Back in Time
Chapter 18
Tommy blinked, raising his arm to block the sun as he opened his eyes. He sat up from where he was laying on the ground and saw his team laying around him, all groaning and starting to sit up.
"Everyone alright?" He asked, pushing himself onto his knees.
"Oh yeah, just peachy." Trent mumbled as he sat up, holding his head in his hand. "Aside from feeling like I've been stomped on by a Zord." Tommy rolled his eyes, only to freeze when he looked around and recognised his surroundings.
"Dr O, where are we?" Conner asked, looking around himself and frowning in confusion at the rubble next to them.
"The exact same place we just were. Just in a different time." He replied, making the teens share a look.
"The command centre?" Trent said, looking around that the rubble and debris around them. "But, what happened?"
"Divatox." Tommy snapped, making Kira's eyes show understanding.
"She destroyed it while the Turbo rangers were here, didn't she?" She asked, making Dr O nod.
"So, the device didn't change our location, but are we in the right time?" Ethan asked, still looking around.
"Only one way to find out." Tommy replied, raising his communicator. "Hayley? You there?" There was a moment of silence and all of the Rangers held their breath in wait.
"Tommy? Where the hell are you?" Hayley's voice sounded, making the five rangers sigh in relief. "One minute I'm watching you all fighting Zeltrax, and the next you're all gone! I've been looking for you for hours!"
"How long were we gone?" Conner asked into his own communicator.
"4 hours. Elsa and an army of Tyrannodrones have been rampaging through Reefside for the past hour! You need to get there, now!" She shouted, clearly stressed.
"That might be a problem." Tommy replied, running a hand through his short hair as he looked around.
"Thomas Oliver, where are you?" She snapped.
"We're in Angel Grove." He said. There was another moment of silence as they all waited anxiously.
"WHAT?" She cried, making them jump slightly. "Angel Grove? What the hell are you doing there?"
"It's a long story. Do you think you could send the raptor cycles to get us?" Conner asked.
"No. It'll take too long for them to reach you." She replied.
"What about the Ptera Zord?" Kira asked, looking hopeful. "Surely flying back would be quicker."
"The Zords are offline." She replied, making them all frown. "They went offline when you all vanished. I can't get them back until you and your Dino Gems are back in Reefside."
"I have an idea." Tommy said, looking around. "Hayley, are you able to open up an invisiportal?"
"Not one that you can all fit through." She said.
"We don't need to fit in it. I need you to send something to us." He said, making the others frown.
"What do you need?" She asked, confusion clear in her voice.
"Green box in the safe." There was a moment of silence, the four teens looking confused.
"Is this going to work?" Hayley asked.
"Only one way to find out." He replied. She sighed and they heard a lot of typing.
"Incoming." She said. An invisiportal opened up next to them and a green pouch came out, landing on the ground near them.
"Thanks Hayley. We'll be there as soon as we can." He said, walking over and picking up the pouch. The others watched as he reached in an pulled an object out.
"Is that what I think it is?" Conner asked, walking closer and looking at what was now in Tommy's hand.
"Yes it is." He replied, holding the green dragon dagger in his hands. "The DragonZord was never destroyed. It's still in the Angel Grove Harbour."
"So what's the plan?" Kira asked as Tommy lifted the dagger to his lips.
"Let's get a lift home." He held the dagger like a flute, playing a familiar tune into it. They all waited a moment, looking out before they heard it. A loud noise that sounded like very large footsteps. They all watched in shock as the DragonZord walked over to them, Tommy smiling at the sight of his first Zord. "Let's go." They all jumped up, entering the cockpit of the green Zord.
"This is awesome." Conner exclaimed. "Hayley, we're on our way."
"How long is this going to take?" Trent asked, watching the scenery go past them quite quickly.
"Not long." Tommy replied, piloting the Zord easily. "Let's just hope we're not too late."

Elsa laughed as she watched people run and scream. The Tyrannodrones destroyed everything they could get their hands on as Elsa watched over them.
