Diana would deny the antidote by all means and so she did, not only for considering it wrong to leave her family in exchange for Margaret, but also for the love she felt for her own family, for Louise, all the years they spent together, they lived the greatest happiness in the world, even with Marie and Amelia becoming puppets the way they were brought up by Margaret, still the love of a mother never stopped existing, but it was all a plan of Ford that even knowing the refusal of Cavendish, still had an emergency plan in case nothing worked out. She
even tried to appeal to her daughter telling her what happened, that she had another mother, but Harley didn't even have the appreciation for her mother Benson, for living so many years without her presence, practically being taken care of by a trusted maid of Ford during all her childhood, this time as a teenager she didn't want to know about one or the other, she ended up creating a little bit of fear.
On August 11, 1936, Diana Cavendish Morris III died, due to poisoning, but of course with the money and influence of Ford, she even managed to get the body of the woman who had so many feelings of love, replacing it by a similar one that had some changes due to magic, the original was left in a shed with a trusted contact of Ford, a scientist who kept all the organs and appearance as intact as possible, being very well paid to keep it that way for decades in case something went wrong, he would have to protect the body with his life according to the contract made and that half million pounds certainly pleased the man who accepted willingly.
The wake happened two days later with the fake body inside the coffin, the whole family was thrilled with Diana's departure, even Marie and Amelia who had a feeling of love for their mother, however the manipulation by Ford happened, that was where they saw the gap to put the blame on Louise and Adeleine.
13 August 1936, Edinburgh, Scotland, Cavendish family residence
No one expected Margaret's presence after they returned from the wake, with her sitting in an armchair in the main hall of the Cavendish family mansion, she was sitting with her legs crossed, everyone kind of went into shock especially Meredith who already gave Ford an angry stare.
" What are you doing here? Do you realise what happened to Diana? I'm sure you have a hand in it," said the furious older Cavendish.
" Well, there are your accusations, I just came here to make a request to Louise and Adeleine Du Nord, a simple request that will save your lives, I don't want to harm you, far from it, I just want you to stay in your places " said Benson all confident.
" And why do you think we are going to agree to that? " Adeleine said.
" Because if you don't do as I say you will all meet Diana right now, I'm not kidding " Said the brown haired one pointing a gun at all of them.
" You are a monster! We didn't do anything for you to do this, I heard everything my mother said, you blackmailed her, you poisoned her, don't think you're going to get away with this " Louise and Diana's eldest daughter said.
" Well, I can be arrested now, or sometime in the future, maybe even never, but I just want you to accept my conditions, you two, you are not Cavendish and in this home you don't belong, why don't you go back to your villa in France and leave the Cavendish family finally in peace? Marie and Amelia don't like you, it will be better for them, think of Diana.
" And leave my family? After all we've been through, I can't leave Isabella without knowing the story we went through, without knowing who their mothers were, you're a monster! " Louise said.
" Sad to think that, but do as I say, go quickly and I will go with you, I want to make sure that you won't call the police or anything like that, you damn things, now go pack your bags and get out of this place " said Margaret pointing the gun.
And with that they went about doing whatever Ford told them to, without much choice, the witch went about threatening to shoot them at any mormon, they said goodbye to Meredith, Isabella, Marie and Amelia, being taken to the family car where Benson was there.
A full day's drive later, they arrive in France where the car stops at the Du Nord family residence and from there the house was all empty as it has been abandoned since Louise became an orphan.
As they arrive there and the car departs is where Ford after a while kept aiming the gun, taking the girls inside.
" And now what? Have we done what you told us, Margaret? What do you want with us? Why do you still keep pointing that thing? " Adeleine said.
" And you are very naïve to think that I would leave you the way you are just alive, escape from here and then tell everyone that I killed Diana, now let me complete the trophy here " Said Margaret who without a second thought, without any mercy shoots Louise in the chest.
" Mum! Mom! Mom! No! No! Mum! " Said the desperate Adeleine seeing her mother's chest bleeding and her spitting blood.
" The next one will be... " At that hour Louise even though wounded stood up, even with little strength she made a magical force field, protecting her daughter from shots.
" Call the police Adeleine, do it, Margareth has to be arrested, I'll try to hold it here " Du Nord said bleating.
The older daughter went running out protected by her mother with magic from the gunshots being fired by Ford until she managed to get out of the house, which ended up leaving only the reddish haired and brownish one left who cast a spell against Ford that caused her to drop the gun, the hair even stood up from the girl was wrapped in magic, pulling a necklace from her neck.
" You saved my life now Diana and I will save Adeleine's now and all of Margaret Ford's victims " Du Nord said confidently.
