up and walked over to the beaten Sora, who looked up at him, muttering his name.
"Looks like I win." Riku told Sora.
"Riku, stop!" Naminé cried out.
He didn't as he raised his blade, declaring, "You are through!"
Namine looked desperate, raising her hand out before Riku could bring down the blade, shouting, "I said STOP!" There was a spark that shot out of Riku's head, followed by a haze. Suddenly, Riku had a blank expression, before he crumpled to the ground, completely motionless.
"Riku?" Sora asked, sitting up to see his friend completely motionless. Not even any sign of reaction from him. "Riku! RIKU!" Sora shouted to him. No response. He got to his knees as he looked up at Naminé, demanding, "What did you do? What did you do to him?" Naminé wasn't sure how to answer.
Suddenly, a black portal opened up, and out appeared Larxene, who had the answer at hand. "Broke his heart." she answered, "I'd say more like she smashed it, really."
"Smashed...his heart?" Sora echoed, looking from her to Riku, then to Naminé, who's body shook at what she had done. He stood up as he demanded, "Then...what's gonna... What's gonna happen to Riku?!"
Larxene cackled in laughter at this sway of emotions, before saying, "Oh, your so much fun to watch. If it's Riku you're worried about, then don't. Because Riku was never really here."
"What do you mean?" Sora asked.
"Do you really think I'm just gonna say it?" Larxene asked, "That's too easy! Oh, what to do?"
Sora was about to talk back, but then, something flashed into his mind, as he recalled Philia speaking to him, saying something before.
"That's because he's not the real Riku."
"It's like someone tried to recreate Riku, only make him a puppet for them."
"No way..." Sora muttered, realizing that Philia was right again about something, and it was something that was painful to admit, "That Riku... isn't the real one, is he?"
"Oh? Bravo! You actually figured it out!" Larxene applauded in a mocking manner, "You might be smarter than you look. Or rather, someone ELSE was smarter than you to let you know the truth. But poor little Sora was too stubborn to believe in anything she said. Now she broke because you left her behind."
"Stop making fun of me!" Sora shouted, running at her and swinging his Keyblade at her. She evaded, then kicked him so hard, he was sent flying right back where he started, the wind kicked out of him by the attack.
"Fine, then. Have it your way." she told him, "Since you are such a smart boy to figure out that much, let me fill you in on the details, and even give you a little more info. It might kill you, but I can live with that." She waved a hand to the 'Riku' on the ground as she explained, "That thing lying there is just a puppet that Vexen made as an experiment. No more than a toy."
Sora struggled to get up, but was too weakened to move as she continued, "It's laughable, really. It called you a fake, but IT was a fabrication all along."
"So... Philia was right." Sora muttered, now realizing her instincts were on the mark. He was deeply ashamed to not listen to her and her instincts.
"That's riiight~" Larxene answered, "Oh, and spoiler alert; the Philia that always fought you? Also a fake."
"Wh-What?!" Sora gasped, "What do you mean?"
"Isn't it obvious? Well, the trick was rather clever, to say the least. PHox tricked you to think that her resurfaced memories caused her to attack you. However, he merely swapped out Philia with a replica made to look like her. Just like this puppet, she was fake in every possible way." Sora gritted his teeth, realizing they fooled him with another thing.
"It was only finished recently. How could it remember anything?" Larxene continued, kneeling down and picking up the Replica Riku at the scruff of his neck, "You see? Its memories with Naminé were just planted, not real." She tossed him aside, who tumbled near the wall, completely lifeless as she finished, "Yup. That means, all this time, it's been picking fights with you over memories that were counterfeit, trumped up, and completely bogus. That puppet of Philia is the same, and her memories of a killer were completely fake, too."
The Organization member walked over to Naminé, who looked afraid. "Isn't that the truth, Naminé?" Larxene asked, wrapping her hand around her face, holding her at the cheeks, "Oh, so cute...but behind this little face, you do awful things." Namine turned her face away from her, averting eye contact.
"Naminé...?" Sora wondered what she meant by that.
"You're so stupid. Don't you get it now?" Larxene mocked Sora, turning back to him, "That's what Naminé's power is all about! She can enter, rearrange, and even create new memories of anything, even things that never happened. The girl you've been trying to protect all this time is really a manipulative witch who shackles people's hearts!"
Naminé looked ashamed, now that the truth was all out. Sora saw her expression, which was honest, and it hurt him hard. "Then...my memories...are all..." Sora understood.
"Oh, you do get it!" Larxene replied, "Lies, lies, all lies! Just Naminé's illusions, no more! Binding you in the chains of your own memories was central to our trap. Course, there was a major interference in our plan. I, of course, meant Philia. Naminé's powers had no effect on her. She couldn't eliminate or change her memories. The biggest tie to your past was with her. However, we took PHox's obsession of her to our advantage, and using the puppet, we slowly broke the ties you had with one another, eventually separating the two of you apart. After that, you were so easily duped. It felt like it was smooth sailing from then on out."
