Finished this one quicker than I thought. Please don't forget to leave a review of this chapter, once you're done reading. Hope y'all enjoy!

As usual, the episode opened with a shot of Kihci Island and Don standing at the dock. "Last time, on Total Drama Omega. We brought back an old classic: dodgeball. In a best of five series, our eighteen competitors showed their skill and brought their A-game, even Dave, if you can believe it (Dodging Lightning's ball and winning for his team). In a best of five series, Sky and Jasmine stood tall in the end and won their team's second challenge in a row. But maybe that wouldn't have happened had Brick not gotten his head stuck in the clouds and froze up in a crucial moment. He would've gotten the boot had I not decided to change things up and swap him with Topher. Though he wasn't the only one to do this (Sugar and Jo swapping)."

A close up revealed Don standing next to Mildred, who was holding a tray. Don already had a glass in hand. "Looks like Brick can't escape Jo so easily. How will our four swapees react to their new environment? Will Brick's feelings cost him another challenge?" He took a sip of his drink, then frowned. He put the glass back on the tray. "And will my intern actually give me what I asked for?" Mildred rolled her eyes and walked off. Don turned to the camera. "Find out right here, on this exciting episode of…Total…Drama…Omega!"

With the moon still high in the sky, the competitors were heading back to the cabins. The team swap had just happened. One of the new members was already receiving a warm welcome.

"Brick," Jasmine said. "This is my friend, Beardo. He doesn't talk much, but I'm hoping to change that." She nudged him lightly on the shoulder.

The cadet chuckled. "Pleasure to meet you. I hope I can help my new team thrive." Beardo responded with a simple finger gun.

Jo watched the trio talk and laugh, with grimace on her face.

Confessional (Jo): "Of course, Brick for brains is happy with the team swap. He's not eliminated and he gets to hang around his crush. But, me?" She glared at the camera. "I'm pissed. Not only am I stuck with that lovesick loser, but I'm also teammates with a twig. I can't enjoy the satisfaction of beating her, without losing myself."

Static

As Jo continued walking, she noticed someone else by her. The jockette rolled her eyes. "What do you want, twig?"

Sky was not deterred by the nickname. "I just wanted to welcome you to the team. I think you're a really strong competitor and I'm sure you'll be a great asset to us."

Jo stared. "Ummm…no problem?" Sky simply nodded and went ahead. Jo watched her, unsure how to process what just happened.

Further behind them, the Rookies were also heading to the cabin. Dawn was watching them, a look of uncertainty on her face. She could see Ella ahead of her. Despite her back being turned, Dawn could tell how the princess was feeling.

The teams soon arrived back at their cabins and went to their respective rooms. Scott walked up to the door and waited. Topher had just gotten his bag from his former cabin. He was walking up the steps, when Scott suddenly stepped in front of the doorway.

"Hey," He said slyly. "Topher, right? Just wanted to welcome you to the team. I'm Scott, by the way."

"Thanks." Topher responded. "Nice to meet you."

"You too." Scott stepped aside. "Here, let me help you unpack." He held his arms out, allowing him to head inside.

Confessional (Scott): "Perfect. With a new sucker to play with, I can get Zoey, Bev and Dawn off my back. I just need to convince him he can trust me."

Confessional (Topher): "I can't believe it. I've been on this new team for twenty minutes and gold has already fallen into my lap. Of course, I know Scott is trying to manipulate me. But you know who else was paired with the baddie of their season? Lindsay. One of the most liked contestants in the series. If I play my cards right, I can get the same amount of popularity she has."

Static

On the girls side of the Rookies cabin, Sugar had just finished unpacking. "I gotta say, y'all ain't impressin' much with ya accommodations, but I'll take it if it mean not being stuck with that two-bit so-called princess."

"Who? Ella?" Zoey asked. "She didn't seem that bad."

"Aw, honey." Sugar gave a pitying look. "Ya wouldn't last a single day in my world. The sweet, innocent girls are the ones ya gotta look out for. Once saw this gal, acting as sweet as a caramel apple covered in maple syrup. She got asked for some advice by a new girl. Next thing ya know, she's convinced her to wear a clothing brand run by a vegan & his electric car driving wife. Tanked her whole career."

"Well that's…interesting." Dakota said. "You've…sure been to a lot of pageant shows."

"Oh, that's an understatement. Take a guess how many shows I've won by burping the national anthem."

Her teammates all groaned in disgust.

At the other cabin, Dave had been laying silently in one of the bean bag chairs. He was the only one on the guys side.

Confessional (Dave): He sighed. "Why couldn't I have gone to the other team? They at least have slightly more sane people. And best of all, no one who…" He paused, realizing what he was about to say. "...believes I have potential." He considered his words, before shaking his head. "No, no this time will be different. By the end of the day, I will be going home."

Static.

After a good night's sleep, the sun began to rise. One competitor was already up. Ella was back at her picnic, with all her animal friends. But, little did she know, she was being watched.

From behind a bush, Dawn nervously debated what to do. After a few seconds of mental debating, she took a deep breath and stepped into the open. "Hello, again."

Ella stopped and, like last time, quickly perked up. "Dawn! What a wonderful surprise. I was worried our first encounter might've been a bit much."

Dawn forced a smile. "It…was a little, but…I just wanted to see how you were doing." She sat down.

The princess tilted her head. "Whatever for?"

"After what happened last night. You seemed very distraught over what happened with your now former teammate."

Ella's smile faltered slightly, but quickly returned. "Oh, that. I'll admit it was a little disheartening to see her go-"

"Disheartening?" Dawn raised an eyebrow. "I…saw what had happened between you two during the dodgeball challenge. One would think you'd want to be away from someone like that."

Again, Ella's smile fell and returned. "I…found her to be…a challenge. Someone who needed a friend to lean on."

"But what if she doesn't want to be your friend."

"Everyone needs a friend."

"But are you sure you're the friend she-"

Ella, trying desperately not to break face, put her hands up. "Yes, I'm sure! Can…" She cleared her throat and composed herself. "Can we change the subject please?"

Dawn was taken aback. Ella's state of panic was obvious, despite her best attempt to hide it.

She frowned slightly. "...ok. We may discuss other things." She looked around. "What…kind of birds do you like?"