"Where are your beloved Power Rangers now?" She called with an evil laugh.
"Right here!" She turned and froze as she saw the 5 morphed Dino Thunder rangers stood behind her, arms crossed. "Miss us, Elsa?" Conner asked, laughing at the female villain's obvious shock.
"But, how?" She cried.
"Did you really think Zeltrax would be able to defeat me?" Tommy asked. "Give up, Elsa."
"ATTACK!" She cried, causing the Tyrannodrones to swarm the rangers. The rangers all took on the drones, using whatever moves they could to try and decrease the numbers of the reptiles.
"Why are there so many?" Trent asked, flipping over a group and using his Draggo Dagger to cause as much damage as they could.
"Elsa thought we were gone. They thought there wouldn't be any resistance." Conner replied, using his Tyranno Staff to jump over the reptiles, causing some to crash into each other. He used the staff to knock the Tyrannodrones away from him, using his speed to dart between them and cause them to collide in the space he disappeared from.
"This is insane!" Kira explained as she flipped over a Tyrannodrone, kicking another as she landed and immediately began dodging attacks and sending out some of her own.
The fight drew on, the rangers all starting to feel the strain of the battle that never seemed to end. Soon the 5 rangers found themselves stood together in a circle, facing out towards the army of Tyrannodrones that surrounded them.
"I think we need to kick this up a gear." Tommy said, all of them out of breath and exhausted.
"He's right. Let's do it guys!" Conner exclaimed.
"Super Dino Mode!" They all called. Their suits all transformed, and they felt the energy boost that came from the extra power. They jumped back into the fight, the extra energy giving them the boost that they needed. They took down more of the reptiles, managing to defeat most of Mesagog's minions. Soon, there was only around a hundred left, the rangers all stood together, feeling more exhausted than ever.
"I don't know how much longer I can keep going." Kira said. Her exhaustion from the fight had caused her to lose her Super Dino mode boost, her suit back to normal. The other rangers were the same, none of them having the energy to maintain the extra power.
"We have to keep fighting for as long as possible. If we give up, Mesagog wins." Conner said. They stood ready, holding their weapons in preparation for the battle. "Let's give it all we've got."
"Not this time, rangers." Elsa hissed as she walked in front of the Tyrannodrones. An invisaportal opened above them and they all vanished, leaving the rangers stood staring at the space that was now empty in shock, none of them moving an inch.
"Did that just happen?" Ethan asked, looking at his teammates to make sure he wasn't seeing things.
"I think so." Trent replied, looking around in confusion. "But why?"
"Let's get back to the lab." Conner said. "We can figure it out then." They called for their raptor cycles and ATVs and rode back to the lab, using the cave entrance so they could put the vehicles away. They walked in, demorphing as they did and froze when they saw Hayley stood in front of them with her arms crossed and looking fierce.
"Explain." She said, making them sigh. Kira sat on the rock that stuck out from the wall, leaning her head back. Conner and Ethan dropped onto the sofa and Trent sat on the stairs, leaving Dr O to drop into the desk chair as Hayley stood watching them. "Now!" She snapped again.
"We have just spent a week in Angel Grove." Conner said when no one else made a move to talk.
"A week? You were only gone for a few hours, not a week!" She replied.
"We were in the past." Kira said, making Hayley freeze and stare at her in shock. "We spent a week in Angel Grove in the past. 1994 to be exact."
"What?" She asked, looking at Tommy who just nodded. "1994? But that would mean…."
"We met the original rangers." Trent confirmed.
"How?" She asked.
"That device that Zeltrax had was to send him into the past so he could kill Dr O as a teenager and stop us from becoming rangers. What he didn't realise was that the device sent us back too." Kira said, making Hayley stare at her in shock. "We spent a week fighting with the original rangers to try and stop Zeltrax. We managed to alter the device and send Zeltrax back to this time, before coming back ourselves."
"Hey, do we know if Zeltrax is back?" Conner asked, making Tommy turn and quickly type commands into the computer. "And since we stayed in the same location, did he?"