" Do you really think you can hold your own against me? I am Margaret Ford... I am the witch most! " In that hour of fury the red"haired one casts a powerful spell towards Benson causing the biggest explosion.
Meanwhile Adeleine coincidentally meets up with some of Louise and Diana's friends who have been following them the whole way after Meredith's warning, those being Laura McLaren's great"grandmothers Elisabeth and Anne, plus Louise's colleague Hilda Braunschbank and a small troop of police who were already preparing to protect the family from the dangers of Margaret Ford.
" Oh thank you so much for coming, I was getting scared to death, how did you know about us? " asks her daughter Du Nord.
" Meredith warned us, we flew here, I called Hilda and then we called the police, there's no way Margareth can escape free from here " McLaren said.
" Thank you for saving us " said the girl.
" Don't thank her, I myself wanted a reason to get rid of this bitch, for everything she put me through, both me and Anne, or everyone else who passed at the hands of this cruel witch " Said the redhead aiming the gun at the house.
The front door of the house ends up being knocked down and Louise is thrown backwards falling in the middle of them all, which makes Margaret walk all intimidating towards the French woman, holding in her hands the pistol that fell on the floor.
" Louise, Louise, do you really think you could hold your own against me? I'm not just any witch, now... " Just as Ford was about to complete her sentence, she looks directly in front of her and notices several weapons being pointed directly at her.
" Surrender now Margaret Ford, you are under arrest! " said one of the policewomen.
" What the fuck! You bastards, I told you not to let anyone follow me! I swear you Du Nord will pay dearly one day! Damn you! " Said Benson dropping the gun and then standing with her hands up, finally being surrendered and arrested.
It was a relief for all, Margaret was taken to the police car, where she was then taken to a temporary prison in London, before being tried and convicted for her crimes, which evidence was given by none other than Adeleine Du Nord, who took her chances during this time with a wire under her clothes.
Margaret was judged and at the time she confessed a series of crimes to everyone in the greatest tranquility of the world, from the murder of her father until the last crime that was the attempted murder of the Du Nord, she would only be judged for the last one but she confessed all of them, what made the whole court to be in shock with the psychopathy that that human being had and the naturalness with which she was talking about each crime she did. In
the end the decision was taken, Margaret Benson Ford was condemned to fifty years in prison, besides having to use magical handcuffs all the time that serve to impede the use of magic, a great relief for all, but that ended up making some things change.
Louise and Adeleine Du Nord moved to France after Diana's death, with the sisters staying in Meredith's care while she was alive, with visits also happening sporadically from the French who went from time to time to see Isabella who was getting to know a little more of Louise's mother, but this also did not last long.
Louise could not overcome the depression that was being away from her beloved wife and in 1941, in the middle of the Second World War, she committed suicide, which made those times of visits between them very difficult as France was occupied since the previous year by German soldiers all around, it would be impossible to move to the United Kingdom.
The years that Margaret spent in prison were a real mystery, but she had some idea that she kept many privileges in there because she still had a lot of money left over that she kept guarded during all those years, using it to go buying who was in prison and thus guaranteeing the greatest luxury and respect in there, where she used those years only to study the plans, being that one of the great events she did in that time was the sale of her family mansion for a family of Englishmen at an extremely low price, since they wanted to run away from London to stay in the countryside of England, nothing more than the Hanbridge family.
And the decades went by with Margaret serving her prison oddly enough in a respectful manner, all she did was read and still continued to plan some things, all aiming to fulfill her ambitions, the plan she desired, to have Diana in her arms even if she died.
1986, 50 years after the death of Diana Cavendish Morris III, was the year that Margaret was released, unfortunately, this time a lady with 88 years old, in this time of prison simply wrote an autobiography that was a shocking book, since many people were frightened with the monstrosity and psychopathy with which this woman acted, telling everything about her life until the prison, with impressive details.
What rolled after that was a mystery, the woman with white hair, used some kind of forbidden magic to rejuvenate as the years passed, besides having some finger in what was happening with the Cavendish family dramas, trying to collect some information.
And things turned out as Margareth expected the family was in tatters, divided between Isabella's side and Marie and Amelia's side, even more so because Meredith had already left for the better in 1950, well before Clarie Cavendish, Bernadette's mother, was born, which ended up that the influence of manipulating and taking care of the girl was in the hand of the two girls who were manipulated by Margareth, since Isabella was very busy with the issues of saving the family and all the income.
This eroded the whole family to the point that horrible things came to occur over the following years until the birth of Diana and Hellene, which only occurred years after the release of Margaret Ford who was living in the shadows all these years.
