Falix pov.
I raised my head from the water. Wearing a suit of armor alongside tatsumi. Swimming while wearing heavy armor is pretty brutal training. But it's effective. I especially wanted to try my best considering sheele was our trainer today. Despite being a deadly assassin, slicing people in half with a sword sized pair of scissors. She's the sweetest girl I've ever met. Even to a bitter son of a bitch like me. She's still nice to me. Her radiant smile melts the ice around my heart.
"Good work both of you. Wearing that armor while swimming will improve your strength and movement during operations." sheele said with a smile.
"This is nothing." i said with a grin. "By the way. Are we doing this all day? Don't you have any other jobs today?" i asked. Her expression darkend.
"In the kitchen, I burned the meat, and Akame lost it. While I was cleaning, I finished making more mess making Bulat´s work more difficult. When I was assigned to do the shopping, I mistook salt for sugar, and Leone started laughing. Finally, when I tried laundry, I accidentally washed Mine along with the clothes" sheele explained. I couldn't help laughing about that last one.
"Looks like you didn't need a shower that day you little shit!" i said laughing. Tatsumi and sheele sighed. "I-i'm sorry. Me and Pinky don't get along. I really don't get what you see in her sheele." i said as the laughing finally died down.
"Well we have a history together. She was there when i lost my first best friend…" sheele said sadly. I raised an eyebrow. "I've always had a screw loose. I'm sorry for tha-" she said as she bowed only for her to lose her glasses. She looked up and I saw her beautiful purple eyes. I quickly picked up her glasses and put it back on. "Thank you falix. I lived in the capital's industrial district. Ever since i was a child. I caused messes and disasters. I never took pride in anything i did. People called me names and made fun of me for it." sheele said. After hearing that I wanted to find those people and butcher them.
"But There was a girl named spear. She was always nice to me. She never made fun of me. She was the only person i could feel happy with. Until that day. Her former boyfriend. Angry and on drugs. He began choking her. I did the only thing i could. I grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him in the neck. I was calm when I did it. Spear was trembling. I haven't heard from her after that. I went to her house. But she didn't answer. Her boyfriends came to avenge him. But i killed them all with that very same knife…that was when i realized. I could help by cleaning up the trash…killing was the one thing I was good at…" sheele said. Tears starting coming out of her eyes. If there was one thing i hated more than the crooked scumbags of this shitty empire…it was seeing sheele cry. I wiped her tears.
"You'll only screw up if you think you will. Have more confidence in yourself. If you can't. I'll give you mine. I believe in you sheele. So stop thinking so down on yourself. Because I sure as hell don't. I think you're wonderful." i said with a smile.
"Falix…" sheele said with a blush. "Thank you." she said with that all too radiant smile. I can't help but blush…I swear I'll be who you choose.
After more heavy armor swimming. I headed to the main room. We got another mission. But i couldn't help but notice that akame and leone had a few changes…both their hairs have gotten smoother and shiner. And akame boob's have grown a bit bigger. I can also sense a bit of auron's magic in them. What the hell did they do last night? Worry about that later. Our target this night is a fucker named lokal. He's a cousin of that pig. Honest. And he's been abusing that. To kidnap rape and whip young women to death. He'll be leaving his pleasure palace in a body bag tonight.
We all got into positions. As soon as that pig came out of the palace to see his new toys. Mine fired pumpkin. She got a headshot. despite pumpkin not having a scope. God damn. I'll admit she definitely has the skills to justify her arrogance and ego. Doesn't make her any less annoying. After lokal hits the ground. Me and auron jumped into action. Slaughtering the guards. We lead the scared woman to a nearby revolutionary army camp. We both got a few kisses on the cheeks from a few of them. Akame and leone would have killed auron if they saw that.
The next day/imperial slums/auron pov.
Me and tatsumi went with leone to the slums. Despite this place being the poorest part of the empire. It's certainly the most lively. Nice to know that despite their finances. They can still smile. Alot of people greeted leone. Some kids calling her big sis.
