'thoughts of Sesshomaru's beast'
"I told you to behave!"
"I am Kagome!"
"No! You were being loud!"
"You are being loud now! You are shouting at me!"
"I am not! You are not listening to me again, wahhh!"
Hermione stepped into the room with Sesshomaru, who now was dating her. She still could not believe it.
She looked around to see where the troubled couple was standing. Kagome was sitting at a table and was crying while Inuyasha tried to calm her down again.
Hermione smiled as she saw her friend she was showing now. Smiling brightly, she went over to them to greet them and hugged her friend.
"Kagome! It is so good to see you! I have missed you all. How are you and the baby?", she asked.
"Hey! What about me?", Inuyasha said pouting.
"Who are you?", Hermione said dead serious.
Kagome started to laugh while Inuyasha looked at Hermione shocked.
Hermione too laughed and then hugged Inuyasha as well.
"I can't hug all of you at the same time, dummy", she said fondly.
"Oh Hermione, I missed you too! And we have been well just some morning sickness and some mood swings. And Inuyasha missed you too, even if he will not admit it."
"Hey!"
Hermione could see Sango, Mirouku, their children and Shippo come closer smiling. But suddenly everybody froze. A moment later she knew why.
Sesshomaru had now followed her and steeped up behind her, laying a warm hand on her back. She looked up to him with a slight blush.
"Brother, Sister-in-law, friends of Hermione, welcome to the Western Lands and to my palace."
His voice made her shivered and she could not help but laugh at the surprised expressions on her friends faces. It was priceless. She smiled up to him.
"…Thank you, Lord Sesshomaru…", Kagome said hesitantly and looked between him and Hermione.
The others murmured agreements.
Inuyasha was looking at them suspiciously and sniffed the air.
"What is going on between you two?", he said bluntly.
"Inuyasha! That… that is rude to ask", Kagome scolded him.
"We are courting", Sesshomaru said without changing his expression.
Hermione blushed softly at his blunt statement and nodded in agreement with him.
Suddenly there was a loud squeal from the direction of the door and then Rin launched herself at Hermione and Lord Sesshomaru.
"Does that mean we can be a family? A real family?", Rin asked enthusiastically.
Hermione was unsure what to reply. They had just decided to date a moment ago, what if it did not work out? She did not want to hurt Rin. And what would Sesshomaru say? Maybe he would have enough of her after a while? Her thoughts were interrupted by Sesshomaru.
"Yes", he just said.
Everyone was looking at them with wide eyes.
"Really?", Kagome asked with sparkling eyes after she had recovered.
Hermione saw Sango grin at Miroku and frowned a bit. What was happening?
"Pay up, you lost", she said to her husband.
"Wait, you bet about me and Lord Sesshomaru dating? I mean courting?", Hermione asked.
"Well Kagome and I bet Miroku that you would both realise your feelings, Mirouku said that would not happen before we returned, so we won", Sango explained smiling and taking her husbands money, then giving part of it to Kagome.
Inuyasha was eyeing Sesshomaru in the meantime.
"If you hurt her, I will hurt you", Inuyasha said sternly.
Before she could say anything, Sesshomaru just nodded.
Hermione felt touched by Inuyasha's words, but also felt a bit indignantly. She could handle herself. She was not a goody two shoes, she could avenge herself.
"Thank you, Inuyasha, but I can really take care of myself", she told him and gave him another hug.
"Now, why don't we celebrate our reunion and your courting?", Miroku suggested.
Hermione looked to Sesshomaru and suggested: "Should we invite Sirius and Lord Flamel too?"
"Hn, we will need to tell him about our courting. The sooner the better", he said and motioned to his servant to go and get them.

Sesshomaru felt rather happy with his mate beside him. She did not quite know it yet, but she would be his mate, he now was one step closer to it. His inner beast was wagging his tail happily. Even the antics of his brothers and his friends did not damp his mood.
