In the war room, Sasha had placed a map on the table. "Okay guys, this is where they're holding Wigbert." Sasha declared. "He is being held in a makeshift prison and he will be moved tomorrow morning so we need to organise a rescue team and…." Sasha then noticed something odd about everyone this morning.
Pacifica was looking disturbed after the events of yesterday and was being comforted by Dipper. Hunter as well looked traumatised and was being comforted by Flapjack, whom was nuzzling him in his face. While Luz and Amity were both holding each other's hands while their eyes looked tired, as if they didn't have any sleep whatsoever.
"Uh….Is everyone okay?" Sasha asked.
"They don't look it." Hop Pop remarked.
"Honestly, it looks like they haven't had any sleep." Anne said.
"Should we knock them out?" Sprig asked.
"Hey!" Sasha interjected. "Nobody's knocking anyone out. Yesterday was very rough on everyone."
"Yeah, Hunter and Pacifica almost died while Amity's home could be destroyed by her Emperor." What Sprig said got Amity to clench her girlfriend's hand tighter. "Ohhh, shouldn't have recapped that."
"You know what, after what happened yesterday we should have a break." Sasha said. "I mean, I just saw the most terrifying pregnancy in existence and could put me off wanting kids. So, let's have a break. Does anyone want a spa day?"
"Uh….Why does everyone want a spa day?!" Pacifica exclaimed. "Do I look I want a spa day after dying?!"
"Okay, okay, no spa day." Sasha defused her. "What would we like?"
"A chance to rescue King, a chance to get back to the Demon Realm…." Luz stood up and slammed her fist on the table. "…..a chance to save the Demon Realm, a chance to kill Emperor Belos! That's what I want Sasha, because he is in the Demon Realm about to kill everyone, including my friends!" Luz pointed her finger aggressively at Sasha. "And so far, I haven't heard of any plan except find more recruits and destroy more factories!" Luz accidentally activated her Calamity powers due to the rage, causing the wind to blow around the room and for paper to fly over. "That's all it is, no plan to rescue King!"
"Luz! Luz!" Amity stood up and quickly defused her girlfriend. "I know you're angry and scared! But so am I! But I don't think yelling at Sasha is gonna help! We have around a month till the Day of Unity! We have plenty of time to figure out how to handle this!"
Luz quickly calmed down and began to hug her girlfriend. "I lost control."
"I know." Amity said. "I'm scared as well. But, I believe we'll find a way. I promise." The girlfriends sat back down, though still a bit scared for what might come.
"Okay, anyone else got options?" Sasha asked.
"We got nothing Sasha." Polly said.
"Well, I command we have a break." Sasha said. "We can't just be locked up in our caves traumatised."
"Sounds like a regular Saturday." Hunter said.
"What do you think is gonna happen, Sasha?" Dipper asked. "An idea is just going to pop out of nowhere?"
Then, Soggy Joe burst out from the table covered in dirt and splinters. His sudden appearance startled everyone. "Ow! I burst through the table didn't I?" He asked.
"You did." Anne replied as she pulled a splinter from her cheek.
"What intel have you got, Joe?" Sasha asked.
"You remember how I said a few days back I was going to hunt for an underground lake?" Joe asked.
"Yeah." Sasha said.
"Well, I found it and the best part is, there's a beach as well!" Joe said.
"A beach?" Luz shot up.
"Oh yeah." Soggy Joe replied. "Sand and everything."
It was at this moment, a tiny bit of the happy Luz began to come back. "A beach day adventure?"
"Is that something you'd like to have Luz?" Sasha asked.
"Well, me and Amity didn't pack swimsuits for nothing." Luz replied.
"Ah, that's cool." Sasha remarked.
"Shame that I didn't pack my swimsuit." Anne said.
"Honestly, a relief." Sasha mumbled to herself as she blushed.
"Uh, not to worry!" Polly exclaimed. "Because if you look into your bags….I packed swimsuits!"
"Wait, what?!" Anne reacted.
"What again?" Sasha asked.
"What did you say?" Dipper asked.
"Okay, don't be alarmed but I sort of broke into your homes and packed swimsuits." Polly said.
"What?!" Everyone reacted.
"Polly, you wanted a beach day adventure as well?" Luz asked.
"Uh huh."
"Do you even know what that is?" Pacifica asked.