In an instant, Ella snapped back to her cheerful mood. "Oh, what a wonderful question! I don't like to play favorites, but a simple songbird has always caught my eye…or ear, rather." She chuckled. Dawn did the same, albeit, a bit forced.

From high atop a tree branch, Jasmine was just waking up. She had her leg tied in a knot to it, so she wouldn't fall off. The Aussie then loosened it and pushed herself off. She landed on her feet with a loud thud.

As she began stretching, Jasmine saw someone exiting her cabin.

"Hey!" She called and ran over to him.

Brick turned and saw his new teammate walking his way. He felt his cheeks warming up, but did his best to suppress it. "G-Good morning." He managed.

"Mornin.' Sleep well?"

"Admittedly, your beds aren't as good as my previous team's." He felt himself relaxing. "Still, I'm used to sleeping like this, so it's nothing to worry about."

"Glad to hear." Jasmine thought for a moment. "Hey, can I ask you something?" Brick nodded. "What happened during the dodgeball challenge?" The tension that Brick had kept down immediately shot up. "Why did you freeze up before hitting me?"

The cadet didn't answer. He felt his throat running dry.

Jasmine frowned. "Is it…because I'm a girl?"

Brick shot to his senses. "N-No, of course not." He paused. "N-Not that I would hit a girl, just…I wouldn't hit one in a regular scenario, but if the circumstances were in a way that made it acceptable to hit-" He stopped himself. "I'm…wording this really poorly, what I'm trying to say is-"

Out of nowhere, Jo appeared and stepped between the two. "I think I know what he's trying to tell you." She started. "I've known the Brickster for a while now and I know he's always stuck by a code of morals." She put an arm around her teammate's shoulder. "And one of those codes is that he won't hit a downed opponent. I mean, what's the honor in winning if it's not a fair fight, right?" She subtly elbowed the cadet, while still looking at Jasmine.

Brick didn't understand, but seeing his new teammate's skeptical look, he got it. "Umm…yes, exactly." He said with a weak smile.

Jasmine stared at the two, before managing a light shrug. "Alright, I guess I respect that. I'll see you around." With that, she turned around and walked off.

Confessional (Jasmine): "I don't trust Jo for a minute. She was mad at Brick for not throwing the ball at me, and now suddenly she's defending him? I'll keep my eye on her."

Static

As soon as she was out of sight, Brick let out a huge sigh of relief. He then faced Jo. "Before I say anything else…thank you." He cleared his throat, then crossed his arms. "Now what do you want?"

Jo sighed. "Nothing gets past you, eh Soggy McBritches?" The cadet remained unphased. "Alright, fine. Here's the deal. You realize we're at a disadvantage on this team, right?"

Brick raised an eyebrow. "How so?"

"Oh, come on. Think about it. We're now the new Newbies. These guys have won twice in a row…no thanks to you." Brick was about to retort, but Jo stopped him. "My point is, they have a better understanding of each other. Now we're here and it's gonna throw them out of whack. And it'll be much easier for them to get back their groove, if they vote off the people who wrecked it in the first place."

"So…you're worried you're gonna get eliminated and you want us to form an alliance to prevent that from happening?"

Jo glared. "I'm not worried, I'm…being aware of what could happen. But that second part is true."

Brick chuckled darkly. "After all the nicknames you've given me, after all the teasing, after all the yelling and arguing…you expect us to become allies?"

"Hey, even if I get eliminated first, you'll be on the chopping block next."

"The answer is no." Brick said firmly. "Good day."

He soon left for his morning run. Jo grunted in defeat.

Sky was heading to the mess hall for breakfast. She was by herself…or so she thought.

Ahead, behind a bush, Beardo was nervously watching her. He thought back to what had happened last night.

(Flashback)

Jasmine and Beardo were standing outside their cabin.

"So how can I help the team?" Beardo asked. "I mean, I'm not that strong or-"

"I think you should talk to Sky." The aussie cut off bluntly.

The beatbox machine nearly fell over with how surprised he was. "You want me to-!" He stopped himself to make sure no one else heard him. He whispered. "I can't talk to Sky. Or anybody else. I…I have trouble talking to people, you know this."

"You started talking to me within three days."

"That's different. You accepted who I was and how I talked to people and I…I really appreciated it."

"I mean, has Sky ever mentioned your sound effects?"

Beardo thought for a moment. "...no, but she doesn't like me. She thinks I'm useless to this team. Why-" He then realized something. "Wait, why do you want me to talk to her?"

"I think she doesn't realize the potential we all have. We've won twice in a row and she still doesn't believe in you or nearly half our team. If someone who never talks suddenly starts speaking to her, it might help her open up and then she'll finally start acting like a leader who trusts all her teammates."

Beardo considered. He really didn't want to do it, but could see the hopeful look in Jasmine's eyes. He sighed heavily. "Alright, I'll give it a shot."

Jasmine smiled. "Thanks, mate. I know you can do this."

"Well that makes one of us." Beardo managed a small smile.

(End of flashback)

As Sky got closer, Beardo was psyching himself up. It was gonna take a lot of mental energy to pull this off. He waited until she had passed, before walking out. Sky heard the rustling and turned around. Beardo was still in the midst of preparing himself. He took a deep breath, held up his hand, put on a big smile and said "...hi."

"Morning." came the reply.

Beardo blinked. "Umm…good morning."

Sky simply nodded and continued her walk.

Confessional (Beardo): He was stunned. "Well…I wasn't expecting that."

Static

Snapping from his daze, the beatbox machine ran up to his teammate. "So…what do you think they're gonna have us do today?"

"Probably another physical challenge." Sky responded, not looking at him.

"Oh, really? Well…I hope so."

The olympian suddenly stopped and faced her teammate. "You do?"

Beardo scratched the back of his head. He struggled to maintain eye contact. "Yeah. I mean. I'm not that physically fit, but I…I just wanna try to be a better teammate. There's a lot more to me than you think."

Sky looked down at Beardo's belly "You sure you're up to it?"

"Yeah, I think so. Umm…maybe getting some tips from someone training to be in the Olympics could help?" He gave a nervous smile.

