For the past couple of days, I've been bouncing off the walls between learning about vampires, I even went as far as offering my babysitting services when the sun was out which was rarely in Forks, I haven't revealed what I was to Bella but I am going to since she was now ungrounded from her little trip to Italy. Yeah, I knew about that too.
I woke up feeling really awful like I wanted to vomit awful. I didn't know what was happening. I called the school and told them that I had the flu. I curled in on myself, as I watched old black-and-white movies on TV.
My cell phone rang and I picked it up. "Hello?" I even sounded weak to my ears.
"Lia? What is wrong?" my mother's voice sounded on the phone.
"I don't know, I just want to vomit. I feel like crap, my stomach hurts." I whined
"Lia, are you sure it's not that time." Mom states
My eyes widened as I got up and went to my calendar on the wall. There are bright red letters the whole week spelled out 'HEAT' "I've been so busy, I totally forgot back my demonic heat cycle."
I am part canine, as such, I do have a Heat cycle where the first day, I am very ill unless I eat fresh meat and I have been eating the crap from the supermarket. also, I need to stay away from unmated males.
"Also your human night is coming, Lia don't forget that." Mom reminded me just great, I hate my human night.
A light tapping on my door alerted me to someone's visit.
"Sorry, mom. Someone's here, probably one of my classmates giving me the homework I missed. I call later." I explain as I hung up. "It's open."
Edward and Bella walked in
I blinked at them. Edward sniffed the air.
"Edward?" Bella questions
Edward shook his head.
I sighed as I sat down "Thanks for bringing me my homework. Edward, I am trying my best to behave. I know what you smelled."
Bella looked at me.
"Sit down, Bella." I state, waiting as the human girl sat down. "Bella, I know what Edward is, but there is something else you need to know."
Bella looked even paler.
"There is more to the world than vampires and wolves." I explain, "I'm a half-demon." I remove my pendant again and set it aside. "Edward, explain to Bella what you're scenting."
"Lia's releasing a lot of pheromones." Edward explains but looks at me confused.
"You're scenting, but not reacting." I confirm "its because of Bella."
"What?" Bella questions
I looked at them. "Vampires and Demons have one thing in common. We have mates. If i'm not mistaken, Edward isn't reacting to me, its because you're his, but I guess you feel that deep down."
"Do you have a mate?" Bella asks me
I shook my head. "If I did, I wouldn't be here. Since I became mature, when my cycles come, my father ordered all unmated males away from the estate." I huffed. I really wanted to find my other half.
I looked up at Edward. I need away from town before I get too far into this, I don't want to cause problems. Reclasping my pendant charm. My features disappeared
"Pack your bags." Edward states
"Thank you." I whisper as I stood up and went to my room, I grabbed my duffel bag and filled it with enough clothes to last a week.
I finished packing and went out to Edward's Volvo. I got into the backseat and pulled my legs up to my chest, and held myself there.
The two got into the front seat. Edward looked in the rearview mirror.
"Anything we can do to help?" Edward asks
"Let me hunt." I request
"Hunt?" Bella questions as Edward took off in the direction of the Cullen house.
"I'm a canine half-demon, my father is a full fledged demon, since I'm female, I go into heat as a normal canine would" I explain "Only canine breeds would be able to scent me and I'm sure there aren't demons around here."
Once we got to the Cullen's driveway, I opened the car door and sprinted to the safety of the forest. Edward could explain. I let my sense of smell take over, I could smell the fresh air that brought mouth-watering scents of herbivores.
I took to the trees, leaping from branch to branch. I was so focused on my hunt; I didn't realize I crossed into wolf territory while tracking a deer.
I was focused on the deer that I had taken down and was chewing a mouth of raw meat, I should have gone back to the Cullens' house and chowed down on the animal, but I haven't had a fresh kill in months. I was alerted by the breaking of twigs. I looked up as a huge wolf came into my clearing. the wolf had dark gray fur and dark spots on his back, and his nose was darker as well.
I swallowed. "I suppose you're the wolves that protect this area?"
The wolf stopped his lips forming into a snarl. This wasn't an Alpha wolf, that much I could tell.
He and I circled around each other.
"You seem to be under the mistaken belief that I am a vampire, am I correct?" I question as I guarded my back.
My ears twitch as I heard the arrival of more paws running on the ground. Seven more wolves surrounded me.
DarkPriestess66: not how i pictured Aurelia's first meeting with the wolves. Aurelia is more in tune with her animalistic side, so she craves fresh meat and the thrill of open forests. please leave a review, i like this story, its different