"Oh Beach Day adventures tend to be filler adventure where the main crew takes a break to have a bit of fun." Polly said. "But they're usually excuses to get characters in swimsuits. There's usually a variety of beach games such as volleyball, beach combing and someone getting buried in sand."
"But let's not forget, it could be one of those beach day adventures where it's a fake out!" Luz said. "Where it suddenly turns into a heavy arc filled filler where dark revelations about characters are revealed!" Luz did a dramatic pose that surprised everyone until she calmed herself down. "By the way, how did you know about beach day adventures?"
"She used the internet one time and now she thinks she's the top critic." Hop Pop said.
"Yeah, she's like Duckweed except I'm related to her." Sprig's comment made Polly narrow her eyes at her brother.
"Do not compare me to Duckweed." Polly demanded.
"But how did you pack my swimsuit?" Sasha asked. "My dad always makes sure the burglar alarm is on."
"Okay, it started when I broke into Dipper's home through the cat flap…"
"Actually, that's a pig flap." Dipper said.
"Huh?"
"A pig flap. It's for my sister's pet pig." Dipper said.
"Your sister?" Hunter asked.
"You thought that was my house?" Dipper reacted. "It's actually my sister's house. She usually lets me stay there if I have something important going on in LA."
"Ooookay, so I broke through the pig flap and packed Dipper's swimming trunks and Pacifica's bikini in their sacks." Polly said. "While I also packed a pair of Mr Boonchuy's swimming trunks to fit Hunter."
"Wait, my dad's swimming trunks?!" Anne exclaimed.
Back in the Human Realm, Mr Boonchuy was going through the drawers of the master bedroom and sighed in annoyance. "Ohhhhh, where did I put my swimming trunks?"
Back in Amphibia, Anne was still annoyed with Polly. "You better return those."
"Back to the story!" Polly declared. "Anyway, after giving them their swimming gear, I had Frobo hack into the Waybright residence to give Sasha her swimsuit which I did. Then, I broke into the motel Luz and Amity were staying at but I saw you two packing your swimsuits so I couldn't. Eventually, I returned back to the Boonchuy residence where I went to sleep. But then I realised I forgot to pack Anne's swimsuit so I did that."
"Hang on, I didn't find my bikini while unpacking." Pacifica pointed out.
"It's definitely at the bottom." Polly said.
"So….After that disturbing revelation, are we settled on what we're doing today?" Sasha asked.
"Definitely!" Luz exclaimed.
"Absolutely!" Anne replied.
"Sure." Dipper said.
"Oh yeah." Sprig said.
"I could go for a swim." Hop Pop said.
"I didn't pack a swimsuit for nothing." Amity said.
"I haven't had a beach day, so yeah." Hunter replied.
"I need to sunbathe." Pacifica said.
"Sun don't shine underground." Soggy Joe said from behind Sasha, whom was pulling splinters from his butt.
"Okay, I forgot you were here." Sasha said.
"It's okay." Joe assured them before handing Sasha a piece of paper. "This is the map to the beach."
"But wait Sasha, what about Wigbert?" Anne asked.
"Don't worry Anne, we're gonna assign this mission to top men." Sasha replied.
"Who?"
"Top…..men." Sasha replied intensely. "Okay gang, it's time we have some mandatory fun and that's an order!"
Later in one of the caves, Luz had finished putting her shirt back on that had her swimsuit underneath while Amity was inspecting a beach ball with confusion.
"Wait, when did we pack a beach ball?" Amity asked.
"I think Polly forgot she packed it in our bag." Luz replied.
"Ah." Amity said before she began to stare at her girlfriend with sympathy. "Luz, are you okay?"
"Amity, let's not talk about what's going on in the Boiling Isles." Luz sighed. "Eda, Lilith and Grime probably have this. Besides, they got Raine and with them on their side, they'll have the citizens turn on Belos in no time."
Amity sighed. "I hope so. But that's not what I wished to talk about. On the last day on Earth, your mother told me to be there for you on today of all days." It was at this moment, Luz had figured out what her girlfriend was implying and gave a sad sigh.
"She told you, didn't she?" Luz asked.
"I'm sorry I brought it up, I promised your mom…."
"We'll do it later." Luz assured her. "I promise. Because right now, I want to enjoy a beach day with my girlfriend."
Amity gave Luz a small smile. "Okay Luz, I understand."