Sky wasn't fully convinced, but shrugged. "Alright, well I guess the first thing I'd say is try to lose some weight, so maybe try to get some exercise in between challenges."

"Do…" Beardo took a deep breath. "..you wanna help me with that?"

The Olympian raised an eyebrow. "Umm…I guess, if you're willing to work for it."

"Oh, I am." He put on a big smile.

Confessional (Beardo): He was still smiling. "Oh, I am absolutely not."

Static.

"Alright," Sky continued. "Tomorrow morning at five thirty, meet me outside the cabin and we can get things started, ok?" Beardo nodded. The Olympian turned and headed to the mess hall.

The beatbox machine waited until she was out of sight. He then promptly let out a huge sigh and collapsed onto the ground.

After finishing breakfast, some of the competitors had stayed inside, while others were hanging on the balcony. Dakota and Zoey were two of them. The indie chick could see the downcast look of her friend.

"You alright, Dakota?"

The former mutant sighed. "I don't ever think I'm gonna be able to talk to her."

"Who, Jasmine?"

Dakota nodded. "I tried saying something to her during the dodgeball game, but I froze up."

"Maybe talking to her in the middle of a challenge wasn't a great idea." Zoey didn't receive a response. She thought for a moment, then got an idea. "How about just…telling her how you feel? Getting it out in the open could help a lot."

"But, what am I supposed to say? I don't want to hurt her feelings."

Zoey, again, thought of an idea. "How about…we do some role playing? I'll be Jasmine and you be you. Then you can find the best way to talk to her."

Dakota turned to her friend. "Can you do an Australian accent?"

"Ummm…not really. Does it matter?"

"Kinda. Look, Zoey. I'm not really good at the whole roleplaying thing. Sam taught me how to play Dungeons and Dragons and it took me nearly a week to come up with a character and we literally had to name her Dakota or I would've gotten so lost."

Zoey sighed. "Alright…" She cleared her throat. "G-Day, mate." She said in an Australian accent. "How's that?"

Dakota shrugged. "Not great. And honestly, I don't think it would work that well, considering you're not that tall."

"Maybe I can find a box and-"

"And you're not wearing a hat."

Zoey was getting annoyed. "Oh, come on. The hat is not that important." She saw her friend's boyfriend, walking out of the mess hall. "Hey, Sam. Can you help me with something?"

"Yeah, what do you need?"

She explained the situation. "Do you think you can help?"

"Sure." Sam smiled. "I do a pretty good accent."

"Zoey…" Dakota sighed. "I couldn't do this without you wearing a hat or without you being as tall as her, so what makes you think my boyfriend could help? No offense, babe."

"None taken."

Zoey put her palms to her face and groaned. She had given up.

"Hello, Rookies."

The trio turned to see Don walking up to them. "I'd like you, the rest of your team and the Newbies to make your way to the big lake."

"Challenge time?" Sam asked.

Don snapped his fingers. "Correct-amundo. Now make haste." He walked away.

Dakota, Zoey and Sam obliged and went inside to tell everyone.

The two teams soon arrived at a giant lake. In the middle of it were two parallel docks. On one end of each of the docks was a wider colored area, one orange and the other green, as well as a rack on the side. On the opposite end was a slightly smaller area with a pile of large dueling sticks. Separating both of them was a longer, thinner dock. Mildred was standing on the orange area, and a few other interns were standing on the green.

Don was on a motorboat, close to the competitors. "Welcome, everyone. Today's challenge is one I liked to call Dash and Duel!" He paused for dramatic effect. "Like yesterday's challenge, this one will test your physical capabilities. And to demonstrate, my interns will show you how it works." Don pulled out an airhorn and pressed the button on it. Mildred and an intern ran towards each other, on separate docks. "The object of this game is to run to the other end of your dock and bring a dueling stick back to your starting area. Once you come back, place your stick on the rack." Mildred and the intern did as instructed and rested their sticks at a slight angle. A second intern took over for the first. Don continued. "The dueling sticks are not only how you earn points, but you can also use them to block your opponents." Again, he used the airhorn.

Mildred and the second intern did the same thing as last time. But, when they ran back with their sticks, they stopped. They clashed their sticks. Mildred pulled back and nailed the intern in the stomach, causing him to crumple to the ground. The head intern smiled to herself, as she brought her stick back and placed it on the rack. "The head intern has formed an X," Don pointed. "There are eight sticks total for each team. That means four Xs will give you the win." He again blew the airhorn. Mildred confidently ran to grab another stick. She didn't see the next intern on the other dock. "Now, to keep things from getting boring, we added one other rule for what happens when you fall off the dock."

Mildred smirked at this. "Alright, buddy." She said aloud. "Sorry to have to do this to you," She grabbed her stick, turned around and ran forward. "But I-" Mildred's confidence immediately vanished.

The other intern already had a stick, but looked very different from the others. He was three times as tall as them, had an incredibly buff physique and an afro that covered his eyes. He faced her with an emotionless gaze. Mildred was so lost in her mind, she had forgotten she was still running forward. The large intern took his stick, pulled back and swung at the head intern.

THWAP

Mildred flew backwards and splashed into the water. She had let go of her stick and it also hit the water a few feet behind her.

From his boat, Don laughed. "That'll never not be funny." He composed himself and turned to the competitors. "If you, or your stick, fall into the water, you'll have to return to the starting area and your stick will also go back to where it started. And to make things a little more difficult, the interns will also be in the water, shooting water cannons at you. You don't need to pick an order and only one player per team can cross. Since there are nine of you, assuming you don't get a stick on the first try, everyone must go, at least, once. You've got five minutes to get on the dock and plan. So swim over here and hop to it!"

Both teams arrived at their respective docks and began planning.

"Since we don't know what they're going in," Sky said. "I say we-"

Jo shoved her aside. "I'm going first. That'll give you weaklings something to look up to." Sky narrowed her eyes, but didn't say anything.

"Yeah," Brick whispered to Jasmine, unknowingly. "Something to look up to? Like how to lose a two on one situation in a game of dodgeball."

The aussie chuckled. It was then Brick realized who he was talking to and he stuttered, giggling nervously and blushing.

The challenge was soon to begin. Jo saw who she was about to face and her eyes lit up.