Her expression grew sour as Larxene irritably continued, "So close to it. We were almost there! This was our only chance to turn the Keyblade master into our puppet, but... That jerk Axel; he used Naminé to betray us!" With her last words, she summoned her daggers with electricity in between her fingers. Sora grimaced, knew those daggers were going to be aimed at him. "So now, I'm left with no choice but to eliminate you." she finished, walking towards Sora.
"You'll pay..." Sora growled, still not able to get up to his feet again.
Just then, Naminé ran forward and got in between Larxene and Sora, her arms spread out as she called out, "Don't!"
Larxene looked annoyed. "Huh? A little late for the witch to grow a conscience. Last time I checked, YOU'RE the one who fooled around with his memories, creating this mess."
Namine felt the guilt, but regained herself as she replied, "I know, but...!"
"I should tell you that I'm in an EXTREMELY foul mood." Larxene growled, her body sparking with magic electricity, "Thanks to you, all of our plans are ruined!" With that, she slapped Naminé hard, sending her crumpling to the ground next to the fake Riku.
"Naminé!" Sora shouted, witnessing what happened to her.
Larxene looked to Sora, asking, "What's this? Are you upset? And you don't actually know her!"
Sora was on his hands and knees, still in incredible pain. "Maybe not. But still...I made...a promise." he replied, getting to his knees.
"What?" Larxene questioned.
"A promise I made to Naminé to keep her safe." he continued, trying to get to his feet, "Maybe my memories are fake. But the promise is real to me." He fell to one knee again, but used one hand to try and push himself up again. He glared at Larxene as he finished, "That's why... I'll keep it."
Larxene looked stone-faced at Sora's speech, before responding, "Hmph! You're such an idiot. There is no promise and there never was! You're just delusional. Must you insist on playing the hero?" Sora looked surprised at her question, as she finished, "Whatever. If that's the way you want it... You're going down alone!"
She almost came down to stab Sora, but backed off as a flying shield was thrown at her. A Cure spell was casted over Sora as a familiar voice shouted, "Not if we can stop you!" Sora felt his energy being restored as he looked up and saw two characters pass by him, ready to protect him. It was none other than Donald and Goofy.
"Donald! Goofy! You found me!" Sora said, standing to his feet.
"Of course we did." Goofy replied with a smile, "We were worried about you!"
"And we promised!" Donald added, "We promised that we would protect you!" Sora looked pleasantly surprised and appreciative about his friends arriving.
"And don't worry about Philia. She's on her way, too." Goofy added.
"R-Really? She's coming?" Sora asked, amazed she would appear.
"Yeah. We found out there's a duplicate of her that was fooling us!" Donald informed, "She fighting the boss of the place, right now!"
Sora looked down, realizing that everyone he came into the castle with, including Philia, was now returning to his side. And from what he could tell, Philia still cared enough to come after him.
"You won't ever be alone!" Goofy declared, he and Donald glaring at Larxene, "It's always been the four of us, and we stick together..."
"And that's how it's going to stay!" Donald finished, waving his staff at their shared enemy.
Larxene smirked in an angry way as she replied, "Fine... Have it your way. More pain for you means more fun for me!" She crossed her arms in front of her, readying her throwing knives for battle.
There was a bright light, and Sora found himself facing Larxene on his own again, though feeling the connection he had with Donald and Goofy with him. He had an ignited confidence, and launched at Larxene. She threw her two sets of daggers at Sora, who he leapt over, and struck Larxene with his Keyblade. She quickly retaliated with a Thundara spell, striking Sora with raining bolts of lightning.
Sora recovered and used a Strike Raid sleight to strike Larxene, leaving her momentarily stunned. This left her wide open for a Sliding Dash sleight, followed by a couple more strikes, before getting countered by Larxene yet again, this time her setting up her own Sleight, Mega Volt, throwing daggers at the ground, before summoning lightning to rain down onto the areas, causing damage to fall upon Sora.
"Don't go dying too quickly! We're just getting started!" Larxene mocked Sora, before going in a melee dance of slashes with her daggers, only to get countered by Sora and a 0 card he had, using the Attack card to strike her, before combining a couple of Simba cards to unleash a roar at Larxene that stunned her. Sora then unleashed several strikes with his Keyblade, before she countered with an equal number Attack card, canceling them out.
Their fight was ruthless, with both sides angry at the other, so they were not giving any mercy. Larxene definitely had improved her relentless fighting style, especially when she used her sleights, from her Mega Volt, to her Teleport Rush, which had her strike from all over at Sora, to a new sleight she had in store; Blade Storm.
