Since they went back from the Evil Academy, Etna had acted different.
She walked slower than usual and her mind was elsewhere. Laharl's confident smile was constantly in her mind.
Now that she had realized her own feelings, she didn't know what to do. Her thoughts retreated deeper, trying to ease her attraction to Lahatl. Yet it was in vain, as a single glance toward him had flushed her face.
"Etna, what's wrong?"
The sudden closeness with Laharl made her shriek.
"Prince!" Etna exclaimed. "W-What are you d-doing?"
"What are you doing?" he crossed his arms. "You seemed so out of it after the firework show. Are you scheming something?"
How to let out her feelings for one.
"No, Prince, I'm..." Etna trailed off. "I'm just fine, you know. I'm the same usual Prinny abuser Etna!"
"...If you say so," Laharl sighed, before wrapping his scarf around Etna. "You might have a fever, so wear this and rest."
Too shocked to react, Etna froze in place.
The dimensional gatekeeper gasped, both of her hands covering her mouth.
As Laharl returned to his room, Etna hurriedly ran the other way and into the servant's quarter.
With a strong kick, she sent the door flying into the wall. A red haired demon had calmly dodged the instant kill. Though he was unsure what this was about.
"Big bro," Etna huffed with a face as red as tomato and watery eyes. "It's an emergency."
Looking at her closely, she had Laharl's scarf around her neck. The weather was colder today, and she had traveled to a different Netherworld. Then he knew what was going on.
"I shall thank my Lord's Lord for lending his scarf to you." Xenolith nodded. "It had been so long since I've seen you with a cold, dear sister."
"This isn't a cold, stupid big brother!" Etna jumped and landed with her back first on Xenolith's bed. "This is all Laharl's fault."
Not knowing where she would take the conversation, Xenolith continued the discussion. "And what did he do?"
"That stupid prince..." Etna's voice trailed off, buried under the Prince's red scarf. "That stupid, handsome, brat of an Overlord had made me fall for him!"
Xenolith froze in place, before pushing back the Netherflu medicine back into the cabinet. "Come again?"
"I'm in love with Laharl!" Etna declared.
--
"And thus, their impromptu date had turned into a realization of love from the red-haired devil." As if the entire world was frozen, a voice declared from beyond the shadows of reality. "But that is only one part of the story!"
"A force of greater evil, aiming their sights on Laharl's Netherworld, will make their move next!" Another voice chimed in, disregarding everything around her. "What will these two close friends do against such a threat?"
The two angels pulled up the presentation and revealed the teaser screen.
"Next time on Like an Overlord Chapter 2: The Meaning of Love!"
The two angels waved goodbye to the audience. The blonde one holding a board that said "Don't miss it", and the student council president now in a talk with some big shot over the phone.
