The four of us stood together staring down Fei Wong Reed. His stupid fucking cocky smile was what got me the most. He felt like he had won because he managed to trick us.
"I suppose mere artificial beings are ultimately of limited use. Unlike the real thing." Fei Wong grinned, holding Sakura close.
"Sakura!" Syaoran yelled, lunging at the man. Sakura began floating upward as our enemy spoke again.
"Let us begin." He said simply.
The first second of time restarting hit me like a bullet. It rang out through my whole body and the urgency of our situation came crashing down on me. I heard the water start to flow once more.
"Time is beginning to move again." Fai said, keeping his eyes on Sakura.
"Go to the Princess." Kurogane told Syaoran.
"You've been waiting a long time for this, right?" I said to the kid. "Go grab ahold of her hand!"
"Go!" Kurogane demanded as he, Fai, and I prepared to take on the real Fei Wong. Syaoran turned to run toward the young princess to finally save her the way he wanted to all those years ago.
"So it has finally arrived! The moment I have been waiting for." Fei Wong cackled.
"Syaoran!" I heard Mokona call out. "I can feel the power of one of Sakura's feathers!"
"There can't possibly have been a feather in Clow Country back then!" Syaoran exclaimed.
"Perhaps not then." Fei Wong said, "However, your journey has caused the logic of the world to begin to crumble. The events you brought about in all those different worlds — surely you have witnessed that they affected not only the present but the past as well. A desert land. The sound of the names. A reservoir of precious protected water. And, of course, a building like a pair of towering pillars."
"No!" Kurogane exclaimed at the same time Fai said, "This can't be!"
"Is Clow the future of Tokyo!?" I gasped.
"Correct." Our enemy smirked. "This land was once known by the name of Tokyo. And thus below us lays that single feather the princess left there by her own will."
"Sakura left the feather there for the sake of the people in Tokyo! Because they'd be in trouble without water… because Sakura is a kind person! Syaoran told us about it! How the water here tried its best to protect Sakura!" Mokona cried.
"It knew. It must have known that Sakura took care of it and it wanted to take care of her." I realized. I felt frozen as a bright light shined behind us. The feather that had been left behind all those worlds ago flew through the rift toward Sakura. It hovered over her for a moment before entering her and joining her other memories.
"Sakura!" Fai yelled.
"I can't move!" Kurogane shouted. He was right. It wasn't that I felt frozen. I was frozen.
"Something weird is happening!" I heard Mokona say as Syaoran cursed.
"A body engraved with many dimensions and the feather containing unparalleled power that has been sleeping deep beneath these ruins for so long — with that power the chains connecting the different dimensions can be torn apart. Finally." Fei Wong smiled in front of us. "The most basic law of the world shall collapse. The law that the dead can never return to life."
The world shook. Every molecule in my body hummed in warning of the danger around us. We had to break out of this frozen state no matter what. I felt sparks of my magic at my fingertips and immediately knew what to do. I used my power to break apart the curse on Kurogane, Fai, and me. If I could have made my magic reach Syaoran I would have helped him, too, but with my limited mobility, I could only do so much.
Thankfully, the men beside me were also fighting their hardest to be able to move which made things easier for me. It only took a couple of moments to release us. Kurogane immediately lunged at Fei Wong and while he swung his sword, I turned to cast the same spell on Syaoran to free him from his frozen prison.
"Just when my wish is about to be realized. How tasteless." I heard the villain say. I didn't get a chance to see what was happening before a bright light engulfed me and I was thrown. I landed face-first in a pile of rubble between Kurogane and Fai. The shock of the blow knocked the wind out of me and the pain made moving unbearable.
"Syaoran!" I heard the two men yell as they scrambled to their feet to launch another attack on Fei Wong. I felt them standing over me protectively as it took me longer to regain my strength.
I pushed myself up to my feet just in time to see Syaoran grab seven-year-old Sakura's hand. He pulled the young girl to him and for just a single second I allowed myself to feel relieved. But I knew this had to be far from over.
"So you took it. That hand. And with that choice, the final chain has been severed." Fei Wong said. "You made it to recover one on the point of death. Those feelings… that final choice… will cause one who also placed one foot in the valley of death and was frozen in time at that very instant in the same way to be called back."
We watched in shock as the young original Sakura floated toward the older Clone Sakura until they merged into one.
"What's going on?" Kurogane asked.
"I don't know…" I answered.
"The Sakura who we went on our journey with and the Sakura who was preserved within the separate time, both of them possessed an incredible amount of magical power. For that to be merged into one…" Fai told us.
"I gathered souls and encased them in constructed bodies, but all that I achieved was failed creations… but now… A body engraved with dimensions, a magical power stored through the ages at the water's bed, and the true being with the capacity to inherit both; I have them all!" Fei Wong said. "Clow once made the attempt but he did not succeed. You who had your being, time and all, severed away just like that princess, you who were severed even from all worlds, Witch of Dimensions!"
"Yuuko!?" Mokona cried.
"Is that who all of this is for!? Yuuko is… dead?" I gasped.
"Sakura's light! It's vanishing!" Mokona yelled before we could fully process what had been said. We all rushed toward the princess to try and save her.
"YOU WILL NOT INTERFERE!" Fei Wong screamed launching another attack and sending us flying once more. "The dream you could not fulfill! I will now fulfill it with my own two hands, Clow!" I gasped in pain as I landed again.
"I'm getting really tired of this shit." I coughed out.
"Yuuko's magic circle!" I heard Mokona call out. I scrambled to my feet once more, adrenaline and rage masking my pain, in time to see a dark intricate circle appear between the kids.
"Could it be!?" Fei Wong cursed. I gasped in surprise before rubbing my eyes to make sure I was seeing correctly.
Standing before us were two Syaorans and two Sakuras.