Later, everyone, which also included Frobo, Flapjack and Ghost, were following Sasha down a deep tunnel while she held the map. The group had been walking for quite a while that it was causing Hop Pop to groan.
"How much longer are we walking for?" Hop Pop asked. "I don't know how much longer my old man legs can take it."
"Hop Pop, we have been walking for twenty minutes." Anne pointed out.
"Has it really been that short?!" Hop Pop exclaimed.
During the walk, Sprig and Polly had noted that Luz was looking a bit sad while Amity was holding her hand and patting her on the shoulder.
"Hey Polly, is Luz okay?" Sprig asked.
"She's probably still scared of what's gonna happen on the Boiling Isles." Polly theorised.
"I don't know Polly, something is telling me that it isn't that." Sprig said. "Honestly, I feel like she is relating something that hits close to home."
Dipper noted that his girlfriend was looking kind of disturbed and silent. He knew what it was and began to stroke her hair to give her some assurance that he is here.
Anne and Sasha took a few glances at each other which ended with the two of them blushing. Anne stared at Sasha's lips, wondering what they would have felt like she ever kissed her. The mere thought of kissing Sasha caused Anne to turn red in the face.
Hunter on the other hand, was looking kind of worried. Flapjack tweeted in his ear and he turned to his Palisman. "
Then, Sasha grinned. "Okay, according to the map, we're almost here." Sasha declared.
"Great!" Hop Pop exclaimed. "Because if I don't lie down, I'll die."
"HP, stop being overdramatic." Anne said.
Then, they arrived at the beach where they saw the lake which was ginormous that it was causing everyone to be awed by its beauty. The lake had a strange light blue glow like crystals were dormant underwater.
The beach itself of course had sand that glowed under the blue light and there was a huge rock that stood on the shallow part of the lake where someone could dive off of it and into the more deep, parts of it.
"Wow." Anne said.
"Holy Titan, this is beautiful." Amity said.
"Well, I'm gonna die from its beauty." Hop Pop remarked.
Later, everyone were now dressed in their swimming gear. Anne was dressed in the same swimsuit she wore when she and Sprig swam in the forbidden lake, Sasha was dressed in a swimsuit that looked similar to Anne except it was bright red all over, Luz was dressed in an indigo swimsuit that was a tiny bit cropped, Amity was dressed in a black swimsuit, Dipper was dressed in some black swim trunks with a pine tree by the right leg while Hunter's swimming trunks were green with a yellow outline.
Anne and Sasha were busy in the lake, splashing water on each other and laughing. "Hey Anne, do you think this water is sanitary?" Sasha asked.
"Eh, we're underground." Anne said. "It hasn't been affected by pollution."
"Good point." Sasha said before they continued to splash the water against each other.
But unbeknownst to them, a candy wrapper floated past them implying someone had probably caused some kind of pollution.
Meanwhile, Luz was floating on her back in the water relaxing in the coolness of the water. "Ah, isn't this nice Amity?" She then looked to her right and realised something, her girlfriend wasn't there. "Amity?!" She then noticed some bubbles on the surface and began to panic. "AHHH! She can't swim!" Luz quickly dived into the water and returned a few moments with her girlfriend, whom was gasping for air.
"Luz…." Amity coughed. "….I can't swim."
"Yeah, I should have figured that out." Luz agreed.
Sprig and Hop Pop were both floating in the water, relaxing in the cool water. "Ah, isn't this nice Sprig?" Hop Pop asked. "An old frog can get used to this."
"Hey Hop Pop, I think the candy wrapper I had just vanished." Sprig said.
Then, they heard the sound of a boat engine coming towards them and quickly turned to where it was coming from and dived as fast as they could.
Turns out, the thing they were dodging was Polly riding Frobo like they were a jet boat. She stopped and turned to her family, who swam back up.
"Check out the upgrade I gave to Frobo." Polly said. "Pretty sweet, right?"
"You could have ran us over!" Hop Pop exclaimed.
"Just move out of the way." Polly argued before Frobo revved his engine, causing some water to splash Sprig and Hop Pop.
Back on shore, Hunter was sitting on the beach watching everyone have their fun. He didn't feel like going to talk to anyone since he knew that everyone now knows that he is in fact a Grimwalker. Flapjack nuzzled him in the shoulder to comfort him.
