It was Arnold. He kissed Rhonda's cheek as he hugged her tightly from behind. "Thought you were gonna walk home all alone?"
Rhonda got excited as she heard Arnold's voice. She turned around and hugged Arnold tightly. "Arnold! How'd everything go for you?"
"I'm great! Just had bad headaches from that big hit. I showed very minor concussion symptoms but I shouldn't have to worry about it. As long as I don't play football for probably the rest of the month."
"Oh, that is extremely great to hear! I'm so glad you're back! And I'm glad to know you're alright."
Arnold smiled. "Well, how about I walk you home now?" Rhonda only giggled. "Ouu, well lead the way, handsome." She playfully pinched Arnold's cheek. Arnold only laughed as they started walking to her place.
Helga saw all of it from a bush and was flabbergasted. "How?! How isn't he affected by that hit yesterday! I pounded him into the dirt!" She thought that would've had him out for at least the week, but somehow Arnold held strong as he was back. She then gave a lovesick sigh as she admired him from afar.
As Arnold and Rhonda were walking along, they laughed and joked with each other. "Hey Arnold, one thing I'm not understanding is, how you withstand that hit from Helga yesterday?"
Arnold thought back for a moment. "Honestly, all I remember was being hit hard against the ground. Next thing I know I feel a hand running through my hair I think, and I saw it was you."
"And what are you trying to say…?"
"I guess what I'm trying to say is, you helped me out back there. So… thanks."
The two stopped for a moment as Arnold got close to her, and started a slow passionate kiss between the two. As Rhonda closed her eyes and kissed Arnold back, she felt like she was lost in the clouds.
After thirty long seconds, they separated as Arnold kissed her cheek. "Thanks."
"I'm always here for you, buddy." They kept walking along as they linked their arms together.
"About our movie… I would like to make that up to you. How about a movie tonight?"
"Ouuu, you really are responsible for anything. Well, if you really wanna make it up, you don't have to. You matter much more than some movie." Arnold then smiled. "Still up for the movie?"
"Oh, of course!"
"Great!"
"So, you got anything planned for next week?"
"You're already looking ahead to next week?" Arnold chuckled. "Well… maybe? I'm just curious whether you do actually have something in mind or not."
"Well in fairness, I only have plans ready for this week."
"Ooouuu. Care to tell me, buddy?" Rhonda had a finger on his chin, playfully. Arnold blushed. "Um- Well I… I'd tell you but it would ruin a surprise?" Arnold stumbled on his words.
Rhonda merely giggled. "Oh, Arnold. I love the way how adorable you always make yourself." Rhonda had a smirk on her face, making Arnold blush furiously. Arnold only stumbled on words for a moment before he just went quiet.
"There's no need to be nervous around me. I'm always here to comfort you, no?" Rhonda then pinned Arnold against a wall, where nobody saw them.
"Uh, Rhonda?"
"Yes, buddy?"
"Not that I wanna be a buzzkill here but, aren't we supposed to be walking home?"
"Oh, don't worry about that. It's just a quick little kiss."
Rhonda then silenced Arnold with a passionate kiss as she seemed like she didn't want to let go.
Soon, they separated. "Alright, now we can walk home." She linked her arm with his arm.
Arnold felt his cheeks red hot for a couple of minutes as Rhonda only giggled. Arnold had a feeling in him, he felt like he needed to discuss it with Gerald.
"What time is our little movie date? Arnold? Arnold, are you listening right now? Arnold!"
"Huh?! Oh, sorry Rhonda. I was just thinking about something."
"Oh, well no worries. What time is our movie date?"
"I thought the other day you said seven thirty sharp?" Arnold smirked a little.
"Oh, I'm surprised you still remember." She smirked back.
The two soon reached her home.
"Well, I'll see you later tonight.
"I'll be seeing you soon, my special buddy."
She quickly leaned in for a kiss before she soon headed inside. Arnold only stood there for a few seconds, more lovesick than ever.
"I think I'll need to talk to Gerald." Arnold thought as he went over to Gerald's place.
At the Johanssen Household
Gerald was already home while dealing with his troubling little sister, Timberly.
"Timberly, stop writing all over that! It's one-of-a-kind authentic!" Gerald then heard a knock on the door. "Ugh, hang on. Don't think I'm forgetting this!"
Gerald went and opened the door. "Hey, Arnold! What brings you h-"
Arnold yanked on Gerald's sweater. "Gerald, I need your help!"
"Woah, man! Calm down! What's wrong?"
"It- It's about Rhonda…. I- I…" Arnold hung his head. "I think… I'm really in love with her."
"You need some advice? You came towards the right guy. Come on in." Arnold soon walked in as they went towards Gerald's room.
In his room, Arnold soon started telling Gerald all about his little issue. "So tell me, what are we SPECIFICALLY dealing with here?"
"Well… I know I've hung out with her for the past few days but, I feel like she makes me feel some sort of way. We already had a date together, we're going to have a movie date tonight, we had our first kiss with each other and-"
"WOAH. WOAH, You already had your first kiss with her?"
"Uh… yeah? Is that a bad thing?"
"Bad? That's a GREAT THING! Arnold, do you need glasses like her or what? That clearly spells out she's in love with you after all that! Think about it man, even though it's only been a few days, I think I can tell she's clearly in love with you. Now, tell me how you feel about her."
"Gerald… I love Rhonda. I don't think I've ever felt this crazy over anyone before! Gerald, I… I-"
"I think you should soon confess to her."
"Wait, what?"
"Man you heard me! And if I were you, I think you should do it soon. 'Cause, let me tell you something. You have to confess sooner or later because I'm afraid a certain someone will try and intervene with you two."
"Who?"
"Curly, who else man? I'm not saying he'll steal her away from you, it'll just make things harder for you two. I have a certain feeling that he'll just be bugging the two of you once he gets back."
Arnold knew Gerald was right but didn't know what to do. "Gerald, I wanna confess but I feel like it would be too soon, no?"
"That's all I'm saying. But what I will say, is you two are clearly in love. Unless you two wanna keep your relationship on the down-low, why not try that?"
Arnold paused for a moment. "You know, it could be a good idea, but I'll think about it."
"You think me and Rhonda could work in a relationship?" Gerald put an arm on his shoulder. "My friend, you two are destined for each other, I just know."
Arnold then smiled. "Thanks Gerald. I'll soon think about it and decide."
"I know you'll choose the right choice, and I'll be proud of both of you." Gerald patted his back. "I'll see you tomorrow, Gerald."
"Later man."
Arnold left his room as Gerald soon started thinking to himself. "I wonder who I should have my eye on…" Gerald was wondering about his love life now.
At the Sunset Arms Boarding House
Arnold had gotten home as he laid in bed, drinking a cold bottle of water, thinking about what should be his next move. But every time he kept trying to think, all he could remember was those passionate kisses Rhonda always gave him.
Arnold soon thought for a few minutes, when he had something come to mind for this weekend.
That does it for this chapter! I would've had the ninth chapter out but too many distractions kept disturbing soo... See you in the next one!
