After her shower, Thea dressed, stopping to look in the mirror, which she hadn't done since losing Roman. Taking a deep breath before making her way down.
"Right on time", Roman said, serving the drinks.
"Looks amazing", she said with a smile.
Roman and Joey high fived.
"We are a good tag team, aren't we", Roman said.
Joey nodded. She took her plate to the table. Roman set her drink down before pouring himself a glass of wine and one for Thea.
She grabbed a plate and they sat to eat. Joey watched her mom as she took a bite. Thea moaned.
"This is really good. Wonderful job", she said.
Joey looked proud of herself. Roman took a sip of his wine.
"Do you think it would be okay to use the office down here? I need to get some work done", Roman said.
Thea smiled.
"Its your office, go right ahead", she replied.
He nodded.
"Did you watch anymore of those dvds you made?", she asked.
"Not yet, but I am looking forward to it", he replied.
She nodded and looked at her daughter.
"Did you have fun with auntie Nikki?", she asked.
"Yup, but I like it when daddy watches me more", her daughter replied.
Roman smiled.
"I love being with you too sweetheart", he replied.
Roman looked at Thea.
"I was wondering if we could talk later, you know, once Joey goes to bed", he said, before taking another bite.
Thea nodded.
"We can", she replied.
He smiled. He was going to ask her out and to let her know she could date that cop guy as well.
He didn't want her too, but if he wasn't what she wanted anymore, he couldn't stop her from being happy with someone else.
"Is it about Joey? Was Nikki rude when you picked Joey up?", Thea asked.
"No babe, its about us", he replied.
Babe? She hadn't heard that in a long time.
"Okay", she said softly.
She pushed some gravy around. Joey watched them with a smile on her face as she chewed her food. She didn't know what they were talking about.
"Mommy, can we go to the park when you don't have to work?", Joey asked, breaking the silence.
"Of course.", Thea replied, brushing a curl away from her daughter's forehead.
Joey giggled.
"Can you come daddy?", Joey asked.
"I wouldn't miss it kiddo", he winked.
Joey smiled.
Roman watched from the door way as Thea tucked Joey in and read to her.
It broke his heart to think of so many nights he missed tucking in his daughter.
"Goodnight daddy", Joey said, yawning.
He smiled.
"Goodnight baby girl", he replied.
Thea turned on her night light and then turned out the light, closing her daughter's door just a bit.
Roman was leaning against the wall. She turned to face him.
"So you said you wanted to talk", she reminded.
He nodded and took her hand, making their way back downstairs. He let her hand go once they reached the living room.
Sitting opposite each other. Her hands in her lap. What was going on? He seemed a bit nervous now.
"Would you like a glass of wine or maybe some water? Juice, I know we have juice", he said quickly.
"No, I'm good. What's this about?", she asked.
She quickly jumped up.
"Is your family trying to take Joey from us? They can't just do that", she shouted.
He stood in front of her, hands on her shoulders.
"No, hey, Thea I would never allow them to take her from us. She is ours", he said, quickly calming her fears.
"Then what's this about?", she asked, slowly sitting back down.
Once he knew she was calm, he sat beside her.
"I know you have that date with the cop soon. Honestly, I don't like it. Before you ask, no I don't remember a thing still, but I feel it. I was hoping to get back what I lost, including you", he said.
She wanted to speak, but let him finish.
"I was hoping we could start off by dating again, talking. Then that cop showed up and ruined my plans.", he sighed.
He cleared his throat.
"I know its a lot to ask, because you've gone through so much. Would you be willing to date me too? I won't stop you from trying to move on because who knows, maybe you'll fall in love with this cop guy instead. I'm just asking for a chance", he finished.
He bit his lip. Thea opened her mouth, but before she could say a thing, Brie and Dean walked in.
The couple froze at the door.
"Sorry, did we interrupt something?", Brie asked, looking between Roman and Thea.
Roman smiled and shook his head no.
"I've said all I need too. The rest is up to Thea.", he said.
Brie nodded and looked at her sister. Thea couldn't take her eyes off Roman. He looked at her.
"I'll give you time to think it over. You know where I am", he said, before standing and going to his room.
Dean and Brie continued to look at Thea, who looked stunned.
"Thea?", Brie asked, taking a step towards her sister.
Thea looked at Dean.
"Did you know about this?", she asked.
Brie looked at Dean, who looked between the women with his hands up.
"I need more info than that", he said.
"He asked me out", Thea said.
Dean nodded and set his hands down.
"Oh yeah, its been on his mind", Dean said casually.
Brie slapped his arm.
"Baby", he pouted.
"Why?", Thea asked.
"I can't give that information, only he can. Just like I couldn't tell you he wanted to try dating you again", Dean said.
Thea quickly made her way up.
"Thea, please remember Joey is asleep", Brie said after her sister.
Thea made it to Roman's room and closed the door behind her.
"Why?", she asked.
He went to answer, but she cut him off.
"Why now? After all this time. I tried, remember. You left, you walked out. I tried", she said.
He nodded and stood in front of her.
"Because I must have found something in you that made me stay. Babe, I was picky as fuck, shit, still am. For some reason, I chose you and I want to know why", he said.
"And then what? You throw me away?", she asked.
He shook his head.
"No. Thea, I would never do that. I'm sorry for before, but I was scared. You were a stranger to me", he said.
She took a step back.
"I still am, Rome", she said softly.
He closed the space between them.
"No you aren't. Please Thea, give me a chance.", he said.
Her heart won out.
"Fine", she said.
"You don't have to answer right away, you can…", she cut him off.
"Just take it before I change my mind", she said.
He chuckled and nodded. He was shirtless and she couldn't help but admire his body. He was fit and, well she wasn't.
She never knew what he saw in her. He was perfection. Before she knew it, he was pulling her in by her shirt.
"Want to spend the night in my room?", he asked.
His lips inched closer.
"Mommy", Joey called.
Thea snapped out of it and stepped away.
"I'll get her", he said.
"No, its okay. I got her", she said, before quickly leaving his room.
Dean showed up next.
"So?", Dean asked.
"She agreed", Roman replied with a smile.
Dean nodded.
"I love you, brother, but if you hurt her, I'm disowning you", Dean said.
Roman chuckled.
"I don't plan on losing her. Like I said, I chose her for a reason. All I need to do is figure it out.", Roman said.
Dean nodded.
"Goodnight, and no sleeping with her till after your first date, at least", Dean said.
Roman chuckled.
"Scouts honor", Roman replied.