"I'm okay Flapjack." Hunter said. "The secrets out. They probably hate me." Flapjack tweeted. "I mean, I'm a Grimwalker. What if they hate Grimwalkers?" Flapjack tweeted. "I betrayed them and now I'm a Grimwalker. As if they couldn't hate me enough."
Pacifica walked up to Hunter and sat down next to him. "Hey kid, you okay? Not going for a swim?"
"Besides almost dying yesterday, now everyone knows that I'm a Grimwalker." Hunter replied. "They probably hate me."
Pacifica sighed. "Kid, I don't know what a Grimwalker is and I don't hate you."
"You don't?" Hunter asked.
"Why would I hate you for that?!" Pacifica exclaimed. "That is ridiculous. Okay, I'll admit when I first met you, I thought you were just an annoying pain in my ass, but you grew on me when I saw you for who you really were. You're a decent kid who was forced to be an awful kid by an abusive family member. But, you care for people Hunter, you're willing to redeem yourself, you defended Wartwood from the Marauders and are willing to continue defending Wartwood even though you know it's not your home. Grimwalker or not, people still see you as Hunter. Because if they hate you for being a Grimwalker, then why did they invite you to the beach?"
"Hey Hunter, you coming in?!" Sprig yelled.
"The water's pretty nice." Hop Pop yelled.
"Just don't drown!" Polly yelled from her Frobo boat.
"Come on Hunter, they still like you." Pacifica said, encouraging him.
"You coming in?" Hunter asked.
"I would but I still need to collect my thoughts." Pacifica replied.
"Okay!" Hunter stood up. "Hey guys, don't forget me!" Hunter quickly ran into the water and dived in.
"Hunter, wait you'll….." But Hunter didn't hear Amity's warning as he dived into the water. But instead of drowning, he resurfaced and began floating on his back. Everyone began to watch Hunter with intrigue.
"Huh?" Anne remarked. "You float?"
"And you aren't even trying." Sasha remarked.
"Yeah. I guess due to me being a Grimwalker, I can float." Hunter theorised.
"Yeah, you're almost like a plank of wood." Sprig remarked before dunking Hunter into the water and then he came back up. Sprig did it a few more times with the same results happening.
"Please don't do that." Hunter requested. "I still can't breathe underwater."
A few moments later, everyone continued to enjoy their time in the lake. Luz and Amity were now sharing a raft made out of Abomination and appeared to be sleeping, Sprig and Anne were both swimming on their backs, Sasha was busy playing volleyball with Polly and were against Hop Pop ans Hunter.
Hunter, having not played volleyball, somehow got the hang of it quicker than he thought he would. He hit the ball to Sasha, who managed to hit it back, but accidentally hitting Hop Pop in the process.
"Ow! My face!" Hop Pop screamed.
Then, while Sasha went to tend to Hop Pop, Polly looked to Luz whom was talking to Amity about something. The witch was busy comforting her girlfriend by snuggling her and kissing her on the head. This sight made Polly worry for Luz and wonder what was going on with her. Her train of thought got ruined when the volleyball hit her.
Pacifica just watched on as she still thought about everything that had happened yesterday. The memory of Granem laughing and Gunter laughing got her to block out all the noise that was going on around her. The most significant and insignificant of all noises were nothing more than just a ringing noise.
Then, her deep thoughts were interrupted when Dipper patted her on the back, soaking wet. "Hey." Dipper said.
"Oh hey." Pacifica said. "I didn't see you for a while."
"I went diving." Dipper replied. "You should see what was making the water glow." He reached into his swimming trunk pockets and pulled out a gem.
"Woah!" Pacifica exclaimed.
"These gems are what was giving the lake its distinct glow." Dipper explained. "Isn't that cool?"
"Ya know, if you were just another dork, I would have shut you up." Pacifica said. "But, you're not another dork."
"You okay?" Dipper asked. "You haven't gone swimming. Plus, sunbathing is kind of impossible."
Pacifica sighed. "I'm still kind of getting used to what happened yesterday. I mean, almost dying."
"I mean, when haven't we almost died?" Dipper retorted. "I mean, today's the anniversary of the Connecticut incident and unfortunately Delvin's death."
"It's just, compared to all these other life and death situations, this was the one where I felt I was close to dying." Pacifica said while her boyfriend wrapped his arm around her. "I mean, I felt the creature clawing at my guts and my stomach was so big that it looked like it was gonna blow. Heck, I swear it was going to explode. It was so terrifying for me Dipper. Sometimes I worry if that thing is still inside me." She held on to her boyfriend while tears fell from her eyes.
