Chapter 26: A Massive Introduction To Michael's Battle Style! Blazing Through The Group Stage!
After the opening ceremony ended, everyone went to eat dinner while they waited to see who was in which group. During dinner the group results were announced. While most of the group were alone in their own group, Michael and Jack were unfortunately put together in the same one.
Michael - "Well Jack. Seems like you and I will be battling to see who wins our group then."
Jack - "Yep. So then, may the better trainer win."
Michael - "Agreed."
The two of them shook on it. After dinner everyone went to sleep to get ready for the tomorrow. Then morning came. During breakfast, the party found out that due to there being so trainers in the group stage, it would take a good while to have them all done.
Twilight - "So how is this gonna work for the group stage?"
Michael - "The way I see it. There are 10 stadiums scattered across the entire Indigo Plateau. Since group stage battles are 3v3, I say a good 4-5, maybe 6 battles can be done per stadium, meaning a good 40-50, maybe 60 battles per day. But that entirely depends on how long each battle takes."
Ruby - "So how many battles will there be in the group stage then?"
Michael - "Including me, Mikey, John, Jack, and Hololive EN, there are 256 Pokémon Trainers here. Only the top two of each group, meaning 128, can move on. That's the first two matches in each group already. Triple that number, which means the entire group stage will be 384 matches long."
Weiss - "So that means the group stage could take anywhere between 7-10 days."
Mikey - "Well we just have to be patient then."
After breakfast, the group stage battles finally started. While most of the group achieved a win AND a loss. Michael and Jack surprised everyone by winning both of their first two group matches in dominating fashion. However, Michael held the tiebreaker cause he hasn't lost a single Pokémon yet, while Jack had lost a single one during each of his matches. Along with the fact that Michael had only used a single Pokémon during each of his battles. Soon it was time for him and Jack to have their battle.
Andy - "Hello everyone that's watching this at home. Welcome back to the Indigo Plateau as we get closer to the end of the Group Stage."
Clyde - "That's right Andy. And this upcoming battle should be a good one."
While the commentators were doing their broadcast, the stadium's PA announcer introduced the trainers.
PA - "In the Red Corner, from Veilstone City in Sinnoh, Jack! And in the Blue Corner, from Pokémon Island, Michael Masi!"
Andy - "And both trainers have been introduced here. On our left in the Red Corner, it's the biggest trainer on all of social media, Jack!"
Clyde - "And in the Blue Corner, it's the Battle Genius of Pokémon Island, Michael Masi!"
-Sunnyberg's Viewing Party-
Tracie and John silently watched, wondering how there son's battle was gonna go against a rival.
Tracie - "Come on Michael."
-Team Rocket HQ-
Giovanni and all of Team Rocket were also watching the battle.
Giovanni - "You got this boy."
-Back At The Indigo Plateau-
Tim stepped up on his podium since he was gonna be the official for this match.
Tim - "This will be a 3-on-3 Group Stage battle between Jack of Sinnoh's Veilstone City and Michael Masi of Pokémon Island. The battle will continue all Pokémon on one side are unable to continue. Are both trainers ready?"

Jack (3) Vs. Michael (3)
Jack - "Go Magnezone!"
Michael - "Swampert I choose you!"
Andy - "Jack's first Pokémon is Magnezone. While for Michael it's his trusty Swampert."
Match #1: Swampert (Sea Incense) Vs. Magnezone (Metal Coat)
Tim - "Swampert Vs. Magnezone! Begin!"
Turn #1
Jack - "Flash Cannon!"
Michael - "Go human and dodge it! Then answer back with Earth Press!"
Flash Cannon's Current Power: 80 + 40 = 120 + 24 = 144
Earthquake's Current Power: 100 + 50 = 150
Earth Press's Current Power: 150 + 80 = 230 x 4 = 920 x 2 = 1,840
Clyde - "And Jack quickly has his Magnezone fire a Flash Cannon at Swampert!"
Andy - "But as we've all seen in the gym battles Michael's used him, Swampert is surprisingly quick for his size. Which he shows by turning human and easily dodging the Flash Cannon, then striking back with his combo move Earth Press!"
Swampert does as stated and turns human, then dodges the incoming Flash Cannon, then struck back with Earth Press, knocking out Magnezone quickly.
Tim - "Magnezone is unable to battle! Swampert wins!"
Clyde - "And just like that Swampert takes the first match."
Jack returned Magnezone.
Jack - "Thank you for everything Magnezone. Go Golem!
Tim - "Will you change Pokémon Michael?"
Michael - "You still good to go Swampert?"
Swampert gave a thumbs-up, signaling yes. Michael then crossed his arms.
Andy - "And Jack's second Pokémon is Golem. Meanwhile, Michael gives his signature crossed-arms pose, stating that Swampert's staying on the field."
Match #2: Swampert (Sea Incense) Vs. Golem (Soft Sand)
Tim - "Swampert Vs. Golem! Begin!"
Turn #2
Jack - "Earthquake!"
Michael - "Strike back with Icefall!"
Earthquake's Current Power: 100 + 50 = 150 + 30 = 180
Waterfall's Current Power: 80 + 40 = 120 + 24 = 144
Icefall's Current Power: 90 + 144 = 234 x 2 = 468 x 4 = 1,872
Jack's Golem does try to fire off an Earthquake, but Swampert in his human form was just too quick and quickly struck with a frozen waterfall. Golem is then quickly knocked out.
Tim - "Golem is unable to battle! Swampert wins!"
Michael - "Atta boy Swampert!"
Clyde - "And Swampert quickly takes the second match with a frozen waterfall to attack Jack's Golem."
Jack - "Return Golem. Thank you for the effort. Go Turtonator!"
Tim - "Will you change Pokémon Michael?"
Michael - "Swampert?"
Swampert gave another thumbs-up. Michael then crossed his arms again.
Andy - "Jack brings out his third and final Pokémon, Turtonator! As Michael once again keeps Swampert in."
Match #3: Swampert (Sea Incense) Vs. Turtonator (Soft Sand)
Tim - "Swampert Vs. Turtonator! Begin!"
Turn #3
Jack - "Earthquake!"
Michael - "Earth Press!"
Earthquake's Current Power: 180 – 60 = 120
Earth Press's Current Power: 1,840/4 = 460
Much like earlier with Magnezone, Swampert quickly attacks Turtonator and knocks him out.
(Music Ends)
Tim - "Turtonator is unable to battle! Swampert wins! All three of Jack's Pokémon are unable to battle, so Michael Masi wins the battle!"
Michael - "Let's go!"
Clyde - "And just like that, Michael with another clean sweep. He goes a perfect 3-0 to take the group and heads into the knockout stage."
Michael then met Jack at midfield as they shook hands.
Jack - "Thanks for the fun battle, Michael."
Michael - "You too Jack."
Soon they both left the field for the rest of the group stage battles. The rest of the group stage was finished up while the party was having dinner. Soon the group stage results were shown, followed by the Round of 128 matchups. Michael was then stunned to see that his first opponent in the knockout stage was Bae.
