Chapter 20
AN: Mature Section XXX
Kara and Lena spend the rest of the day planning the wedding, hoping to do it soon since they don't have to wait for a venue and so they can get started on what Kara has started calling Operation Little Bean.
After finishing the takeout they ordered, the couple settles down on the lounge chair, hoping Kara can soak up the last few minutes of sunlight. Kara is laying back nodding off as she allows her Kryptonian cells to absorb the light with her arms around Lena's waist as she works through simulations on her laptop.
Lena is rather comfortable here, sitting between Kara's outstretched legs while working on how to give them a child. Even though her leg is cramping, she really doesn't want to move as she in engrossed in her project and doesn't want to move from Kara's embrace or risk waking her.
"Lee what's wrong?", Kara asks groggily.
"Nothing why", Lena says, looking over her shoulder and using Kara's movement to straighten her leg.
"Your heartbeat got fast", Kara says, still blinking the sleep from her eyes.
Lena gets the usual warmth in her chest whenever Kara says something like this that shows how much she cares before the meaning behind Kara's statement hits. Their eyes go wide at the same time and Kara lays her head against Lena's back, right where her heart is as Lena exclaims, "Your powers are back!".
"I missed this", Kara says, reverently as she listens to the soothing cadence of Lena's pulse.
"This was probably the longest they've been gone", Lena says, setting her laptop aside to turn around in Kara's arms.
"Yeah", Kara agrees, pulling Lena until she's straddling her, and Kara can rest her head against her chest, "I didn't really have any high adrenaline situations to jump start them. I just had to rest and let myself recharge".
"You've been pushing yourself pretty hard lately", Lena says, scratching at Kara's scalp.
"Hypocrite", Kara teases, leaving a kiss just above the neckline of Lena's shirt and pulling back to look at her.
"I never said I didn't", Lena defends, just as Kara's phone rings.
"Saved by the bell", Kara teases, as she answers the call, "What's up, Alex".
"Yeah, my powers just came back", Lena hears Kara responds.
"Tomorrow?", Kara says.
"Yeah, we can do it here. Lena would probably like to catch up with Sam", Kara adds, giving Lena a questioning look to which Lena nods, because yes frankly they haven't had enough girl time outside of 5 minutes in her office every once in a while.
"Cool. Love ya sis", Kara says before hanging up. "You cool with going over to Sam's tomorrow night?", she asks turning to Lena.
"Sister night?", Lena asks, and when Kara nods, continues with a smirk, "Sure you guys can have sister night here and we'll have sister-in-law night there".
"But they're not married?", Kara asks in confusion.
Lena cups her face with a loving grin and says, "Neither are we".
"Yet", Kara cuts in.
"Yet", Lena agrees, "besides it's totally coming. They'll take it slow because of Ruby and Alex's past experiences but I'll bet a million bucks, they will".
"Lena!", Kara says, "Yeah they probably will eventually but I don't have a million bucks".
"Yeah, you do. What's mine is yours", Lena laughs, "I'll just pay myself".
"Ok, ok", Kara says, "but there should be terms".
"Ok", Lena agrees, transforming in a business demeanor, even as she's still straddling Kara, "if they're engaged within two years I win".
"Two years of dating or two years from today", Kara asks.
"Of dating", Lena answers.
"Deal", Kara agrees, and Lena holds out her hand as if this is a true business transaction. Kara laughs but shakes, "Do I need to sign a contract too".
"Verbal agreement is binding enough for this deal", Lena says.
"I love you", Kara says, a goofy smile on her face.
Lena's business mask fades into a smile of her own. " And I love you", she responds before wiping the goofy look off Kara's face with a kiss.
"I come bearing pizza and potstickers", Alex announces as Kara lets her in.
"Gimme gimme gimme", Kara says, letting the door swing shut as she makes grabby hands at the food Alex has brought.
"Geez calm down", Alex says, as Kara runs away with the bag of potstickers leaving her with the pizza.
"Ok", Kara says, dropping on the couch, "What did you wanna talk about?".
"Who says I wanted to talk. We just haven't had a sister night in a while and…", Alex starts.
"Alex", Kara cuts her off, "You're rambling. What's up?".
"Ok wait", Alex says, standing back up, "I need a drink first. Where's Lena's scotch?".
"In the cabinet", Kara says and waits impatiently for Alex to return. As soon as the redhead has sat down Kara asks, "Soooo…".
"So", Alex says, taking a drink and then a deep breath, "Sam asked me to move in".
Kara cheers and throws her arms around her sister, "Yayyy I'm so happy for you. Wait you said yes, right?".
"Duh, Kara. I said yes", Alex replies rolling her eyes.
"Yayyy", Kara says, hugging her sister again, "You need help moving stuff?".
"I'll probably donate my furniture so all I have to move is the rest of my clothes and stuff", Alex says.