Dipper understood what Pacifica was feeling. A long time ago, he felt he was going to die thanks to almost dying from the beast of Connecticut scratching him in the back and bleeding out all over. Though he lived, he still remembered the scars that remain on his back.
"You think it's still inside you?" Dipper asked.
"I sometimes feel it." Pacifica replied.
Dipper then stood up. "Hang on." He walked towards the sack he brought along and pulled out the pregnancy test. He walked to his girlfriend and got down on his knees.
"Lay down, please." Dipper requested.
Pacifica lied down on her back where Dipper lifted up her shirt and pricked the test in her stomach, causing her to cringe. "Ow!"
"Sorry." Dipper then began to stare at the test which was currently scanning her blood.
The former heiress pulled her shirt down and narrowed her eyes at her boyfriend. "You could have warned me!"
"Again, sorry." Dipper said. "After what Loggle told me, I updated the pregnancy test to make it less confusing and it'll just tell me right away whether you're pregnant or not. Plus, Amity told me that Bodywalker exorcisms are 100% effective."
"Not 99.9?" Pacifica remarked.
"Why are most of your products on Earth 99.9% effective?!" Amity exclaimed. "Don't you realise that 00.1% could still affect you? Like, what scientists do you have?!"
"Wait, if it's 100% effective then that…" She heard an aggressive beep and she looked to Dipper, whom was smiling at the test.
"Negative, Pacifica." Dipper responded. "Not a human or weird goblin creature is inside you."
"So, I'm okay?" Pacifica asked.
"Yup. You're perfectly fine." Dipper said before he went back to looking at the gem. "You know, you can just relax. I'm honestly mesmerised by the gem."
It was at this moment, an idea came into Pacifica's head. She looked at the rock that stood in the shallow and was positioned for someone to jump into the deep part.
She grinned and held her boyfriend's face with a flirtatious look. "Why don't you look at a real gem?"
"Uh…..What?" Dipper responded.
"Just, keep your eye on me." She said before standing up and taking off her shoes before beginning to walk. During the walk, she took off her socks and tossed them while Dipper still stared.
She soon took off her pants revealing some purple clothing. It was at this moment, Dipper figured out what his girlfriend was doing and his face went tomato red. Because she soon took off her shirt, revealing her purple bikini that got Dipper speechless.
She flipped her hair as she walked to the rock and then threw her shirt towards the left.
Back at the volleyball game, Hunter was excited as the volleyball began to get close to him. "I got it! I got it!" Then, Pacifica's shirt hit him, blinding him and it caused him to not notice the volleyball coming towards him and knocking him on his back.
"Huh?" Sasha said before seeing what hit Hunter and her eyes went wide. Polly and Hop Pop began to look at Sasha's direction and were both amazed.
They saw Pacifica walking passed them dressed in her bikini. This mere sight made Sasha's face turn red.
"Okay, I refuse to believe Dipper is her boyfriend." Sasha said.
"Wanna bet he kidnapped her and forced her to be his girlfriend?" Polly asked.
"Polly!" Hop Pop exclaimed. "Show some respect to their relationship. It's clear that someone hired her to be his girlfriend."
Pacifica flipped her hair as she continued walking to her destination. She looked back and saw her boyfriend, his face tomato red and with his legs crossed. She chuckled at how cute he was when embarrassed.
She began to climb up the rock where she got the attention of Anne, Sprig, Luz and Amity. "Hey, what's Pacifica doing?" Anne asked.
"Making me question if being hot on Earth is a crime." Sprig said before realising what he said. "And I just said that."
Luz gave Sprig a disappointed look. "Come on Sprig, she's human and you have a girlfriend."
"I mean, you can't deny that it's hot." Anne said.
"I can't deny it is appealing, but if I kept staring then Amity would probably be disappointed." Luz said. "Right sweet potato?" She nudged at Amity, whom was staring at Pacifica, completely spaced out. "Amity?"
Amity quickly composed herself. "Sorry." Amity said.
Then, once Pacifica got to the ledge, she flipped her hair and turned to her stunned boyfriend. "Hey Dipper, keep your eye on me." She dived off the ledge and landed in the deep water.
