Hailey sighed as she walked out of the district and headed towards Jay's truck in the Parking lot the Sean case was still weighing heavy on her mind she knew if she wanted to take him down that would mean getting close to him and as much as that thought made her feel deeply uncomfortable getting close to someone like Sean it felt like falling down the Voight rabbit hole again wished after Roy Walton and then seeing what it had done to Jay she vowed not to do again but she also knew that this was necessary, She reached the truck she put her things on the passenger seat before getting into the driver's side and starting the vehicle and starting the car and starting the journey home.
Stepping into the Apartment and placing her keys on the hook, her coat in the closet and taking off her runners she walked to the kitchen taking a wine glass out of the cupboard walked over to the fridge and took out a bottle of wine and left over Bartollis putting the food in the microwave and pouring a glass of wine she walked around the counter opening her laptop before the microwave beeped telling her the food was ready she set her glass down and retrieving her dinner and walking back around the island to her computer she opened her email seeing one from Jay she smiled she had emailed him a few days ago telling him about her plan to take Sean down and her apprehensions about everything.
Jays reply was in typical Jay fashion telling her that she was going to take him down and assuaging her doubts he always knew the right thing to say to help her through anything she was struggling with it was in these moments she missed him the most.
She quickly replied to the email before walking to the bedroom and changing into a pair of sweats and one of Jays t-shirts she walked out of the bedroom and took her dinner and wine to the living room and turning on the tv and loading Netflix and putting on How I met your Mother she and Jay had binged it when they had firsted started dating she was on the episode where Robin and Ted decide to move in together.
After a few episodes she turned off the tv put her dishes in the dishwasher and walked to the bathroom to get ready for bed she went back to the kitchen to get her laptop so she could Facetime Jay for their monthly video call clicking on his name she was confused after Mouse answered the call after a few rings Hey Hailey he said Jay is just coming back from a training session he asked me to pick up your call incase he was late he didn't want you to worry that he wasn't picking up he explained smiling Hailey let out a small laugh before she replied "Hey Mouse good to see you again I hope your keeping Jay out of trouble for me" "Of course couldnt have him injuring himself now could we" Mouse said laughing Hailey was about to reply before she heard the door open and Jay walked in Well thats my cue to leave see you soon Hailey Mouse said waving before disappearing from view and Jay appeared on the screen.
Hey Beautiful Jay said smiling wide Hi I got your email Hailey replied Thx for always knowing what to say she added Aways he promised How have you been he asked good she replied I went trick or treating with Mak and Kim Mak dressed up as a firefighter she says she wants to be one just like Auntie Stella she said I think adam was a little disappointed she doesn't want to be a police officer she laughed Jay let out a laugh of his own good to know Adams still adam he said they for another hour and a half talking about Hailey's plan on how to take Sean down figuring out a more detailed plan and for that small time things felt normal again before the whole Roy Walton before Jay left to save himself from going down a dark path from which her may not have returned.