"Your quite popular among these people." i pointed out.
"I was born and raised here. I was even a masseuse." leone said. She than wrapped her arms around my right arm. Pushing her breasts into my arm. "Want me to give you one?" leone asked. Trying to be flirty.
"Why not? I could use one. Make it the happy ending." i said with a grin. She blushed and pouted. Teasing doesn't work on the guy you gave your virginity too.
"Hey! There's leone! Pay what you owe! We'll wring it out of you!" a man yelled. Alongside a bunch of others came running towards us. Must be men leone conned out of money like she did tatsumi. Unfortunately for me and him. Karma had to come collect when we're with her. So their probably pummel us too. Despite me being an innocent bystander. While tatsumi is also someone that leone also conned. But they won't let us explain that.
"Shit! Run!" leone yelled. We took her advice and began running. After a bit of running we lost leone and her pursuers.
"When we get back. I'm giving leone a spanking." i said. Tatsumi blushed. He then looked around….yeah. We had no idea where the hell we were.
"Where the hell are we!?" tatsumi yelled.
"No idea…we'll find a way back. Can't be too hard to find a map." i said.
"Pardon me. But are you two lost?" a girl's voice said behind us. We looked behind us to see a girl with orange hair in a ponytail. Wearing a soldier uniform alongside some dog looking creature at her side. It's definitely a teigu. "My name is seryu. I'm of the imperial police. This is my partner. Coro. do you two need some help?" seryu asked.
"Yeah. we've got lost. Could you lead us back to the slums?" i asked. Seryu then took mine and Tatsumi's hand and led us back to the slums.
"Here's your destination! Be sure to inform me of evil doers!" seryu yelled. She then ran off. I'm glad she's gone. The whole trip she was talking about night raid like we were the scum of the earth. Despite the fact she's a part of an army that's filled with the very evil doers that she should be stopping. She's no hero. Just a delusional lunatic living on an ego trip. Several times. Her face showed psychopathic eyes. And a wide vile smile. Appeared through my mind. And i wanted to get away from her before she found out that we were the so called "villians".
After returning to the base. And giving leone her spanking. Though at some point. She started enjoying me slapping her ass. So i quit after that. It was supposed to be a punishment. not foreplay. Our next mission came around. To destroy a group of drug dealers. They drug the woman of the slums and use them for their prostitution ring. Me and leone are tasked with hitting them in the red light district. While sheele and mine are going after there leader. Tybil. My head soon began to hurt. Sheele's death that i saw in my dream flashed through my mind…this was the night sheele would die.
"Are you okay?" akame asked me.
"Boss…can falix join sheele and mine?" i asked. Everyone was looking at me with confusion. Wonder what's up with me.
"If he doesn't mind. I'll allow it. Falix do you.." najenda said. Only to be interrupted by falix.
"I'll go with them." falix said.
"You'll be on the same team as mine. You know that right?" lubbock asked.
"I'm aware." falix said.
"Okay! What the hell is up with you!? You're being too…serious." mine asked.
"I must agree. There was no vulgarity. No cockyness. And you we're being too straight to the point…that isn't like you at all falix." najenda said.
"I made a promise…and i'm doing this to keep it…that's all you need to know for now." falix said as he walked away.
"A promise…with who?" Tatsumi asked. A promise with me. That we wouldn't let any of you die. No matter how much mine annoys him. The promise we made is more important….sheele is more important to him.
Imperial park/sheele pov.
We dealt with tybil. No doubt auron and leone are cleaning up the rest of his gang. But i can't help but question what is wrong with falix. He took this assignment without hesitation. Mine has done nothing but brag. The thing that annoys him so much. But he hasn't reacted like he used to. No insults about her chest. Or her height. Or her choice in colors. As much as i'm glad that they are not getting into a fight. It's very unlike falix. He said he joined on to keep his promise. But what is this promise?
"I know you're there! Show yourself!" falix yelled up at the trees. Soon a girl with orange hair in a ponytail with some dog creature on her shoulder. Jumped down.
