("I am happy to report that Loren and I are dating, yes, I finally got the courage to ask her the day we went to eat. I took her home and that's when I asked, let me go back for you.")
"Ian and Mel left together to catch the new series on TV of Star Wars on Netflix, I told Loren I'd take her home. We talked about the summer we met at the beach house.
I stopped the car and I walked her to the door. "It was great to see you again Loren."
She smiles. "I was excited to see you too, thanks for helping with the charity, I know many kids will benefit from your kindness."
"I would do anything for you Loren."
("She gave me the most beautiful smile and I couldn't stop myself, I leaned in and kissed her again, this time she wrapped her arms around my neck and our kiss deepened. I held her closer, we had to pull away to catch our breath, that's when I knew I couldn't be apart from her another moment, I asked her to be my girl.") You couldn't wipe the smile off my face.
"Hey son, are you okay?" Max asks.
"Hey Pops, I am perfectly fine, thinking of Loren."
"Of course you are." Max adds. "How long have you been dating?"
"We officially became a couple 4 months ago; I can't believe she agreed to be my girlfriend."
"Seems like only yesterday you told us you were dating, where is she?" Max wonders.
"She's busy with school and she'll be done soon, she makes sure we spend time together, she's always with me when I'm looking through contracts, waits for me while I record. She helps in several elementary schools for school credits so we can spend time together, I'm a very fortunate guy."
"Happy for you son, she's an amazing young lady, your mom and I care for Loren very much."
"I know Pops, I will see her in a few hours, we will meet with Ian and Mel for pizza before I have to get back to the Avalon for rehearsals."
"Does she know?" Max asks
Eddie looks at his father. "Knows what Pops?"
"How you feel about her?" Max questions.
("I know where my Dad was heading with this, he wants to know if I told Loren I love her.")
"I think it's too soon Pops, I don't want to scare her away." Eddie adds.
"I know you love her, you light up when she walks into the room, I know she wouldn't complain if you told her you love her." Max adds.
"I was completely mesmerized by Loren the moment I saw her at the beach house that summer, she hasn't left my mind for one minute, I have no interest in anyone else but Loren, does that make sense?" Eddie asks.
"Of course you make sense! I knew your mom was the one the moment we met, nothing else mattered." Max adds.
Ian walks into the room. "Hey Duran, I need you to follow me home."
"What for?" Eddie wonders.
"Don't ask any questions, just come with me." Ian insists.
Eddie gets up and looks at his watch. "I have to be at the Avalon by 7 tonight."
"No worries, I called Jake and told him something came up!" Ian adds.
"How did you get him to comply?" Eddie wonders.
Max stands up and waves. "See you two later." He walks his car.
Ian looks at Eddie. "The manager of the Avalon called, there's no power in the building, you can do rehearsals tomorrow night." Ian winks. "It worked out Duran." Both men walk towards their vehicles and they head to Max and Katy Duran's home.
Meanwhile..
"This is a very beautiful surprise for Eddie." Katy adds.
"You think so?" Loren wonders.
She made lasagna, a green salad with all of the trimmings, she managed to get the recipe for Nora's infamous pecan pie.
Katy gets her bag. "I'm meeting Max for dinner, you enjoy your dinner date."
Katy pecks Loren on the cheek and walks out. Loren has the table set and ready to surprise Eddie.
Katy drives away and within minutes Ian drives into the driveway and stops, he sees Eddie pull into the driveway.
Eddie exits his car and looks towards Ian. "Now what?"
"Go inside your home, see you later Duran." Ian drives away and Eddie wonders why he's parked at his parents' home.
The front door opens, Loren stands there with a big smile, she's wearing a cute summer dress that flatters her body perfectly, her hair flows beautifully in the light breeze and the sun is shining. She looks more beautiful than ever, she's wearing a little make-up, a peachy color frames her lips perfectly.
"Hi handsome."
"Hey beautiful, what are you doing here?" Eddie wonders.
Loren walks towards him, she offers her hand and their fingers intertwine, she guides Eddie inside the home.
"I wanted to surprise you with dinner, just the two of us." Loren adds.
("I couldn't believe my eyes, the most beautiful girl to grace this room with her presence has made dinner for me, I am so fortunate to have her in my life, I hold her by the waist and bring her closer to me, she looks at me with those beautiful hazel eyes and leans in to place a soft kiss on my lips, kissing Loren Tate has become my favorite thing to do, is it possible to love someone this much?")
"I love this! You are an amazing girlfriend." Eddie says, still holding Loren close to him.
"I've been very busy this week with finals and I haven't been able to go with you on your television interviews."
"It's okay babe, I know school is important to you." Eddie adds.
Loren guides him towards the dining room table.
"What did you make?" He wonders.
"I made your favorite." They sit and enjoy their delicious dinner.
"This is delicious! I smell Pie, did you made pecan pie?" Eddie is surprised.
"I wanted to do something special for you." She adds, after they're done, Loren isn't done with the surprises she has in stored for him.
She walks into the kitchen and gets the pecan pie from the counter, she places a box she's wrapped in blue shiny paper with a tiny glittery bow on it next to the pie, she walks towards the coffee table in the living room and places it in front of Eddie.
"What did you do? Did I forget something?" Eddie wonders.
"I have something to tell you." Loren adds with a sexy smile.
"You can tell me anything." She sits across from Eddie in the sofa. "Here, open it." She gives Eddie the small box. Eddie takes it from her hand and unwraps it. His eyes widen when he sees a leather bracelet.
"This is beautiful, this is the one I was looking at the other day, I love it Loren, thank you for the perfect gift."
"Turn it over Eddie, it's inscribed." She adds, Eddie turns it over and reads the inscription.
"I want you to wear it every time you perform." Loren adds, Eddie reads what it says. (MY LOVE FOR YOU GROWS MORE INTENSE EVERY DAY, YOURS FOREVER, LOREN)
("She looks at me wondering what I am going to say, I can tell she's nervous, probably wondering what my reaction revealing her love to me. I look deep into her eyes; she's blushing, anticipating what I am going to tell her. I hold her hands and bring her closer to me.")
