Chapter 41

Sails of Hope

Two days came and went and everyone was now fully readied for the journey ahead. The location Jack and his crew showed them was the same as Kiralexia was reprimanded when first meeting him. When class 1-A, 1-B, or at least a part of them, first found them, they were getting supplies on small boats to take to the rest of the fleet. Of course the teachers brought over was Midnight, All Might, and Aizawa of all people, he wasn't exactly thrilled but believed he'd keep an eye on everyone so they don't do anything stupid. Of course Vlad King had arrived later with the rest of 1-B, though how useful they would be or how much they could learn, will have to wait and see. Jack was seen ordering his men to haul ass with a few crates and when one was almost dropped he was told to be careful, the cargo was fragile.

Jack noticed Kiralexia and Hina Mineta and smiled when he saw the two giving them both firm handshakes. Kiralexia said to wait a bit longer as some students haven't arrived yet. He groaned but agreed even if he was already risking a LOT with this as it is. After almost thirty minutes of waiting, the students from the other schools arrived along with Toga, Twice, and Mei Hatsume, who were busy trying to get Hatsume away from her work. Cami was the first along with earthquakes and whirlwind and Jack looked over and asked if this was everyone. Kiralexia said yes, though more may arrived later. Jack accepted and got everyone's attention.

"Alright everyone LISTEN UP. From this day forward you sail with the Pirata Lord of the sea, and for that you all shall be apart of my crew. That means cleaning, cargo management, and anything else we need you for. Any complaints shall be punished accordingly." Jack said with authority.

Everyone agreed and all began to board the ships one by one. Kiralexia boarded with Ashido and Toga and looked back as many people began to wave goodbye to them. Mostly family, and other students, yet even the Militia had come over. He even saw Hera and decided to hop out and hug him and thanking all of the parents for this moment. He promised them that they'd return safely. After that he hopped back in the boat and began there ride to the battle ship. Of course with the sizes of the ships, not all of the classes could fit on the flagship so where split top other ships. Ashido, Toga, Kiralexia, and some others from 1-A along with Midnight, went with Jack to the flagship, while everyone else was with other ships, such as cruisers, and light frigates.

Kiralexia and Ashido both aided in getting the dingy onto the ship and got the cargo on there dingy onto the ship. Jack followed suit with some pirates with him as well. Midnight got on with Tsuyu and Midoriya all of them carrying cargo towards a designated spot so that they may move later. Kiralexia put his down as did everyone else everywhere else. In short they were supplied, and ready for the voyage ahead. Jack then went to Kiralexia and asked as to where they were going.

"If this device is accurate, somewhere in central Siberia."

"Siberia?" Jack asked confused and shocked. He then sighed a bit before continuing. "Look I can't get you to such a place afterall, that's across a frozen maw, the closest I can give you is Kamchatka but that's it, after that you're on your own."

"Alright that's as much as I can ask from you. Thank you." Kiralexia said with Jack just acknowledging it.

After that a bit of the trip was uneventful. Cleaning the deck, checking over supplies, and even doing guard duty, not much happened. Sure the sky was becoming darker with clouds, yet it was still relatively relaxed. That is until about an hour into there trip Jack had an uneasy feeling, someone or something was on that wasn't supposed to be there. Kiralexia was out just slouching against a box when he saw Jack come to him.

"Hey I know this trip is a while but I can't be the only one here sensing someone else is here with us." Jack asked with Kiralexia getting up and moving to another set of boxes.

"Aye I understand but we shouldn't fret, you have me on the ship."

"Still I don't like it if the League found out."

"Oh something tells me the already know."

"What do you mean?"

"This." Kiralexia retorted as he punched the side of a box he was now next to.

As he punched it a person came out of it, covered in packing peanuts, AND a few explosives. Upon a second look from Jack he could see it was Dabi, a bit dazed from being forced out of the box. Kiralexia picked them up and looked them hard in the face with a stern look. They came to and looked around as a bit of the crew and Jack looked at him rather angrily.

"Alright start talking, why are you here?"

"Ugh your little stunt with the Nomu made Handjob really pissed and curious about you. So when he heard about this he sent me to spy and gather intel."

"Cute, but you're not getting anything. The only thing you're getting is a bunch of water in the ocean." Jack said pulling out his pistol.

"Now hold on, I have a better idea for him." Kiralexia said.

"What? Do I need to remind you you're on MY SHIP?!"

"No, but this action is needed now, we shall allow him to stay around and he'll follow us towards Rasputin."

"Okay, I know you're all about strange plans, but this one sounds full on stupid." Jack said completely dumbfounded by this.

Of course all of what both said weren't entirely wrong. Jack was the captain still and the ship was his. However this was Kiralexia's expedition, he was the one in charge of the steering. Dabi was confused during all of this but was overall okay. If by that it means he was worried about being thrown overboard. Jack gave him a hardened stare and sighed before walking up to him and put his face right up to his.

"Do you promise to live by the code and to not lash out and burn half my crew to the ground?"

"What code we talking about."

"The one of pirates."

"Aren't they guidelines."

"To some but to YOU they are a code you must uphold." Jack said with Dabi rolling his eyes before answering.

"Fine I accept." He said staring directly into Jacks eyes.