"Villains of night raid! You will face justice for the innocents you've killed!" the girl yelled. Falix bursted into laughter. "And what is so funny villain!?" the girl yelled.
"What you just said was the biggest load of bullshit i've heard. I won't deny what we did can be seen as villainous. But that really depends on who you ask. The fat fucks at the top. Counting their stolen money. While stuffing themselves with a pig, the sadists who get their rocks off on someone's slow and agonizing death? Or the high ranking soldiers who have a hobby of cutting down whatever unlucky civvie happens to be around at the time. To them, sure. But to the people who had their loved ones framed and executed for a crime that they didn't commit. Thanks to some high ranking imperial douchebag with a friend with a lot of money? Some poor guy being used as a punching bag by a bunch of imperial soldiers? Or a poor orphan girl being strangled by a couple of punks who thinks it's okay because she's a refugee? To those people. We're the closest to the heroes they're gonna get!" falix yelled. The orange haired girl had a look of hatred on her face.
"You're lies won't work on me, evil doer!" the orange haired girl yelled.
"I've been nothing but honest. The only person lying to you is yourself. After all. Can't be the great big hero. If you realize that you're good guys are actually the bad guys. Cause that would get in the way of your little ego trip wouldn't it? Face it. Your no hero. Just a little girl living in some superhero fantasy." falix said with a blank stare. Showing utter disdain. The girl yelled with rage. She quickly pulled out two tonfas and charged at falix. He quickly summoned his sword and pushed her back.
"That sword…so you're the one who killed my master! I will avenge him tonight!" the girl yelled.
"Master? Who?" falix asked.
"Do you not remember my master? The man who slayed in an alley a couple of weeks ago?" the orange haired girl asked.
"Umm. no. can't say i do. Guess he didn't make an impression. Must have been crazy weak." falix said. As he threw his sword in the air and caught it repeatedly.
"You bastard! You killed ogre and you completely forgotten! How dare you!" the girl yelled. Her face twisted into a look of pure psychotic rage. Falix just casually tapped his sword on his shoulder.
"Oh. That's why I couldn't remember. Because that wasn't me. Goes to show much of a waste of a captain's badge that guy was. When all it took was some teenager with a longsword to take him out." falix said. The girl gritted in rage.
"Coro! Rip him apart!" the girl yelled. The dog opened his mouth wide showing a huge gaw of razor sharp teeth. Falix swiftly dodged. And roundhouse kicked the dog threw a few trees.
"Sending your pet to kill me? Figured the student of that one eyed loser wouldn't have much to offer." falix said.
"Shut up shut up shut UP!" the girl yelled.
"Make me. Oh wait. That would take you actually being a threat." falix said with a grin. She gritted her teeth with rage. Before she could do anything I swung extase at her. She blocked it. But the force sent her flying.
"You and mine handle her teigu. I'll deal with her." i said.
"Alright…but please be careful." falix said with something i've never thought i'd hear from him…genuine concern. Is he really that worried about me? I nodded at him. But we heard a whistle go off.
"She's calling for backup!" mine yelled as the girl gave off a sinister grin.
"Just means more stupid imperial scumbags die tonight." falix said. Not even phased i went after that girl. I repeatedly stabbed at her. She managed to block all my blows. But she tripped over a rock. Which gave me the opportunity to cut off her arms. I went in for the kill. But guns came out of her arm stubs. She immediately fired at me. I tried to block. But someone else blocked the bullet…falix.
"I don't want to know where in your body was keeping those. But…" falix said as he cut off her gun arms. She screams in pain. "They come off just as easy as flesh." falix said as he readied to stab her through the head. "Let this be a lesson girlie. Your justice is fake. If it was genuine. You would have won this fight." falix said. The girl chuckled.
"I may die at your hands. But i can at least take one of you. Coro! Berserker mode!" the girl yelled. Her teigu than grew several times in size. It's skin became blood red. It let out a loud roar that me falix and mine had to cover our ears.