In 1999 when magic faced the cultists crisis, there she was still in the shadows, without doing anything, without showing her face, nobody had any idea where the witch was, but probably she was rejuvenating herself year after year, planning something, sneaking around the corridors trying to find something, be it books, be it information, and in some moment during those years she found out about Claiom Solais, not knowing yet when it was discovered, but it is guessed that it was in 2005.
Margareth began there what was a journey after searching for this staff, while she kept it in an unknown hiding place in the walls of the place, hidden from everything and everyone for all these years, until the moment that would be her moment to have the staff in hands arrived.
7 June 2007, Glastonbury, England, Luna Nova
Margareth was following the group of witches after spying on them, through where was the passage for obtaining the Claiomh Solais, at that moment Holbrooke, Chariot, Croix, Laura and Bernadette were, kind of walking towards obtaining the staff with the intention of saving magic and also because of the choice they made, so that they would possess that object, they just didn't know that they were being followed by Margareth who was after them, but they would soon find out as soon as they arrived in the room where the legendary object was floating in the air.
" Congratulations, congratulations, now you all hand this over to me " said Margaret clapping her hands sarcastically in the utmost tranquility.
" What? " Said the confused girls, but one of them was getting shocked the older one noticed who it was.
" Margareth? What are you doing here? Why are you like this? Shouldn't you be old? What do you want with us? " Miranda said as Ford walked slowly towards the still confused women.
" All I want is that staff you have, I just want my wishes fulfilled, you give me what I want and I'll let you walk out of here alive," Benson shrugged.
" Margareth! You will not leave here without paying, only over my dead body you will have the power that can change the world in your hands, for Denise McLaren and all the victims you have made I will not let you touch a finger on this staff " Said the lady who simply saw a figure passing by.
It was the brownish one who passed by without giving a damn, even reaching for the staff in hand, but due to her being an unschooled person and also having bad intentions kind of Claiomh Solais turned her down, giving her a pretty strong shock, which eventually made her take her hand away.
" What? What a disgrace! That thing is fake! " Said the furious brown one.
" It is the real thing, but you are not worthy of holding it in hand, now get out of here, leave us alone, you are only ruining our mission to save the world from witches! " Croix said.
" Now let you fight, for I will be the one to earn that staff! " Ford said, getting into fighting stance.
A great fight started, simply Chariot, Croix, Laura and Bernadette against Margareth, what seemed that it could be a fight with a huge advantage for the biggest group showed totally the opposite seeing that the Englishwoman could handle all of them easily, even playing against them, while Holbrooke was kind of watching this fight, kind of reciting some words in the middle of the process, strangely in a way so that the fight wouldn't be so unfair.
The way it was going to develop even with Chariot having the Claiomh Solais in hand he still couldn't handle stopping Ford who was simply proving to be the most powerful witch, more so than the other four who were the most powerful contemporaries being made into mere punching bags.
" Now! " Holbrooke raises her hands and hits what looked like a spell on Margareth.
The brown haired one let herself be hit, but it was her big mistake as she was wrapped by something around her body, then she was being tied by chains shaped like ice, in some very strange way, where Miranda made the symbols of the three seals appear on each part of that chain, while Ford was slowly losing consciousness.
" You bastard! Do you intend to seal me up? You will die! Holbrooke you are a weak old woman, the sealing spell will take your life with it, who will protect Luna Nova? " said Margaret emotionally blackmailing her way out of it.
" I know, but this is for the good of all witches, for the good of Chariot, for the good of the future generation, I am sacrificing myself for you to stop your evil deeds once and for all, for Denise! You killed the love of my life! I will never forgive you for that you monster! " said the old woman forcing the spell further.
" Holbrooke! " They all say in desperation.
" Don't do anything! I have finished my mission in this world, unfortunately I cannot guide you to look for the seven words, do what you can to save the world, I will bring peace, do not forget to put the seal on three people, so that it will never be broken and so Margareth remains forever sealed... For the future of magic... I will say goodbye to you all, Chariot, take good care of Luna Nova " Said the lady that was slowly going from the bottom to the top disappearing as Margareth was closing her eyes concentrating until she became an ice sculpture with the three seals in a circle.
So Margaret remained sealed and Miranda Holbrooke (1864"2007) came to pass away from sealing the witch, who was taken to an isolated place on an island in the North Atlantic to continue in that seal of eternal ice, which unfortunately came to be broken 10 years later with the three witches chosen to have the seals on their bodies.
This ended up being the explanation for everything that happened in the story of Margaret Ford, surprising the girls with the surprises they found, annoying Hellene for seeing that her sister was used as a mere puzzle piece, but the story served to clarify well what made Margaret arrive where she did.