"How do you like this?!" she questioned, unleashing the new sleight, leaping up, and summoned multiple chains of electricity around the field, slowly moving about as Sora went and evaded the electricity that came at her. However, Sora got caught in one of the chains, and was paralyzed as he took damage as he was carried into the air, before crashing to the ground, stunned.
Larxene laughed as she mocked, "Aw, is the little baby unable to handle a little spark? Trust me, the fun is only just beginning!" She lunged forward and struck Sora with multiple strikes, followed by a kick. Sora tumbled, but got up to see Larxene back off, sending daggers at him, going, "You're through!"
"Not yet!" Sora shouted, countering her attack with three Cure Magic cards combined together, creating Curaga that broke her card and greatly healed himself from the damage he was just delivered. This irritated Larxene as Sora rushed at her, while she unleashed Thundara from above at Sora. He blocked it with an equal numbered card, grabbing Goofy's Friend Card. He then waited for the opportunity, dodging more daggers thrown, before seeing her attempt to unleash a Teleport Rush sleight. However, he unleashed the Lv. 3 Goofy Tornado, causing Goofy to spin around him for a long period of time, striking Larxene until she broke his attack with a 0 Dagger throw, which Sora got hit with.
Larxene unleashed a Mega Volt sleight, attempting to rain down on Sora with the attack, but Sora was ready. He had a 0 Fire card, which he used to counter the sleight. This left her wide open for Sora when he unleashed the Fatal Frame sleight, freezing Larxene in place, before unleashing multiple slashes together. Time continued, and she felt the collective attack come together.
"You won't get away with-!" Larxene growled, before noticing something; her deck was empty. She ran out of cards.
"Good think I recently filled mine up!" Sora noted, combining Simba with a couple Attack cards, and unleashed Shock Impact, doing one last strike onto her, defeating her once and for all.
"This can't be happening!" Larxene exclaimed as she fell, before vanishing from sight. In her place, a card with Larxene's face on it appeared, and he took it, pocketing the card.
There was a flash of light, and Sora and his friends found themselves facing the weakened Larxene, who was clutching her side, stumbling back from them. She growled as she said, "No... No! I refuse to lose to a bunch of losers!" She regained herself, and was ready to continue the fight.
Suddenly there was the sound of a stab from behind, and Larxene gasped, as did the trio of heroes. Someone came out of nowhere, and with the point from the stem of his cleaver, the female Organization member was punctured from behind... by PHox.
Larxene was in agony as she turned her head to her attacker, weakly asking, "PHox... you dare...!"
"Come now, Larxene. You know how ridiculous it is to have guests not know when the party's over. Just admit it; you are the loser around here. Just perish!" He retracted the spike on his cleaver from Larxene before unleashing a horizontal slash that caused her to scream out in pain, before her body faded away into nothingness.
Sora was stunned by what he had witnessed. This was the second time he witnessed the Organization betray one another. He then growled at PHox, and demanded, "Why did you do that?! Aren't you working together?!"
"That depends...on whether they work with me." PHox replied looking up and down his weapon, "As for WHY I did it, let's see... Well, it's because I can!" The answer, combined with his merciless glare and grin, shook Sora and his companions. "You see, unlike the rest of the Organization in this castle, I was given special permission to kill whoever and whatever I like. Even nothing, which is what we are...provided I have a sensible motive. In her case, she was among a kill list, so I killed her."
"That's...nuts!" Sora exclaimed.
"Oh, but we're not done here!" PHox argued, pointing his cleaver at Sora, "You see, I still have my own personal goal to accomplish. While I did a side gig to help the guys in this castle turn you into a puppet, I am more interested in Philia."
"But why? Why are you so determined to go after Philia in the first place?" Sora demanded.
"Simple. She was suppose to be one of us." PHox replied, surprising Sora, "I wasn't lying when I said she and I came from the same world, as did that woman before and a guy back at headquarters. However, just as she was about to get pulled along with the rest of us, someone else interfered and warped her out of our reach. But that did cause some 'side-effects' on her because of it."
He twirled his butcher knife, turning his back to the group as he took a few steps back, continuing, "She didn't become like the rest of us, but she did become something else entirely. That's why she has barely any memory of her past. Course, that could be said about the rest of us in the Organization, since we have very little memory of our pasts. I managed to scrape together some bits of my own, and get an understanding about that little missy. So, I'm merely filling in the holes in the pavement of her memories to set her on the right path."
"So, you're saying all that stuff you and everyone else was talking about...all that stuff about her being a murderer was a lie?!" Sora demanded, ready to fight him.