"Shut the fuck up you ugly mutt!" falix yelled as energy charged into his hand. A big red laser similar to what pumpkin would fire at full power came out of his hand. It put a big hole in the teigu's chest. "I'm pretty sure that counted as disturbing the peace." falix said. Only to be grabbed by coro. "Let go off me dammit!" falix yelled.
"Falix!" i yelled.
"Make him suffer for what he did to orge! Crush him!" the girl yelled. The teigu increased it's grip.
"G-get the fuck off me!" falix yelled. But soon screamed in pain. I had to help him. I cut off the teigus arm.
"I think that stupid dog broke my arm…thanks sheele." falix said.
"Your welcome fa-" i tried to say but was interrupted by falix.
"LOOK OUT!" falix yelled. I soon heard a gunshot. My dress soon stained with blood. But it wasn't mine…it was falix's. Somehow he quickly moved fast enough in front of me. To shield me from the bullet. He quickly wrapped his unbroken arm around me. And quickly jumped out of the way of the teigu's bite. Falix was on top of me. Looking at me with a smile. "Are you alright?" he asked.
"Yes…but i should be asking you that. Why did you take that bullet for me?" i asked.
"You saved me a minute ago. Returning the favor. Plus isn't it natural for a guy to put himself in harm's way to protect the girl he loves?" falix asked. I blushed.
Falix pov.
Guess the cats out of the bag. I confessed. I really wanted to kiss her. But i heard alot of rifles cocking. I saw that the reinforcements were here. Man we were in some shit. A bunch of armed soldiers. A psycho chick with a gun coming out of her mouth. And a monster dog ready to crush us. And i'm badly hurt. A broken arm. And a bullet in my chest. I raised my sword at them. If i was going to die tonight. I would at least give sheele and mine the opportunity to get away. As long as sheele lives. I can die with a smile.
"It seems you have found your light." a voice in my head said. My head began to hurt badly. I dropped my sword and held my head with my one good arm. "Your hatred for the scum of this empire. The scum that thinks that they can torture and kill the innocent without consequences. It has broken the chains of light. Allowing the power of darkness in your heart. And now the chains of darkness have shattered. By your desire to protect. Your love for that kind assassin. Whose smile makes the sun ten times brighter. Has allowed you to wield the power of light as well. Now nothing will stop you. It's time to awaken. You who would slaughter gods to protect the justice you believe in! The time is now! Release restraint!" the voice yelled.
Sheele pov.
I have no idea what's going on. Falix looked like he was having a very bad headache. But then…he exploded. But as soon as the purple flames that reached the sky dissipated. I saw falix. His skin was pitch black. With purple lines all over. He had black angel wings. And a halo that was red and broken in three places. He then looked at me and mine. His eyes were the same color but there was no white. Just black voids.
"Sheele…mine." falix said. His voice deeper and distorted. "Please…escape. I promise. I'll come back. And sheele. I'll tell you. How i truly feel." falix said. He looked me with a smile. I blushed.
"Come on! Let's go!" mine yelled. I followed after her. We both ran away. Falix…you better keep your promise."
Falix pov.
I don't know where this power came from. But i'm not complaining. I feel unstoppable right now.
"Go after them!" the head guard yelled. A Lot of soldiers tried to go after sheele and mine…like I would let them.
"Fallen destroyer!" i yelled as i fired dark energy from my hand. Causing a huge blast of dark energy. Reducing all the soldiers to ashes.
"W-what the hell is that thing!?" the head soldier asked.