"Alex is moving in", Sam blurts as soon as Lena sits down beside her.
"And we're happy about this… right?", Lena says, as she swirls the wine in her glass.
"Oh yeah completely, I just haven't told Ruby yet", Sam says, looking nervous.
"Hey", Lena says, moving closer so she can put an arm around her friend, "Ruby is going to be elated".
"I know that I just… it's always been just us and I'm afraid the change is going to bother her", Sam says.
"Alex has been here every night for the last how long?", Lena teases, "Plus Ruby loves her and loves you guys together. It going to work, you'll see. There is way too much love between the three of you for it not to".
"Therapy?", Sam asks.
Lena smiles but shakes her head, "Nope. Loving a Danvers taught me that one".
Sam laughs at that and raises her glass, "To loving a Danvers sister".
"To BEING loved by a Danvers sister", Lena says, and they clink glasses.
"So, what about you and Kara", Sam asks.
Lena's smile grows so much her dimple starts to show, "She's amazing… even when she's sick and clingy, she's just so caring and cute and everything I never thought I'd have".
"Ok", Sam sighs, "One adorable Kara is amazing story, go".
Lena takes a moment to think and then lights up when she realizes the perfect one, "I got caught up in a project and even without being able to listen to my heartbeat, she still knew just when I needed a break and got Jess to come me".
"And I'm sure Jess was all for getting you to take a break", Sam teases.
"Well yeah", Lena says, "Even though I've been home all week".
"Well, yeah", Sam repeats, "And even though you were at home, how much time did you spend on your laptop". Lena doesn't answer, taking a drink with a guilty look on her face. "That's what I thought", Sam says.
"It really wasn't that much and the project I got dragged into was personal", Lena tries to defend herself.
"Oh, your super-secret project that's not even on the servers", Sam says.
"It contains sensitive enough information that even I don't trust my self-built firewall", Lena says.
"Am I allowed to know what it is", Sam asks.
"It's Kryptonian information about the matrix", Lena admits, hiding her blush behind her glass.
"Matrix?", Sam asks, "Like the movie where they're stuck in the simulation". Lena gives her a weird look at the reference, "Alex made me watch it, all four of them. She had the originals and we free trialed HBO Max to watch the newest one".
Lena chuckles at this, "No it's not like that. It's their match making system but I'm using the information for the DNA combining to make a baby".
Sam's eyes go wide at this revelation, "You're having a kid?".
"Yeah", Lena bites her lip, trying, and failing, to suppress a grin, "With this technology I can combine Kara's and my DNA and create an embryo to implant".
"Are you gonna carry?", Sam asks, eyes slightly watering.
"Yes", Lena admits, happier than she ever thought she could be.
"Oh", Sam cries out, and flings her arms around Lena, "I'm so happy for you. You're gonna love it even when you hate it".
Lena laughs at this, "I'm going to need advice and you're the only mother figure I know".
Sam preens at this even as tears well in her eyes. "It's 95% loving them and 5% guessing and hoping it works", she says, "But you and Kara… you have someone to help you and you two are gonna love that baby so much".
Lena nods and swallows back the tears, "Thank you but actually we're getting ahead of ourselves. First the wedding".
"Right", Sam says, "Have you picked a date?".
"We talked about it, and we want something small so we're just going to figure out a weekend that works for everybody, hopefully soon, and just do it on the beach in Midvale", Lena says.
"That sounds great", Sam gushes.
"Yeah", Lena says, "with who we are we want something small, no press, no business, just us and our family". She takes a deep breath before continuing, "And with that… I came here with a bit of an ulterior motive. I know Kara is going to ask Alex to stand up with her and I was hoping you'd do it for me? And Ruby if she says yes".
Sam's tears finally fall as she throws her arms around Lena again. "Of course", she says, with a choked voice, "I am so happy for you".
"Thank you", Lena replies, her voice breaking as well.
After eating and talking about Alex and Sam's relationship, Kara steels herself for the new she has.
"What's up?", Alex says, turning to her, "You're not pouncing for the last potsticker".
"Huh", Kara says, coming out of her nervous trance, "Yeah, uh, so you know how Lena and I are engaged?".
"Yes", Alex laughs, "it's all you've talked about before and since the proposal".
"Right", Kara nervously laughs, "So we kind of talked about stuff and we decided for a small wedding because we don't want people crashing it".
"Smart", Alex says.
"We just want our friends and family there and we want to do it at the beach in Midvale and…", Kara stops her rambling to take a deep breath, looking down at her fidgeting hands, "and I was wondering if you would stand up there with me as like a best man/maid of honor thing".
"Really", Alex asks, her brown eyes shining with tears.
"Yeah, you're my sister and my best friend and you've helped me with everything ever since I landed here and of course I'm going to ask you", Kara says, finally looking up at Alex's tear-filled eyes, "So…".