"Who knows? Not even I know what her past is." PHox answered, "But she doesn't easier. So I'll just mold her into the perfect tool, and I'll use any means to do that. The Organization, a puppet..." He pointed his weapon at Naminé, who was on her knees. "Even a witch with powers over memories."
He lowered his weapon as he growled, "But things still aren't going my way. I had her almost broken to nothing, which was a little too far, I admit. However, thanks to your make-believe girlfriend, she was able to regain her resolve to come after you."
Sora looked to Naminé, muttering, "Naminé...helped Philia?"
"Course, I should mention that she was previously insistent on separating the two of you. You know, as girls want to eliminate the competition." PHox added, blood literally boiling from his body, "But she had to regret her choices. So, to prevent this from happening again, I'm gonna remove all of you from the party!" He pointed his dagger from Naminé to Sora and his friends. "After that, she can be all mine to take to the party!" he finished, ready to fight. Sora, Donald and Goofy prepared themselves, as he looked serious about what he wanted to do.
Philia
In the illusion world of Destiny Islands, Philia was already in the boss room. The landmass in the swirling storm of darkness. Philia stood there, her dagger at hand, as she was dealing with the Darkside Heartless. "I'm pretty sure I was going through Sora's home island." she told herself, "But as for this guy, are you the one who sent this world to darkness?!"
The Heartless was unable to answer, and unleashed energy shots from its chest down at Philia. She used a higher-number card to parry the attack, which was a Gravity card, striking the Darkside with it, and causing a Gimmick card to fall. She snatched it, and took it into her hands. Before it could attack her again, she utilized the Gimmick card, and made the platforms rise, bringing herself right in front of the Heartless's face.
"Okay, time to utilize the new move I learned from getting stronger!" Philia declared, readying her dagger and setting up three cards. She then unleashed the new sleight, Eternal Cyclone, spinning around with a whirlwind effect, unleashing continuous damage with her dagger and the wind scars that came with it. The amount of damage was tremendous against the Darkside, but not enough to take it down.
"Still up? I won't let that slide!" Philia growled, before preparing another sleight in the form of Ice Breath, blasting freezing winds from her mouth at the Darkside. The damage she did with that was enough for it to fall backwards from the attack, where it vanished, completely beaten.
Philia landed on the ground, sighing in relief. It took a bit of time, but she managed to best the Heartless. "Now I can continue forward.
'Philia!' cried out a voice, which made Philia jump. She suddenly recognized it, as it was a voice she heard once before.
"Naminé?!" she asked, looking about.
'Philia, please... Sora's in danger!' she heard her voice inform, 'If you don't make it, he will be killed!' Philia's pupils shrunk in horror. Sora will die? Someone was gonna kill him? Was it her duplicate? Either way, she had to go to him. "Hold on, Sora. I'm on my way!" With that, there was a bright light, and she found herself out of the boss room, heading to the end goal.
Sora
Back in the other room, Donald and Goofy were sent flying, crashing to the ground, utterly overwhelmed. Sora, meanwhile, had also been flung, but was struggling back to his feet, stabbing his Keyblade into the ground as a crutch to pull himself back up. However, PHox swiped his cleaver to knock Sora's Keyblade out from under him, causing it to clatter to the floor away from Sora, and for the boy to hit the ground.
"Seriously? This is all you can muster up?" PHox asked, "You got THAT tired out from facing that other puppet and Larxene? Jeez, you're no where near the level I am use to. There were even a couple of swordfighters in my past that I vaguely remember, but had WAY more skill and strength than you."
He grabbed Sora from his shirt, pulling him off his feet, before bringing his cleaver to his neck. "All the Organization cares about is the weapon, so I'll eliminate the wielder." he finished, his grin malicious as he drew the weapon closer to his throat.
"Sora!" Donald, Goofy, and Naminé cried out. Sora struggled with any energy he had left, but was afraid. He got beaten hard by this man, and he wasn't able to fight back. He didn't even run into Philia yet. He didn't apologize to her for so many things. He couldn't protect Naminé like he promised. He was full of regret.
"That's it, just what I wanna see!" PHox exclaimed, looking demented in his face, "There's nothing better than to see the expressions of those who are about to die. Their fear, the anguish, the regret. Those are the memories of people I like to engrave in my mind. Yours will definitely be among I'll remember!" He slowly brought the blade closer to Sora's neck, and a small trickle of blood was coming down his throat. He had just barely cut the skin.
"SORAAAAAAA!" Shouted a voice, flying out of the door behind. Philia came out of the illusion world, taking a single second to understand the situation before striking PHox in the arm holding Sora. Her rage at the moment she witness made her not bother with slashing his hand from the wrist off. PHox leapt away the second she slashed him, putting his cleaver away as he grasped his wound. Sora crashed to the ground, PHox's hand vanishing into vapors as it hit the floor. Philia came to a halt, standing there in between the dearest person in her life and her nemesis.