Confessional (Jo): "My first opponent is not so bright-ning? Perfect. I still wanna knock some sense into him for eliminating me in the dodgeball game. He's gonna get Sha-Slammed!"

Static

Don looked between the two teams and gave a thumbs up. An intern pulled out an airhorn and pressed it. The game was on.

The two hot headed rivals ran forward.

"Careful not to trip, meathead." Jo mocked. "I'm honestly surprised you can tie your shoes."

"Sha-please. Lightning knows how to tie his shoes. Now watch him do the loopty loop and pull on your face."

"That makes no sense, you idiot!"

The two continued smack talking, as they went to grab their sticks. As quick as they had arrived, they were already heading back to their respective zones. Jo saw Lightning running and readied herself. "Lightning's about to get struck!" She said and swung at him.

Unfortunately, Lightning's momentum was too great and once the stick collided with him, it was quickly sent back. Jo was caught off-guard and struggled to balance herself. Lightning, however, stopped, spun around and swung his stick into Jo's stomach. The jockette couldn't dodge it and was sent flying backwards, into the water.

"And Lightning scores the first point overall, as he puts the Rookies on the board." Don commentated, as Lightning placed his stick on the rack.

Jo emerged a few seconds later, spitting out water in annoyance. She looked over at her platform and glared at someone.

Brick was trying his best not to laugh, but couldn't help but let out a sputter.

"What is so funny?!" Sky demanded. "We're losing now and you think it's something to laugh at?!"

Brick quickly composed himself and stood at attention. "No, ma'am. I apologize for my outburst. Allow me to remedy the situation by winning us our first point."

Sky glared, but didn't say anything.

As he said he would, Brick stepped up. On the other side, Sugar was also readying herself.

Don blew the airhorn. The cadet took off, but the pageant queen took a much slower approach. She daintily stepped one foot in front of the other.

"What are you doing?" Sam asked.

"Y'all clearly aren't playing the right game." She said, "This is clearly a runway strip. Unlike the rest of you, I can't afford to look stupid on TV."

"You're doing great!" Called a voice.

Sugar cringed, as she saw Ella waving at her from the other side. "And…concentration broken." She grumbled and ran to get the stick.

Brick had a slight lead, but Sugar wasn't far behind. They were both heading back to their starting zones. An intern fired his cannon and a shot of water flew into the air, striking Sugar in the face. "Ah, dadgummit! This is gonna smear my makeup." She rubbed her face.

Brick was heading towards her. He sped up and ran right past the pageant queen and made it to his starting zone. He proudly placed his stick on the rack.

But instead of loud cheering, he was met with an angry Olympian. "What did you just do?"

"I…got us our first point."

"Yes, but you didn't knock her off." She turned around and watched as Sugar placed her stick on the rack, making their first X. Sky faced the cadet. "You may have gotten the first point, but they still have the lead."

Before Brick could say anything, Jasmine stepped to his side. "Hey, leave him alone. We're on the board because of him. Are you seriously mad about that?"

The aussie prepared for an argument, but Sky just turned around. "We don't have time for this. Let's get the next player ready."

"Thanks." Brick whispered to Jasmine.

"Yeah, no prob." The aussie replied. "Excuse me for a sec." She went off to find another teammate.

The next round had already begun when Jasmine found Beardo. While everyone was distracted, she pulled him to the side. "Hey, is it cool if we talk?"

Beardo looked around. "Yeah, why?"

"How did your talk with Sky go?" The beatbox machine gave a look of uncertainty. Jasmine went wide eyed. "Was she rude to you? Because if she was, I'll-"

"No, no. It's not that. It's…" Beardo thought of how to answer. "She didn't really have much of a reaction to me speaking to her. Like, none at all."

Jasmine was confused. "What exactly did you say to her?"

Beardo recalled what had happened. "...so, we're apparently going to do a workout session together."

"Well…" Jasmine really wasn't sure how to respond. "...I guess that's good. And, hey, you got over your fear of talking to people."

"Nope." Beardo said plainly. "I did not. It was actually extremely terrifying."

Splash

The two turned to see what had happened. Dawn was heading back to her team, while their teammate was just resurfacing.

Confessional (Scarlett): She looked stunned. "I…I have no idea what happened. I swung at her and…she completely disappeared. Next thing I know, I've fallen into the water and…" She trailed off. "That girl is a marvel of science."

Static.

Now with three points, the Rookies had a substantial lead.

The next Newbie competing was Max. He made a noise of disgust and pointed at his opponent. "You may have bested me in our previous encounter, but this time, things will end differently."

B just rolled his eyes.

From her dock, Scarlett chuckled. "This should be interesting…" She said to herself.

Don blew his airhorn and both competitors ran forward. As soon as B had passed Max, the self-proclaimed evil genius turned around. "Already, you have failed!" B grabbed his stick and was heading back. Max reached into his lab coat and pulled out a dodgeball. "What you used against me, I will use as an instrument of your distraction." He pulled back and threw the ball at his opponent. It simply bounced off his chest. The silent genius couldn't help but laugh.

"Your masterful plan was a dodgeball?" Scarlett called.

Max held up his finger. "Wait for it…"

While B was still chuckling, an intern shot a water cannon at him, striking him in the face. He was caught by surprise and went off course. He walked right off the platform and fell into the water.

Max chuckled darkly and went to grab his stick, leaving behind a stunned Scarlett.

"Man, that guy is good." She heard whispers behind her.

"He won the murder mystery challenge already and now this."

"He honestly might be one of our better players."

Scarlett did her best to hold back her anger.

Confessional (Scarlett): She was no longer holding anything back "T-The circumstances surrounding Max winning this round are purely coincidental! His original plan failed and he tried to save face by pretending he had something else in store! The water cannon was in no way part of his plan! Max is not smart enough to think of such a complex and carefully planned out strategy." She relaxed, thinking to herself. "...right?"

Static.

B had just remerged and climbed back onto his platform. Dakota and Zoey helped him up.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." Scott looked down at his teammate, condescendingly. "Bad luck, Bev. Should've kept your eye out on that."

"Yeah." Topher walked up to him. "Should've watched what was in front of you."

Zoey stood up and went up to her new teammate. "Hey, do yourself a favor and stay away from Scott? He's a jerk with a capital J."

