Aboard the ship, Over The Rainbow, it was well past the hour in which everyone would be asleep. All expect for one. Asuka Langley Soryu, pilot of Unit-02, had recently found herself preoccupied by researching all she could about the giant tree and the guys with white hair. To say it was maddening was an understatement. Everytime she would open one of their files, only the basics such as their name and occupation (which wasn't a surprise, Demon Hunting) would be present. The rest would be utterly redacted. As she was researching Dante's file, something caught her eye, it stated in his bio, the non redacted parts, that he was the Son of the Legendary Dark Knight, Sparda... Why did that seem familiar? She opened a new tab and simply looked up the name, Sparda. And the first result was a website with the entire legend pasted from start to finish. And the thing that intrigued her the most? Sparda was a Demon. Looks like NERV was fighting fire with fire, but still... She went back to Dante's bio and switched over to "V". And, to her surprise, nothing was redacted... Because there was nothing there in the first place, just a barebones explanation that he was fighting the demons. And honestly, now she needed to know everything. Him not being redacted is enough, but the fact there was almost nothing there in the first place? Now she found her latest investigation project...

Tokyo-3, October 10th, 9:34 AM

Nero groaned and sat up in bed, he hadn't been able to get much sleep since what happened yesterday. But, paradoxically, he was also constantly tired from the war he had just endured fighting through the army of Demons. He needed to talk to someone, he supposed it was about time he talked to Kyrie again... Throwing on his jacket, he made his way to the elevator and pressed the call button, and when it opened he found none other than Commander Ikari staring right back at him. Usually his gaze would cause to people to cower or even reconsider what they were about to do... But Nero didn't find him as intimidating after seeing Dante school him, or was it the other way around? Eh, didn't matter. He stepped inside and pressed the button for the medbay, to which the Commander gave him a questioning look

"Were you injured during the last battle?"

He asked, although it didn't come off as concerned, at all.

"No. Just gotta talk to someone, and the medical ward has phones."

Nero said, the elevator lurched and shifted into motion. Heading deeper into the massive complex

"Kyrie, I presume?"

The Commander barely finished before he found himself pinned to the wall

"How the fuck do you know that?!"

Nero asked, but Gendo didn't even flinch

"All calls made by you, Dante and V are monitored. Did you forget my position, Nero?"

The Commander said as if it was ordinary. The Devil Hunter let go of him and stood at the other side of the elevator, hoping to avoid any more conversation.

"For your information, Nero. You are, most likely, safer here than she is in Fortuna."

The Commander said, breaking the silence. Nero thought about that... This was designed to be the safest place on earth, right? That would mean.. No, that was stupid, he could never ask that of her. To his relief, the elevator dinged and he stepped out quickly, not looking back. And as the doors closed, Gendo smirked. Soon he'd have something to keep Nero on a leash and a hostage, to boot...

9:45 AM

Lilith had started losing hope. If no one came to her aid, then soon, everything would be lost. Her only hope was that doctor that came in here occasionally. She had counter every day she would come, and she would visit once every month to check on her. It was a relief that this was a day she would be here, Lilith would just need to hold out until then. But she should have been here earlier...

"Do not struggle. It will only cause you to suffer further."

Who said that? Lilith looked at the roots, and could feel the same powerful presence.

"You have no right to steal what is rightfully mine, wretch. Leave at once"

Lilith demanded, but they both knew it was an empty threat. With the Lance Of Longinus denying her the ability to regenerate, there was a high chance she would perish. She heard the massive gates to her confinement area open. And saw someone unexpected, but she didn't care at that point. Gendo looked up at the massive being being pierced by roots, she looked like a wet rag that had been squeezed dry. For the first time in years, he felt dread, Urizen was trying to kill the progenitor of humanity. He started thinking, the roots couldn't be destroyed by normal means. He could use the Sparda, but Dante wouldn't let anyone take it, and bringing him down here wasn't an option. Nero can't even get that high without the ability to fly. Which left him one option... He would have to get the assistance of V...

10:10 AM

As the elevator descended through Central, and then Terminal Dogma, Ritsuko became worried. She had been called by the Commander because of an emergency concerning Lilith. The fact that V was coming with her did not remedy her concern at all. As they arrived to their destination, they found the gate wide open with the Commander facing Lilith. And to both their horror, the Qliphoth was embedded in her shoulder and had spread to her whole body. Gendo immediately turned to V

"I need you to eliminate those roots."

He then turned to Ristuko

"And I need you to get Rei and Unit-00 down here to remove the Lance. It prevents her from regenerating, and at this rate, she'll be dead if we don't remove it."

Ristuko immediately took out her tablet and began tapping through it. V snapped his fingers, his hair turning white as the space above seemed to crack like glass. A giant mass of black slime and bones fell down, the mage jumped aboard it's back before it got in all fours and fired a massive beam at the soft spots of the roots. At the same time, Ristuko had been patched through to Rei who was thankfully inside the Geofront. As V descended from the beast, his hair turned back to normal and it melted away, he looked up and carefully observed the Titan. Then it clicked, her snow white skin, the red cross... Urizen had stolen the power of an Angel... Unit-00 dropped in and wrenched the spear out of the Second Angel, allowing her to start the long process of regenerating the wounds inflicted on her by the Usurper. After all was done and Ristuko and Unit-00 were gone, Gendo and V stayed behind

"How much more until we can breach the Qliphoth?"

Gendo asked, seemingly unphased by the events that transpired, but it didn't escape V's notice there was a bead of sweat moving The Commander's forehead

"Only one more Angel. Then we can slay my other half..."

V paused. And considered their situation, judging by the severity of Lilith's wounds. Urizen wasn't that far away from completing the Fruit... And the fact that he siphoned some of that power for himself... It was unlikely he, or even Nero, could defeat him.

10:35 AM

Urizen was always a cunning, patient demon. He didn't even feel angry when his connection with Lilith was severed, soon they would all be ashes anyway... As he felt his newfound power course through him, he sensed the presence of another Angel, Ramiel. The Usurper laughed, The Angels were no longer a threat to him, he had taken the power of the Progenitor of the Lilim. None could stand in his way, not even the Children of Adam...

10:47 AM

A violent earthquake erupted across the entirety of Tokyo-3, even those in the Geofront felt it. Inside NERV HQ, they all watched in horror as they the Qliphoth grow bigger, reaching past the clouds and gathering them together to create a dark, crimson sky. Not even the light of the sun shone through. And if things couldn't get any worse, a pattern blue appeared on their sensors.

An Angel in the shape of a perfect rohmbohedron emerged forth, heading towards the Qliphoth. Their sensors then picked up another object, from the center of the Demonic tree, a massive figure appeared, being suspended in the air by roots attached to it's back.

And as the Angel let out it's wail, the Demon King answered it with a battle cry...

Author's Note: This part was shorter than the others because a massive anime battle between Urizen and Ramiel is coming up