Sora grimaced, but was in a sitting position, before looking up, beaming at the sight of Philia there. "Philia!" Sora called to her.
"Sorry I'm late, Sora." Philia apologized, "Had too many enemies and too much soul-searching to do."
"It's okay." Sora replied, before grimacing and putting a hand to his throat.
Philia looked back, before raising three Cure cards, casting Curaga on herself and all of her friends. This gave them the energy to get back up on their feet again.
She reloaded them back into her deck again as she looked to Naminé and the empty Replica Riku. The blonde-haired girl gave a smile to Philia, before her face was given a guilty addition. "We can talk later, Naminé." she told her, "I have some questions that need to be answered. But first..." She glared at PHox, whose handless arm was magically cauterized, and he stood there, grinning at his targets, who gathered together, side by side, to face him.
"Well, you have some bad timing, Philia." he told her, "I was just about to eliminate Sora for you."
"Save it." Philia growled, "I've had enough of your torment. First you try to mess with me about my past, then you make a duplicate of me to fool all of us, and now you're trying to kill my friends! I've had enough of you! You're gonna pay for everything you have done to us!"
PHox chuckled, his eyes closed. "Oh, I know I'll pay for everything. For what I paid for is worth what the reward is!" He snapped his eyes open, giving off a demented excitement. readying his cleaver. "If you are this stubborn at accepting your past, then I'll just have to make you suffer, alongside your friends. Let the bloodfest begin!"
There was a bright light, and Sora and Philia were together as they faced PHox, who was ready to destroy them. PHox launched forward, using a Crossroad Kill attack, which had now turned into a double wave of blood red energy, turning his attack into a close and long range move. He targeted Sora, but Philia got in the way, and used a higher-number card, breaking his card, before coming at him with an Attack card, before striking a couple more times. She backed off as he did his Blood Round, which was a 0 card, trying to catch her off guard, but Sora came in with a Thunder Magic card, and countered him.
"It feels great to be working together like this again, Sora!" Philia said happily.
"I agree. I may have forgotten about a lot of things, but this feeling right now is just right!" Sora answered. Philia blushed as she happily agreed.
"Guh! You guys are gonna make me hurl." PHox butted in, before launching forward with a Bloody Dance, doing wild slashes with his blood energy-encased knife. Sora and Philia evaded his attack coming at him, before coming together, ready to fight.
Suddenly, Sora and Philia's body glowed, and their minds flashed sleights they had gathered off of one another. "Whoa, is that what I think it is?" Philia asked, "So many sleights!"
"Philia, here!" Sora tossed Philia some cards, containing Mega Potion, the Bambi Summon cards he had, and a Megaelixir card.
"More cards for me?" Philia asked.
"I have some of those item cards already, but the Summon cards were ones I felt you should have!" Sora asked.
"Thanks!" Philia answered, "Let's see how this sleight works!" She created the Idly Romp sleight, summoning Bambi to the field.
"What's this? Trying to confront me with a fawn?!" PHox questioned, charging at it., "It shall be my venison!" Bambi started to prance about, creating magic energy. It did very little to the villain damage-wise, but then PHox started to sway, as he felt dizzy. The sleight created confusion.
"Nice!" Sora cheered, using a Thunder Raid to strike PHox while he was confused. However, this got him straightened out again, and he turned his anger from being weakened onto Sora, unleashing a Crossroad Kill on him, damaging him. He then turned as Philia reappeared and unleashed a Blood Round on her.
The two kept up the fight against PHox, who was more threatening force than before. He used the same moves as before, but his Crossroad Kill now became an energy wave as well as a close-ranged slash, his Bloody Dance was a difficult move to outrun, and his Blood Round was dangerous to deal with. However, Sora and Philia did all they could against him, trying to back each other up as they evaded or broke PHox's cards before striking him with cards and sleights they could muster.
Sora regained himself, and launched at PHox again, unleahing a Blitz, which was immediately countered by a sleight of PHox's creation. "This is how a killer fights!" He declared, leaping high and throwing his cleaver down like a tomahawk at the edge of the field. He had multiple ones, throwing a total of five that struck the edges of the room. Philia was close to one of the weapons, and gained a foreboding feeling, before hearing Sora shout, "Run, Philia!" He had already known what this attack could do.
PHox came down at the one she was close to like a raven, which created a red shockwave upon grabbing the cleaver handle. He then made a straight line to another cleaver, striking Philia as she tried to evade, grabbing the next cleaver as he dismissed the one he had. He did this same straight line dash to each cleaver, until he finished, and cackled as the lines he created from his dash became shockwave lines, which damaged the duo heavily. This was his 'Star Murder' sleight.