He seated himself and Hermione at the table and watched the others follow. He stayed quiet while the other chatted. He still had to tell Lord Black that he now was courting Hermione. Normally he would have to aske him first, since he was her father figure, but since Hermione would have to translate, that would not have worked. And it went quite fast. One moment he was angry and very sad, the other moment she was telling him she would stay. Even better she had agreed to courting officially. He had already started, but she was not accustomed to it and so had not realised he treated her specially.
Soon Yamato came back with Lord Black and Lord Flamel.
Lord Black said something to Hermione and had a slight grin. She blushed slightly and slapped his hand. Then Kagome said something in the same language.
Suddenly he got an idea.
"Sister-in-law, could you assist this Sesshomaru?", he asked Kagome.
Kagome blinked at him unsure but nodded in the end.
"Of course, how can I help?", she asked.
He motioned her and Lord Black to follow him. Before he left, he reassured Hermione.
"Do not worry. I will be back shortly", he told her and left with the other two.
He led them to a room beside the hall and motioned them to sit.
"You can speak English? Could you translate something for me?", he asked Kagome.
"Well, yes, a bit? But Hermione's is much better. Should I go get her?", she asked him.
He shook his head and said: "No, it is something she should not translate. This is Lord Sirius Black, he is from your time and a father figure to Hermione. He does not know of our courting yet. This Sesshomaru… I want to ask for his permission to court her officially. I did not think it appropriate to let Hermione translate this."
Kagome's eyes widened and she nodded slowly.
"Of course, I will help and translate! This is great! Hermione will be my sister-in-law if you two marry and she seems very happy with you. You too, you seem happy with her", Kagome said smiling brightly.
She started to speak in English to Lord Black, which gave her his hand and they shook hands. His expression then got serious while he listened and looked then at Sesshomaru.
'We will make her our mate even if he disagrees.' 'Yes. We also want to make her happy, so it is important that her friends and family like us.'
He would never admit it, but he felt a bit nervous.
He could see Lord Black say something and looked at Kagome for her to translate.
"He says that if you have not asked Hermione first, then you don't know her well enough and you have to put more effort into it", Kagome tried to translate.
"I have asked her first and she agreed. Her family is important to her, so I want to have their permission and blessing", he told her and looked at Lord Black.
As Kagome translated, Lord Black's eyes began to sparkle then he let out a laugh that had high similarities with a bark. He said something and nodded at Sesshomaru.
"He gives his blessing, and says you seem to know Hermione well enough. But don't be too sure of yourself, she can always surprise someone", Kagome said smiling.
Sesshomaru smiled faintly and bowed to Lord Black.
"Thank you, for your blessings. And then you too, Kagome, for helping me in this situation", he told them.
Kagome translated again and then said: "How could I not help you? Hermione is my friend, and you are after all my brother-in-law. Should we go back? I am worried about Inuyasha, to be truthful. He calmed down, but sometimes he still behaves like a berserker."
Sesshomaru nodded and lead the two of them back into the hall.
They had not been gone so long. How had this happened? Sesshomaru looked around unbelievingly. The adults left in the hall seemed to be drunk. Even Hermione.
"Who is responsible for this?", he asked frowning.
"Uncle Miroku had something to drink with him and said that they had to drink to the joyous occasion. He gave everyone a bit to drink. I wanted some too, but he said no, it was only for adults", Rin explained to him.
Sighing he sat down next to Hermione, which squealed a bit and hugged him. Chuckling he petted her head. Maybe it was not that bad.
They all were amusing themselves and he relaxed slowly. He took his drink and slowly sipped on it. It did taste a bit strange, but he just thought the monk had put something in his drink too. He drank the whole cup before he started to feel strange too. He frowned slightly but was distracted by Hermione's purring. She was adorable in this state. Maybe he should get her drunk sometimes when their courting had developed more. He would not take advantage of her in this state, not before they were mated at least.
"L-lord Sessomaru?", he heard Kagome ask and saw her big eyes when he looked at her.