"Oh God I hope so." Trent muttered, making Hayley frown.
"Where was he?" She asked, making Kira smirk.
"The moon." She laughed.
"There was an energy spike matching the energy from the device on the moon 5 minutes before we got back." Tommy said.
"You're not kidding. He's on the moon?" Hayley asked, making them all nod. "Well, let's hope he stays there for now."
"Hey, Dr O, have your memories come back?" Ethan asked, leaning forward slightly.
"Memories?" Hayley asked, making Tommy sigh.
"We had to lock away the memories of the rangers from them, including my younger self, to stop them for altering our future." He said before looking at the others with a sad smile. "No. I can't remember meeting you guys as a teenager." Ethan sighed and leaned back, giving Tommy the chance to see just how exhausted his teammates were. "Go home boys. Get some rest."
"See you tomorrow Dr O." Conner said, standing up and leading them out. Kira stayed on the rock, watching as they all left.
"I've got to get back to the café. Both of you, get some rest. We'll talk tomorrow." Hayley said, walking out of the lab too, leaving Kira and Tommy sat alone in the underground lab.
"How are you doing?" He asked, standing up and moving to lean against the wall next to where she was perched.
"I'm exhausted." She said, leaning slightly so that her head was resting on his shoulder. "But I'm glad we're back. Now we don't have to hide as much." He smiled and turned his head to kiss the top of hers.
"Your parents are away for a while, aren't they?" He asked, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.
"Yeah. For three days. Why?" She asked.
"Come on." He said, pushing himself away from the wall and turning to look at a very confused Kira. "You can't stay here if you don't have any of your stuff." She smiled before standing up, following Tommy to his Jeep where they went to pack up her clothes and other items she would want or need from her parent's house.
Xxx
Later that evening, Tommy and Kira were putting all of her stuff away in the spare room of Tommy's house. They needed everything in the spare room so that the other rangers and Hayley wouldn't question why they were sharing a room.
"I think that's everything." Kira said as she put the last of her clothes away.
"Good. I'll chat to Hayley tomorrow and we'll figure out how we're going to officially get you away from your parents." He said before frowning. "Kira, your gem." She looked down at where the gem rested in the silver bracelet, frowning as she saw it glowing.
"What the hell?" She asked, looking down in confusion. "What is going on?" She heard Tommy groan and looked up, seeing him collapse on the floor, holding his head in his hands. "Tommy!" She gasped, rushing over to him. "Tommy! What's wrong?" She jumped as she felt the energy on her wrist, looking back at the gem and seeing the light pulsing, the energy coming off it in waves. Suddenly, the gem let off a wave of energy, the yellow light shooting from the gem and causing Kira to shield her eyes. As quickly as it happened, the energy stopped, and the gem went back to its normal state.
"Urgh. What the hell?" Tommy groaned, making Kira look back down at him.
"Tommy. Are you alright?" She asked, helping him up.
"I think so. What was that?" He asked, looking at her gem to make sure it was no longer glowing.
"I don't know. My gem just let all of this energy off." She said, still frowning. "Are you sure you're alright?" He took a moment to think, suddenly widening his eyes as he realised what had happened.
"I remember." He breathed, a small smile forming on his face.
"Remember what?" She asked, looking more concerned.
"I remember meeting you, as a teenager." He said, making her freeze for a moment.
"It worked?" She asked, suddenly looking at her gem. "So that's what the energy was. The gem was unlocking the memories."
"Yes. It worked." He said with a slight smile before frowning. "Although, I'm not sure that's a good thing."
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I don't think it's going to change anything." He replied. "I know they said they would call, but I'm not sure if they're going to, now that they know how and why I lost contact with them all. I don't know if any of them will try." They sat on the bed hugging for a few minutes before Tommy pulled her up. "Come on. We've got school tomorrow. Let's go to bed." They walked down the hall to Tommy's room, both wishing that graduation would hurry up.