"That was painful..." Philia grimaced, before using a Cura sleight to heal herself and Sora, before reloading her deck.
"Yeah. It was the one I ended up getting beaten by." Sora grimaced.
"Even with the two of you here, it makes no difference!" PHox declared, turning to Philia, "And you, Philia, must accept the truth of your past, as well as the present fact that your ties to this boy have been permanently broken! There is no way you can truly be the same as you were before!"
Philia finished reloading her deck, before glaring at PHox, replying, "You're right. My ties with Sora were damaged by this castle, by the Organization, and by Naminé... However, they can still be retied again, and my bond with Sora can never truly disappear. Because of all the hardships, it only makes my feelings to Sora even stronger. No matter what my past is, it doesn't affect my current connection to Sora. Let me show you how strong it is!"
She raised up a Tinker Bell Summon card, a Mega Potion, and a Dumbo Summon card together, which shined brightly. PHox grimaced as he endured the light, before seeing Philia raised her dagger high, before shouting, "Soul Burst: Sora!" From her dagger, the transparent image of Sora appeared, twirling his blade before shouldering it, before diving into Philia's dagger, which made it shine.
"What-!" Sora gasped, "What's happening to Philia?!"
Suddenly, Naminé's ghostly image appeared, standing next to Sora, looking surprised as she muttered, "It...it can't be!"
Sora spun to see her there, gasping, "Naminé? What's happening?!"
"Philia has unlocked a power I only read once before in this castle. I discovered a small bit of information on it." Naminé explained, "It's a power only given to those who have a strong heart that can open up to many people, forming a strong link with them. When both sides are strong, they form a Soul Pact, which is given to the user of the power, allowing them to use the heart's power. This is the power of Soul Burst!"

Suddenly, Philia's dagger suddenly transformed into Sora's Kingdom Key Keyblade, and she took his fighter's stance, ready to fight the intrigued PHox. "Well, this got more interesting than I could imagine." he stated, "But it won't be enough!" he unleashed the Crossroad Kill with his dagger. However, Philia rushed at the energy wave coming at her, and unleashed a sleight in the form of Sliding Dash, breaking through the energy wave, and striking PHox hard with it, before standing up on the other side.
"That's my sleight!" Sora gasped.
"It's like I said; Philia has activated a Soul Burst, which is tied to you." Naminé explained, "That means she is able to utilize your weapon and techniques into her own. But I never imagined it could be used in the rules of the cards." She looked to Philia, who came at PHox, breaking his card, and swinging her Keyblade like Sora would. 'To think I wanted to initially break their bond with one another.' she mentally muttered, 'Why...why did I ever think of doing that, after witnessing the light of their connection?'
Sora darted in, unleashing a 0 Stop Magic card, stopping PHox's next attack, freezing him in place. Philia took this moment to unleash an Ars Arcanum sleight, striking the frozen man multiple times, before time unfroze, and he was hit with the collective move.
"This changes nothing!" PHox roared, using a Blood Round to cause the pair to be knocked away. He then readied his Star Murder sleight, leaping up. However, Philia came in with a 0 Attack card, breaking his attack. He crashed to the ground as she and Sora readied their collective sleights, unleashing Judgement and Tornado, respectively. Their combined attack made the Tornado even stronger and more devastating thanks to Judgement making it hit harder and larger. PHox got beaten senseless from the attack, nearly defeating him.
"Enough!" PHox roared, using a 0 card to counter their attack, unleashing Crossroad Kill on Sora, striking him hard by it. However, in his glee to try and kill Sora with his next attack, he failed to notice Philia right behind him, having leapt into the air, and pointed her Keyblade down at him, the tip shining brightly.
"PHox!" Philia called out, getting his attention, "This is the end!" She unleashed Ragnarok, sending a salvo of lights down at him, homing on his position, before they detonated, causing him pain from the devastating attack. Sora managed to regain himself, and used Sonic Blade to follow up this attack, doing numerous attacks on to him, until his final flying thrust knocked him out for good.
"Damn you, kids!" he roared, before he vanished from sight. In his place, a card of PHox appeared, which Philia snatched, pocketing it. Her Keyblade that she held to one side glowed before reverting back to her dagger again.
(Song ends)
There was a bright light, and Sora and Philia were still together, with PHox standing there, his weapon gone, and he was on one knee. He slowly got back up, coughing from the pain he was delivered, before looking at his only hand. Suddenly, he began to chuckle at this. "Oh, yeah… That's just what I wanted." He stated, "That was as close to the kind of battle I wanted to have for a long time. And it's thanks to you, Philia, Sora."
Sora glared as his name was called out, while Philia stepped forward, saying, "You lost, PHox. It's all over for you!"