Topher feigned innocence. "Really? 'Cause I saw him in the dodgeball challenge and I remember he helped you out a few times."

"He only did that to make himself look good." Dawn interjected. "It's all over his aura. Nothing has changed since last season."

"Alright," Topher shrugged. "When I start seeing it, I'll start believing."

Confessional (Topher): He squealed in delight. "I got two lines in and I played it off with two of the most liked competitors from last season. This team swap was the best thing to ever happen to me."

Static.

"The Newbies are one point away from tying things up." Don narrated. "This next round could change things up."

Beardo was going up against Dakota. He was nervous, but tried not to show it.

"Alright," Sky walked up to him. "You're obviously not going to beat her in a one on one match, she's stronger and more athletic." She turned to face him. "You're gonna have to try and outhink her. Can you do that?"

Beardo thought to himself. After a few seconds, he gave off a ding-ding and a thumbs up. Sky looked puzzled.

Don signaled the start of the round and both competitors ran down the dock. Dakota had just grabbed her stick and headed back.

Suddenly, the sounds of a helicopter echoed around. Dakota stopped and was struck with panic. "What? Helicopters? Here? T-That's impossible. Daddy put a ban on the paparazzi. They aren't supposed to be here." She looked at Don. "My contract said no paparazzi!"

"They…aren't." Don responded, confused.

"Then, where's-" Dakota's thoughts were cut off by a dueling stick to the face. The impact knocked her back and into the water. Beardo smiled confidently.

His teammates cheered, except for Sky. "Where did those noises come from?"

"From Beardo." Jasmine responded. "Where else?"

"Wait, he can make sound effects?!"

With the exception of Beardo, Jo and Brick, all the Newbies stared at Sky, dumbfounded. "Have…you not been paying attention?" Dave questioned.

"What do you mean?"

"That's literally all he's been doing since he got here." Dave grunted. "It's like he forgot how to talk like a normal person."

"But…he talked to me…" Again, everyone stared at Sky with equal looks of shock. Jasmine was trying to hide a grin.

"He…talked to you?" Dave asked. "Like, no sound effects?"

Scarlett raised an eyebrow. "I find it hard to believe that someone who doesn't communicate through verbal language would suddenly want to talk with someone who labeled him as 'dead weight.'

"But…he did. Watch." Beardo had just returned with his stick and placed it on the rack. He turned around to see Sky, right in his face. "Talk to me like you did earlier today."

Beardo opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out. He stared nervously at the other onlookers. He responded with a frog croak sound effect.

Sky frowned. "What? No, stop goofing off. You talked to me earlier. Do it again." Once more, there was no response. The olympian eventually backed off. The others also turned away, unconvinced at Sky's claim. Jasmine idled up to her.

"So…" She led on. "...if what you're saying is true, Beardo must really trust you. And maybe…" She paused intentionally. "...there might be a few things you're overlooking about him and the rest of your teammates." She walked off, allowing herself to smile.

Sky was left alone, unable to make sense of the situation.

Confessional (Beardo): "I'll admit I felt bad for what I did to Dakota. But, a challenge is a challenge, I guess. And now, hopefully, some of my teammates will start believing in me."

Static.

Sam had begun stretching as he stepped up to the dock.

From the Newbies side, they were still deciding who should go.

"I think it should be Dave." Sky said, having returned from her deep think.

Dave just scoffed. "Let someone else do it."

"Don said everyone has to go at least once."

"And with only three players yet to go, including yourself," Scarlett interjected. "You'll still have to play."

"Alright," Dave said with an obviously fake smile. "Then I'll go…never."

Sky went up to him. "Oh, come on, Dave. You can do this."

Dave gave a puzzled look. "What? You seriously think I can win a physical challenge like this?"

"I do."

"Alright, fine." Dave stepped forward. "How about I show you how well this will go? In about thirty seconds, I'm gonna be in the water and you're gonna have a reason to vote me off."

The air horn sounded and both competitors ran to the other side. Sam reached the sticks first, with Dave not far behind. They met in the middle and battled it out.

Surprisingly, Dave was easily able to block his opponents attacks.

"Wow, you're pretty good at this." Sam complimented.

The Newbie scoffed. "No, I'm not. Your strikes are just really easy to block. And your form is terrible. I can easily just…" He suddenly ducked and swung low, knocking Sam off his feet. The gamer guy landed on his side and dropped his stick into the water. "See?" And Dave went back to his starting zone, placing the stick on the rack. He then walked right up to Sky. "See? That's how it would go. Me in the water and-" He stopped, finally realizing what had just happened.

"Good job." Sky complimented. "I knew you could do it. Now we have two Xs and we've taken the lead."

Dave just stood in stunned silence.

Next up were Jasmine and Zoey.

The two began a fierce duel after grabbing their sticks. Jasmine swung, but Zoey was quick to dodge them. She jumped one swing and ducked under another. She struck Jasmine in the side, but it didn't do anything.

The aussie then took a big swing. Zoey held up her stick to block it. It connected, but the impact sent Zoey rolling down the dock. She recovered and saw Jasmine running at her, preparing to strike again. This time, she leaned back, matrix style, the stick just missing the redhead's head.

Confessional (Topher): "Hey, that was my move."

Static.

As soon as the stick passed over her, Zoey stood back up and used her own stick to strike Jasmine's hands. The impact caused the Aussie to loosen her grip and the stick flew out of her hands and into the water. She watched it, surprised.

"Sorry." Zoey said to her. Then she ran back to her team.

"Good job." Scott greeted. "I knew saving you for later was a good idea."

"We didn't determine the order." Zoey said, a bit defensively. "You never told me when to go."

Scott put his arms up and backed off. "Ok, sorry. Just wanted to thank you for tying the game up." He turned around and walked away, trying to hide his grin.

Zoey would've called him out, but decided not to.

Confessional (Zoey): "I know Scott's up to something, but I have no idea what. And if I keep lashing out at him, it might make me look bad." She sighed.

Static

Scott and Ella were the next two competitors to go. The country boy readied himself from his dock.

Zoey nervously glanced at Dawn.

Don sounded the air horn and both competitors headed to the other side. Scott got his with no problems, but Ella ran into some issues.