"Your executioner." i said in his ear as i quickly appeared behind him. I shoved my hand through his chest. I than approached seryu. "So tell me little girl. Are you still feeling confident oh so great hero of justice." i said with sarcasm in my voice. She was clearly afraid. Her big dog tried to crush me. But i grabbed it's arm. "Bad move fido." i said. I summoned fallen angels cry. Charged it with energy and swung. Coro was split into two halves. But as he split apart. A crystal ball was holding the two halves by veins. They pulled together to put the dog back in two. And started to regenerate. But i pulled out ancient day and shot the crystal ball. It shattered and the two halves fell apart. The flesh that was trying to regenerate ripped. As the two halves fell to the ground. This damn beast was finally dead. I turned around to see seryu. She fired her mouth gun at me. But the bullet bounced off. It honestly felt like a ball of paper being thrown at me. I grinned as i walked towards her. She repeatedly shot me. All having the effect of fuck all. Once i was close enough i grabbed seryu by her head.
"To think. We could have lost sheele to you. A delusional psychopathic little girl. Who refuses to open her eyes to the truth. Because it would get in the way of her little superhero fantasy. That's how it was supposed to go…but not this time…this time. Sheele lives. While you suffer a painful death! So tell me little girl! Where's your justice!?" i yelled as i rammed her head into a tree. I than ran her across multiple trees. The right side of her face becoming a bloody skid mark. I than threw her to the ground. Her limbs bending in ways they shouldn't. As i looked down at my handiwork. I started thinking about sheele. Her beautiful smile. Her kind and warm heart. Even though i haven't been apart of night raid for long. But i really enjoy being around that airheaded. Yet kind and beautiful woman….
"I…i did it. I saved her…" i said. As i began to cry. I didn't realize how scared i was of losing her until now. Of how darker my world would have been without that beautiful smile of hers..i would have lost my light…"sheele…once i return. I'm going to tell you how i truly feel…no more hiding." i said as i looked towards the sky. I heard more soldiers coming. And i couldn't maintain this form any longer. So I made a run for it before it faded.
Falix's room/sheele pov.
Me and mine made it back. Auron and leone completed their mission. We told them what happened. Auron wanted to go find falix. But najenda wouldn't let him. She told him that he died giving his life for his comrades. And if he was alive. He'd come back. Auron was still holding onto hope that he was still alive. Saying "falix is too angry to die." auron joked. But i understood. We both believed he was still alive. All we could do is wait. I went into falix's room. On the desk. I found his drawing book. I opened it. Falix was a really good artist. He drew the waterfall beautifully. There were even portraits of all of us. They were all really well done. I giggled a bit. When i found a picture of falix and mine staring at each other with a spark between them. Falix was sticking his tongue out. That's their relationship in a nutshell. I then turned to the first page…and I covered my mouth with my hands. And teared up.
"Sheele. What's wrong?" mine asked as she walked into the room. She saw the drawing. And was baffled. The drawing was of falix resting his head in my lap. I had angel wings. Under the drawing was what must have been what falix felt about me.
"Your kind heart. Your radiant smile. Your unrivaled beauty. Your warmth has melted the ice of hatred around my heart. And I truly can't thank you enough. The shadows of this cold and corrupted empire will try to steal you away into their arms. But I won't allow that. For you belong in mine. I swear i'll be who you choose. I love you sheele." the writing under the drawing said.
"He was in love with you…guess i should have saw that coming. The only time when that jerk was smiling. When he wasn't laughing at me. Was when he was looking at you…didn't realize he was such an artist and poet though…i hope you're alive you idiot." mine said.
"I thought you and him hated each other." i said.
"Oh we do…but if it wasn't for him…you would have died. He took a bullet for you. It would be a pretty bitchy move to not at least thank him for that…come on. Our missions don't stop when one of us goes missing. So we better rest and get ready for another day." mine said. She soon left the room. I closed the drawing book. And got up and looked at the moon.
"I truly know how you feel now…please come back…my love." i said. I then went back to my room.
Unknown forest/falix pov.
That power wore off. Obviously it didn't come without consequences. As i was now on the verge of passing out. I tried to resist but i couldn't. I saw someone approaching me. But i can't tell who. And with how close i am to blacking out. All i can do is pray that whoever the hell is approaching me. Isn't an imperial soldier out for my head. My consciousness faded away. Guess I'll find out if I wake up in hell.
