"Wh–what?" I heard our Syaoran speak. "That's… not Sakura. Mother? And… Father?"
"Don't worry. It will be all right." the older Sakura smiled. "That's what she said to me when I met her in a dream… and it gave me strength. The one from another world who is the same as me."
"To choose the future." The older Syaoran said.
Suddenly, a strong wind started howling and I felt Fai grab me and pull me close to him while using his magic to create a sphere around us, Kurogane, and Mokona. I watched in horror as images of worlds we'd visited before appeared in what looked like glass shards that were cracking and breaking apart.
"What's going on?" I asked as the scenery around us broke apart and different magic circles cropped up.
"Don't leave this space!" Fai ordered.
"WHY YOU!" Fei Wong yelled.
"This world…" Syaoran's mother started.
"We won't let it be destroyed!" His father finished. The winds grew stronger as a storm raged around us, but now it felt less destructive.
The shards that were breaking apart before were coming back together.
"All the destroyed stuff is being rebuilt!" Mokona called out.
"What's that reflected in the pieces?" Kurogane asked.
"All the worlds we've traveled through?" I said, following my initial assumption.
"No," Fai said. "They're memories. They're trying to turn the world back!"
"Along with the logic that Fei Wong tried to destroy?" I asked.
"Can they do it?" Kurogane added.
"The power they wield is incredible! And yet… If they truly had enough magical power to restore everything that Fei Wong has destroyed at this point… I should have noticed them even if they were in a different dimension." Fai told us.
"Mokona didn't sense them at all, either." Our friend said.
"Just where were those two hiding?" Kurogane asked.
"And besides, Syaoran was calling them Mother and Father, but then why do they look just like Syaoran and Sakura, even down to the clothes?" Mokona spoke.
"Because they're his parents and our original travel companions." I gasped, tears springing to my eyes.
"And how do you know that?" Kurogane asked.
"I will not permit you to interfere with the realization of my wish! I WILL NOT!" Fei Wong screamed before I had a chance to try and make sense of how I suddenly knew that their clones somehow ended up being the original Syaoran's parents.
The battle between Fei Wong and the Syaorans raged on as we watched from our bubble. I grabbed the back of Fai's coat, feeling anxious and helpless.
"Syaoran!" I yelled. Fai used his magic to try and protect the boys while keeping us safe as well. But it was too much even for him and he started to collapse. Kurogane and I both managed to act quickly with the samurai grabbing our magician to keep him from falling as well as Mokona to stop the little creature from flying off, and me using my magic to take over his protection spell to keep our little bubble intact.
"That magic circle is Clow's? No… This is Clow's magic itself! Why are you able to use it?" I heard Fei Wong screech. Once I was able to ensure that our protection barrier was secure, I ventured a look at what was happening around us. The magic that Clone Syaoran was using belonged to Clow, then.
"Is everyone ok?" I asked Kurogane. He simply nodded, his sword hanging from his mouth since his hands were full.
"Then the two of you are the ones whom I created afterall!? The Clones!?" Fei Wong yelled.
"The same Sakura and Syaoran we travelled together with!?" Mokona cried.
"Ah, I knew it." I smiled.
"You did." Fai said, finally regaining his strength and patting me on the head gently.
"Hooray! The two of them returned!" Mokona sobbed, jumping to my shoulder.
"Is it really… you two?" Kurogane questioned.
"Yes." The two clones answered.
"You jerk." Kurogane said to Fai. "You understood this since they appeared didn't you?"
"Well, I thought so, but…" Fai started to answer.
"Then say so already!" Kurogane snapped.
"I wasn't confident until Mai said so." The magician smiled at me.
"If you'd been wrong, I wouldn't have stopped with my fist." Kurogane barked at Fai before addressing the clones, "And to finish off, I'd give you two a good knocking! Don't disappear a second time."
"I think he means he missed you!" I called out to them as they smiled. Kurogane gently knocked my head with his knuckles.
"And you and the other princess, don't disappear on your own, either!" Kurogane said to the original Syaoran and Sakura. We all smiled at our friends as the originals nodded.
"Mommy and Daddy finally have all their kids back." I chuckled, wiping a tear from my eye with my left hand, continuing to keep our magic barrier together with my right.
"Whether you're my child or my original existence, that you're a precious existence to me won't change." I heard Clone/Father Syaoran say to our younger friend. The sentimental moment was quickly ruined by Fei Wong launching a ball of electircal energy through the air at all of us.
It took everything I had to keep my arms up and my magic working to protect us. The second Reed's magic hit us, I felt as though my bones were splintering from the blow. I felt Fai grab my hand as the attack affected all of us.
"The rotation is stopping!" Mokona exclaimed.
"He… stopped it." Fai said.
"The Dimensional Witch isn't here." Fei Wong gasped. "Is she dead in every… world…?"