"Aw, whastamatter, little princess?" Sugar called in a mocking tone. "Ya worried having to hit someone on TV will make us stop buyin' your act?"

Ella smiled, but it was clearly forced. She ran back and saw Scott heading in her direction.

"Block him!" Sky called. "We can't let them take the lead again!"

"B-But I might hurt him." Ella stuttered. "I-I wouldn't dream of doing that!"

"Yeah, because he's lookin' at you!" Sugar interjected. "Way harder to stab 'em in the back!"

"But I-"

SMACK

Scott used the advantage to knock the princess off the dock and into the water. He grinned to himself and went back to his dock.

Ella emerged a few seconds later. "O-Oh, good job." Ella called to Scott, still a bit startled. "A fine swing."

Scott soon arrived and placed his stick on the rack, putting them at five points to the Newbies' four.

Sugar walked up to him. "Ya couldn't have hit her a bit harder?"

Zoey noticed the fearful look on Dawn's face. She leaned towards her. "I-I'm sure she's fine. She likes the princess stuff, so…maybe this reminds of the Little Mermaid?"

Dawn didn't respond, nor did her expression change.

"And with this next match," Don narrated. "Every competitor will have gone once. Let's see how Sky and Topher match up." He blew the airhorn.

Sky bolted forward, but Topher just stood there.

"Dude, what are you doing?" Sam asked.

The wannabe turned around. "I…which way am I supposed to go again?"

His teammates stared in silence. "Forward!" They all answered.

Topher turned back around. "Oh, right." He then went to grab the stick.

Confessional (Topher): "Of course I knew which way to go, I just figured that since I'm the Lindsay of this season, I could play a little dumb for likeability points." He glanced upward. "Now it's just the matter of making my hair brighter."

Static.

Topher arrived at the pile. "Alright, which one to choose…"

"It doesn't matter!" Lightning screamed. "Just pick one!"

He did so and ran back. He saw Sky heading towards him. The Olympian was moving much faster and quicker. Topher couldn't keep up and faltered. He took a swing, but Sky easily dodged it. She sidestepped and hit her opponent in the side, knocking him off and into the water.

"And Sky has claimed a point for her team." Don said, as the Newbie placed her stick on the rack. "Now every player has gone once and we're still tied at five a piece. Three more points will win it for either team. Let's see how they step up their game."

What followed was a montage of both sides trying to win.

Dakota was looking to avenge her earlier loss, but lost concentration when she realized who she was going against. She laughed nervously and waved at Jasmine as she passed. She wasn't watching where she was going and walked right off the dock, much to the Aussie's confusion.

Sugar arrived at the other end of the dock. She saw her former teammate, Ella, waving at her. She responded with a scowl.

Topher kept his clumsy act, but in a more helpful way. He pretended to be distracted by something and turned, only for his stick to "accidentally" knock it into Max, who was pushed off the dock.

B carefully thought to himself. Scarlett was heading towards him, stick in hand. He held his own like a javelin and he tossed it towards her. The redhead didn't know how to react and the dueling stick hit her in the face. The impact knocked Scarlett off the dock, but also sent B's stick back towards himself. He casually caught it, dusting off his fingers with a grin.

Sky watched nervously from her dock. The Newbies were down a point, while the Rookes were one point away from winning. She was even more worried when she saw who her opponent was.

Confessional (Sky): "I can beat Scott in any sort of physical challenge…but I think he knows that. He's tricky, so I need to find a way to out-think him."

Static.

The two started, Sky taking an early lead. They soon grabbed their sticks and headed back. A clash broke out, with Scott barely able to block the Olympian's quick strikes.

He glanced back, in time to see an intern shoot a water gun. The country boy ducked and the water went over him and into Sky's face. She was blinded and stumbled back.

Scott grinned and struck her in the stomach. She fell backwards as Scott went to bring back the stick. Suddenly, there was a snag. He pulled, but didn't budge. He looked back to see Sky, her feet barely on the edge of the dock and one hand on his stick. He tried shaking her off, but Sky still wouldn't let go and he couldn't take another step forward or he'd walk right off the dock.

Confessional (Scott): "I could've just let go and not risk her getting a point, but then Zoey probably would've accused me of sabotaging the team."

Static.

Sky didn't know what to do. She refused to let go, but couldn't think of a way to get back on the dock. What could she-

"Hey!" Sky looked over at her dock. "What are you doing?!" Dave shouted. "Aren't you supposed to be an Olympian?! How on earth are you losing this?!"

Sky stared, but then gave a determined nod. She looked back at Scott and noticed something. His grip on his stick wasn't strong. She looked back at the water. If I hit the water, I lose. She then used her stick to strike Scott's hand, causing him to let go. Then, with all the force she could muster, Sky pushed herself back into a flip. She fell towards the water, but threw Scott's at it. It bounced and bobbed, with the soft part facing up. Sky readied herself and landed on it, immediately pushing it down with her feet. With all the grace she could muster, she flew into the air and landed back on the dock. All without a drop of water on her.

Scott, as well as everyone else, was stunned. Sky wasted no more time and went to put her stick on the rack.

The surprise soon dispersed and the Newbies turned their attention to Dave. "Did…did you just help her win that round?" Jasmine asked.

"What do you mean?" Dave questioned, unaware. "She's training to be in the Olympics, it made no sense why she was struggling to win."

"Yeah…but, she was probably going to lose until you said that."

"Oh, that's…" It suddenly dawned on Dave what he had done. He looked over at Sky, who nodded at him.

Confessional (Dave): "Dang it!"

Static.

"And it all comes down to this," Don announced. "This final tie breaking round will determine the winner. Anyone can compete, so decide carefully who you want going in."

The teams immediately started discussing.

"I'm tellin' y'all. Lightning can do this."

"I think it should be Zoey." Scott added with a smug grin. "She's done well so far."

"I agree." Topher said.

The indie chick just glared at the farmer boy.

"Y'all listening? Lightning has got this."

"We need to plan more accordingly," Dawn said. "Lightning's good, but they're probably expecting us to send him in."

Unbeknownst to them, Sugar was already walking off.