"Yeah, of course, I'll stand with you, sis", Alex says, and Kara lets out a sigh of relief as they both go in for a hug. "Did you think I was going to say no?", Alex asks, after they pull back.
"No", Kara admits, "but I was still nervous, besides I'm pretty sure Lena is asking Sam and probably Ruby to stand with her".
"That's good", Alex says, but the conversation is cut off by her ringing phone, "shit it's J'onn", she says, answering it.
"Sixth and Poplar got it, we're on our way", Alex hangs up.
"Need a lift?", Kara asks, already in her suit.
"Another alien", Alex sighs, "let's go".
Kara scoops her up and shoots out the balcony door.
After dealing with yet another insane alien, Kara is ready to crash. Thank Rao she didn't blow her powers this time or Lena might actually kill her. She gives Alex a lift home and picks up Lena, landing hard on their balcony as she feels her powers are exhausted.
"Come on darling", Lena says, "shower and then under the sun lamps with you".

Kara lets Lena drag her by the hand into the bathroom and double tap the emblem to get her out of the suit. Kara returns the favor, tugging at the hem of Lena's sweater to get her to raise her arms so she can take it off her, before moving back down to unbutton her jeans.
"I thought you were exhausted", Lena teases, with an eyebrow raised.
Kara stands back up, trailing her hands up Lena's legs until they rest around her waist. "I'm never too exhausted for you", she says before leaning in to kiss Lena as she unhooks her bra.
Lena copies her, their lips only breaking when Lena pulls the sports bra over Kara's head.
Kara speeds over to turn the shower on and let it warm up before returning to Lena and picking her up. Lena lets out a whimper as she wraps her legs around Kara's waist, her center brushing against her abs. Kara carefully maneuvers them into the shower and braces Lena against the cold tile. The contrast between the cold at her back and Kara's warmth pressed against her front causes Lena to arch even further into Kara, who takes the invitation to move her kisses down the column of Lena's throat until she's sucked a purple mark under her jaw, on her pulse, and on her collarbone.
Lena's head falls back against the warming tiles and moans as Kara works the skin across her chest, "God Kara".
"Mhmm", Kara murmurs against the skin, kissing her way back up to Lena's earlobe. "I miss this", she says, tugging the skin between her teeth, "remind me never to get sick again".
"Stop teasing", Lena moans out, trying to get friction against Kara's stomach.
Kara gently sets Lena down on wobbly legs, kissing her again, before making her way back down her body, stopping to pay proper respects to her chest under Lena gets antsy again and Kara runs a finger through her slit, collecting the wetness the has pooled between her thighs.
"God Kara", Lena whines again, "Please".
"Please what", Kara says, nipping at Lena's stomach teasingly.
"Please fuck me…", Lena's statement turns into a whine as Kara finally listens.

After Kara drops her off, Alex finds Sam still sitting on the couch. "Hey babe", she greets Sam with a kiss, earning her a big smile.
"Hey", Sam says, "you seem stressed".
"Just another alien showed up today, but we were able to take them down pretty quickly", Alex says, "Nothing a little home time can't fix".
"I like that", Sam says, kissing Alex, "home".
Alex grins as she resumes the kiss, "me too".
"When do you want to tell Ruby", Sam asks.
"Whenever she gets home from her sleepover I guess", Alex shrugs, "Why? Do you think she's going to take it bad?".
"No not at all", Sam soothes, "I think she's going to be elated".
"Elated", Alex teases.
"Lena's phrasing", Sam laughs.
"Ah makes more sense", Alex says, leaning in close again, "Well I would be just elated if you would join me upstairs?".
"Ruby's not coming home tonight", Sam teases, "and I'm rather comfortable right here".
Alex smirks at this and kisses Sam, gently laying her back across the couch until she's hovering over her.
Thoroughly sated and finally clean, the couple collapses into bed. Lena curls against Kara and Kara hums contently as she pulls Lena closer.
"I asked Sam to stand with me", Lena admits.
"I asked Alex", Kara says.
"I also think I may have made a breakthrough with the embryo stuff", Lena says, turning her head so she can look up at Kara's face.
"Really", Kara says, an excited grin on her face.
"Yeah, Sam said I might be overthinking it", Lena says, "and I need to test the simulation, but I think it will work. I don't want to test with real DNA yet, but I think I've got it".
Kara leaves a kiss on her forehead and Lena sits up a little so they can connect their lips, "You are amazing Lena Luthor".
"I want Brainy to look over it and make sure so I don't get my hopes up or something could go wrong with the pregnancy but… I really think I've got it", Lena says.
"I can't wait to marry you, to have a baby with you, to create our own little family with you", Kara says, putting their foreheads together, "I love you so much".
"I love you", Lena echoes, "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life loving you and our little family".