When had she gotten so tall? Why was she still growing?
"Y-you are shrinking!", she told him.
He looked down on himself and yes, he really was shrinking. He growled and cursed while Inuyasha rolled on the floor laughing, Lord Black soon joining him.
"Lord Sesshomaru! Rin thinks you look so cute! Did you look like this when you were a pup?", Rin asked him.
He groaned and hit his palm on his forehead.

Hermione felt a bit dizzy after having drunk Miroku's Alcohol drink. The drink was strong and at first, she did not realise she was drunk. Only after the Sesshomaru she was cuddling shrank did her head clear up a bit. She took her wand in hand and summoned a potion to sober up. Her head cleared completely after having drunk it.
To her surprise her Sesshomaru stayed a little Sesshomaru. She pinced herself and it hurt. Then touched him and could feel his soft skin.
"What the hell happened?! By Merlin's beard, Miroku! What the hell was in that drink?!", she said loudly and looked at the little child Sesshomaru.
He looked very cute. Did he look like that when he was a child? Would their future children look like that?
Even looking angry he looked adorable. His high-pitched growl was even cuter!
"Who is responsible for this?!", he growled and looked around sternly.
That look could not frighten anyone and made the females in the room go 'awww'. It showed Hermione, it really was Sesshomaru. She tried to remember what happened.
"I am so sorry. I think Inuyasha and me put something into your drink to make you relax a bit, but… I think we got the wrong potion. It seems this was a deaging-potion. And you got a lot", she said making a grimace.
Before she could react, Sesshomaru was attacking Inuyasha with his little hands and claws. Both were fighting with each other, and it looked quite funny, since Inuyasha was still drunk and Sesshomaru looked like a three year old child. Inuyasha still had not much of a chance against his big brother, even if he technically was now the smaller brother.
Hermione went to separate the brothers and picked up Sesshomaru, hugging him to her. Fortunately, he calmed down fast in her embrace.
"I think we should continue the feast another time and go sleep now. Yamato, could you show the Lord's guests to their rooms?", she said and asked for help form the servants.
She looked to Kagome and her friend looked apologetically to her.
"I am sorry, Hermione. I will talk to Inuyasha and make him apologise", she said.
Hermione shook her head and replied: "No need. I was at fault too, I took the potion and we should not have drunk Miroku's drink."
They bid each other good night and each one went to their room in the end. Some needed a bit more persuading than others.
Hermione had followed Sesshomaru to his room, invardly melting from his cuteness. He was so adorable. Even more so when he tried to get on to his bed and could not reach.
"Here, let me help you", she told him and helped him on to the bed.
"We really should try to sleep. I will go back to my room. Don't worry. The potion should wear of soon. It was one of Fred's and George's inventions, my friends", she reassured him.
Before she could leave, he had gripped the hem of her kimono and looked at her with big eyes: "Stay?"
His gaze pierced her heart, and she could not say no to him.
"Fine, okay. I will stay with you. But please. Stop looking at me like that, it is too cute!", she said and hugged him without thinking, squeezing him to herself.
She let him go with a blush. She had pressed him to her breasts. And had forgotten who the adorable child was for a moment.
"S-sorry", she mumbled and bit her lip a bit.
Sesshumaru's cheeks were slightly red, and he did not look at her.
"Let's lay down and try to sleep, we will feel better tomorrow", he said and motioned her to lay next to him.
She did so and he laid down as well.
"Can we hug while we sleep?", he was asking.
She thought a moment and then nodded.
"Okay, but no strange touching, understood?", she said sternly.
They were dating true, but he was small like a child now and she did not want to move too fast. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him to her, after he had agreed.
What a long and strange day this had been. She really needed sleep. She hoped everything would be clearer in the morning. Smiling she fell slowly asleep. They were dating and she could have a future with him, maybe even meet her friends and family again.
"Good night, my little witch", she heard before she went to sleep.