Confessional (Sugar): "I don't have time to listen to all them yappin' and yellin'. Still this ain't as bad as the backstage scene at the LaLaLadies tournament in Kentucky. Those girls could slice a coconut in half with how deep their insults cut."

Static

On the Newbies side, things weren't much better.

"I should do this last round." Jo said. "Whoever they put up isn't going to get past me."

"Unless it's Lightning again," Sky noted. "I should go again. Even if I can't knock my opponent off, I can probably out run them."

"You already played the last round, there's no way you can still go after that."

"I absolutely can."

An argument broke out between the two. The others tried to calm them down, except one. Brick was watching the Rookies side and saw Sugar stepping onto the dock. The cadet narrowed his eyes.

Confessional (Brick): "I failed to impress in my first round. Sky still doesn't think much of me and I need my other new teammates to realize my worth. This might be my chance."

Static

Brick suddenly took off down the dock. The other noticed it, too late.

"What's he doing?" Sky questioned.

"Dooming us all." Jo answered, plainly.

The Rookie and the Newbie passed each other and went to grab their last sticks. When Sugar reached her's, she could hear the chipper cheers from her rival teammate.

"Good luck, Sugar!" Ella waved cheerfully.

The pageant queen didn't bother acknowledging her and she headed back to her dock.

It was at that moment, the Rookies realized what had happened.

Brick had already gotten his and was doing the same. They met in the middle and sticks clashed. It was a fierce battle. Brick stepped out of the way of Sugar's swing, while the pageant queen blocked his stick with her own.

"Sugar's got him on the ropes!" Zoey exclaimed

"Or maybe he's got him." Scott noted. He glanced at his fellow teammates. "But I think we should remember what happened the last time one of our teammates did something without talking to us." He tried to hide his grin, while Zoey just scowled.

Confessional (Topher): "Man, Scott is good."

Static

The showdown continued with neither side budging. The other team members watched in anticipation.

Despite her best efforts, Sugar was tiring, while Brick was gaining momentum. He raised his stick, causing Sugar to block. Brick used the opportunity to strike low, knocking Sugar off her feet, but staying on the dock. He ran forward, but suddenly tripped. Sugar had stuck her stick out in front of his feet. Brick's stick had fallen a few inches ahead of him. He reached for it, but suddenly got struck in the stomach. He slid towards the side of the dock. Just as he was about to go into the water, he turned himself and hung onto the edge, his feet dangling a few inches from being out. Even if he did fall, nothing was preventing him from stopping Sugar.

The Rookies cheered as their new teammate headed towards the safe zone. Though they weren't the only ones cheering.

"Good job, Sugar!" Ella called, surprising her teammates. This irked the pageant queen, but she continued.

"Why are you cheering her?" Sky questioned. "She's on the other team."

"And lest we forget, she hasn't exactly been privy to your idea of comradery." Scarlett noted.

"Friendship doesn't come easy to most." Ella admitted. "But Sugar needs someone cheering for her. Those that push others away must be hiding issues and raising their confidence will do wonders."

Sugar, only a foot away from her platform, suddenly stopped.

"What is she doing?!" Lightning exclaimed

"I…have a bad feeling." Dawn murmured.

The pageant queen slowly turned around, her face glowing a dangerous color of red. "What…did you just say?!" She said, through gritted teeth.

The danger had not dawned on Ella. "That I'm rooting for you, Sugar. You and your quirks."

Sugar's eye twitched. She threw her stick to the side and into the water.

"Hey! We needed that." Sam said, but it fell on deaf ears.

"Now listen here, ya two-timin' jezebel." Sugar was now heading back the other way. "I don't have no issues. I have more trophies than you have brain cells. People don't cheer me to make me feel better, they cheer me because I'm good at what I do!" She jumped to the other dock. Don might've said something, but didn't think it would amount to much.

The angry pageant queen was slowly making her way towards her former teammates. They had wisely stepped back, except one. "I'm so happy for you, Sugar." Ella said, arms stretched out. "I hope we can finally start connecting with each other."

"Oh, we're gonna do some connectin', alright." The pageant queen raised her fists into the air.

Ella finally realized what Sugar had meant. She jumped back, before Sugar brought her fists down, missing the princess and making a big hole in the dock.

"Wait, Sugar. You almost hit me."

"That's the idea." She slammed her fists down again, just missing her target again. Sugar raised her fists a third time.

"Yo, psycho girl!"

Sugar turned around to see Lightning and her teammates waving at her. Dawn had a noticeably worried expression.

"In case you didn't realize," The mega jock shouted. "We're about to-"

Lightning was cut off by the sound of an airhorn. Everyone turned to see Don pull up on his boat. "About to lose is what your teammate was going to say." The host said. "And he was not wrong." He pointed to the Newbies side.

Brick was standing next to the rack, having just placed the eighth stick, creating the fourth X that was needed to win.

Sugar just scoffed and turned around. "Whatever." She raised her arms. "Just means I have nothing distracting me when I-" She suddenly felt something hit her. She tensed up, clenched her teeth and fell forward. A tranquilizer dart had struck her in the back. She landed onto the dock with a loud thud. The angry pageant queen was reduced to a sleepy soul.

"Is…Is she alright?" Ella said, looking over her former teammate.

"First off," Don started, stepping onto the dock with the tranquilizer gun. "I have no idea why you care so much considering she just tried to kill you. Second, yes. She's unconscious but should wake up in an hour or so. And lastly," He looked at Ella's other teammates. "Congrats on the win. Sugar stepping onto the dock would've been an auto DQ, but it doesn't really matter. Your prize for winning are two new swinging chairs that will be added to your patio." The Newbies cheered, except for Ella, who was still in shock over what just happened. Don looked over to the other dock. "As for you guys, well…for the third time…in a row…you're going to the elimination ceremony, and this time, someone will be going home."

The Rookies groaned in defeat. Dawn watched the other team, a sense of regret washing over her.

As the Newbies continued celebrating, Brick stepped aside and thought to himself.

Confessional (Brick): "I realized something. Had Sugar not gone on a rampage like she did, I might've been the one going home. She was on the way to win and I was about to lose after going rogue. Not to mention, Sky's lack of faith in me." He paused, still deep in thought. He sighed. "I think…I need an ally…and I think I know who it has to be…unfortunately."

