A/N: This is not The Tales of version of Percy Jackson and the Greek Gods or Percy Jackson and the Greek Heroes, but rather The Tales of version of a book I got of Greek and Roman Mythology I got in Rome Italy. The settings will be after 'The Tales of the Heroes of Olympus: The Blood of Olympus' so please read that before getting in this story. Think of this story as something to pass by until The Trials of Apollo books.
Aletes
Ah Corinth. Heracles and his descendants sure have connections to this place. Just ask Heracles' descendant Aletes.
Aletes was name by his father Hippotes, which means 'wanderer' because Aletes was born at the time when Hippotes had been banished for murder and was traveling from town to town. When Aletes reached manhood he decided to seize Corinth. He went to consult the oracle of Dodona, which was a tree that told prophecies, which promised that he would succeed if someone should give him a lump of Corinthian earth, and if he attacked the town 'on a day when crowns were being worn'.
The first condition was fulfilled when Aletes, having asked a Corinthian for a piece of bread, was given, as a gesture of scorn, only a clod of earth. To satisfy the second condition he marched against the town on a day when the inhabitants were celebrating a festival in honor of the dead and were all wearing crowns,
Aletes persuaded the daughter of Creon, the king at the time, to open the gates of the town to him on that very day by promising to marry her. The girl agreed to the bargain and duly surrender the town to him.
Subsequently Aletes undertook an expedition against Athens. The oracle promised that he would be victorious if he spared the life of the king. But the Athenians persuaded their king, Codrus, to sacrifice himself for his people, and so Aletes failed
Now if any of you read the chapter I had on Aegisthus you know he had a son name Aletes. But hist story is tied to another chapter later on as is one other Aletes.
For now we go to a name that refer to the Twin Bane of Dionysus, who again the story does not depict them as children of Gaia and Tartarus, but still mess up either way.