Jack smirked a bit and looked over at Kiralexia, a signal to let him go. As he did Dabi looked a bit smug before feeling something on his hands. It was a pair of metal cuffs around the hands themselves making it impossible to shoot fire out of them. Well could if Dabi didn't just look up to Jack and made fire around his shoulders. Jack groaned and simply told him to not get any ideas. He then left for the bridge and Kiralexia looked as Dabi went off to the cafeteria. He sighed before getting a little jumped by Vanelis of all people.

"Well it seems this trip just became MUCH more interesting."

"Vanelis weren't you on the carrier with Aizawa and Bakugou?"

"I was, but it was boring and death glares from the two made it unbearable so I decided to move here."

"Well boredom can be cured here out at sea."

"How? Pool polo, this place ain't got the markings."

"Nope, by moping up the deck, you can start at the tip of the boat in the front." Kiralexia said handing a mop and pale to Vanelis. He stared at it before looking up to Kiralexia a bit dumbfounded.

"There has to be something else?"

"You wanna clear barnacles?" Kiralexia asked Vanelis.

Vanelis taking defeat moved to the front of the ship wordlessly and began to mop. Kiralexia chuckled as he a few other began to mop up the deck, and of course sweep it to. Kiralexia then got hit with a Spackle in the head and looked up to see Jack smirking at him.

"Since you offered you're doing it."

"What but i- oh fine." Kiralexia said in defeat moving to the end of the boat.

He then jumped off and planted his feet to the side of the boat. Thus began his gruelingly hard journey of taking off barnacles with a few other crew members, and Tsu of all people. Several hours of barnacle cleaning later Kiralexia got onto the deck sighed and began to slip around. He then fell and slid into a few crates crashing onto him. He stood up and saw Vanelis giving a sly smile to him before returning to the cafeteria, mop in hand. Kiralexia groaned before getting up and setting the boxes back up properly. After that whole mess he went to the rim and leaned against it sighing as he did so. He then looked to the side to see Dabi right next to him.

"How was your day?"

"Had worse." Dabi answered sighing out a bit of smoke.

"Heh yeah stuck under a damn tree is definitely my worst time on this earth."

"Oh god that sounds like one." Dabi said a small smirk forming on there mouth. They were then silent for a bit before Dabi looked over at Kiralexia and asked a question he was all to familiar with. "So you're an AI?"

"Aye that's true, what are you going with this?"

"It's just, I never thought an AI would be so advanced as to feel emotions. I honestly thought it was impossible for them."

"Eh maybe back in the 21st century but not nowadays. The Eternals are a prime example of this, yet for me, I guess a good way to explain it to YOU is this. Emotions for humans are chemicals meshing together to form them correct?"

"Uh, I didn't that."

"Oh well, that's how organic creatures do it, so put that into an AI and what do you get?"

"A mess?"

"Well you're not wrong even the first even sentient AI was slow to emotions, most was a curiosity and fear. As for me it was confused and awe. To me with my brain and processing core, I simulate the emotions. So I must ask this when is a simulation real?" Kiralexia asked with Dabi thinking on it. He sighed before answering.

"Honestly, philosophy isn't my strong suite, BUT I'd say when they themselves view it as real."

"Exactly, I feel these emotions like anyone else, fear, joy, anger, all of it. To say we can't feel is ignorance and a blindness to the advancing scientific landscape."

"Eh I guess so, but let's move on, when did you and Toga become, ya'know, family?" Dabi asked Kiralexia.

Kiralexia seemed surprised by the question. He didn't think Dabi cared, much less wanted to know. He had to think for a while, it had been so long. Yet finally he came up with an answer.

"I'd say when she was around 5 maybe even younger I can't remember it all."

"Why did you do that, hell the Militia allow it?"

"I felt the need to protect her, she was odd and as much as it offended me to have her called it, a bit of a freak. You don't go around chopping catapillars up with a smile on your face and be 'normal'."

"That… actually sounds to much like her."

"That's not the worst of it, but anyways. When I learns why she was out in that park, I decided to take her home, my brother was incredibly concerned BUT accepted it. Everyone felt as if she were safer here then at home. I sadly left her when she was, I'd say eleven years old, and that was the last time I saw her happy."

"Is that why you're so close to her now?"

"Yeah, I wanna make up for my mistakes."

"Good man, better then the bastard that raised me." Dabi said with Kiralexia turning to face him.

"I know who you are." Dabi began to sprout flames and give a fearful look. "Oh relax I can keep secrets but I must ask when will you tell them? Tell HIM." Kiralexia asked.

"If things go right, soon hopefully."

"Hm, well keep your chin up, the seas aren't safe around here. Might not be today but rather soon we might face something bigger then the Eternals." Kiralexia said beginning to move to the Cafeteria. Dabi looked at him and called to him.

"Promise you'll tell no one?"

"I'm a man of my word." Kiralexia said with a smile before moving to the cafeteria again.

Dabi smirked a bit before looking to the sky. It was getting dark and cloudy. The sea was also getting more aggressive. He looked beyond the horizon, Japan was no in sight anymore. All that remained around them was a vast ocean. Whatever lurked in the seas, he'll face them. Yet nothing would prepare him, for the fight ahead.
