1997, July 18th, 5:02 PM

In a dimly lit room, the congregation of old men, SEELE sat at a massive table, their leader Lorenz Kiel sat at the front.Â

"We all know why we are gathered here. Arkham has stopped reporting back to us. Number Nine, tell us about your findings investigating him."

"Upon searching his home. We found his wife murdered, most likely by his hand, and his daughter missing. Everything that he amassed about demons when working for us has disappeared as well."

"He played us. And got away with it too."

Spoke SEELE-05

"I assure you, he won't."

Yui interjected

"I've analysed those files he has long before he was given them. They tell of a demonic tower called Temen-Ni-Gru. It will appear in the place where Sparda sealed the human and Demon world. I've already sent Gendo to deal with him. It will also take some time before Arkham is allowed to summon the Tower, so we hold all the cards for the time being."

"And you truly believe he can defeat Arkham?"Â

Asked Lorenz, all eyes now on Yui, she smirked

"No. But he found someone who can."

2015, October 9th, 3:02 PM

"What's that damn alarm going off for? Demon attack?"

Dante asked, covering his ears.

"No. It is an Angel attack."

Gendo responded.

The duo hurried to the Command Center, followed by the others as the got into their battle stations.Â

"Shinji..."Â

His son instantly turned to him, his elevated seat making him look menacing

"It is time to pilot the Evangelion, head to the cages."

Shinji stared up, unsure of what to do. He didn't want to hurt anyone else the way he hurt Toji's sister, but he had no choice, his father never took "no" as an answer. Dante looked at the boy, standing next to him. He recognized that expression in his eyes, the raw fear, he had felt it too once so long ago. He put his hand on Shinji's shoulder, they both locked eyes as Dante dropped his usual carefree attitudeÂ

"I know you're scared, kid. You have a huge burden to carry, and you feel like you're between a rock and a hard place. I was just like you once, scared, I had lost everything. But you still have something, those people topside are counting on you, kid. You may feel like a monster sometimes, killing with no remorse. But, those bastards wouldn't feel anything killing you, so you know what you gotta do. It may sound harsh, but you gotta get em before they get you."

He pushed him lightly towards the door

"Now go, you got a city to save."

Shinji stared back at him for a few moments before walking off to pilot the walking death machine known as the Evangelion

"You suck at pep talks."

Misato said to him

"Would you have done better?"Â

He retorted

"Enough chit-chat."Â

Ritsuko snapped

"We got less than 10 minutes before that angel reaches Tokyo-3. We need to start formulating a plan, and quick."

As they observed the monitors, the angel appeared. To say it looked strange was an understatement, it was vaguely spear shaped and had purple skin with its core exposed in the center of its chest. Gendo instantly had a plan

"The pilot will be sent out with the pallet rifle to intercept the Angel. He will negate its AT field then attack the core directly."

Dante looked up to where the Commander sat

"I thought that was the plan all along."

He said as he watched for the upcoming battle, he had no idea what to except, but it certainly wasn't what was going to happen next...Â

October 9th, 3:10 PM

"I'm telling ya, Toji. This is my only chance to actually see that giant robot up close!"Â

Kensuke pleaded, ever since they had been sent into the shelters he had been nagging Toji for them to sneak out and take a look at the battle.

"Are you out of your damn mind?! Do you wanna get crushed?"Â

Toji said, not swayed by Kensuke's pleading.Â

"Please, man. This is the only time in my life I'll ever get to see one of those things up close. I'll probably never be able to see them if I don't go now! Please, Toji. Help me out here..."

Kensuke said, facing him with a desperate look.Â

Toji relented

"Fine. Just this once..."