A few seconds later, Pacifica popped right up, water dripping off of her. She flipped her hair causing water to fly all over and then messed about with it, which was causing Dipper to turn even more red.
Sasha then approached Dipper. "Uh, what does your girlfriend do?"
"She works at a diner and has a weekend job as a yoga instructor." Dipper replied.
Sasha kind of pulled a befuddled face. "Huh. With looks like that, she could be a model and eye candy for a lot of boys."
"Oh believe me, she tried that." Dipper said. "But, the fashion industry isn't all it's cracked up to be. But that's a story for another time."
A few minutes later, Dipper and Pacifica were both holding on to each other whilst floating in the water, Luz was helping Amity swim, Polly and Sprig were busy burying Hop Pop in the sand, Hunter was busy making sandcastles that he somehow succeeded at while Anne and Sasha were on the sand relaxing next to each other.
The two took a few glances at each other before looking away at the lake. Ever since agreeing to a date and finding out how much they liked each other, they couldn't stop thinking about each other.
To Anne, Sasha looked hot, even with a scar. But she loved how caring she was. Whereas Sasha, admired how brave selfless Anne was which probably made her fall for her.
"Soooooo, question, what shall we do for our date?" Anne asked.
"Depending on how long this takes, how about Love Choice 2?" Sasha asked.
"I thought you hated Love Choice."
"Guilty pleasure." Sasha said.
"Okay, but let's hope it's in theatres by the time we're done." Anne said.
"If not, we could probably see Hubbies." Sasha suggested. "Ya know, that romcom starring Billy Psychner and Duke McFalling?"
"Oh yeah." Anne said. "I saw the trailers, it looks hilarious."
"Yeah." Sasha agreed as she blushed at Anne, specifically, her lips. She wanted to kiss her so bad but she felt she didn't have the courage to do it.
Anne wanted the same thing, to give Sasha a kiss on her lips. She stared at the commander's lips, intent on kissing her with all her passion. Until she decided to ask the question.
"Do you want to kiss?!" Sasha and Anne asked simultaneously. They froze and turned red in the face before both responding the same response, "Yes."
Then, without hesitation, the two began to kiss each other on the lips. The kiss felt amazing to them, their stomachs filled with butterflies as they wrapped their arms around each other.
Unbeknown to them, Sprig and Polly were watching from a distance and cheering. "Woo!" Sprig exclaimed.
"Way to go, Anne!" Polly exclaimed.
"Wait, Anne and Sasha are a thing?" Hop Pop asked. "What about Anne's boyfriend we talked about while on Quarreler's Pass? Wasn't his name, Darryl?"
It was at this moment, Anne heard this and opened her eyes. She pulled herself from the kiss and turned to where Hop Pop was buried.
"Okay, this kiss was amazing but we aren't official until the war is over and now I'm gonna kick Hop Pop because he just angered me by mentioning Darryl was my boyfriend." Anne said in one breath.
Then, she ran towards Hop Pop and kicked him into the lake and landing on Hunter, whom was busy floating.
"Uh, thank goodness for this fleshy life preserver." Hop Pop said.
"Uh, you're welcome." Hunter said, uncomfortable with this.
"Oh." Hop Pop said. "Do you mind if I use you to get to shore?"
A few minutes later, Dipper and Pacifica were both laying on the sand, snuggling to each other; Anne and Sasha were busy splashing each other; Hunter was helping to bury Hop Pop in the sand since the old frog found it comfortable somehow; While Luz was busy looking over a photo while Amity comforted her.
Sprig noticed this and gave a sad frown. "Wow, what's getting Luz so bummed out?"
"I have no idea." Polly replied. "Sooo, what do you thinks gonna happen once we're done?"
"Well, at some point after defeating the monster that resides here, we head back and get ready for our next adventure." Sprig replied.
"No, I meant after we're done fighting Andrias and Belos." Polly said. "What happens next?"
"Oh yes, I never thought about it." Hop Pop said. "What happens next?"
"Well, after we save Amphibia, Earth, The Boiling Isles and the entire multiverse, we go home and Anne and I carry on with our adventures!" Sprig replied. "I mean, why would they end? Me and Anne are inseparable. It would be cruel for us to be split apart by some matter of fate."
Polly and Hop Pop gave each other some worried glances before they gave each other nods. "We should let him have this." Polly said.