Static

Ella was walking through the forest, alone.

She seemed in good spirits, but her smile continually kept faltering. The animals walking with her wore nervous expressions.

Ella pushed a bush aside and went to her picnic area. She stopped however. An unexpected guest was sitting in her usual spot.

"Hello." Dawn greeted. "Would you like some tea?" She offered a small cup of hot liquid.

Ella's mouth hung agape. It quickly turned to a smile. "Yes, please. Forgive me, I was not expecting company."

"I'll admit today's meeting was…a little much for me, but I felt it necessary to be here for you, in your hour of need."

"My hour of need?" Ella questioned. "I…don't follow."

"Surely, you must be feeling something over the ordeal you suffered through earlier today."

The princess' smile fell instantly. But once more, it quickly returned. "Oh, bless your heart, but I'm fine. Sugar isn't someone who easily accepts friendship, which just means I need to try harder."

Dawn frowned. "Are you sure that's…" She trailed off, noticing the hopeful and innocent expression of Ella. "That's…great." She faked a smile. "Now, how about we…enjoy the gifts Mother Nature has given us."

Ella happily obliged and sat on her picnic blanket.

Zoey and B were hanging out just outside their cabin. They watched as the interns were setting up the swinging chair on the Newbies cabin. Something was running through Zoey's head.

"Hey, B?" The silent genius turned. "Do…you think it's a good idea to keep pushing Scott's elimination?"

B signed.

"Yeah, I agree, but…he's been doing pretty well so far. I know he's only doing it to make himself look good, but…how do we prove it?"

B responded with a simple shrug.

The two were interrupted when they saw Dakota and Sam heading towards them. The former mutant looked miserable.

"You alright, Dakota?" Zoey asked.

"No…" She mumbled. "I still don't know how to talk to Jasmine. She's so strong and tall and she makes it look so easy." She slumped onto the steps. "I'll never be as good as her."

"You'll be even better." Sam said, sitting next to her. "You're already pretty strong and insanely tall…well not as much as before, but still."

"Yeah, but I won't have the same confidence." Dakota sighed.

"You just need to talk to her, babe." Sam put his hand on his girlfriend's shoulder. "Then once that happens, you'll be even better at kicking ass than you already are."

Dakota managed a small smile and rested her head on her boyfriend's shoulder. "Thanks, babe."

Despite her uncertainty, Zoey was happy to see how Sam had cheered her friend up.

A few hours later, the elimination ceremony was about to begin. All the Rookies were present. Don, however, was not. Instead Mildred and the large intern from the demonstration were present.

"So, I'm holding the marshmallows again?" The head intern asked.

"That's what Don said." The large intern said in an insanely deep voice. He then turned his attention to the competitors. "Hey, everyone. My name is Dory and I'll be announcing tonight's elimination. Eight marshmallows are on the tray and one of you will not receive one. If you don't get one, you're eliminated."

Confessional (Zoey): "This time, he'll be going home."

Confessional (Sugar): "Since I can't vote for that pink stain, I'm gonna vote for the guy who stopped me from smashing her face in."

Confessional (Lightning): "That girl is freaky and we don't need a second."

Static

Dory read over the votes. "Alright, when I call your name, come up and grab a marshmallow. The first one goes to…Dawn." The moon child went up to grab her treat. "Sam." The gamer guy did the same. "The next ones safe are…Dakota, Topher, Zoey, B and Lightning." Now the only two left were Scott and Sugar.

"Sugar." Dory said. "Do you think I'm gonna call your name next?"

The pageant queen just scoffed. "Why wouldn't you? The only reason I'm here is because someone had the nerve to insult me and my pageantry. I'm the victim in all this."

Dory turned to the other Rookie. "And Scott, for the third time-"

The country boy put up his hand, stood up and turned around. "Yeah, for the third time, I'm in the bottom two and I wanted to ask something. Why? What exactly have I done to be here…again? I've done well in all my challenges and yet…" He sighed. "I guess I forgot there was a hierarchy and I'm at the bottom of it." He sat back down.

B, Dawn and Zoey all glared at him, but the others weren't as certain. Topher, however, was in awe.

Dory picked up the last marshmallow. "The person going home tonight is…"

"...Sugar."

The country boy gladly took his marshmallow, glancing back and gleefully eating it in front of the trio who tried to eliminate him.

Sugar, on the other hand, remained surprisingly composed. She slowly stood up, walked forward and turned to face her former teammates. "I…can't say I'm disappointed. But, I've accepted the community's decision to give me the boot. I promise I will come back stronger and a better pageant runner than you've ever seen. In the end, my biggest downfall…was my passion." She took a light bow and walked towards the dock.

The other competitors and interns were just as surprised.

"Well…" Mildred said. "I was expecting her to go, but…not like that."

At the dock, the pageant queen was being strapped into the paraglide of shame. Her former teammates watched on. The interns were soon finished.

Dory held up the remote. "Any last words, Sugar?"

"Last words?" She responded. "What do you mean 'last words'?' That whole speech was meant to be my exit. You're seriously tellin' me I have to come up with another sappy spatterin' of words for a second time?"

"I guess not." Dory pressed the button and sent the boat off its way and the pageant queen into the air and out of sight.

Mildred looked around. "Well…since Donny boy isn't here, maybe I can be the one to-"

"Not on your life." The host suddenly appeared, shoving the head intern aside. He looked at the camera. "As quickly as she joined her new team, Sugar was kicked off of it. Like, almost instantly. Three challenges and three losses in a row for the Rookies. How will they recover? Will they recover? And how will Ella respond to her former teammate's downfall? Hopefully, we'll get our answers on the next episode of…Total…Drama…Omega!"

Y'know, I was not expecting to enjoy writing for Sugar, but I surprisingly had a lot of fun with her. When you're not focusing on gross-out humor, she has more potential than you might think.

And yes, I did use the same challenge from Pahkitew Island. It's actually one I enjoy a bit, even if the episode as a whole isn't great, especially the ending. Anyways, what did you guys think of Sugar? How do you think Ella will react to her downfall? And, of course, who is next on the chopping block?

I love hearing from you guys, so please don't be afraid to leave a review. It always puts a smile on my face. I'll see y'all for the next one. Ciao.