"Oh no…" I gasped. If Yuuko was the reason he did all of this and she's gone… there's no telling what he'll do next.
"I won't accept it." He screamed. "I won't accept that! I have to resurrect the Witch!" Fai's hand tightened around mine and I felt his magic mix with mine to strengthen our security.
"That's only proof that I exceed Clow!" Fei Wong yelled again. "The power to cross dimensions, to cross time, that I had stored in the ruins! I won't let it be in vain! Absolutely! I will absolutely have her revived! That the witch disappeared, that reality is impermissible! I will turn back time once again! WIth your freedom as the price! And then with the princess' power I will bring forth a dimension in which the Witch exists. It should exist! Somewhere! A path on which the Witch won't vanish! Until that happens you and the princess will live in my hands. However, neither of you will be able to touch, nor will your voices reach! Don't worry! I'll kill you when I'm done with you!"
Wind wiped around us originating from a glass container floating between Fei Wong's hands. It started to suck the original Syaoran and Sakura into it to our shock. Fai used his magic to try and stop Fei Wong, but even though his attack landed, the crazed man continued to drag our friends away. Syaoran's parents/the clones grabbed ahold of their our friends and began to be sucked into the tube as well.
"No!" I shouted as the three of us broke out of our protective bubble to lunge toward our friends. But the second our barrier vanished we were all frozen mid-air.
"Syaoran!" Mokona screamed as the four of them vanished. This time I didn't hesitate, I knew the spell to free us from our frozen state.
"You damned clones! I'll smash this to pieces!" Fei Wong yelled.
"They'll–" Kurogane said, lifting his sword as my magic freed his movements.
"I know!" Fai said back, using his own magic as I freed him as well. With Fai's magic protecting Kurogane and my own protecting us, our swordsman was able to launch his strongest attack yet. His dragon strike flew through the air and was heightened by our own powers. The attack landed, but Fei Wong looked realtively unphased as our combined powers split between him and the glass container he was holding.
"I said you're in the way!" Fei Wong laughed, firing back at us. The three of us split apart, doing our best to avoid the attack, but with no luck. Piercing pain shot through me as I landed in the ruins' water.
"That's the same as from Yuuko's shop! That Clow made…" Mokona said from beside me, getting a good look at the container our friends were being held in.
"Without the permission of those dragged into this, you can't break it!" our enemy screeched. "You damned clones! From this world — no — I'll erase you from every dimension!"
"DON'T TOUCH THEM!" The three of us screamed attacking him once more. But his reaction time was faster this time around and he hit us before we were able to get close.
"Fai! Kurogane! Mai!" Mokona called out as we hit the ground once again. At this point, the pain I felt was beginning to turn to numbness. That couldn't have been good, but we couldn't give up now. I pushed myself to my feet and took stock of my friends to make sure they were alright. Bloodied and bruised, but still standing.
"We will escape from here!" I heard the Syaorans and Sakuras yell from their prison. A windy vortex formedinside the glass container. I couldn't see what they were doing, but I knew that if they were determined to get out then they would get out.
"Fools!" Fei Wong called to them. "If you possess magical power you should understand that you cannot escape!" I could feel their power, though. I could feel their determination and their joint strength.
"This power that lies within us is the power to surpass time-space." I heard the Sakuras say together.
"You mean to use that power to escape your prison!?" Reed yelled.
"It is a power that only we can use." The girls said.
"Stop! I did not place that power within you for a purpose like this!" As Fei Wong screamed at our friends, the three of us took another opportunity to attack. While the men fired everything they could at our enemy, I used my magic to take possession of the glass prison. I couldn't get it far away from that man, but I felt that if I could get it out of his grasp our friends would have a better chance for freedom.
"Even if you leave there now the laws of the world are already crumbling! By destroying your prison, you will only cause the world's laws to be twisted still further! It cannot be reversed! In fact, you will cause time-space itself to collapse! Your own existences too will be reduced to nothing!" Fei Wong threatened.
"We will move onward nonetheless. Our choice is to move onward, never to stop!" The Syaorans shouted. "Because we believe in everyone."
"Feathers of mine," I heard the Sakuras speaking now, "If you still remember me, along with all that has been carved into you, return to me."
"STOP!" Reed yelled as he watched his wish fall apart. This was the moment that we needed. Kurogane and Fai teamed up to attack Fei Wong one final time. With Fai's magic helping him, Kurogane was able to finally slash through his enemy.
"Got him." I said under my breath.
"The witch… will be resurrected. That is the reason for my existence…" He stuttered, reaching still for the glass container while breaking apart the same way we watched Clone Syaoran vanish earlier. "And then… there is something I must tell… I.. for that… I…"
Syaoran… I could hear Fei Wong's voice but he was almost gone and his lips weren't moving. You are the same as I. You must pay the price for… your… sins…
And with that Fei Wong Reed vanished.