"We'll talk to him about the heartbreaking reality later." Hop Pop said.
Sprig then continued to stare at Luz, whom was now being cuddled by Amity. "What do you think is wrong with Luz?"
"Should we disrupt her?" Polly asked. "We haven't even had our big monster fight at the end."
"Kids, I think it best to let Luz be." Hop Pop suggested. "Whatever's going on with her is none of our business. So, let's…You're gone aren't you?" Hop Pop saw that his grandkids were gone and sighed. "Well, I'm too relaxed to move."
Sprig and Polly approached the girlfriends with curious yet sincere expressions. "Hey Luz." Sprig said.
"Wassup, girl?" Polly asked.
Luz turned to the frog siblings and gave them a friendly yet sad smile. "Oh, hey you two."
"Can we help you?" Amity asked.
"Is it about Hunter?!" Luz asked with concern.
"Don't worry." Sprig said. "He's just floating in the water fast asleep." He points to Hunter, whom was sleeping while floating in the water.
"Remind me to get him once we're done." Polly said.
"It's not about Hunter, me and Polly have noticed you aren't looking like yourself today." Sprig said. "Is it about the Demon Realm?"
Luz sighed. "It was before, but today is different for me."
"Luz, are you sure you wish to talk to the Plantars about it?" Amity asked.
"Amity, I can't be in the dark about this." Luz said before turning to the Plantars. "Okay, I tend to not talk about this since it happened a long time ago and I act like it's not an issue, but it still hurts to think about it." Luz took a deep breath. "Today's the anniversary of my dad passing away." Sprig and Polly instantly were silent at the mention of Luz having a dead parent as they have experience with this sort of thing.
"Oh Luz." Polly responded.
"We're so sorry for making you bring this up." Sprig said.
"It's okay guys." Luz assured them while Amity wrapped her arm around her's. "This is the 7th year without him and honestly, it still hurts a bit."
"How did he die?" Polly asked.
"Polly!" Amity exclaimed.
"It's okay." Luz assured her girlfriend. "My dad, was a cop in Gravesfield. He was investigating some disappearances. He was sick. He had stage one cancer and was about to head into chemo very soon but then, some rich monster shot him dead because he got too close." Luz wiped away some tears. "After his funeral, me and mom went out to pick up some flowers since it was giving flowers on our birthdays was something he did for us on our birthdays. I was too young to lose him that day. I try and remain the happy and enthusiastic self you know, but it still hurts to think about it. After we're done here, me and Amity are gonna go round Amphibia to pick some flowers to honour him since I can't be with mom right now."
"Do you remember your dad?" Polly asked.
"Honestly, if you're wondering where I get my enthusiastic attitude from, it's from him." Luz said. "Despite the serious job, he always had an enthusiastic attitude about everything. Even when he was sick, he was enthusiastic he'd make it. I wish he had more." Luz began crying while Amity patted her on the shoulder.
Sprig stared at Luz sympathetically and sighed. "I know what it's like to lose parents. Mine and Polly's parents were eaten by herons. Hop Pop was out on a trip that day. When he got back, he instantly became our guardian."
"You know Luz, it's good you remember your dad." Polly said. "I can't even remember my parents. I lose them when I was just a baby. I can't even remember what they look like. I guess it's a good thing we have pictures."
"Yeah. Good thing I brought my picture of my dad along with me." Luz said before looking at the sand around her. "Hey, where's the picture?" She began to panic as she stood up. "Oh no, where is it?!"
"Luz, it couldn't have gone far." Amity assured her.
"Calm down, maybe it was the wind." Sprig theorised.
"The wind?" Polly reacted. "Sprig, I doubt the wind could have taken it because I haven't felt wind since we got here." Then, Polly felt a breeze and then shrugged her shoulders. "Okay, wind."
"Oh, I hope it hasn't gone far." Luz said before she noticed Dipper and Pacifica approach them.
"Oh hey, Dipper and Paz." Sprig said. "What's going on?"
Dipper hand in his hand, what appeared to be some kind of photograph. The two of them looked kind of sad and guilty.
"Luz, I believe this is yours." Dipper hands her the photograph of her father doing a poor selfie. While in the back, a baby Luz, her mouth covered with cake, was looking at a yellow flour with amazement while being held by her mother.
Luz took it and stared at the two with confusion and worry. "Is there something wrong?"