PHox's knees were limp for a moment, but stood straight as he declared, "If you think this is over, you're far from mistaken. In fact, it's barely begun. You kids don't even realize what's really coming. The real party that's gonna take place!" He pointed his finger at the group at this last sentence, causing the four to look startled.
"What do you mean?" Philia asked.
PHox laughed as he replied, "Like I'd tell you that. All that you need to know, Philia, is that you and I are not over yet. Soon, you will learn to accept the role that has been casted upon you, and you don't have what it takes to divert from that path!" Philia looked shook by his words. He was not bluffing or making empty words. He was absolutely serious.
PHox looked at his body as he felt it fading. "Welp, times up for now. Go and have fun trying to be heroes in this castle." He bent back as he raised his arms high, shouting his final words. "It's Showtime, baby!" With that, he faded out of existence. The two fighters felt a new sleight that was added to their arsenal, the Triangle Magic sleight, using Blizzard, Fire, and Thunder to damage opponents.
Philia and Sora looked to one another, the latter smiling at the former. However, as Donald and Goofy joined them, Jiminy popped out of Sora's clothing, asking, "Hmm... I wonder what PHox was talking about?"
"Ah, he was just trying to intimidate us!" Donald assumed.
"No... He meant it. I can tell." Philia muttered, raising her hand where her cut guild mark was at. It hadn't disappeared, even after PHox's defeat. It was still there. Sora looked to the mark, saw the cut on the back of her hand, and looked surprised. Philia then looked to the ground where both Larxene and PHox once stood, and saw that the glove they took away from her before was now on the ground. She walked over and picked it up, looking at it for a second, before putting it on as she said, "Well, I am gonna cross that bridge when that time comes. For now, we have other matters to get to.
The group came to Naminé, who stood there, looking scared at what they might say to her. "So, we finally get to meet." Philia started.
"You must be Naminé!" Goofy understood, "It's good to met ya. We're friends of Sora,'s and my name is-."
"You're Goofy, and you're Donald." Naminé intervened.
"Yeah, but how did you know that?" Donald asked, confused.
"Congratulations, Sora!" Goofy told his friend, "You finally found your friend! I'm so happy for ya!"
"Except..." Philia intervened, "Naminé isn't really his friend, is she?" Donald and Goofy both looked confused, before looking to Sora, who's expression confirmed that what she said had truth to it.
"Gee, there sure are a lot of questions..." Jiminy muttered.
"Yep, and Naminé has all the answers." Philia answered, glaring at the girl, "So why don't you go start by telling us the whole truth on what you did to Sora and the boys."
"Of course. It's my fault, after all." Naminé replied. She paused for a moment, gathering herself together, before she started, "I took the people and memories that were inside Sora's heart... and little by little, I replaced them with false memories.
"Hey...what about Sora's promise?" Donald asked.
"Promise?" Philia echoed.
"A promise to keep Naminé safe." Goofy explained.
"Made up. It was fake." Naminé answered sadly, "Sora never really promised me anything. Me being with him on the islands...that was a lie, just like everything else. We never met. I was never Sora's friend..."
"And you were never anything more, either..." Sora added.
"No. You see, in all of your true memories, I was never really there." the blonde answered.
"That explains a lot." Philia confirmed, "Why Sora and the other guys forgot a lot of their memories, and why Sora started remembering you. Your magic did all that. But then, how come my memories haven't been altered?"
Naminé paused for a moment, before answering, "It's because...you have a very special heart. The only memories you have on you are the ones surrounding Sora and his friends, along with bits and pieces of your past. Because you have such a strong hold on the only memories you have, it created a barrier that prevented my magic from changing it. At least, that's what I believe..."
"So...you really did have...the real memories..." Sora understood, looking at Philia with guilt. The times he said that he didn't believe Philia knew the real memories, or was angry at her because he was tired of her being right... Turns out, he was in the wrong, after all.
"But I can also tell... you didn't really want to do that." Philia told her, "The Organization took advantage of your loneliness, and got you to do all that. Did that also mean you created that replica of me and Riku?"
"Vexen was the one who created them, while he and PHox copied your memories, and added them into the replicas." Naminé replied, turning to the empty Replica Riku behind her, "I just made more more memories for them. More lies to add to their hearts."
"I get Sora, but what about me?" Philia asked, "Did PHox and the Organization make you do that?"
Naminé paused once again, feeling afraid to answer. However, she finally decided to tell the truth, and replied, "I...went along with the plan without hesitation...at first. When I saw you and Sora together, and even when seeing the memories of 'her', something deep within me welled up. I don't know what the feeling was. However, I just couldn't handle seeing you two by his side, but I couldn't destroy your bonds, either. So, I went along with PHox's plans to confront you. But he took it too far. He wanted to completely vizirate it, but I could tell it wasn't right at all. What I did to you, I..."