Qliphoth, October 9th, 3:12 PM

The Usurper sat at his throne. His bloody crown proudly displayed on his head. But he had found himself distracted recently by her. Urizen would be able to sense things using the demonic tree, and his latest object of Contempt was Lilith. She was somewhere deep beneath the city, and despite being immobilized he still grit his teeth at the very thought of her, he hated her almost as much as Dante. She was a coward, lulling Adam's spawn to the slaughter. It was time she tasted death, she should be proud it was him that was going to end her, there is no higher honor than to be killed by a king. But he was aware of the Lilim that would get in his way, and that mage dressed in black seemed to know how to destroy the roots. But as he felt the Evangelion appear on the surface, and Shamshel arrive in the city, he knew it was time to seize the moment. Diverting some of his power to his forces, increasing their power significantly, he sent of slews of furies, nobodies, and behemoths to wreak havoc. But that was not his main attack, his enemies had mistaken him for a fool that knows nothing, but he was smart, deadly smart, and now he was going to demonstrate. For the legion was merely a distraction, he knew with the demons and the Angel keeping the Lilim occupied, he was free to seek her out. Burrowing the roots deep and around the Geofront, he found what he was looking for, and began the process of breaching the chamber...Â

NERV Command Center, October 9th, 3:15 PM

V felt a sudden tug at his mind, a bizzare object found its way engrained inside but he couldn't make out what it was. It was white, he supposed, and a red cross? What the hell was going on? Unless...Â

His fears were confirmed when another alarm went off, the feed showed hundreds of demons spewing out of the Qliphoth, a purple aura surrounding them as they *broke through the wall* Rabid, and angry. V froze, did those thoughts of the white and mass and cross come from his other half? He had no time to think about that as he, along with Dante and Nero began sprinting to the surface to stop the demons.Â

3:18 PM

Toji and Kensuke stood paralyzed to their spot as the simple mech battle became a war between those monsters, the angel, and the giant robot. Some dudes dressed weirdly had joined, using magic mumbo jumbo. Toji had enough, he grabbed Kensuke by the wrist and ran towards the shelter, he didn't give a damn anymore. His life wasn't worth a video...Â

3:20 PM

"Another one coming your way, Kid!" Dante yelled.Â

Nero hopped out of the way of the red beast. Cursing himself for not getting his weapons on the way out. He had been in too much of a hurry to realize, but he could stay alive for now. As if on cue, a massive box dropped in front of him, opening by itself he saw his Arsenal including a silver devil Breaker which looked futuristic. He quickly slapped them on and kept dancing in between the demons, attacking back occasionally.Â

3:22 PM

Shinji's chest exploded in pain as he was thrown against the side of the mountain, he struggled fiercely, flailing his arms to counter his attacker, but it did nothing. The Angel's whips wrapped around his Eva and constricted, making his whole body feel like it was on fire. A timer showed up on his screen, his cable had been severed. Rage overtook his fear as the angel continued pounding on him, there was no way he would let this thing hurt anyone, not anymore, they were counting on him. He brought out his prog knife and stabbed the Angel in the core, yelling in fury as he drove it deeper. And just as the timer hit zero. The angel died... And that's when the Qliphoth roots began reaching for them both...Â

3:23 PM

The trio of Devil hunters had nearly finished taking out the horde when Dante looked up and saw the Qliphoth extending towards the titans. He quickly activated his Devil Trigger and flew upwards, slicing through the first one with ease. Two out of the remaining four curved back around to attack him. He dodged out of the way of the first one, before slicing the second. He then empowered his guns and shot through the remaining one. He turned his attention back to the other ones which had latched themselves to the Angel's corpse and began extracting blood. From there it was a simple matter of throwing the Sparda at them. It cut threw them in a boomerang Arc before landing back in Dante's hand. Crisis averted... Right?Â

3:25 PM

Deep beneath the Geofront, Lilith stirred. She couldn't shake the feeling of a powerful entity nearby. But that didn't make sense, Adam's children were meant to die... Unless the Lilim had failed?Â

She now felt it inside the room with her. She turned her gaze up, and saw pale roots extending towards her. That was most certainly not an Angel... The Demon King had come for her. As the roots attached themselves to her, she wailed in agony, feeling her life draining from her. But slower than she expected, he wasn't rushing the process... He wanted her to suffer. She could only hope the Lilim became aware soon. Or all hopes of Instrumentality would be crushed...Â