Pacifica sighed. "Luz, we're so sorry."
"It's okay." Luz said. "You weren't there."
"Luz, we were there." Dipper's response made Luz, Amity, Sprig and Polly shocked. Luz especially was finding it hard to believe.
"What?"
"Luz, we had no idea that you're dad was Delvin before you start yelling." Pacifica said.
"My dad was named Manny." Luz said. "But then again, he always used his middle name during undercover missions."
Dipper and Pacifica sat down with Luz following. "I swear, I had no idea of this coincidence." Dipper said.
"Don't apologise, he wanted to help, you didn't force him to." Luz said. "Now I'm beginning to realise that the man who shot my dad was your dad, Pacifica."
Pacifica sighed with guilt. "Luz…."
"Don't apologise." Luz tensed which lead Amity to wrap her arms around her. "It's not your fault you're related to him." Luz had tears falling from her eyes. "He's where he belongs."
Dipper and Pacifica had felt guilty about Manny's death for years, but knowing that he was Luz's dad made them more and more guilty. Plus, it gave Pacifica a bigger excuse to give her father an earful at the next visit.
"I think it's best you two leave." Amity suggested.
"Yeah, we're about to." Dipper said before he and Pacifica stood up and walked away.
"Does she hate us?" Pacifica asked.
"She's just in shock over this coincidence." Dipper assured her. "I still feel guilty for failing to save him, but you shouldn't blame yourself either."
"But, I'm the daughter of the man that killed her father." Pacifica argued. "How can I not feel guilty?"
Dipper took her hand. "Paz, we couldn't control your dad's actions but we did stop him. We stopped him from killing and hurting more people. He'll never do it again."
Pacifica knew her boyfriend was right but she also had a feeling that Luz would never forgive them for the coincidence even though she said she does.
Later on, the group decided to pack up and head back to the resistance base. After getting dressed back into their clothes and packing their things, Luz and Amity went out to Amphibia to pick up some flowers.
They luckily found some and walked towards a cliff. Luz had found a handful that were damaged due to Andrias' polluting while Amity found ones that were dead.
"This honestly would have been easier if Andrias didn't damage the ecosystem." Amity said.
"Hang on." Luz drew a plant glyph on the ground and activated it which caused flowers to sprout. She stared at them as tears began to fall.
"Mind if we join?" The two turn around and saw Sprig and Polly holding some tulips in their hands.
"I hope we aren't cheating." Polly said. "Chuck was handing these out for free."
"Nah, don't worry." Luz assured them. Then, the Plantar siblings handed the tulips to Luz.
"Mind if we join?" The four turn to see Dipper and Pacifica, with some perfectly healthy flowers in their hands.
"Where did you get those?" Amity asked.
"We found these out on back." Pacifica replied. "They were some of the healthiest ones that Andrias left unaffected."
The two approached Luz who gave them a gentle smile. "You know, I'm glad I have some people to help me get through today. Besides my girlfriend."
"So, you're not mad at me and Pacifica?" Dipper asked.
"Don't worry. I was never mad at you." Luz assured them. "I know I may seem it, but I was just shocked." Despite the forgiveness, Luz now had a sense of vengeance in her heart since she now had someone she needed to visit once Andrias and Belos were done.
"So, now what do we do with the flowers?" Sprig asked.
Amity formed an Abomination balloon and Luz tied the flowers to it before gently letting it go. The balloon floated away while everyone watched on.
Luz held her girlfriend's hand and looked to everyone who she told about this day. Back when she was 7, she didn't have anyone besides her mother to help her get through this day. She smiled, knowing she had more people to rely on.
"Hey guys, aren't we forgetting something?" Polly asked.
"I don't know." Pacifica responded. "Luz, are we missing something?"
"Not really." Luz replied. "But there is a nagging thought that we forgot something."
"Nah, it's not something, someone." Sprig froze. "Oh no! We left Hop Pop at the beach!"
Back at the beach, Hop Pop was still buried in the sand. The old frog had been buried there for an hour and had been waiting for someone to free him.
"Uh….Hello! Guys! You left me behind!" Hop Pop yelled. "I'd get up, but I'm too lazy. Well, least we know there isn't a lake monster."
Then, a giant reptilian creature rose from the water and made a ginormous roar and had its eyes leered at Hop Pop. The old frog screamed before jumping out of the sand and running out of the cave.