Philia paused, thinking on her words for a moment. She could understand the feeling. Whenever Sora got obsessed over Kairi, she felt a twinge in her heart. A twinge that really started to hit harder once she started to realize her feelings. That feeling was...
"I get it... You were jealous. Of both me...and her." Philia understood, getting the boys' attention.
"Me? Jealous?" Naminé echoed.
"You said you were feeling pain about...well, her, and me being so close to Sora, especially in his heart. That's jealousy. And that led you to enact the things you did, not just for the Organization, but for yourself. However, your guilt took form, and you regretted what you have done. But by that point, it was too late to stop. And here we are..." Naminé looked down, and nodded in response to her words.
"So, is there anyway of getting our memories back?" Jiminy asked.
"I can fix everything if we go to the thirteenth floor." Namine answered, before she looked worried as she noted, "But Marluxia, he..."
"Oh, him." Philia answered, recalling the pink-haired man she had previously encountered, "He's the boss of this place. Bet he was the one who told you to tamper with Sora and the rest of the guys' memories."
"If I didn't obey him, he said I'd be locked in this castle forever." Naminé explained, "I've been alone for so long..."
"So ya did what they told ya to do because you were jealous and lonely?" Goofy summed up.
Naminé looked like she was about to cry. "I'm so sorry..." she apologized.
"Don't be. Please don't cry..." Sora told her.
Oh... Of course." she understood, "I know I don't really have the right to."
"That's not what I meant!" Sora argued, much to Naminé's confusion. He turned his back to her as he explained, "It's like this; I'm really not happy with you messing with my memories. And I'm also not happy that you had a part in why Philia and I were at each others throats throughout our time here." At this, Philia looked hurt that things ended up like they did, too. She couldn't fully accept Naminé's apology, either.
"But...you know, I can't really get mad at you for it, either." Sora continued, "These memories you gave me... In my head, I know they're lies, but they still feel right. Like the promise I made. I said I would protect you and that I wouldn't make you cry...not ever." He turned back to Naminé, finishing, "Naminé...if you cry now, I'll feel guilty, like I let you down. So don't cry...please? Until I get my memories back, smile and try to be happy. It's easier on me that way."
"Sora..." Naminé looked very touched by his words.
"Oh, brother! That's a bit much." Donald sighed.
"It's okay. Sora always gets like this every time he's around a girl!" Goofy noted.
"Yeah, I can remember many times he was like that with me in the past." Philia recalled, blushing a bit, "Good think I have all those memories, too."
"Aw, cut it out!" Sora snapped at them, "I get Philia, but you guys... I thought you two lost your memories, too!"
Donald chucked as he answered, "Too bad. Good friends don't forget the good stuff!" This caused Goofy and Philia to laugh at this. A laugh they needed after all they had gone through recently.
"Come on..." Sora muttered. Suddenly, he saw Naminé laugh a bit, developing a charming smile in the process. "There! That's it! That's the Naminé I remember." Sora told her, "Yeah...I really liked it when you use to smile. Of course, that was really only in my fake memories. But what I'm feeling now definitely isn't fake. It's real."
"Thank you." Namine thanked him, glad that at least one thing that was real.
"Careful, Sora. You might make ME jealous over your fake memories." Philia noted, leaning in towards him to make him back off. However, the smile that she gave after was a sign she was just toying with him.
"Well, then. Let's go." Sora told the team.
"Oh, boy! I can't wait to get my memories back!" Donald cheered, while Sora gave a fist pump, and Philia nodded happily in agreement.
"Naminé, Marluxia is gonna be up there, so maybe you'd better stay down here!" Goofy suggested.
"Yeah. Maybe you could look after Riku?" Sora asked, looking down at the puppet of the boy, "We'll come get you when it's over."
"Okay." Naminé replied, before handing Sora something. It was an Attack card, one with the Keyblade Oblivion on it.
"And don't you worry about Sora. I will fight for him for your sake, as well as my own." Philia told her.
"Thank you, Philia." Naminé answered, folding her hands in prayer, "And...I'm sorry again, for everything."
"Promise to get Sora's memory restored, and I'll forgive you." Philia replied seriously, pointing to her as the boys walked off, waving goodbye to her. Philia smiled at her before she left to join the boys.
"Please be careful, Sora, Philia." Naminé told them.
"We will be... I promise!" Sora replied. With that, they took off up the stairs.
More enemies defeated, more answers have been given, and more resolve filled their hearts as they charged up the stairs. Now it was time for the goal of defeating Marluxia, and restoring Sora and the rest of the boys' memories back to normal. The end goal was in sight.
